Chapter 9: Folklore of Long Ago

Back inside of the meeting room of the Lich Yard, they were talking to Dark Acolyte about his loss to Manda.
The hooded duelist sighed and replied, "I tried my best to defeat him, sir. I would of won, but she summoned that amazing Synchro of hers. I'll do better the next I have to duel for you, sir."
The knight looked at him and replied, "Don't be so hard on yourself, young man. You did the best you could. Your Vendread deck is really strong and if you had some more cards to use, you could of done more to help us out. Besides, my deck is ready to go against those brats anyway. I'll destroy any of his decks."
He nodded and replied, "Thank you so much, sir. I'm going to my cabin to head to sleep now. Good night, sir."
He nodded as he left the building and Reize then replied, "He doesn't take losing that well, does he?"
"I've seen him duel 3 times and he lost his first one with his old deck and then he got a win with the deck he had now. He does what he can to support me and my group. I Can't want to destroy either of their decks."
Reize nodded and replied, "I've seen you use your deck many of times and loved it each and every time as well. You'll do just fine."
"Thanks, son. Letr's go get Dark Acolyte and we'll have our newest recruit make us some food. You hungry, Reize?"
"I really am, Specter Knight. I wanted a snack while watching that duel, but the duel was so good that I wanted to watch the whole thing."
"I can't blame you for that one, Reize. Let's get something to eat."
He nodded as they both left as well.

Back in the bunker's dining area, the ladies were chatting with the King and his sons about the duel that happened while Manda was going over her deck that won her the toughest duel she's ever been in.
Lord Pridmoor nodded and replied,"I'm so proud of your hard work in your duel, Manda. You dueled as hard as you could and you win against one of the best duelists known on the island. You should be proud of your hard work, my young friend."
Manda only smiled and Emmie saw her Synchro and she replied, "Where did you even get that awesome card from anyway? It's one of the toughest cards to find."
Her cousin nodded as she took the card and replied, "Before we came to this island, my father and your Uncle Ryan was in a big time tournament back in the States and he won with his Phantom Beast deck. He was in a tough spot and he managed to win the duel as best as he could. This card and 5 other rare cards were the top prize and he didn't need the cards to be used, so he offered me the cards and I had to promise that I wouldn't trade or sell that Bast card at all and I did so and now I own the card. Last time I checked online before we left, the card was worth about 150,000 American dollars now. It's a big amount, but I will refuse any offer for the card. My promise to my dad is bigger then any dollar amount."
Emmie nodded and replied, "Very noble of you, cous. After this mess is all over with, I want to duel you with my Fiend deck to see who much we've improved as duelists."
Manda smiled and replied, "I actually always wanted to duel against your Dragon deck, but I think your Fiend dekc is much powerful then the Dragon one. I can't wait for the duel."
They both nodded and then Jordan then replied, "This will be amazing duel to watch. I Can't wait for that day."
Lord Pridmoor nodded and he hooked at his son Dennis and he replied, "How's the future right now, son?"
He sighed and replied, "My friend and her girlfriend are on good terms with the Knights there, but they're not allowed to see each other after work for the next 8 months. Those knights are making them both so damn miserable now. I Can't wait to we finish and seal way that horrid Enchantress once in and for all."
"I understand that one, son. With the girls we have here now, we'll win against her and those knights. We can do it for the island."
He looked at Emmie and replied, "IS your deck ready for your fight against Specter Knight tomorrow, Emmie? I heard his deck is much stronger then Dark Acolyte's deck would ever be."
Emmie smiled and then she nodded and replied, "My deck is really for anything they send my way, sir. With the extra cards I got from your vault and the extra ones I brought with me to the island, my deck is really for anything their group sends my way, sir."
"Sounds good to me, young man. I can't wait to see you after your victory over him."
They all nodded as the Gastromoner and replied, "The Chicken Alfredo dinner is ready now, sir. You all ready for the meal?"
