Chapter 17: The Rocket Battle and the Return of the Mammalians
Tyler, Sammy, Captain Terry, Chris, and Owen soon reach the rocket and land safely.
"YES! We did it!" said Callie.
"Wow! Look at the Earth. So, that's what it looks like now," said Chris, looking back.
"But there are asteroids, garbage, and debris everywhere," said Owen.
"Rush, ladies and Sammy. The final battle is about to commence," said Tyler.
"And let's not forget to find the boys," said Captain Terry.
"Wait. Where's Mr. Grizz?" said Marie.
Mr. Grizz then shows himself before the group while Sammy says, "(There he is!)."
He then said to the group, "Well, well. Such dedication to your work. I think you've earned yourself a break."
He showed his claws and said, "Now come here…SO I CAN BREAK YOU!"
"Not if I have my team by my side," said Tyler.
When the group was about to go forward, three shadows landed before them to block the way. Everyone is shocked to learn that it's Taylor, Corey, and Prince Octavius. However, Taylor has the same strange glowing substance that was on Captain Terry during Octo Expansion, but it's in the form of a lion's mane and purple. Corey is wearing a purple glowing tiger mouth mask. And Prince Octavius has hypnoshades like Callie's in Splatoon, but they are shaped like a bear's eyes. But all three-minded controlled boys had dog collars that allowed them to breathe in space.
"I'm afraid your interference will make this goal very default to complete. As 1st Lieutenant Lion Mane Taylor, I would vacate this aware and move to the first class. We'll make sure you watch the show in the front row seats," said Lion Mane Taylor.
"Squidhunk, don't recognize me? It's your Squidbabe, Terry. How can you tell that beast do this do you?!" said Captain Terry.
"This is your last warning before 1st Lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant Tiger Mouth Corey, and 3rd Lieutenant Bear Sight Octavius will force you into standing down," said Tiger Mouth Corey.
"Are you going to pick Mr. Grizz over your girlfriends?!" said Chris.
"I guess the only answer is force," said Bear Sight Octavius as the other boys took out their weapons.
"Agent 3 and Sammy, go ahead to Mr. Grizz while trying and break them free," said Owen.
"OK, ladies. Good luck. Come on, Sammy," said Tyler, as Sammy hopes in his Ink Pac.
"(OK, Big Bro. But that Mr. Grizz scares me.)" said Sammy as Tyler ran over.
As the three girls fight their mind-controlled boyfriends, Mr. Grizz fires two Octorpedoes and Triple Inkstrike.
When the duo came across a Golden Egg, Callie said, "A Golden Egg! You might be able to use that!"
"That's it, Agent 1. With Fuzzy Ooze in the way, the Eggs can power up Sammy," said Tyler, picking up two Golden Eggs.
Powered by the Eggs, Sammy cleared the Fuzzy Ooze.
Marie commented, "Nice work, Agent 3-And Sammy too! Keep going!"
With their weapons touching, Captain Terry and Lion Mane Taylor looked at each other eye to eye.
"Taylor, I know you're still in there! You got to fight it!" said Captain Terry.
But Lion Mane Taylor released a lion roar, making Captain Terry collide with Chris and Owen. The three boys' hands grew more enormous claws of the animals they represented.
"Chimney! That mane, mask, and shade are making them turn into mammals. We got to get them off them somehow," said Chris as the three girls stood up to continue the fight.
With 3 Golden Eggs, Tyler fires at Mr. Grizz while Marie says, "What's up with the oozy splotches on his belly?"
When the splotch reverts into a Fuzzball, Callie commented, "Whoa! A Fuzzball came out!"
Tyler quickly moved back to avoid the arm slam and said, "Feast on the beast, Sammy!"
After Sammy is thrown and eats the Fuzzball, the area is covered in a patch of Inklow Ink.
"You're not clocking out that easily," said Mr. Grizz.
He then morphs into the Fuzzy Ooze to retreat farther away from the duo.
"More Fuzzy Ooze!" said Marie.
When Mr. Grizz shows himself, he shouts as Tyler and Sammy continue forward. But he curls up and proceeds to roll.
