CHAPTER 4: The Trainer, Fire Dragon and Ugly #2

(Last chapter was a bit of a roller coaster ride. Jay and all of his Pokémon became a part of Fairy Tail after Makarov pointing out some true facts and reasons. Then Mirajane offered him to stay at her place, much to Elfman's in difference. Everything was chill, until Max and Warren asked Jay a question that ended up with him revealing a bit about his past experiences with the Evil Teams. Afterwards Mira and Elfman took Jay to their home for the night, and everyone headed to bed, except for Mirajane since she had one last thing to do.) *Mira gives Jay a kiss on the cheek then walks away, while swaying her hips out of the room and just before closing the door she turns back to him and winks.* "…Nani da fuck?" (OH MY~! Now that's sending a signal, isn't it? But will our hero pick up on it?)

(3rd PoV)
The sun had begun to rise over the horizon, signalling the start of a new day. We then transition over to the Strauss household and looking through a window we see our stories hero, still sleeping. That is until the sun's rays hit him in the face, slowly stirring him awake.
"Hm." Jay groaned, trying to keep his grip on his peaceful slumber by placing is right arm over his eyes to block out the sun but failing. Until he has no choice but to wake up and open his eyes. "That isn't my rooms ceiling *looks at arm and see's his Guild mark*…oh yeah. Different world, different house." he mumbled in remembrance. Jay then stretches to help wake his body up and gets out of the bed.
"Rotom." Jay called, then out of his bag came his Rotom Phone.
"Bzzt! Good morning, Jay. Did you sleep well? Bzzt!" Rotom asked.
"I slept fine. Did you get your update done?" I asked it. Since Rotom was getting an update maintenance, which started when I called my mom the first time, it was in shut down mode. Therefore, couldn't introduce it to everyone at the time.
"Bzzt! Yup, all updated and done. But where are we? This doesn't look like your room. Bzzt!" Rotom asked while looking around the room.
"Ah yes, guess I should fill you in on what happened when you started your update." I said then proceeded to do just that. Afterwards it was shocked and depressed.
"Bzzt! To think that Arceus, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina were all in the same place at the same time. Such a missed opportunity to get a picture. Bzzt!" it lamented.
"Right but remember Rotom. While we're here, you must refer the Pokémon moves as magic spells, okay?" I urged the living phone/Pokédex who immediately snapped to attention.
"Bzzt! I understand and have already made adjustments to my memory banks Jay. Bzzt!" Rotom said informed him.
"Good. Now then, lets get breakfast ready for everyone." Jay said standing up, grabbing his bag and heading out the bedroom door.
(Jay's PoV)
While making our way to the kitchen, I noticed we we're the only ones up. I didn't know if the time zone was the same here, so I turned to Rotom.
"Rotom, what is the current time?" I asked it. Rotom brought up the clock feature on its screen.
"Bzzt! The current time is 5:50 am. Bzzt!" it answered. Checking outside the window, I noticed it was correct.
"So, our worlds times are pretty much the same. That's good to know." I said. That way encase if I wanted to call someone in my world the time wouldn't be messed up.
"Welp, better get started." I said while continuing onward to the kitchen. After finding it everything seemed, well normal. All the appliances seemed just like the ones in my home. I figured since this world relies on magic for pretty much everything, I wasn't expecting it to be like this. When I walked over to the stove, I turned the dial, and a flame came up on the grill.
"Okay. Even if they're powered differently, they still operate the same way." I concluded. Then that means I'll have no trouble cooking some breakfast. After looking through the fridge and pantry, I planned on what to make and got to work.
(Mirajane's PoV)
I began to wake up and stretched. I had a good sleep, where I dreamed about being saved again by my hero but not directly. It started out as a nightmare of THAT day, but instead of how it went before Jay appeared and saved HER while stopping ITS rampage. When I awoke part of me wished it was real, but it wasn't. I wish she was here, especially if it meant meeting Jay. I know they would have gotten along right away. She maybe even started falling for him, of course I wouldn't make it easy for her, fu fu. With that thought I get out of bed and had to my door. After opening it I yawn.
"Big Sis?" I hear Elfman and look to see him in the hallway.
"Good morning, Elfman." I greeted him.
"But if you're just getting up then who's cooking?" he asked. Giving him a confused look, I then noticed a delicious aroma. We followed the scent all the way to the kitchen when I started to hear a tune. Looking around the corner I see it was Jay cooking breakfast.
"*Humming the Pokémon theme song while flipping pancakes* Get ready Rotom. Final one incoming." Jay warned…someone who answered.
"Bzzt! Acknowledged Jay. Ready to intercept. Bzzt!" someone said before Jay tossed it over his shoulder and landing on a plate. "Bzzt! Bullseye. Nine for nine! Bzzt!"
"Nice! A perfect score!" Jay says while fist pumping and turning off the stove. That's when he noticed us. "Oh, good morning you two."
"Ah, good morning, Jay." I greeted him back.
"Did you make all this yourself?" Elfman asked.
"Sure did. I thought it was the least I could do." Jay said.
On the table was three plates with three pancakes each, some type of cut up berries on the side and orange juice.
"Wow, all of this looks so good." I complimented. I see a small blush on his face.
"It's nothing much, really." he tried brushing the praise off.
"By the way Jay, who where you talking to just know?" I asked him.
"Oh, that's right you hadn't met yet. Rotom, come here." Jay called out and an adorable little red rectangle pop up.
"Bzzt! You called Jay? Bzzt!" it asked.
"Yes, met Mirajane and her little brother Elfman. The ones I told you about letting us stay at their home." he said.