He looked at the ladies and they all nodded to him and he looked at the cook and replied, "Go ahead and bring the meal to us."
He nodded as he left and Emmie smiled and replied, "Yum! I love Chicken Alfredo. It's my favorite pasta dish of all time."
Her girlfriend only smiled as Manda went to gather her cards up.

Later on that night in the meeting room, Specter Knight was going over his deck one last time before his duel against the girls.
He nodded and replied, "Dark Acolyte may have been a failure for me as a duelist, but my deck is so much better then his will ever be. I can't wait to crush those girls with my deck."
As he continued to work on his deck, he heard knocking at his door and he sighed and replied, "What do they want now? I thought both are sleeping now."
He got up and walked up to the door and he opened up and Black Knight was there and Specter Knight groaned and replied, "Of all things to bother me, you had to show up here to talk to me. What do you want now?"
The knight let out a annoying laugh and Specter Knight groaned and replied, "Please, stop with that horrid laugh. No one likes it."
"Everyone is a critic these days. Me and the Enchantress heard about your apprentice's loss to that Beast girl."
"Are you here to rub in my face that one my crew member lost?"
He let out another laugh and replied, "Not at all. She wanted me to give you this card."
a Effect monster appeared in his hand and he handed it to him and he saw the card and he nodded and replied, "That's a card I've been wanting for this deck for ages now. Why would she be nice enough to hand me such a mighty and rare card?"
"She just wants you to do what King Knight failed to do and that is actually defeat one of those brats in a duel, Specter Knight. You do that and send her to the Enchantress and you'll be rewarded with anything you can think off from the island."
He nodded and replied, "I'll do whatever I can to win the duel, Black Knight. Tell the boss lady that."
"I will do that. Don't fail us or you'll regret it big time."
he walked away and vanished in a cloud of black smoke and the knight closed the door and he sighed and replied, "I can't wait to finally shut that knight up for once by showing them I can crush one of those girls!"
"I HEARD THAT!", Black Knight's voice yelled out with a laugh and he groaned and replied, "I hate it when he does that. So annoying."

That next day, the girls were enjoying breakfast of the classic combo of bacon and eggs. Emmie had her deck ready to duel and was enjoying her meal.
Lord Pridmoor looked at her and replied, "You ready for your big duel today, young lady?"
Emmie nodded and replied, "I redid it a little bit and I think it's ready for any duel, sir. My deck has a lot of great cards in it and I'll crush anything he sends my way."
"Sounds good to me, son. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get the win you deserve."
He nodded as they all continued to eat their breakfast.

After they all finished eating, the gang left to face off against Specter Knight and after meeting Dark Acolyte at the main door, he lead to the middle of the yard where a dueling arena was located. Each area that a Knight was in charge off had a dueling arena just in case they had to duel someone.
Manda looked at the hooded minion and replied, "I really hope your group haven't been bothering the ones resting in peace here or their tombstones."
He sighed and replied, "I promise that they'll never be bothered at all. The Enchantress told use herself to leave the stones alone at all times."
Suddenly, light posts around the arena started to turned as the red-caped knight with his scythe suddenly appeared and he replied, "Morning to you all. I'm Specter Knight, Enforcer for the Quarter of New Order and I'm here in charge of the Lich Yard at all times. Who will I be dueling today?"
Emmie raised her hand and the Knight nodded and replied, "The Fiend master, eh? Sounds like a plan to me. Let's get going then."
His scythe glowed as it turned into a duel disk with the correct number of slots and Jordan nodded and replied, "Nice touch."
He nodded as they both activated their duel disks and both drew 5 cards from their decks and he smiled evily and replied, "Ready to fall to my amazing deck, lady?"
"I won't lose to any knight and that includes you as well, Specter Knight."
"Game on!", both yelled out.
(Specter Knight LP: 8000) - (Emmie LP: 8000)
The knight then replied, "You get the first move, young lady."
