Chapter 13: Together again and Ash's gym battle

"Tch - typical. Do they really think we're stupid enough to fall for that?" Paul muttered after realizing a fake wall vent was blocking the way. As Max shone the flash light, Paul sat back and kicked the fake wall-vent, it took a few tries but he managed to do it.

A loud crash happened when Paul managed to break the fake wall-vent. The crash echoed making the others look anxious. "I suppose they would have more of these ahead" Max commented.

"Probably" Paul replied as he continued crawling through the air-vent with the others following him. A few twists and turns and another block - which he had to break through again since he was the first one ahead - this time it showed the exit much to their relief. Paul climbed out of the exit and helped Dawn down next then helped her friends out.

"Uh - thanks Paul?" Ash said after he had helped him out.

"Don't expect me to help more often" Paul simply replied and began to walk away.

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Ash said with a grin. "We'd better look for our Pokémon."

Dawn worried about Piplup. "We don't have a flying Pokémon except for..."

"For what?" Ash asked.

"Aerodactyl..." Dawn said as she held her Premier Ball in her hands. "But at the same time - it's a huge risk! What if they don't listen to me and cause chaos to Oreburgh City?"

"You have Aerodactyl?" Paul said in surprise - not expecting Dawn to be the kind of person who wanted one. She simply nodded.

"As you said - I wouldn't risk it. If you let Aerodactyl now and don't have enough badges to control them - it's not worth it. You could get hurt or worse... Either way, I'm going, and don't give your Pokémon to strangers" Paul said - he was hungry and wanted to do some more research on where Team Shadow's location could be and go to bed.

Dawn looked at him in surprise. Max, May, Ash and Brock were relieved when he left them. Ash still wasn't a fan of Paul.

"I think we should wait until morning to find our Pokémon - I am worried about them but we don't have much light to see ahead" Ash said in concern. "We'll also try and figure out where in Sinnoh Team Shadow could be hiding their secret base. "Stay strong, everyone! We'll be there soon!"

Dawn looked worried. "I really hope Piplup and the others will be okay..." she said, she watched Paul leave the group. "I agree, Ash. First thing after breakfast, we'll search for them high and low!"

"I'll have to ask Misty to send me Swellow - since Noctowl and Charizard are taken" Ash told them.

Max let out a yawn - it was a pretty big day for him. The group quietly made their way back to the Pokémon Center - worrying about their Pokémon and feeling hopeless not being able to look in the dark.

"That was easy! Now to the secret base and tomorrow - we'll take the Pokémon to the boss!" Rachel announced as she looked at her partner in crime - Sophina. The two were in a black van which camouflaged in the dark. Rachel was driving it to their base which was really well hidden and could only be found on foot.

"Then we'll get a promotion for sure!" Sophina said smiling to her partner. "Though - that bluenette and purple haired weirdo didn't cooperate. We'll have to somehow steal their other Pokémon - same with the Pikachu and Treecko!" she said with a frown.

"Isn't the purple haired guy her boyfriend?" Rachel asked remembering how he acted. "Dunno what she sees in the creep. But yes - we need to plan how to steal Pikachu, Treecko and their other Pokémon!"

"Some people have weird tastes in love partners" Sophina said. "The boss said that the bluenette has an Aerodactyl - how can we convince her to use it?" she asked. "Imagine the destruction it could make and it could wipe out Oreburgh City - which is what we want. We can rebuild Oreburgh City into a better place! We'd have to somehow evacuate people and Pokémon before we destroy Oreburgh City into a better place."

"We'd have to make a dangerous situation to convince her to use it - then she should be able to send 'em out and let us steal the Aerodactyl from there - we have to ensure the bluenette is on her own though!" Rachel said.

The two grunts finally made it to their secret base which was really well hidden, they parked their van in the bushes - scaring away some Zubats. They ensured nobody was about and when they were certain the coast was clear - the two took out the box which had all of the stolen Pokémon from the day. "The necklace should wear off in the morning" Sophina said, referring to the necklaces that made people petrified.

"Yes - in the meantime, we should video call the boss and let him know our plan is a complete success" Rachel said smiling to her partner.

Dawn was silent on the way back to the Pokémon Center with her friends - she was worried about Piplup and what Paul had said about her Aerodactyl, wondering if he was right and the warning he gave her about not giving their Pokémon to strangers.

"Is everything okay, Dawn?" May asked walking by her side.

"Not really... I'm really worried about Piplup and am wondering if Paul is right about my Aerodactyl" Dawn answered with a concerned face expression.

"I'm worried about my Pokémon too, Dawn. You mean if Aerodactyl doesn't listen to you and they might cause a rampage? I know what you mean - I wonder that myself - all you can do is trust your Pokémon and hope it doesn't happen. We need to be careful when Aerodactyl is out of their Pokéball and if they respond in rage, we'd have to return them to the Pokéball" May said.