"What's he doing? Rolling over?" said Marie.
When the rocket begins to react to his action, Callie says, "He's making the whole rocket rotate! Move with the rotation, Agent 3!"
"You're telling me!" said Tyler, trying to keep up with it.
"Keep it up! You're halfway through a full rotation!"
The girls and the guys get caught in the rotation while firing at each other.
"I think I'm going to be sick from this!" said Chris.
"What's the point in battling in this attire?! I need some airspace," said Bear Sight Octavius before pressing his ring.
When he turns into Elliot before everyone's eyes, Owen shouts, "Octavius?! You're Elliott?!"
"It took you this long to figure out why they are never together? This annoys me that I want to bite you."
The boys then grow large teeth of the animal they represent and start to jump to pounce on the girls. But they dodge in time for the boys to bite on the rocket. After roaring again, they proceed to fire at them.
"Five Golden Eggs to punctuate this purple pest!" said Tyler, shooting at another splotch.
With it done, Marie said, "Alright! There's the Fuzzball!"
"(I'll chow down to give him a pow!)" said Sammy, eating the Fuzzball.
With another patch of Inklow Ink on him, Mr. Grizz responds, "Ah, a setback. But this is a GROWTH INDUSTRY!"
He morphInknto Ink once again for Callie to say, "Where'd he go?!"
At the end of the rocket, Mr. Grizz said, "Your parents shouldn't have to try to expose my business back then, little worker. The Octolings only got 2/3 of their mission complete until you had to kill them."
This shocked Tyler to say, "It was you who sent them?!"
"And those Inklings should've brought me you and your pet's egg but have to escape again."
"And sent those Inklings to be rid of Sammy's parents?!"
"They shouldn't have tried to hide the egg of the next Salmonid Overlord from me. Only those Salmonids could erase my Fuzzy Ooze."
"So, all this time, I hated the wrong species….I should hate mammals LIKE YOU! You took everything from us, and now WE WILL TAKE EVERYTHING FROM YOU!"
Tyler then angrily charged toward Mr. Grizz. During the roll, the girls and guys follow the roll. But the guys get on all fours and run like animals.
"This is the last straw, girls! We almost got them free!" said Owen.
When the rolling stops, the boys charge over at them.
"NOW!" said Captain Terry.
She, Chris, and Owen combine their weapons that shoot a blast so big that it removes the mane, mask, and shades. The boys fell.
"Taylor! Corey! Octavius!" said the girls, going to their boyfriends.
The boys slowly woke up and noticed their girlfriends' faces covered in tears of joy.
"Girls, what just happened?" Taylor said.
"Taylor! My Squidhunk! You're back!" said Captain Terry as the girls hugged their boyfriends.
"Did we go somewhere?" Corey asked while Chris helped him up.
"You were mind controlled, but we're glad we managed to snap you out of it," Chris said as the guys stood on their own.
"Now, Owen. About Elliott…," said Prince Octavius.
"I already figured it out right now. You're in his form," said Owen.
He returns from Elliot to Prince Octavius, saying, "I've been wanting to tell you this, but…."
"Never mind that. I'm just happy to see your real face."
Smiling, Prince Octavius makes his hat not covering his face with its shadow.
"Now, let's go. Agents 3 and 3.5 are facing Mr. Grizz by themselves," said Captain Terry, leading everyone to where they are.
With seven golden eggs, Tyler launches Sammy at the last Fuzzball on Mr. Grizz while Callie says, "Finish this, Agent 3! NOW!"
Covered in the last patch of Ink, Mr. Grizz state down in exhaustion. Captain Terry, Co-Captain Taylor, Chris, Corey, Owen, and Prince Octavius arrived by the duo's side.
"So, you're Agent 3 and Sammy. Nice to finally meet you," said Taylor.
"Hey, you three are free. That's cool," said Tyler.
"Too bad we didn't get a chance to see the whole fight," said Corey.
But then Mr. Grizz shows his face for Prince Octavius to say, "Uh, guys? He's staring right at us."
"So, you didn't have enough, did ya?" said Captain Terry.