"Sounds like a plan to me. I'll set a monster and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I'll start with Inari's Charity."
A spell appeared on his side of the field.
"Next, I summon the mighty Yōkai demon Gozuki."
As he sat the card down, the horse-headed demon zombie appeared with a large hammer (ATK: 1,700).
"I'll discard a zombie from my deck."
He did so and then replied, "I'll attack your facedown monster."
It went in and a Skull Knight #2 appeared on the card (DEF: 1,200) and it smashed the Fiend into small black shards.
"Your monsters won't get passed me, lady. i End my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I summon my Archfiend Soldier."
As she sat the card down, the evil foot soldier appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"Attack his monster."
It went in and brought his sword, cutting the zombie from top to bottom. The two halves shattered into dust (Specter Knight LP: 7800).
"First hit to me. Your turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "You are a clever one, young lady. I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I summon my Guerilla Kite."
As he sat the card down, the large kite-like Fiend appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"Lets do it. Destroy his facedown monster."
It opened its mouth as a spiked explosive sphere shot out and a strange zombie with a single eye and a long tongue appeared (DEF: 0) and the bomb exploded near it and blew it to pieces and Specter Knight nodded and replied, "When my Karakasa is flipped up, I can Special Summon any number of them from my deck and I have only one more of them."
Another facedown monster appeared and the Soldier went and slashed the other one to pieces and Manda then replied, "This might be a Yōkai deck, Jordan.'
She sighed and replied, "If this is a full Yōkai deck, Emmie may be in trouble. Those are some of the best zombies in the game."
"Your turn now."
Specter Knight then replied, "I use the effect of my Inari's Charity. Since two of Zombies were destroyed in battle, I can send it to the graveyard to draw a card for each counter that was on it and then I have to banish that many cards from my deck."
The spell vanished and he drew 2 cards and then banished the sane number of them and he resumed, "I now summon my Crow Tengu."
As he sat the card down, a demon-like crow creature with a bow and arrow for a weapon appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"I now use the effect of my Ijū the Strange Beast. Since it's in my graveyard, I can tribute a Zombie to summon it."
As the crow warrior vanished, A large hairy beast-like Yōkai appeared (ATK: 2,300) and Manda nodded and replied, "These monsters are getting weirder and weirder."
"Time to battle. Destroy her Kite."
The zombie went in and slammed its large arm down, crushing the Fiend and sending shredded pieces of orange cloth everywhere (Emmie LP: 7300) and Emmie smiled and replied, "When my Kite hits the graveyard, you take 500 damage."
Small explosive spheres appeared next to him and they engulfed in a fiery explosion (Specter Knight LP: 7300) and he nodded and replied, "Clever, kid. I end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my Soldier to defense and then I"ll set a new monster facedown and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I summon the Yōkai known as Onagakokuba that is also known as the Long-Tailed Black Horse."
As he sat the card down, a beast-like Yōkai appeared with a long black tail (naturally) and it appeared with a snort-like noise (ATK: 1,400).
"Once per turn, I discard a Zombie monster to give it 500 attack points."
As he took a card and discarded it, the horse Yōkai glowed even more (ATK: 1,400 - 1,900).
"I now equip my Iju with my Soul Kanabō."
Suddenly, a glowing wooden kanabō appeared in his hands.
"He can now do piercing damage. Attack her soldier."
He went in and slammed his staff down onto his head and he groaned and then vanished in a burst of green fiery embers & puffs of black smoke (Emmie LP: 6500).
"Onagakokuba, attack."
IT shot its tail out and a female Fiend with various black wings appeared (DEF: 2,000) and the tail struck her and did nothing to her (Specter Knight LP: 7200) and Emmie smiled and replied, "my Alice, Lady of Lament a bit too strong for your Yōkai, buddy."
"So it is. I end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and he smiled and replied, "I activate my facedown card."
The trap appeared.