"Bzzt! Ah yes, greetings Mirajane and Elfman! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rotom, a Pokémon that helps Jay whenever I can. Bzzt!" Rotom introduced.
"Are you one of Jay's Pokémon too?" I asked it.
"Yeah, I thought you showed everyone all your Pokémon yesterday." Elfman said.
"That's because Rotom isn't really my Pokémon per say. He's more of a companion or a helper." Jay explained. "He's still a wild Pokémon, just raised and tamed to help people. He acts as my Pokédex."
"Pokédex?" I asked. "What's that?"
"Think of it as an encyclopedia for all known Pokémon." Jay said.
"So, this little guy has all information about every single Pokémon?" Elfman asked surprised.
"Yup. *Popping the p*" Jay confirmed.
"That's amazing!" I said then asked "What else can it do?"
"Anything my phone can do." he answered.
"What's a phone?" I asked.
"It's a device that let's me talk to people from far away. Like back home." Jay explained.
"Oh, like a communication Lacrima!" I said while he looked at me.
"Ah, if that's what you use to talk to people far away then yes." Jay said.
"Hey, what type of berries are these? I don't recognize it." Elfman asked.
"Not surprising, since they're from my homeland." Jay explained. "I was hoping to plant some seeds to grow some berry trees. Since the berries have medical properties when consumed and can be turned into medicine themselves."
"Really?" I asked then pointed at the diced-up fruit "Then what are these one's?"
"The blue one is Oran Berries and the yellow is Sitrus Berries. Both are used to restore vitality." Jay answered.
"That's amazing. You could sell them and make a fortune." Elfman said.
"Not really no." Jay said catching our attention.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because they only work on Pokémon." he revealed. "To us humans, they're no different than normal fruits. And since there aren't any health care places for Pokémon in Fiore, these are the only thing I have for them."
"That's a good point." I said thinking. While the Pokémon are amazing, they are still living creatures that can no doubt get sick and severely hurt.
"But I can worry about that later, since I have more than enough on me at the current moment." Jay said while grabbing his plate and heading to the front door.
"Where are you going?" Elfman asked.
"Oh, I always eat breakfast with my team." he said. "It's a little bit small in here, so I was going to head outside."
"Well, how about we join you." I suggested with a smile then turned to Elfman "That's not a problem, right Elfman?"
"Uh, well actually I" he tried to say before looking at my face.
"Right Elfman?" I repeated with a bit more strain.
"N-no, big sis, it's no problem at all." he whimpered.
"Good, then let's go." I cheered.
(Jay's Pov)
"O~kay then." I said after seeing the exchange with a raised eyebrow. Not sure what that was all about, but whatever. I grabbed my bag on the way out with the Strauss siblings following behind, one happier than the other. After stepping outside, I placed my food on the step and began to rummage through my bag to grab everyone's bowls that had chibi versions of their faces to show who's is who's and preferred food. While I was doing this the sister brother duo were watching me pull out the food containers.
"So, that's the food you give your Pokémon?" Mira asked.
"Yup. It's made with a blend of different berries and other ingredients that they like, as well as their preferred tastes." I explained.
"Preferred tastes?" Elfman asked.
"You know how people like different things? I'm sure you two like something the other doesn't, right?" I said to them as they nod. "Well, it's like that. For example, Striker likes spicey food, while Tempest likes sweet food. Everyone has a different taste. As a Pokémon Trainer it's on me to ensure they are best taken care of, that includes food."
"You really care for them a whole lot, don't you." Mira said kindly with a smile.
"Yeah, I do." I said after pouring and setting the food apart from one another. "They've always been by my side, ever step of the way after adding them to my family. They trust me, just as much as I trust them." I reach into my pockets pulling out my Pokémon, looking at the balls that contain them. "I wouldn't where I am nor the person today if it weren't for them. We trainers may raise and teach them, but they do just as much as the same to us as well." I finish while looking at Mira and Elfman. Both faces in awe at my speech. "And with that being said. Breakfast time everyone!" I said throwing the balls into the air. With multiple pops, my Pokémon appear in front of us.
"About time. I'm starving damnit." Tempest growled.
"Oh relax, will you." Venom said.
"Yeah, you're not gonna die from waiting a bit dude." Sans crackled.
"Alright that's enough teasing Tempest." I said.
"Hmph." Tempest grunted and hopped to his bowl.
Everyone followed suite and started eating their breakfast. As we ate, we watched the sun continue to rise in the sky. I was also thinking where a good place might be to look for the Plates. Which reminds me, I've yet to look at a map of Earthland, let alone Fiore. Maybe I can do that once we get to the Guild Hall today.
"So what's the plan for today J-man?" my go-to Pokémon asked.
"Well, I was thinking of getting a look at map to get myself familiarized with Fiore's landmass. Then perhaps choosing a quest to do and start searching for the Plates." I answered him.
"Hm *nods*. That's a good plan." Silver agreed.
"Jaw agree." Jaw said.
"That is a good idea. If the Plates are scattered all over Fiore like you said, then taking quest will allow you to travel to different places to look for them." Mirajane said.
"Yeah and we'll help you in any way we can." Elfman said giving me a thumbs up.
"Thanks." I said with a smile.
"By the way, what do the Plates look like anyways?" Mira asked.
"Hm. I guess the best way to describe them would be…different colored stones with ancient writing on them that are the size of books." I explained the best I could. (Is that how you describe them, because if someone has a better way, please feel free to write it in the reviews. I would honestly like to know thank you.)
"You have to find something the size of a BOOK that could be anywhere in Fiore?" Elfman asked comically astonished.
"Y~up." I said, popping the p.