"I went through something similar; Charizard didn't listen to me until I had the right amount of badges" Ash told Dawn. "I miss my other Pokémon too, we'll get them back somehow. It sucks we can't look in the dark but as soon as daylight comes and we've had breakfast, we'll start the search! I don't like him but I think Paul is right though - its best to not use Aerodactyl unless you absolutely have to until you got enough badges. You can still feed them and such - they just won't listen to you!"

"Paul is complicated... He helped me out and protected me a few times already - yet he doesn't seem to like any of you?" Dawn said remembering the times he had rescued her.

"Maybe he has a soft spot for you?" Max suggested, causing her to blush slightly.

Dawn shrugged. "Who knows - I'm more interested in focusing on my upcoming contest ribbon rather than chasing after possible love interests" she said. "My dreams are way more important! But I just realized I can't enter the contests or the Pokémon Performers until I get my Pokémon back or catch more!"

"I chose both - boys and contests" May said smiling as she imagined herself on a date with Ash. "I still have Pokémon back at home I can use!"

Ash was a bit envious when May said she liked both boys and contests - he imagined that she was in love with Drew.

"I'd be jealous if you got lovers before me!" Brock complained referring to all his friends.

"Don't worry Brock - I'm sure there's someone out there for you; she's just waiting for you to come and find her!" May complimented.

The five arrived at the Pokémon Center and had dinner at the cafeteria before heading to bed...

The next morning, Jessie woke up early in her hotel room, to see her boyfriend still sleeping and Meowth at the end of the bed, curled up into a ball. Smiling, Jessie kissed James cheek to wake him up - which worked.

"A guy could get used to a wake up kiss!" James commented. "Morning, Jessie. What should we do today? I don't want to stay in the hotel room all our life!" he suggested then stole a kiss from her lips.

"I love kissing you, James. I think I'll go to the hair dressers here and get a different hair style - change my look slightly so the other Rockets don't recognize us then find some more outfits to wear - aside from this dress what about you?" Jessie said.

"I'll go with you, Jess. I'm happy with my hair but how are you going to style yours? I think I'll get a change of clothes too, wearing suits is nice but maybe something plain would be better perhaps trousers and a shirt or something like that!" James said.

"I was thinking of having it down, it'd be easier to look after; the others shouldn't know it's me then" Jessie commented hoping her plan was right. She turned her attention to Meowth who was kicking his back leg in his sleep.

"Mnhn dat's right, Pikachu, we're da good guys now!" Meowth mumbled in his sleep.

"Meowth's so cute!" Jessie gushed looking at their beloved Meowth.

"He is. We're lucky to have him, Jess" James added, smiling at the Pokémon, who rolled over while sleeping. "I think after that - we should start preparing for the Jubilife Pokémon Contest then head to Oreburgh City for our Gym battle once we've got the ribbons!" With that comment, Jessie hugged him and nodded in agreement.

"If you're really that worried, Dawn, you could ask Professor Rowan to look after Aerodactyl for you?!" Ash suggested, making her worry even more.

"Bad idea, Ash. What if Team Shadow find out and they attack Professor Rowan's lab just to get them?" Dawn asked as she climbed in her bed. "I love Aerodactyl and I want to protect them as much as I can." The five friends were in their beds.

Max was looking up on the Pokenav trying to figure out whether he could find out where Team Shadow's secret base would be if it's nearby or further away. Treecko watched him.

"Treecko, Tree, Treecko? (Any luck, Max?)" Treecko asked.

"Not yet, Treecko. This Pokenav shows the options for secret bases; but we have to enter a secret base to unlock it's location..." Max said concerned that finding Team Shadow would take longer than expected.

"That's a pain... We'll have to try and work out where a base would be then" Ash said frowning to Max's reply.

"If Team Shadow are smarter than Team Rocket - their bases would be very well hidden somewhere in Sinnoh" Max said in concern. "That means by the time we get our Pokémon - they probably would be able to take it to their headquarters; wherever that will be!" he added with a frown - with that comment, Ash punched his pillow, imagining it was a Team Shadow member.

"That'll be a pain. Hang in there, guys - we'll find you!" Ash promised, thinking of his stolen Pokémon. "I'd better warn mum and dad if they're still in Sinnoh too!" he said worried that Team Shadow might play the same trick on them.

"I should tell my mum!" Dawn added in agreement, worried about Piplup.

"Do you have a dad, Dawn?" May gently asked.

Dawn looked at May sadly. "Mum said he joined Team Galactic when I was born and she cut ties with him after finding out - he's still with them from what I heard and I want nothing to do with him!" she answered in shame.

