Chapter 18: Together to the End
At Splatsville, the Great Zapfish is seen around the Battle Lobby Tower. Pretty soon, the Anarchy Splatcast comes on for Deep Cut to appear at their station.
Then Shiver said, "Listen up! It's going down… Repping the Splatlands, we are DEEP CUT!"
"Anarchy Splatcast! We're live!" Frye shouted.
"Ay! (Here we go!)." Big Man said.
"You lip-synch, we drip ink…," Shiver said.
"Ay, ay, ay! (Shiver, Frye, and Big Man!)" Big Man added.
Then Big Man continued, "Ay…ay! (I…can…BEARly…contain myself!)."
"What is it, Big Man?" Frye asks.
The TV shows the Great Zapfish as Big Man said, "Ay! Ay! (Breaking news!)"
"Is this about the return of the Great Zapfish?"
"Oh yeah…I almost forgot about that," said Shiver.
But by closer inspection of the Great Zapfish, Shiver added, "…Is that how it always looked?"
"Who cares? It's safe! Yay! Is that all you got, Big Man? What's next?" said Frye.
"Ay! Ay! (No, there's more! Broken news!)" he responds.
"That's breaking. So…hurry up and break it already!" said Shiver.
Then a jellyfish crewmember shows a picture of the Squid Sisters on a notepad while Frye says, "Ooo, lemme guess. This is about the new Squid Sisters, single, right? Because if so, YEAH, I've heard about it, and YEAH, I'm big MAD about it!"
"Wait…it says Squid Sisters on the label, but look at these two!" said Shiver.
"Ay? (Is it really them?)." Big Man asks.
"Th-that's Boss Marie! And her assistant lady! They're the Squid Sisters?!" Frye exclaimed.
"Ay! (Forgive us, Boss Ladies!)."
"They really are our bosses…," Shiver continued. "Deep Cut will open for the Squid Sisters anytime! When are we going on tour?!"
"Yes! Great idea, Shiver. Deep Cut and Squid Sisters World Toooooour!" Frye happy shouted.
"Well…until then, let's just play their latest. Here's Wave Goodbye! Catch ya later!"
As Wave Goodbye is played, everyone in Splatsville enjoys it while they dance and jam to it during the evening. The New Squidbeak Splatoon, Deep Cut, and DJ Octavio watch everyone from the Battle Lobby Tower. The six are in their everyday clothes.
"What a day. The Great Zapfish has returned, the Earth is saved from Mr. Grizz, and he is gone for good," said Co-Captain Taylor.
"I heard he was floating in space. Still alive to this day," said Captain Terry.
"Shouldn't we be worried?" Chris asks.
"I'm sure he'll die from starvation and out of Fuzzy Ooze. What harm could he do in space now?" said Corey.
"Good point. But we should probably not tell Agent 3 and Sammy due to what he's done to them."
"Yeah."
"So, does this mean Elliott is gone for good?" Owen asks.
"Not quite. Elliott has to keep his appearances going not to gain too much attention," Prince Octavius said before transforming into Elliott in his everyday clothes.
"So, Octavio. What will you do next?" Squid Cuttlefish asks.
DJ Octavio looks down to see some of his kind dancing and having fun with the Inklings.
He said, "I never thought peace would come again. It took me five years to see the light of it. Consider this as a truce. Plus, you and I are even now."
"Whatever. We can have together like in the good old days. But there's one that's still bothering me?"
"What's that?"
"Since we are the same age, how do you have a 21-year-old son?"
"It's a funny story. My wife and I had a lot of eggs, and Octavius was the only one that survived. It took 86 years after the war for him to hatch."
"You could say I'm a very late bloomer," said Prince Octavius, hugging his father, which made him happy.
"Speaking of late, where are that Agent 3 hottie and his Smallfry brother?" Frye asks.
"He better not be late because I'm not a waiter," said Shiver.
When Tyler and Sammy came over while Tyler was carrying a lot of canned pots, Callie called out, "Agent 3! Agent 3! I'm so glad you're OK! I mean…I knew you would be."
"Nicely done. We saw it all. The daring. The bravery. The incredible skills. Who knew Sammy could do all that? A-and you were there too," Marie added.
"None taken. Sammy did fight like a warrior," said Tyler.
"Yeah! Agent 3 basically saved the planet. Does anyone other than us even realize that?" said Callie.
Then Squid Cuttlefish said, "Bein' a hero, well…it's a real trip. A voyage, if you will. Some kind…tour…where you go places…."
"Booyah!" Captain Terry, Co-Captain Taylor, Chris, Corey, Owen, and Prince Octavius said.
"Uh…well said, Gramps. Oh, Captains Terry and Taylor, along with the others, were full of praise for you, too," said Marie.
"Oh, yeah!"
"Hear, hear!" Callie continued. "Well, until next time…."
"Stay fresh!" said Marie.
"Ay? Ay ay ay ay? (Okay? So, what's in the containers, Agent 3?)." Big Man asks.
Tyler replies as he passes them out, "They're apology presents for you. A way to say sorry for hating on the wrong species for a long time. I hope you like it."
Once they opened it, they were surprised to see delicious-looking ramen with chopsticks on the side.
"Oh, yeah. I remember you said you could cook. Thank you for the meal," said Captain Terry.