We sat there in silence, until Mira asked me a question that took me by surprise.
"Jay?" I turned to her. "Why did you choose Striker as your starter?" Even my Pokémon turned to look at her. "You said that new Trainers can choose up to three different starting Pokémon. So why him?"
I turn to look up at the sky. "It's because of my dad." I say. "He was always a fan of Fire-Type Pokémon and said I should choose Scorbunny, that was Striker's current form at the time. I chose him as a tribute to my dad."
The two Strauss were quiet at that response. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, looking I find it's Elfman's doing.
"I think that your father would be very proud of you." he said making my eyes widen. "Think back on all that you have done up to this point. You took on great personal challenges and defeat powerful villains, saving the world multiple times. He would be proud of the man you have become."
I just look at that man, taking in what he said and smiled. "Thank you, Elfman."
He smiles wide and gives me a thumbs up. "No problem, buddy."
"Well, I think now would be a good time to get cleaned up then head to the Guild." Mirajane said after watching the bromance between us guys.
"Yeah, that might be a good idea. Just let me take the dishes inside first." I said after returning my Pokémon.
"Aw, thank you Jay." Mira said while giving me a smile and a wink.
My mind flashed back to last night, remembering what she did. "Ah, i-it's no trouble. I d-did make breakfast so I s-should be the one to clean up." I stuttered with a blush before heading inside.
"What was that about?" Elfman asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I have no idea." Mira lied with a giggle, knowing exactly why.
(3rd PoV)
After that was done. Jay, Mira and Elfman headed to the Guild Hall for the day. They passed by lots of people, getting and giving morning greetings.
"You know. I never asked what you all typically do at the Guild Hall. Does everyone go out on quests?" Jay asked.
"No, not everyone or everyday. People just relax and socializes with one another." Mira says. "Though there are days when everyone can get a bit…'rowdy' shall we say."
"Rowdy?" he asks.
"As in everyone fights to see who is the MANLIEST in the Guild." Elfman answers while flexing.
"Wait so, you all just decide to have a royal rumble at the drop of a hat at any time?" Jay asks.
"Yup, pretty much." Mira said while smiling.
"Not really sure how to respond to that." he said.
All talking about the current topic was dropped as the three had arrived at their Guild. Elfman opened the doors, allowing them inside and seeing those who are already there.
"Good morning, everyone." Mirajane greeted, alerting everyone to their presence.
"Mornin Mira, Elfman and Jay." Wakaba waved at them.
"Hey Elfman! Bout time you got here!" R.M.M said. (Random Male Member)
"Good morning, Mira. Did you sleep well?" R.F.M asked (Random Female Member)
"Yo Jay, ready for your first day as a Fairy Tail wizard?" Max called out.
Everyone else gave their own greetings to the three. Elfman went his own way to talk to some of the male members. While Jay and Mirajane headed to the bar and saw Makarov sitting on the countertop.
"Good morning, Master." both greeted him.
"Ah, Mira and Jay. How are you two doing this fine morning?" he asked them.
"Nothing to complain about so far." Jay said.
"Ha ha, that's good to hear my boy. So, what are you up to today?" the Master responded.
"Jay wanted to memorize a map of Fiore, so I'm showing him the way to our library." Mirajane said.
"Well, that sounds like an excellent idea. Best to get yourself familiarized with our lands; I approve of your insight Jason." Makarov complimented.
"Thank you, Master." Jay smiled while rubbing the back of his head.
"I was about to head out on a morning walk myself." Makarov said as he jumped down "I won't keep you two." and three started walking away from each other…until a female wizard walked up to the Master and gave him a message.
"Master, you have a message from the Magic Council." R.F.M informed him, causing him to flinch.
"Damnit." he grunted before changing directions and headed to his office.
Over to Jay and Mira, they were also stopped, by Levy.
"Excuse me, Jay? Can I ask you something?" Levy asked.
"Well, you already did, but I guess you can ask another one." Jay joked, causing the two girls to giggle. "Jokes aside, what's up?"
"Well, I was wondering if, maybe I could cuddle with Mimi. If that's alright with you." she asked nervously.
"Sure, I don't have a problem with it. Plus, I think she would enjoy it too." he said while pulling Mimi's ball out and unleashing the Ghost/Fairy Type.
"*squeals*! I can't get over how cute she is! Thanks Jay!" Levy says while scooping and hugging Mimi. Mimi was happy too. The only ones to ever show her affection was Jay and the other Pokémon.
"You really like Mimi, don't ya?" he asked amused and Mira giggling.
"How can I not. She's just so cute." Levy said while cuddling the Disguise Pokémon.
"Well, like I said before. Take good care of her, okay?" Jay said as he and Mirajane continued.
"Don't worry, she's in good hands." Levy said while heading back to her table.
Afterwards they had arrived at the library.
"Wow, you got a lot in here." Jay said looking around.
"Yup, this room also holds the Guilds records too." Mira said looking for the desired map. "Here we go."
She places the map on the table in the middle of the room and unfolds it. (Goggle 'Earthland Fiore')
"Here it is." Mira said with Jay stepping beside her.
"Thanks Mira." Jay said looking at it.
"No problems." she said while putting her arms behind her back and leaning forward a bit, pushing her chest on his arm. "Just let me know if you need anything else, okay." Mira purred while giving Jay a flirty smile.
"Ah, o-okay." Jay responded, blushing. Mira then straightened up.
"Great, see you later." Mira said, leaving the room.
Jay could only blink, then hid his face in his hands.
(Jay's PoV)
"Why does she do that. Is she actually into me, or just messing with me?" I groaned. I decide to simply push those thoughts in the 'deal with it later' folder and start memorizing the map.