"It's called Archfiend's Ghastly Glitch and if I control a Fiend monster, one of your cards is destroyed and then I can send any Fiend from my deck to the graveyard."
A burst of dark energy shot out from the trap and struck the stronger Yōkai monster and he groaned and the burst into fragments and Specter Knight sighed and replied, "When my equip card is sent to the graveyard, I can banish it and send any Zombie monster to the my graveyard."
He banished the card and then sent another Zombie to the graveyard.
"I now summon my Red Deviler."
As he sat the card down, a short red-skinned Fiend with two small black wings and a thin pointed white tail appeared (ATK: 800).
"I tune my two monsters together."
The tuner glowed as it split into 2 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Alice, which turned into 4 stars (*2 + *4 = *6).
"A demon from the underworld comes forth and confuses males to do her dirty wotk for her. Synchro Summon! Appear from the underworld, La Naysha the Lady Archfiend."
As he sat the card down, A beautiful lady demon with red skin wearing a beautiful black dress appeared while wielding a chained whip for a weapon (ATK: 2,300).
"When I use my Red Deviler in a Synchro Summon, I can banish any monster from your GY and I Choose your Crow Tengu."
He took the card and banished it.
"When this lady attacks a monster, that monster has its base attack score. Attack her monster."
he swung its whip and it struck the zombie (ATK: 1,900 - 1,400), blasting the Yōkai horse demon to little triangles (Specter Knight LP: 6300).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I'll set a Opticlops."
As he sat the card down, the one-eyed ogre appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Lets do it. Opticlops, attack."
THe fiend went in and a strange ape-like human appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and rammed into the Yōkai, blowing it into shards and then it reappeared and Specter Knight then replied, "When my Satori the Mountain Yōkai is destroyed, I can bring him back."
It reappeared and she sighed and pointed as he swung his chain and it struck the Yōkai ape creature, smashing it to pieces.
"Your move now, Knight."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I activate my Foolish Burial."
He discarded a monster from the deck and then resumed, "I now activate my Hauntes Shrine to bring my Yuki-Onna."
As the trap flipped up, a zombified female Yōkai with blue eyes and wearing a white kimono appeared with a evil glare (ATK: 1,000).
"Since I Special Summoned her from the graveyard, I can Special Summon my Onmaraki."
As he sat the card down, a Yōkai demon-like crane appeared (ATK: 1,200).
"Since I Special Summoned my monster from my graveyard, I draw a card."
He drew a card from his deck and then he resumed, "I tune my monsters together."
The Yōkai lady glowed as she split into 2 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through the crane, which turned into 4 white stars (*2 + *4 = *6)
"A demon-like treasure sails through the seas looking for treasures and souls to keep. It'll destroy any monster with its cannons! Synchro Summon! Appear from the sea, Takarabune The Treasure Ship."
As she sat the card down, a large wooden ship with a large white sail with red kanji designs on it appeared (ATK: 2,300).
"Since I Synchro Summoned him and since I have 2 or less cards, we both draw 2 cards."
Both drew 2 cards and then he Specter Knight nodded and replied, "My Synchro gains 100 attack for each card in my hand."
The cannons began to glow (ATK: 2,300 - 2,700).
"Lets do it. Destroy her Synchro."
The cannons fired a burst of shells and bursts of energy shot and slammed into the Synchro and she groaned and exploded into black shards (Emmie LP: 5900).
"When my Ship destroys a monster, I can draw a card and then I have to discard one."
He drew a card and then he took a card from his hand and discarded it and he resumed, "Your move now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, 'I'll set a monster facedown and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card (ATK: 2,700 - 2,800) and replied, "I summon my Mezuki."
As he sat the card down, the horse-headed Yōkai appeared with its axe (ATK: 1,700) - (2,800 -2,700).
"Lets do it. Takarabane, attack."
