Marinette was transported to a dark cave, but somehow a strange purple light flicked just ahead, illuminating the path in the caves of Rapa Nui. She looked back and saw the Moai statue she had just passed through. This doorway to this exclusive passage had always been reserved for the new chief of the island. She wondered what purpose this test might have, and what it had to do with the mosquito kwami of chaos.

Quietly she walked forward, following the light. Around curves and bends in the rock she was drawn further in. The longer she walked, the wider the cave became, and it opened up into a giant hall with a wide spiraling walkway leading down to the center. Around the outside of this rounded cavern stood solemn stone Moai guards looking towards the middle of the room. As she passed each statue, of what she could only imagine were chief's of the past, their giant eyes started to glow with the same purple light. The face of each Moai was unique, carved to reflect the characteristics of each chief. Each strong ruler who had made the daring swim to the dreaded island...the best their nations had to offer...Ladybug looked around and everything clicked. It was clear to her now that this was likely where the mosquito kwami had lured the human chiefs of the past with the promise of power, and had stolen their identities in order to rule and gain power over their people. Ladybug wondered if the chiefs had ever made it back out alive, or if it was just another pale-eyed version of them that walked back out again. She felt a chill down her spine at the thought, and she refused to let herself think of her own fate in trespassing in such a place.

There was a platform at the middle that everything seemed to be drawing her to, and despite her misgivings her feet led her straight there.

Once she stepped into the center there was a deep groan as if the earth itself was shuttering. The platform she stood on turned, clicked into place, and then lowered into a secondary hall below. This room was even more dank than the first, and the musty air was nearly suffocating. Ladybug imagined that no other being had been present in this place for hundreds of years. Looking around she was reminded of bomb shelters, where deep beneath the earth it was stowed away from all of existence. There was a feeling of deep isolation and neglect in this place...but also pent up rage. There were walls that look like they had been shredded, even though they were made of dense rock. There were gashes in the ceiling as if a creature has tried to claw his way out. There were overturned stone tables, and jagged scribbles of inscriptions all over the walls. With a gasp, Ladybug realized that once long ago this had been the mosquito kwami's prison.

Ladybug looked at the strange script scrawled on every inch of the walls, and raised her yoyo. Flipping it open, she scanned the walls, and her yoyo began to translate the messages back to her. Some words or phrases were random, and disjointed. Others went into rants against certain kwami and beings that Ladybug had never even heard of. Others read like tyrannical speeches of deluded dictators, boasting claims over the earth and all within it. When she finally came to the back wall though, Ladybug paused and her eyes widened. Rather than words was a deeply inscribed image of a Chat Noir...no...Chat Blanc as pale as white chalk. Around him were wavy lines that splayed out like fire. Ladybug's face drew closer and closer looking at the purposeful detail in this picture. She blinked, and looked even closer. Some parts of this Chat Blanc's suit had spots...ladybug spots. She sucked in her breath, and fell back ungracefully over a overturned table. This Chat Blanc did not have only the cat miraculous, but also that of the Ladybug as well!

Her eyes followed the ragged lines of "fire" that radiated out from this version of Chat-punaise, this Cat-bug, this super-powered, monstrosity of a weilder. Huge rolling lines depicting waves...no not just waves...a tsunami, rolled out from the fire. Underneath drawing of a huge beastly octopus stretched out it's eight arms, and strangled everything in the earth, and stick figures of humans, all manner of creatures, buildings, and even mountains were left torn to pieces and scattered. Above a massive dragon stretched his wings above, and engulfed everything else in fire. Then finally, in a ring around the whole stone tapestry were laughing faces, each face different but with the same cold eyes like the Moai. They laughed as all of existence was consumed.

Still splayed out on the floor, Ladybug couldn't help the shutter that shook her to her core. So this was the mosquito kwami's plan! He was going to akumatize Chat Noir into Chat Blanc, and supply him with her miraculous to bring about the apocalypse of the world.

Ladybug's eyes filled with hot tears at the thought of the last time she had stood before Chat Blanc. She had vowed to protect Chat Noir from ever suffering such a fate again, and yet here was her worst nightmare laid out before her. She fell forward in the dirt, with a tear-lined face, and a hollow sob shook her to her core. She pounded against the hate-filled mural, and sunk down to the base of the wall.

"He is the Kwami of Chaos, of course this has always been his goal!" Ladybug yelled into the empty cavern. "But why did his key target have to be the one I love!"

Ladybug stood slowly, and looked again at the future that the kwami of chaos had carved out for them. "Never," Ladybug growled out to the shadows. "You will never use him."

She strode back past the Moai in the upper hall, and they watched her go wistfully. Raising her hand up to the Moai doorway at the end of the cave she passed out of that dismal shrine to Chaos' ego, and was transported back to the pale green grass under the sky.

As soon as she saw Chat Noir she ran to him, and threw her arms around his neck.

"Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?" Chat Noir asked urgently, and out of breath.

"I am okay now," Ladybug said, hugging herself around him tightly.

Chat Noir glanced toward the menacing Moai doorway she had just passed through again. He wondered what had happened, what she had been through, and what she had seen, but he didn't press her just yet. After waiting for what had seemed hours for her to return...an eternity, she was back safely in his arms. Her mission was complete, and now they would be together side-by-side through everything once more.

"Did you find it? What the kwami of Chaos planned? What was hidden within?" Ember quizzed.

"His plans are clear enough," Ladybug said rigidly. "Using our powers to destroy everything in creation."

Ember looked on and saw Ladybug's tear-stained face pressing into Chat Noir's shoulder. Even alight with phoenix fire he felt a chill at the stone-like look in her face. He felt as if he had seen such a look on someone's face a long time ago. The more Ember tried to delve into that memory though, the more it seemed to evade him. The memories of the war against Chaos in previous eons were scattered. Each memory let to a elegant circlet of gold with a white gem at the center. The kwami of forgetfulness, the evasive unicorn must have erased traces of the trauma of war...but with it, the strategy that would now help prevent the mosquito kwami from overcoming them. Ember shook his head.

"Come," Ember spoke abruptly. "It is time that we take council together now that we have done what we set out to do. I do not wish to linger here."

Ladybug hurriedly rubbed her eyes, and straightened. While she didn't release her grip on Chat Noir's arm, she did supply Ember with a nod. "Let's go then," she said unceremoniously.

Chat Noir looked down at her with concern, and touched her cheek, but she patted his hand, and raised the glasses of the horse miraculous to her eyes. "Kaalki, it is time to go back," Ladybug said to the floating horse kwami.

"No, not back to Paris yet," Ember interrupted.

Ladybug and Chat Noir looked startled at Ember and Kaalki, but the horse kwami nodded.

"You think they will already be assembled at Pytho?" Kaalki asked Ember cryptically.

"They will be there," Ember said assuredly.

"Who will be? Where are we going?" Chat Noir jumped between the kwami.

"The council of defending weilders and kwami of this world," Ember replied. "Before going into battle we have always met there...at Pytho...even after it was destroyed."

"Pytho?" Ladybug repeated the place Kaalki and Ember had mentioned.

"The ancient name of Delphi, Greece," Ember supplied. "It is high time you face the oracle."