(2 hours later)
"Finally done." I said slamming my head on the table. It wasn't easy making sure every ridge and name was remembered. Which train track went to which town. Now with that out of the way I realise I'm pretty hungry, maybe I ca-*CRASH!*
"What the hell was that?!" I exclaimed before rushing out and bolting towards the main hall. "Are we being attacked?!" Great first day as a Fairy Tail member and I fight off an invasion. I turn the corner to see…everyone beating the absolute shit out of each other.
"…huh, guess it's one of those days." I said.
"I know right, this is why I don't date the men here because they have no class." I hear Cana say as I turn to her…only to see her start drinking from a barrel.
"You're the last person to talk about having class." I deadpan at her
"Come here and fight me Natsu!" I heard Gray yell who was in his boxers again, wait who's Natsu?
"Not until you put some clothes on!" a guy with pink hair and a white scarf yelled back. Never mind guess that's him.
"It's only noon and you boys are already whining like spoiled babies." Elfman said. Both Natsu and Gray turned around and punched him so hard he went flying across the hall.
"Damn, and there he goes." I said watching it happen.
"Geez, it's so noisy around here, huh?" Loki said while two girls were snuggling with him…until a glass cup bounces off his head. I nearly burst out laughing while one of the girls asks if he's alright. "I'm gonna go fight, only to protect you two." he said as they wished him luck.
"Yeah right, saw how you really feel." I said rolling my eyes.
"What the hell is wrong with these people? There's not one sane in the whole place." I hear a girl say. Wait hold up, bitch say what?!
"OI, I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT!" I yell at her while turning in her direction. (The Trainer used rage)
"Ah, I'm sorry!" she screamed looking at me. She had blonde hair with a blue ribbon in it.
"Oh, calm down Jay, I don't think she meant you personally. Hello, are you new here?" Mirajane said walking up to us with a tray of beer on it.
"It's Mirajane! In the flesh!" Blondie fangirled. "Um don't you think we should try to stop them of something?" she then asked.
"My thoughts exactly." I agreed.
"It's always like this around here. I just leave them alone, besides-" "LOOK OUT!" Mira was saying before I interrupted her by pushing her out of the way before Elfman was thrown into her. "It's kinda fun don't you think?" she finished with a smile like her little brother wasn't just yeeted at her.
"How in the hell is this considered fun?!" I demanded looking at her.
Before Blondie could say anything, Gray crashed into her and heard chuckling. I look to see Natsu swinging around- wait are those…please sweet Arceus no. "Give me back my underwear jerk!" yup, they are. Reluctantly, I turn to face where he is as he's asking Blondie to borrow her underwear, only to get smacked with a paper fan she pulled out of…somewhere. Then Loki came in to sweep her literally sweep her off her feet saying how a woman has needs, only for Elfman to shoryuken his ass saying real men speak with their fists and ends off with Natsu kicking him away and a blue cat saying- WAIT BLUE CAT?!
"Ugh, it's so loud, so much for having a drink to relax." Cana complained before pulling a card out. "That's enough you guys. I suggest that you knock it off." she warned as a sigil came out of the card. Guess that's her magic.
"Oh yeah, says who?" Gray asked, starting up his own magic.
Elfman gave off a yell as he used his Take Over magic giving himself a stone arm.
"You punks can be such a nuisance." Loki said as he activated what I'm guessing is ring magic.
"I'm ready for ya." Natsu said as his fists became engulfed in flames.
Okay, hell to the no! If these people start throwing magic into this brawl, the whole Guilds gonna blow up! I turn to Mira and Blondie.
"Get behind me now!" I ordered them which they do.
"What are you going to do?" Blondie asked a bit worried.
"This." I said as I held my arms to the side while gathering electricity in them. "Thunder Wave!" I yelled and clapped them together, unleashing the Electric Type Status Move. It traveled and hits everyone making them stop in their tracks, before they fall to the ground with sparks coming off their bodies.
"There, that's done." I said wiping my hands.
"My hero, saving the day again." Mira giggled causing me to blush a bit.
"They always fight like this?" Blondie asked while holding the blue cat up as a shield.
"Uh-huh, well I'm not sure about the guy who stopped them cause he's new." the blue cat said.
"At least someone did." she sighed.
Before I could say anything else- *STOMP* a freaking shadowy giant appeared.
"Would you fools stop bickering like children!" it commanded.
"He's huge!" Blondie exclaimed while my eyes went wide. Why didn't I notice it before!? I would've seen it coming a mile away! If everyone wasn't paralysed before, they would've been frozen now. Damn, maybe I shouldn't have done that then. Looks like it's up to me and my team to-
"Oh, I'm sorry Master. I didn't know you were still here." Mirajane apologized with a smile, causing him to look at her.
"Did you say Master?!" Blondie exclaimed in shock.
'Wait, that's freaking Makarov?! Does his magic make himself grow bigger?!' I thought.
"What's everyone laying on the ground for, what a bunch of babies. Looks like I won this round." Natsu cheered while managing to get up and laughing… until Makarov stepped on him.
"*squeak*" went Blondie and it got Master's attention.
"Well, it seems we've got a new recruit." he observed.
"Yes sir." Blondie said terrified.
Makarov started letting out his energy and began to shrink. The girl was shocked at his true size then he gave her a greeting.
"Nice to meet ya." Master said.
"He's tiny! This little guy's really in charge here?" she asked.
"Of course he is. Allow me to introduce the Fairy Tail Guild Master, Makarov." Mira said.
"Also Jay. I commend you for stopping everyone, but can you please heal them from whatever it is you used?" Makarov asked.