"Luckily, we freed our boyfriends just in time," said Chris.
"So, we can get revenge on what you did to them," said Owen.
But Mr. Grizz replies, "You are proactive, aren't you…But it's time to clock out. In a few moments, Earth will be ruled by mammals once again."
Mr. Grizz soon absorbs all the Fuzzy Ooze on the rocket.
"Everyone, look out!" Tyler shouted.
The group was soon knocked off the rocket. And they start to float into space while Sammy yells, "(Nooooo!)."
But then, coming from a twinkle of light, DJ Octavio in his Octobot L3G.s arrived and saved them all.
"Woah, what a luck save," said Captain Terry.
"But how could this be?" said Co-Captain Taylor.
Everyone looked down to see DJ Octavio say, "GYAH HA HA! Not if I crash your big finish! You're not dropping this beat on OUR turf!"
"Father! You came to save us!" said Prince Octavius happily.
"So, you finally show your face to me, Elliott?"
"Father, I can explain."
"You can save the talkin' once we make a bear fur rug out of that animal."
"You got it, Father."
Back at Space Center, the Squid Sisters, Squid Cuttlefish held by Marie, and Deep Cut saw the whole scene.
"We'll hype you up from here, Agents, Captain, and Co-Captain," said Callie.
Then Shiver said, "Listen up! It's going down…Repping the Splatlands, we are DEEP CUT!"
"Ready up there? Let's bust that bear!" Frye shouted.
"AY, AAAY!" Big Man added.
After Deep Cut posed, Shiver continued, "You lip-synch…We drip ink-"
But Callie interrupted and said, "SHIVER, FRYE, AND BIG MAAAN!"
They groaned in disappointment, for she did while she giggled it out.
"Oh. Our turn?" said Marie.
Squid Cuttlefish yelled, "Hit it!"
"That heavenly melody!" said DJ Octavio, starting to play Calamari Inkantation 3MIX.
The group on the Octobot was amazed by the music. But then Sammy begins to glow in blue light covered with sparkles for Tyler to hold him in his hands.
"Sammy?!" said Tyler when his brother began to float into the air.
"(Woah! I don't know what's happening, but I love this song! I want to sing to it!)," said Sammy.
He begins to sing to the music. He floats even higher and shines brighter.
"What's happening, Sammy?!" said Captain Terry.
"I think the music is causing him to evolve," said Co-Captain Taylor.
Then images of marine life forms go into the shining Sammy for Cuttlefish to say, "Look! Marine-like energy is flowing up there!"
"Streams of light…" said Frye.
Then Shiver quoted, ""Three lights…""
"The Inklings, Octolings, and Salmonids!" Chris shouted.
"…united to consume the disaster…."
"To defeat Mr. Grizz!" Corey yelled.
Then as Sammy transformed into his Salmonid Overlord form(Hugefry form), Frye said, "It is as it was foretold. Behold! SAMMY THE HUGEFRY!"
"AAAY! (OHHH YEAH!)" Big Man exclaimed.
"No wonder Mr. Grizz was after him! That must be his Salmonid Overlord form," said Owen.
Sammy swims over to face the red-eyed glowing massive Mr. Grizz for Callie to say, "WHOA! Sammy and Mr. Grizz got HUGE-IFIED! They're so…ADORABLE!"
"The bear is filled with Fuzzy Ooze! Eliminate the Fuzzballs to help Sammy!" said Captain Terry.
"He's trying to deliver the Fuzzy Ooze himself! You've got to stop him!" said Marie.
"You ooze, you lose. Go back to Ursa WHINER!" Frye exclaimed.
"What does that even mean?!" said Tyler.
"You ready, Octavio?" said Squid Cuttlefish.
He respond, "GYAH HA HA! Pilot hatch unlocked! Fuzzballs…mInk my Ink Vac! Hop in, Agent 3!"
"You heard him! Steer the Octobot King vacuum those Fuzzballs up!" said Callie.
"We only have 3 minutes and 33 seconds before he slams into the Earth! Hurry!" said Marie.
"You got it! Everyone else, cover DJ Octavio and me!" said Tyler, going into the hatch.