The Synchro fired its cannons again and a Dusk Lamp appeared on the card (DEF: 1,400) and the attacked blasted the lamp to pieces and a La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp appeared (ATK: 1,800) and he drew a card and then discarded one and then resumed, "Your move now, kid."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I tribute my La Jinn for my Summoned Skull."
As the genie chuckled and vanished, the mighty Summoned Skull appeared (ATK: 2,500).
"Destroy his Synchro."
The wings of the FIend began to glow and he quickly replied, "I activate my Bark of the Dark Ruler and I'll pay 800."
As she glowed (Emmie LP: 5100), a huge burst of electricity shot out and slammed into the huge demonic ship (ATK: 2,700 - 1,900) and cracks formed all over the ship before it exploded into a shower of wooden splinters and globs of water (Specter Knight LP: 5700).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
The knight drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my Mezuki to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I summon my Mefist the Demon Horseman."
As he sat the card down, a demonic knight riding a black armored demon-like horse appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Mefist can do piercing damage. Mefist, attack."
the horse went and slashed with his dark sword, slicing it cleanly down the middle. The two halves dissolved into dust (Specter Knight LP: 4700).
"Since this Mefist destroyed a monster, I can use one of your effects. I'll force to discard a random card from your hand."
He nodded and discarded a card.
"Skull, attack."
The wings of the demon began to glow as a huge burst of lightning shot out and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) before the blast obliterated it and both discarded their current hands and both drew 5 cards.
"Your turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I activate my Book of Life."
The spell appeared and another Crow Tengu appeared (ATK: 1,400) and the eyes of the demon crow glowed as her Summoned Skull was blasted into small white pieces.
"Banish your La Naysha."
She nodded and banished it.
"I now summon my Uni-Zombie."
As he sat the card down, a duo of zombies appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I tune my monsters together."
The zombies glowed as it split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Crow Tengu, which turned into 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"I don't have a Synchro Chant for this one, but I Synchro Summon the mighty Tsuchigumo."
As he sat the card down, a large spider-like Yōkai appeared (ATK: 2,750) and Manda sighed and replied, "Every time Emmie gets a monster in, he gets a new monster summoned to the field."
"I use his effect. I draw a card and if it's a Zombie, I can reveal it to you and draw again."
He drew a card and it was a Sangan and he banished the card facedown and resumed, "No big loss. Destroy his General."
The huge spider Yōkai let out a burst of acidic white spider webs and they struck the armor of the fiend and he groaned as his armor melted and then it shattered to bits before the acid attack can melt him away (Emmie LP: 4150).
"Your move now."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "I summon my Dark Resonator."
As he sat the card down, the Fiend with a large tunefork appeared (ATK: 1,300).
"I now activate my Silent Doom."
Suddenly, Archfiend Soldier reappeared (DEF: 1,500).
"I tune my monsters together."
The fiend glowed as it split into 3 white stars, whch turned into green rings and the rings went through the soldier, which turned into 4 white stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"A evil king attacks with swift fiery attacks of pure evil and true power! This creature will destroy anything in his way! Synchro Summon! From the Underworld, Chaos King Archfiend!"
As she sat the card down, the demon king appeared (ATK: 2,600).
"Attack his Synchro!"
The fiend rushed and the spider Yōkai glowed (ATK: 2,750 - 1,250) before her Synchro slashed at the huge spider and it thrashed around in pain and then it collapsed to the ground, exploding into a shower of brown shards that flew everywhere (Specter Knight LP: 3350) and then two smaller spiders appeared (DEF: 500 x2).
"I should of known. I end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I'll set a new monster facedown and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and she replied, "Time to show you all a new member of my fiendish army. I summon the mighty Ariane the Labrynth Servant."
As she sat the card down, a fiedish lady wearing a servant's outfit appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"There you go. Archfiend, attack."