"Sure thing Master." I said before raising my hand up. "Heal Bell!" I yelled as bells appeared over everyone and healed their statues. Everyone started to get up.
"Wow, that was so cool." Blondie said.
"Thank you, my boy." Makarov thanked before jumping and somersaulting onto the second level railing…only to slam the back of his head into it. I cringed hard seeing it happen. He got up and cleared his throat, while everyone looked to him.
"You've gone and done it again; you bunch of clods. Just take a look at how much paperwork the Magic Council sent me this time." he said while showing a large stack of paper sheets. "This is the biggest pile of complaints yet. Have you lost your minds? All you kids are good for is getting the higher-ups mad at me!"
Everyone looked down or off to the side in shame. Since I was still new to the Guild and didn't know how things are done around here, I kept quiet. Makarov was growling until "However…" he lit the paper on fire then smirked "I say to heck with the Magic Council." and tossed the fire into the air. I don't know what shocked me more. Master disregarding the Magic Council or Natsu jumping at the fire and EATING it.
"Now listen up. Any power that surpasses reason still comes from reason, right? Magic isn't some kind of miraculous power. It is a talent that only works when the flow of energy inside of us and the flow of energy in the natural world perfect synchronization." Makarov started saying and everyone was paying attention. "To perform magic, one must have a strong mind and the ability to focus. It should take over your being and come pouring out of your soul. If all we do is worry about following rules then our magic will never progress. Don't let those blowhards on the council scare you, follow the path you believe in. Cause that's the Fairy Tail Guild, number one!" he finished while he and everyone else put their right hands up in an L shape as they cheered.
I was in awe at his speech. So that's what it means to be a member of Fairy Tail. To follow the path, you believe in. Maybe joining was a wise decision after all. When everything settled down and got cleaned up, I learned the new girls was named Lucy. She met Natsu at a town called Hargeon. A little town port South of Magnolia. Lucy was a Celestial Mage. It was sort of like summoning. Anyways while she was getting her mark, I was sitting with Gray and some of the other guys.
"Does the Master always give speeches like that?" I asked.
"Not all the time, just when people need a bit of a lesson." Gray answered.
"Fair enough." I said.
"How come my dad wasn't come back yet?" I hear a voice ask. I turn to look at the bar to see Makarov looking at a young boy.
"You're starting to work my nerves, Romeo. You're a wizard's son, have faith in your father and wait patiently for him." Makarov said.
"But sir, he told me that he'd be back in three days, and he's been gone for over a week now." Romeo exclaimed.
"Hey, who's that kid?" I asked getting them to look.
"That's Romeo, he's a kid of one of our members named Macao. He took a job at Mount Hokabe to get rid of some Vulcans. Around 20 I think." R.M.M said.
"Vulcans? Like the one in the forest?" I asked.
"Nope, you see depending on where they are, Vulcans forms change to suit the climate." Gray explained.
'So, like a regional form.' I thought.
"Weird part is that should have been easy for him." R.M.M#2 said.
"Yeah, he should have been back by know." R.M.M said.
"JERK!" I hear Romeo yell and turn back to see him deck Makarov square in the face before running out of the Guild crying while yelling "I HATE YOU ALL!"
"Poor kid." R.M.M#3 said.
"He just needs to man up is all." Elfman said. "Macao will be back soon enough."
I just kept looking at the doors the kid ran out from. He wasn't any older than me when I lost my dad and I sure as hell wasn't about to let the chance happen to him. Just as I was standing up, I heard a crushing sound and turn to the request board to see Natsu had punched it.
"What do you think you're doing? You almost broke the board Natsu." Nab complained while Natsu walked away.
We all watch Natsu and Happy, the blue cat, walk toward Guild Hall entrance, and I go to join him but stop when I hear Gray.
"Hey, where you going? Don't tell me you're going too?" Gray asked.
"Yeah that's right, got a problem?" I asked without looking at them.
"Look, I know you haven't met him, but believe us. Macao is a tough guy who can take care of himself." Gray said.
"But what of he's hurt or in trouble and you all just sat here?" I asked back. This caused them to pause.
"My father always told me, 'If you can help someone in anyway, then do so.' That kids' dad might need help, so I'm going. I refuse to let a kid grow up without their dad." I said and preceded forward.
They could tell there was no stopping me, so they kept quiet and watched me leave. Over by the bar Makarov saw and heard the exchange. 'You don't want to chance the fact that Romeo would lose his father like you did.' he thought.
Outside I see Natsu pass by Romeo when I called out to him.
"Hey, wait up!" I called out getting their attention.
"Who are you?" Natsu asked.
"I think that's the new guy that joined the Guild yesterday. The one who paralyzed everyone earlier." Happy said.
"Yeah, that's right. My name is Jason Nox, but feel free to call me Jay." I introduced myself.
"Well, what do you want? Did you come to stop me?" he asked. I shake my head.
"No, I'm coming with you." I said surprising them as I stood beside Natsu.
"How come?" Happy asked.
"Because I know what it's like to lose a father." I said which surprises Natsu. "And I'll be damned if I let it happen to anyone else." I look back to Romeo "We'll bring your dad home, so sit tight alright kid."
Romeo just nodded which I returned and looked at Natsu and Happy.
"Ready to go?" I asked.
Natsu's grinned "Yeah." as Happy went "Aye" and off we went.
We were in a carriage that was taking us to Hokabe. I also quickly found out that Natsu gets motion sickness, poor guy. Luckily, I didn't need to endure it by myself.
"Ugh, why'd you come with us?" Natsu asked.