"Ready!" Captain Terry, Co-Captain Taylor, Chris, Corey, Owen, and Prince Octavius shouted and showed their weapons.
"Heads up! Enemies are boarding!" said Callie.
"Not on our watch! Go, Squidbeak Splatoon!" Captain Terry said as the six of them fought the enemies.
Sammy and Mr. Grizz then fight each other.
"(You made this my fight for killing both of mine and Big Bro's parents!)." Sammy roared.
"I should've eaten you and your brother when I had the chance!" Mr. Grizz yelled.
"Did he just understand Sammy?!" Tyler shocked.
With one Fuzzball sucked up, Squid Cuttlefish said, "Oho! It's workin'!"
"There are more Fuzzballs up ahead! Get the next one!" said Callie.
"You, Octavio! Check it out! There are fake Fuzzballs floatin' out there! Be careful!"
"You can't suck up the fakes?! Yikes!" Marie commented.
"But we're popping them down," said Chris, making the fakes disappear.
"Just like old times, eh tough mussel?" said Corey.
"Yeah, but cooler!"
With the second Fuzzball gone, Frye said, "OK, OK! Only two left!"
"GYAH HA HA! NICE!" said DJ Octavio.
"You said it, Father," said Prince Octavius.
"His back is wide open!" said Shiver.
"I see it and going after it! Keep fighting him, Sammy!" said Tyler.
"Aaay! (Suck it up!" said Big Man.
"More enemies! Let's stop them!" said Owen, attacking.
Once the third Fuzzball was gone, Callie cheered, "Yesss! Just one more to go!"
"This is it, Agent 3! IT'S NOW OR NEVER!" said Marie.
"YES! Go, Sammy! Get in there," Frye cheered.
"That's it! Keep holding him down!" Shiver added.
"Aaay! (Now! While you can!)." said Big Man.
"I'm doing it, Big Man," Tyler responds.
But more enemies arrive for Co-Captain Taylor to say, "I hate these guys! No offense, DJ Octavio, Prince Octavius, Owen, and Shiver."
"None taken," they respond.
With the last Fuzzball sucked up, Callie said, "You got all of the Fuzzballs…Now what? He's still on the move!"
"I'll TELL you what! We fire that fuzz right back!" said DJ Octavio.
"Good idea, DJ Octavio," Corey commented.
"Altogether, everyone! Get in!" said Tyler, opening the hatch.
With the six joining Tyler, they all get in, and by combining their might, they fire.
"First rule of the battlefield! NEVER GIVE UP!" said Squid Cuttlefish.
"BOOYAAAAAAAAAH!" Callie shouted.
After firing it all, Mr. Grizz, now coveInk in Ink, said, "It seems all of my work…has been for nothing. The times have changed. The world can never be as it was. Moving forward…is the future. I suppose this is it, then. You will not receive severance paaaaaay…."
After his final words, the rocket exploded. DJ Octavio quickly drives everyone away from it.
"That was some battle," said Prince Octavio.
"Yeah, I think I'll never forget this," said Owen.
"Look…Sammy…," said Tyler said.
When they turned into him, he glowed blue again to revert to his original form.
"Your younger brother is cool," said Captain Terry.
"Yeah, the Salmonids might have to bow before him now," said Co-Captain Taylor as Tyler stood up and opened his hands for his brother.
"(Wow! I can't get enough of that! And Big Bro's parents and mine are avenged. But revenge is overrated)" said Sammy before Tyler caught him.
"Sammy, you were incredible. I'm so proud of you," said Tyler.
"(Huh? Oh, hey, Big Bro. And it was thanks to everyone's help and yours. Now, if you need me, I'll be in your Ink Pac. I was worried I won't fit anymore.)."
As he goes into the Ink Pac, Tyler smiles as the others laugh.
"What's all the commotion up there?" said DJ Octavio.
"It's a Smallfry thing," Chris replied.
"Alright, DJ Octavio. Take us home," said Corey.
"You got it. That battle was intense. I need some rest and probably a nap," he said.
Then he drove them all back to Earth in a twinkle of light.