When everyone began to eat it, they were amazed that they all blushed and said, "YUMMY!"
"Good with kids and can make delicious food. I knew Gramps picked the right guy," said Callie while she and Marie ate fast.
"I wonder if you like to work at my palace as my top chef," said DJ Octavio.
"That sounds nice, but someone's got to keep this little guy full," said Tyler, taking out a giant pot of ramen.
"Woah! That's a lot of ramen," Co-Captain Taylor commented while everyone else looked shocked.
When Sammy begins to eat it with Tyler, Marie says, "I can't believe that your brother is still hungry after eating all of that Fuzzy Ooze during the mission."
"Tyler…My name is Tyler…," he responds with a heartwarming smile.
"Tyler, so charming," Callie, Marie, Frye, and Shiver blushed and squealed.
But his name made Captain Terry stop eating and said, "Tyler? Did you say your name is Tyler?"
"Yes?" Tyler reply.
"How long have your parents died?"
"Five years ago."
"Around where Sammy was born?" Chris commented.
"How old are you?" Captain Terry asks.
"15." Tyler reply.
"He's that young?" Frye questioned.
"Younger men are cuter and prey high standards," Shiver smiled.
"Ay-yai-yai," said Big Man.
"Favorite food?" Terry asks.
"Miso Ramen with soft-boiled eggs, sesame seeds, garlic, corn, dumplings, butter, and American cheese," Tyler answered.
"Wow, even he has a bigger stomach like Sammy," Owen commented.
"Favorite drink?" Terry asks once more.
"Nature's Twist Sugar-Free Strawberry Lemonade," Tyler answered.
Captain Terry then gasped that she covered her mouth. With tears falling, she ran over to Tyler and hugged him.
"Captain Terry?" Tyler confused.
This scene made the Squid Sisters, Co-Captain Taylor, Frye, and Shiver jealous before Captain Terry said, "Tyler, I can't believe it. I thought I never see you again. The police reported you were dead. But I knew I felt something familiar about you from the first time I saw you."
"Have we met before?"
"I'm your cousin, Terry Tetra. I used to babysit you while Uncle Samson and Aunt Thorn researched. I can't believe how much you've grown."
"COUSIN?!" said everyone around the pair.
This shocked Tyler in disbelief before he went through a memory. He remembered when he was eight years old while being held by 14-year-old Terry. He happily waved goodbye to his parents when they went out. The two are seen doing fun activities together, like jumping on the couch, eating ramen together, practicing turf war on the swings at a park, and watching the sunset on the roof of the house.
Tyler then cried while hugging Terry, "I can't believe it! Cousin Terry, I miss you so much. Even I thought you looked familiar to me too. This is a miracle."
"Well, how about that? I just brought two long-lost cousins back together. I'm glad I heard Tyler," said Squid Cuttlefish, as Sammy joined in the hug by hopping into Terry's arms.
"(Big Cousin Terry!)" he said happily.
"He called you his cousin," said Tyler.
"Aw, I love you too, Sammy," said Terry.
As Tyler, Sammy, and Terry laughed with each other, Big Man started to cry and said, "Aaay, Aaay. (I love family reunions.)."
But Terry and Sammy get pushed aside, for the Squid Sisters hug Tyler side by side.
"Thanks for saving Gramps and the world, Tyler," they said before kissing his cheek to leave magenta and lime green kiss marks.
Before he can react, the Squid Sisters are pulled away for Frye to hug from behind, and Shiver hugs him in the front.
"We should battle again sometime," said Frye, kissing Tyler's forehead, which left a yellow kiss mark.
"I hope you'll let me win next time. That would be sweet," said Shiver before kissing Tyler's chin and leaving a blue kiss mark.
"I appreciate the rewards you've given me, but it's healthy to get along like teammates," said Tyler, rubbing the kisses away.
But the Squid Sisters, Frye and Shiver said while hugging him tightly with hearts in their eyes, "Aw, he's playing hard to get."
"Run!" Taylor, Corey, and Prince Octavius warned Taylor.
Quickly, Tyler gets free from the hug and runs away, but the Squid Sisters, Frye, and Shiver start to give chase around the Battle Lobby Tower.
"No! No! Stop! Get away! I'm too young to love!" Tyler shouted in fear.
"Tyler! So hot! So cool! Marry me! Be my boyfriend! So yummy! Be my mate! Kiss me!" they yelled in joy.
"Young Squids and Octos these days," said Squid Cuttlefish.
"Tell me about it. Usually, it's the guys who chased the girls back in our days," said DJ Octavio.
"Should we help him?" Corey said.
"He'll be fine," said Chris, starting to kiss Corey's lips as Owen and Prince Octavius ate ramen together.
"As for Deep Cut, I herby dub Frye, Shiver, and Big Man as Agents 5, 6, and 7," said Terry, while holding Sammy, and Taylor put his arm around her.
"Aaay! Ay? (Thank you! Did you hear that Frye and Shiver?)" said Big Man.
"Can't talk!" Frye shouted.
"I'm in love!" Shiver added.
"(Oh, well. Gotta help my Big Bro.)" said Sammy before Tyler ran past him.
He gets in the way of the Squid Sisters, Frye, and Shiver to trip and fall. With them out cold, Tyler picked up Sammy happily before they turned to look at the sunset with everyone. THE END