"I thought maybe I could help." Lucy said. Yup, Lucy came too for some reason. "Wow, you really do have a serious case of motion sickness, don't you? It's just another reason to feel sorry for you." she says.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Natsu asked offended.
"Oh nothing, forget I said anything." Lucy said.
"Right, cause they always do." I said, rolling my eyes then looking at Natsu trying to keep his lunch down. "Or maybe he will." I sweatdropped. Then the carriage stopped getting everyone's attention.
"I guess we're there." Lucy said.
"Alright we stopped moving!" Natsu cheered with Happy dancing beside him.
"I'm sorry but this is as far as I can get you." our driver said.
Both me and Lucy looked at each other.
"I have a bad feeling about this." I groaned. Turns out my feeling was right, because we stopped halfway up the mountain in the middle of a snowstorm!
"Where the heck are we Natsu?!" Lucy shouted over the wind while Happy was hanging on the door for dear life. "It's a frozen wasteland!"
Later we were walking through the path trying to find Macao. Strangely enough, I wasn't feeling the cold much. Guess it's thanks to the Flame Plate.
"Why is it so cold? I know we're on a mountain but it's summer right now! There shouldn't be a blizzard like this anywhere!" Lucy yelled.
"That's what you get for wearing light clothing." Natsu said.
"Oh please, you're not dressed for it! Now hand over that blanket!" Lucy demanded.
"Man, she just keeps on talking, huh?" Natsu said.
"Aye." Happy responded.
"Is that all you ever say?" I asked the cat.
"Oh, I know." Lucy exclaimed while pulling out a silver key that looked like it had a clock on it. "Open! Gate of the Clock Constellation! Horologium!" Lucy yelled. Then a sentient grandfather clock appeared.
"A clock. Whoa." Natsu said in awe.
"That is so cool." Happy said. Oh, so he can say other things.
"Gotta admit, that is pretty cool Lucy." I complimented Lucy looking at her, only to see she gone "Ah Lucy? Where'd you go?" I turn to the clock…and see her inside it causing me to sweatdrop. "Are you kidding me?"
She began to say something, but I couldn't hear her at all.
"Wait, we can't hear you." Natsu said.
"She says I'm staying in here and I'm not coming out." the clock translated.
"Then why'd you tag along?" Natsu asked.
"I'd like to know the answer to that question as well." I said.
"What kind of crazy job would force Macao to come to a place like this, she inquires." Horologium said.
"You should have asked that before you came with us." Natsu said.
"He came to slay some Vulcans, or as I like to call them 'big ugly ass monkeys'." I said.
"Nice." Happy complimented.
"Basically, there big monsters." Natsu said.
"There also HUGE perverts that go after women." I added.
Lucy just kept getting more worried.
"I want to go back to the Guild, she proclaims." Horologium said.
"Go ahead and be my guest, I say back." Natsu retorts. "Aye." Happy agrees.
"Look the faster we find Macao, the faster we get back, okay?" I spoke up.
After that we began searching for Macao again.
"MACAO! WHERE ARE YOU!" Natsu yell out.
"MACAO!" Happy yelled.
"CALL OUT OR SOMETHING IF YOU CAN HEAR US!" I yelled. Then I hear a sound coming from above. Looking up I saw a familiar face. "Natsu, above you!" I warned him. He looked up and dodged the Vulcans ambush attack.
"Thanks for the heads up, man." Natsu said.
"No problem." I said while getting into a stance beside him.
When the kicked-up snow clears, we see Ugly#2 in all his glory. Unlike Ugly#1 who was green fur and purple skin, this guy has white and black fur with gray skin.
"That's a big Vulcan!" Happy exclaimed.
"Naw. It's about the same height as the forest one who's ass I kicked yesterday." I compared.
Ugly#2 started sniffing around until it grinned and bolted in Lucy's direction.
"Crap, it's going after Lucy!" I said.
Lucy was trying to stay warm, until a noise and rocking made her open her eyes. Only to see Ugly#2 looking at her perversely.
"Me like human woman." Ugly#2 said freaking Lucy out.
"So it can talk huh." Natsu observed while palming his fist, making some flames come out.
"Now isn't the time to admire it." I told him before looking back…only to see the monkey carrying the clock away.
"Don't just stand there. Hurry up and save me, she yells furiously." Horologium said as Ugly#2 chuckled while disappearing in the snowstorm.
"…Arceus damnit." I mumbled. "Now how are we going to find them?" I asked Natsu.
"Easy, I'll sniff them out." he said as he began doing that.
"Sniff them out? What are you talking about?" I asked, thinking he's lost his mind.
"As a Dragon Slayer, Natsu's senses are on a whole other level." Happy said.
"Does that have to do with his magic?" I asked him.
"Aye. It's Lost Magic." Happy said.
"Wait, Natsu can use Lost Magic as well?" I asked shocked.
"Got the trail!" Natsu called out before rushing on ahead.
"Oi, wait for us damnit!" I called racing after him while grabbing Happy and putting him on my shoulders.
The trail ended up taking us to the summit of Hokabe to a cave. We ran inside where we heard Lucy.
"WHERE'D YOU GO HOROLOGIUM?! DON'T YOU DISAPPEAR ON ME!" she yelled.
"Sorry, but my time is up. Take care." Horologium said.
"GIVE ME AN EXTENSION, PLEASE!" Lucy cried.
We then saw them as Ugly#2 was about to grab her.
"Hey, you big ape!" Natsu called out "Where's Macao?! Tell me!"
"Natsu slow down or you're going to-" I tried to warn him, but he ends up slipping on the icy floor and crashes into the wall "slip."
