Chapter 5: His real name revealed! The man who shouldn't exist!
"Boss do you even know about this island?" one of Hope's subordinates asked as he stepped onto the well made stone dock.
"Looks like it belongs in a film about King Arthur" Hope mumbled, looking around at the medieval themed buildings that surrounded the dock.
"Here the marines pass on their authority to soldiers dressed in armor, they call themselves knights" Hood explained as he walked to Hope's side with his hands crossed, clearly not impressed by the architecture.
Though where there was a castle, there usually was treasure. Hope grinned and held both his arms out. "I smell profit!"
"Profit? What do you mean?" Hood questioned as the rest of the crew started to shuffle off the ship.
"Think about it Ed" Hope stated with a teasing grin as Hood glared at him, he wasn't ready for his name to be revealed around the crew. "Where's there's Royalty… there's riches!"
"That…" He replied as more of the crew started to pour into the dock. "...Makes sense"
Hope noticed the steel plated patrol of soldiers walking towards him and his crew, a confrontation was going to be inevitable. He considered passing as simple merchants… but he didn't know how smart the locals were. The leader of the Knights stopped in front of Hope with his subordinates following suit. "In accordance with Her Majesty Victoria's wishes, all docked vessels must state their purpose and intended length of stay to a Royal Knight."
Hope grinned, slinging his spear across his shoulder. "Name's Hope… I'm a pirate captain"
The Knight looked at Hope with a blank metal face, not sure if he was joking or not. "Uhhh right? Where's your Jolly Roger then?"
"That's the thing! I Don't know what to call my crew… Hope Pirates sounds too tacky y'know?" Hope replied as the rest of the crew made their way to their captain's back. "Ahhh who cares right now… hand over all your Nobel's treasure!"
"I guess they are pirates… captain?" one of the knights questioned, waiting on orders from his superior.
"Quick question? Why do I see no women dressed in armor? Surely there are other units with girls in them?" Hope questioned with a raised hand.
The captain drew his sword, and his subordinates did so as well. "I shall not give over our treasury so easily to pirate scum!"
Hope turned around to his crew and smiled. "See if you can beat them without damaging their armor, it would be useful for some of you"
The captain swung at Hope's back with full intent of striking him down, yet before Hope took the opportunity to dodge he saw Revy pull out her gun from the back of the crew and fire it at the Knight.
Hope grinned as the Knight Captain fell to the ground, dead. "Good shot Revy… though I did ask you to keep the armor intact?"
Revy spat onto the ground as the rest of the knights panicked. "The helmets aren't worth the effort of keeping"
"A valid point" Hope replied as Revy ran past him, mowing down the knights efficiently and ruthlessly.
Revy scoffed as the gunfire ceased and the rest of Knights fell onto the ground. A performance which caused Hope to clap. "Very good! Now strip them of their armor and put it onto the ship!"
""Yes Captain"" The crew replied as Hope walked up to Revy and placed a hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at him, not surprised when she saw his smiling face, lacking the menace she was used to.
"You're actually a lot better than I thought you were… Good Job Revy" Hope complimented, his perception of strength was very warped due to his knowledge of what stood at the peak of this world. Random mercs from the North Blue didn't usually stand out in the grand scheme of things.
"Uh? Thanks?" Revy said as Hope stepped in front of her, hiding the grin on his face. The presences he sensed from out in the ocean were stronger, much stronger.
"Hood, Revy… take the crew and find out where all the treasure is" Hope ordered as he gripped his spear with more strength. "I have something I want to investigate"
"Wait! Why me and the creepy hood guy?" Revy asked but it was too late, Hope had leapt into the air, shocking them with his ability to walk on the air and the speed he did it with. "Ugh! Why I agreed to follow him was beyond me!"
"H-How can he do that?" Hood asked, breaking his serious character for awe at his captain's physical abilities.
"Beats me" Revy grumbled as she turned to the crew, who had finished stripping the armor off the Knights. "We need to find the treasure trove Hoodie Boy… or should I say Ed?"
"Ed?" Hood asked, slightly gripping his cutlasses in preparation for an attack.
"It's what I heard Hope call you before" Revy replied, her hands slipping down to her guns. "I don't care for who you are even if I have no clue who or what you are… but don't ever think of drawing on me"
"When people know my identity they tend to become… greedy" Ed replied slowly, taking his hands away from his cutlasses. "Hope isn't greedy in that sense… at least that's what my gut tells me"
Revy grinned as she looked down at her holstered guns. "I don't have a read on that man… even his aura changes with his mood. Which is unique"
Ed became intrigued. "Aura? What do you mean?"
"You know… the colors surrounding people" Revy explained as she pointed at Hood. "Yours, while small is a navy blue"
"I've never heard of this before" Hood replied as he stroked his stubbled chin.