It went in and a strange Yōkai that looked like a pile of floating white rags appeared on the card (DEF: 1,500 - 1,200) before it slashed at and it burst into fiery embers and they shot out and burned the Synchro's skin (ATK: 2,600 - 2,100) and Specter Knight nodded and replied, "When my Ittan Momen leaves the field, any monster loses 500 attack."
"Darn it. Destroy one of those tokens."
The lady went in and he quickly replied, "I activate my Negate Attack."
The trap appeared.
"Darn it. I end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and replied, "I'll tribute a token to summon my best non-Synchro monster of this deck."
As one of the spiders dissolved into brown mist, a huge single-eyed giant of a Yōkai appeared with a roar (ATK: 2,900 - 3,100).
"Meet the mighty and powerful Daidara-Bocchi."
Jordan looked at the giant and replied, "Wow."
Manda then replied, "What a giant eyesore that thing is."
Next, I'll banish a Mezuki to Special Summon my Kambari Priest you made me discard earlier."
As he banished the Mezuki, A brown-skinned Yōkai wearing a white tattered shirt and pants appeared (ATK: 1,400 - 1,700) - (ATK: 3,100 - 3,600).
My giant friend also gains 200 attack for every Zombie on the field except himself and also, Kanbari Priest gives every zombie 300 attack as well. Smash her Synchro."
the mighty Fiend went in and slammed his large hand down hard, smashing the Synchro flat in a shower of black & white smoke (Emmie LP: 2350).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Emmie drew a card and replied,"I'll switch her to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."
Specter Knight drew a card and and Emmie smiled and replied, "Time for something different. I activate my facedown Dark Omen - Wrath of Evil."
The trap appeared.
"With this card, I can tribute a Dark Fiend monster to decrease the ATK of a monster you control equal to its base attack."
She smiled evily as she vanished in a cloud of black smoke and the smoke went in and covered the giant's head (ATK: 3,600 - 1,800) and then she resumed, "Since she left the field duel to a Normal Trap's effect, I draw a card and I can activate one of two effets of either setting a trap or Special Summoning a Fiend and I have the perfect one to summon thanks to her effect."
As she sat the card down, a tall and beautiful fiend appeared and she wore a beautiful whtie dress and held onto a beautiful bladed weapon as well (ATK: 2,900).
"May I Introduce you all to Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle!"
The knight saw her and replied, "What a monster. I'll switch my Priest to defense and that'll do it for me."
Emmie drew a card and replied, "Time for some more fun. I activate Monster Reborn to get another card I discarded with the Jar."
As she sat the card down, a tall armored Fiend with a large sword for a weapon appeared (ATK: 2,000 - 2,800).
"Meet the mighty Labrynth Archfiend!"
Jordan saw her monsters and she smiled and replied, "This duel is going great so far. A little bit more."
"He gains 400 attack for each Normal Trap Card in my graveyard. I now summon the last monster I need to use. I summon my Ariens the Labrynth Butler!"
As she sat the card down, A fiend wearing a fancy black tuxedo while wielding two small black daggers for weapons appeared (ATK: 1,800) and she nodded and replied, "With him on the field, all Labyrnth monsters I control get to do some piercing battle damage."
Specter Knight sighed and then he nodded and replied, "You are a decent Fiend duelist, young lady. You'll never defeat the rest of us."
"We'll see about that one. Ariens, attack."
He went in and jammed his daggers into her the Priest and it groaned and shattered to bits (ATK: 1,800 - 1,500) (Specter Knight LP: 3050).
"Labrynth Archfiend, attack."

It went and brought his sword, cutting the spider token in two. As the two pieces shattered to bits, a huge burst of black energy shot out and slammed into the Knight (Specter Knight LP: 0) and Manda smiled and replied, "Yay, girl!"
The 3 Fiends all vanished into black smoke and then Jordan smiled and replied, "Great dueling, babe!"
Emmie stared at the knight and replied, "You owe us a key, Knight."
He only sighed as he got up and replied, "Follow me, then."