"Whoa that wasn't cool. Why does he feel like he has to make an entrance all the time?" Lucy asked.
"Don't ask me, I just met you two today." I said.
"Spill it monkey. Where is my friend." Natsu said.
"Huh?" Ugly#2 gave him a confused look. I took the opportunity to get Lucy over to Natsu.
"You understand me, right? He's a human man. Now tell me where he is." Natsu explained.
"Hm?" Ugly#2 started to think. Did this thing really know where or who Macao was.
"That's right, where are you hiding him." Natsu demanded while pointing at him.
"Don't you think you might be jumping to conclusions?" Lucy asked.
"Man." Ugly#2 started to wave him over and point in a direction.
"Hey, I think he's gonna show me." Natsu said, racing over where he was pointing. "MACAO!" Natsu yelled out a hole that led out…side… oh shit.
"NO NATSU! IT'S A TRICK!" I tried to tell him but was too late. The Vulcan already palmed strike him out.
"MONKEY!" Natsu cried out in anger as he fell.
"Natsu!" Lucy yelled.
"No like men. Me like women." Ugly#2 said while dancing.
"This is bad. He can't survive out there." Lucy said.
"I now your worried about him, but we got problems here to." I said to her pointing at the monkey behind us who kept chanting women. Besides, Happy went to get him. Turns out even HAPPY can use magic to grow wings. Seriously, can everything in this world use magic?
"You're right." she said before throwing the blanket off. "Alright you pervy monkey. You're going down." Lucy declared while taking a golden key off her keyring. It looks like it had an axe at the bottom. "Open! Gate of the Golden Bull! Taurus!" a man-bull appeared with a huge axe on his back.
"Cow?" Ugly#2 asked.
"I should warn you monkey boy. Taurus is the most powerful celestial spirt that I have contract with." Lucy said.
"Oh, wow miss Lucy, I almost forgot what a nice figure you have. Why don't you come give me a smooch." Taurus said.
I look at the girl and ask "Really?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot he's a big perv too." she said, holding her head.
"No touch my women." Ugly#2 said getting Taurus's attention.
"Your women? That's fighting words you mooonkey." Taurus retorted.
"Well maybe this calls for a females touch." I said pulling the Net Ball out.
"What do you mean?" Lucy asked, thinking I meant her.
"Let's teach this monkey a lesson in manners Frost!" I called out my Shiny Bug/Ice Type. Frost appears as does the stars.
"I'm always ready to teach a brute manners Jay darling." Frost said.
"Whoa, what the heck is that?" Lucy asked in shock.
"Thing?!" Frost exclaimed.
"I'll explain later. For now, Frost use Quiver Dance!" I ordered. Frost began twirling and increased her Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Speed. "Now, get in close and use Bug Buzz!" In a blink Frost was in front of the Vulcan.
"Take this!" Frost said before unleashing the attack.
"ARGH!" Ugly#2 held his ears.
"Now Lucy, cut him down to size!" I told her.
"Get him." Lucy ordered her spirit.
Taurus took out his axe and was about to hit him…if it wasn't for Natsu kicking him out of nowhere.
"Natsu?!" both me and Lucy called out comically.
"Hey, so how come there are more monsters now than when I left?" Natsu asked while motioning at Taurus and Frost.
"Who are you calling a monster you thug?!" Frost yelled at him
"These are friend's dummy! The one you kick is one of my spirits. Wait a minute, how were you able to survive out there?" Lucy yelled than asked.
"His fire magic was keeping him warm." I said "As for how he survived the fall…" I trailed on.
"Happy came to save me." Natsu finished with a grin. Said cat was floating above our heads. "Thanks little buddy."
"Aye." Happy said.
"So you can't handle other modes of transportation, but flying with Happy's okay?" Lucy asked.
"Happy's a LIVING creature Lucy, not a machine." I pointed out. That's like saying flying on my Flying Type Pokémon would make me sick.
"That's a fair point." Lucy said.
"Plus, Happy's my friend." Natsu said weirded out at what she said.
It was at this point that Ugly#2 was getting pissed we were ignoring him.
"My women!" he shouted as he attacked Natsu, but he blocked it with one arm.
"You listen up. I consider everyone in the Fairy Tail Guild my friends." Natsu said. Ugly#2 kicked Natsu, but he crossed his arms and landed on his feet skidding backwards. "Whether it's gramps and Mira or even those annoying jerks Grey and Elfman." The Vulcan started charging at him.
"Frost, keep him in place with Ice Beam!" I commanded.
She unleashed it the Ice attack on Ugly#2's arms and legs, freezing him in place.
"Huh?!" Ugly#2 exclaimed while trying to break out.
"Get him Natsu." I said.
"Happy, Lucy and Jay too. They're all my friends." Natsu continued as he prepared his magic. I was shocked to hear that he already thinks of me as a friend. "Which is why I'm not leaving without Macao!" he finished as he gave Ugly#2 a flaming kick. Ugly#2 hit the ceiling causing icicles to fall off. Natsu smirked at him.
Ugly#2 got really ticked and smacked his hands together to blow all icicles at us. I pulled Lucy out of the way while telling Frost to dodge. Natsu just stood there and took it with his arms out wide.
"Your ice attack has no effect on fire!" he shouted. But as the smoke clears, we see Ugly#2 get his paws on Taurus's axe.
"That on the other hand might." I cringed.
"That's not good." Natsu said.
"He got Taurus's axe!" Lucy exclaims shocked. Over to Taurus, he was still knocked out.
Ugly#2 swung at Natsu, who backflipped out of the way. The Vulcan didn't give up though, as it keeps swinging at him again and again. Unfortunately, Natsu slipped on the icy floor again, causing him to fall flat on his back as the Vulcan swings down.