"Hope seemed to know what I was talking about" Revy replied as she looked toward the crew, all their auras where smaller than Hood's.
"The Captain knows alot more about this world than he lets on" Hood replied as he tried to look for this aura that Revy was talking about.
"Is that distrust I sense? For our Captain? How amusing" Revy teased as she walked past Hood with her hands on her hips.
Hood shook his head. "He is a man worth following"
Revy snorted. "I'm sure that means the world to him"
Hope gracefully landed at the foot of a small rock with a longsword plunged into it. One of the powerful auras that he sensed was being emitted from this blade. He had never seen a named sword in his life, but his untrained eye knew that this sword was one of the best in the world.
Hope snorted. "It really is out of a King Aurthur movie"
"You'd be a fool to try and unseal that blade young man" the voice of a villager stated, gaining the interest of Hope, maybe he would learn some lore.
"Brush me up on why it wouldn't work" Hope asked, he had a few theories in mind if this sword was what he thought it was.
"Excalibur is a blade that only the worthy can wield" The man explained as the other bigger presence started to come towards him.
"In other words…" Hope began as he turned and walked over to the handle of the blade. "The qualities of a king?"
"Precisely" The old man replied as Hope reached out to the handle, small sparks of black and red lightning coiling around his hand.
"Simple enough" Hope replied before switching his stance to block an oncoming attack, one which was much faster than it should have been. A hardened black foot made contact with Hope's guard and sent him back a couple of meters with a grin on his face.
"And so the other appears" Hope mumbled as he drew his spear properly. "I Hope you're ready to throw down"
Short blonde hair, crystal blue eyes and a neatly trimmed beard that resemble english nobility. Hope's attacker looked at him with a leveled glare. "Black hair and yellow eyes… you look familiar"
"I get that alot… I do take after my dad" Hope replied as he sensed more, smaller presences circling him, thirteen to be exact.
The stranger gripped Excalibur's hilt, the same coloured spark coiled around his hand. "State your name and purpose stranger"
"I'm Hope, a pirate captain" Hope replied as the followers made themselves visible. "I'm here to recruit you… King Arthur"
Hope caught the look of shock on his opponent's eyes. The look of understanding and then the grin. The old man who was watching on the side furrowed his brows. "There has never been a King named Arthur"
"I'm guessing there is no round table as well?" Hope asked, somewhat disappointed that this wasn't lore.
"Round what?" The old man asked.
The blonde attacker smirked. "The Round Table… It's not something that you would understand"
"So do you want to fight now… or talk now? Either way you're going to lose" Hope asked as the thirteen surrounding him drew their swords, all of which had a distinct aura to them.
"My name is Silvers Arthur… you would do your best to surrender Hope" the attacker stated getting only a smirk from his opponent.
"Your family name doesn't scare me" Hope replied as Arthur drew Excalibur from the stone. "You should call off your faithful knights"
"Sacred of an unfair fight?" Arthur taunted as his knights charged towards Hope, who stood there unfazed.
"Their bodies would get in the way of our duel" Hope replied as he sent the attacking knights a glare.
They stood there, frozen. They hadn't felt this sensation from anyone else but their leader. "Get. Lost"
Hope found himself amused when they did not fall unconscious, though he did limit his Haki tremendously. He observed as they retreated, allowing their leader, Arthur to take centre stage. "To think that there was another user of Conqueror's Haki roaming the North Blue four years before it all started… how amusing"
"Lets see if your knowledge can help you" Hope taunted as he leapt up into the air. "Because I'm sure that I know more than you!"
Revy turned around, she had sensed Hope's Aura expand tremendously. She didn't even know that she had the ability to sense auras until that very moment. She froze, small beads of cold sweat dripping down her face. She didn't even need to turn around to see the surrounding members of the crew drop down to their knees, the surrounding civilians looking around in fear.
"W-What's that bastard gotten himself into now?" Revy asked no one in particular as Ed laughed from behind her.
"I don't know how… but I just felt Hope" Hood explained as he walked towards Revy and sighed. "He really is a one in a million isn't he?"
Revy nodded as she turned around to look at the rest of the crew, who were slowly getting up onto their feet. "Maybe that was him telling us to hurry up"
"Let's not keep the Captain waiting then! You hear that you bastards?" Hood shouted as the crew stood at what was as close as a pirate could get to an 'at attention' stance.
The crew roared in response as Hood started to run towards the biggest stone building in the town.
Revy watched as Ed's aura expanded… not like she felt Hope's but became larger as he lead the crew towards a robbery. She smirked, her blood was pumping. There was nothing a good old fashion robbery could fix.