"No!" Lucy yelled. Too bad I was there.
"Not happening banana for brains." I grunted while catching the axe's blade in between my hands. It was now a test of strength but damn I know I got a physical buff; I just didn't think it was on this scale.
"Jay!" Natsu gasped.
"I got this, don't worry." I said.
"Go back Taurus! If you go back through the gate, your axe will disappear too!" Lucy said while trying to wake Taurus up.
"It's fine because I got this ugly monkey right where I want him." I said "Everyone's been showing off their magic, so now it's my turn." the humans and cat turned their attention to me. "Multitype: Electric Form!" I called out and took on a new form. My white hair color stayed the same, but all the gold turned yellow. The gems became orange, and my shirt turned gold.
Everyone was shocked to see it.
"Whoa, that looked like Take Over magic." Happy said.
"Hey monkey boy, you wanna know the worst part about metal weapons?" I asked it while gathering electricity in my hands.
"Huh?" was its intelligent response.
I gave a savage smirk. "They're GREAT conductors! Thunderbolt!" I yelled, blasting the fucker back.
"YOW!" It cried.
"Let's finish this Natsu!" I said looking at him.
"Hell yeah!" he said stepping beside me.
Both of our fists lit up with our respective energy. Me for electricity and Natsu for fire. Then we both dashed at Ugly#2.
"Eat this! Fire Dragon! Iron Fist!" Natsu yelled.
"Your through! Thunder Punch!" I yelled.
We both landed our blows at the same time, causing an explosion that could be seen outside the mountain. After the smoke cleared, we see Ugly#2 completely beaten.
"We beat him!" Happy cheered.
"Yeah, but wasn't this monkey supposed to tell us where your friend is?"
"Son of a." I facepalmed.
"Oh, I forgot about that." Natsu chuckled while rubbing his head.
"Well, I don't think he's gonna do much talking." Lucy said.
"Macao's job was to get rid of these guys and since it brought Lucy here, this must be their lair. He's gotta be here somewhere." I said.
Just then the Vulcan started glowing until it exploded.
"Now what?" I asked.
"What the heck was that?" Natsu asked before he gasped when he saw a body "Macao?!"
"Are you telling me that big, perverted monkey was actually your friend this whole time?" Lucy asked
"Yeah, he must have been taken over by that Vulcan." Happy guessed.
"You're saying those ugly bastards can use magic too." I said.
"It must have used a possession spell on him to survive. They're evil body snatchers." he explained.
Afterwards we got Macao patched up as best we could, and I reverted back.
"It looks like he put up a good fight before that Vulcan finally got to him though." Happy said.
"Macao, don't you die on me. Romeo's waiting for you, open your eyes." Natsu said. Soon enough, Macao did just that.
"Natsu." Macao groaned.
"You're okay." he said happily.
"I'm so pathetic, I defeated 19 of those brutes but the 20th, that's the one that got me. I'm so angry with myself, embarrassed to home and face Romeo." Macao lamented.
"Don't be like that, come on man you beat 19 monsters." Natsu said.
"Yeah, that's something to write home about. Especially all by yourself." I said.
'No way, there were 20 of those giant monkey things?! And he took on the job all by himself?!' Lucy thought, shocked.
"Now let's go home, your little boy's been waiting for you." Natsu said with a smile, one that Macao returned.
After taking a ride back to Magnolia (which was hell for Natsu), we reunited father and son together again. We headed back to the Guild to inform Makarov of what happened. After being told what happened to Macao, Master made a new rule: If someone goes out on a job but doesn't return in the intended time it should take for them to finish and return, then a rescue team is to be sent out to check out what happened to them. Afterwards everyone went home for the night. Me, the Strauss siblings and my Pokémon just finished dinner. Right now, the three of us were sitting in the living room, as I had already returned my team for the night.
"That was so good Mirajane." I complimented while rubbing by belly.
"Thank you, Jay." Mira giggled.
"You did good work Jay." Elfman said.
"I was once told that even the best people mess up once and a while." I said.
"Wise words." Elfman nodded before standing up. "I'm heading to bed now. A man needs his sleep after all."
"Good night, Elf." I said.
"Have a good sleep, Elfman." Mira said.
After he left, it was just the two of us.
"You were pretty heroic again, weren't you?" Mira asked.
"I wouldn't say that." I said.
"Oh? So, putting yourself in harms way to save Natsu from being cut in two by grabbing that axe's blade wasn't heroic?" Mira asked.
"Natsu said told everyone, didn't he?" I asked.
"He was pretty excited about it. Especially when you both teamed up against it." Mira said.
I groan in my hands.
"You know, I think you deserve a reward." she said as she got off the couch.
"I don't need a reward for helping a kid save his fath-" I tried to say but Mirajane cut me off when she placed her hands on the sides of my face…followed by kissing me on the lips. I know for sure I was blushing up a storm at that. When she pulled away, she licked for lips as if trying to get the final taste of my lips. Pretty sure I was doing my best impression of a Magikarp. Mira giggled and leaned down to whisper in my ear.
"If you keep these heroic acts up, your rewards will just keep getting better and better." she whispered then walked away with a sway in her step. Leaving me in my current state. (Cue the 'WOW' sound track)
"…Holy fucking shit." I whispered. Okay yeah, pretty sure she's into me now.

(Wow, over 9000 words this chapter. I wanted to get the whole episode 2 out of the way to start the next chapter a fresh start. Also, things are getting as Natsu would say 'fired up now' but don't think it'll go from 0 to 100, there will be plenty of bonding between the two of them.