"Oh Dawn, I'm sorry!" May said, feeling sad for her. "What kind of father would join villains?"

"No need to worry, May. He's no big loss. Mum and I are really close and I won't let him stop me from destroying my dreams. My goal is to defeat him in a battle" Dawn said in determination, imagining his humiliated defeat. "We need to get our Pokémon back before we get back on track to your gym, Ash and our contests!"

"I know you'll be able to defeat him, Dawn. We'll support you every step of the way. What's your father's name?" Ash asked.

"I really don't know his name - all I know is he joined Team Galactic who are similar to Team Rocket" Dawn explained. "He's probably one of the higher rank officers now" she added. "He and mum fell in love when Mum thought she could change him, he was really sweet towards her and mean towards others and Pokémon! They married then divorced after I came, when mum found out the way he was stealing Pokémon and being mean to them."

"He sounds a bit like the way Paul treats his Pokémon - the creep. Nobody should ever treat Pokémon that way" Ash said, gritting his teeth.

Just as Ash mentioned Paul's name, Dawn thought of him. "I can't believe I'm going to say this - but - compared to Paul, my father is much worse. He's not nice towards everyone he meets. Paul was nice towards me - he was concerned for me twice even though I barely know him - if you're asking if I'm in love with him - I'm not at least not yet anyway!" Dawn replied. 'Though... he's kinda cute!' Dawn thought, referring to Paul.

"Sinnoh has two villain teams on the run, that's going to be fun!" Max said with a sigh.

"We'd better get to sleep if we want to find our Pokémon in the morning" Brock said, he got up and switched the lights off then went back to bed. "Night all!"

"Night Brock!" Everyone said in sync - soon the five were sound asleep.

While Ash and his friends were fast asleep, Sophina and Rachel were counting the Pokeballs that they had stolen from their trainers. "Nearly a whole Pokedex worth by the looks - should we open them now or will we send them to the boss? I think it'll be a great idea to send them over to the boss tonight in case their owners start looking for them - not to mention we should cover our tyre tracks too!" Sophina suggested as she looked at all the Pokeballs in the one box. She closed the box again and grabbed some tape to tape it closed.

"I agree - we should call him now and transfer the Pokémon over - their trainers wouldn't be able to look for them in the dark" Rachel said smirking. "By the time they come - we'll be gone from this base! We need to clear all the evidence up to ensure they know we're not here. Give him a call, Sophina and let him know the job's done!"

Sophina got out her mobile phone and dialled their boss's number.

"This had better be important - I was just about to have dinner!" a frustrated male snapped. On the other side of the phone - was their boss dressed in black - due to the lighting you couldn't see his face or hairstyle. He was about to have a great feast with his wife.

"Oh but it is sir, you see, we stole about a Pokedex's worth amount of Pokémon from unsuspecting trainers and we thought it'd be a good idea to send them now rather than tomorrow." Sophina assured him.

"Great work you two! Yes - I'll get the grunts to fetch you in the helicopter so you can bring them over - we'll put those collars on them so we can train them to cause chaos in Sinnoh and they won't listen to their trainers with the collars on" their boss said with a smile on his face. "You have a pay rise coming your way when the Pokémon come here!"

"We did have one problem though - there are a few trainers who refused to hand their Pokémon over - a boy with purple hair who was rather rude; a girl with blue hair who is suspected to have Aerodactyl, a boy with spikey black hair with a Pikachu who wouldn't hand him over and a boy with glasses who refused to hand over his shiny Treecko! We'll try and figure out how to convince them give them to us!" Sophina explained in concern.

"I trust that you can do that. You did well, I'm pleased with your work so far - I've sent a text to the grunts and they said they're on their way now!" the boss informed them. Both Rachel and Sophina smiled then bid him good night, they hung up and waited for the helicopter which soon came and took them and their Pokémon to the base after they cleared the evidence of being at the base up.

The next morning, the five friends showered and changed into their regular clothes and went to have breakfast, Dawn noticed Paul was already up eating with his Pokémon.

"Troublesome?" Dawn heard Paul say her name.

Dawn gave up with correcting him with her name. "Hi Paul, did you have much luck?" she asked referring to finding where Team Shadow's base is.

"I think I might know where it is - I'll send out Starly to search when we've all eaten - how about you?" Paul answered.

Ash looked at Paul and frowned - he couldn't believe his rival was talking to Dawn. He still didn't trust him.

"No luck, Max said the bases didn't show up on the Pokenav" Dawn answered with a sigh.

"Dawn - we'll be over here having breakfast" Ash called out, frowning to Paul as he walked off with the others.

Dawn nodded. She knew why Ash didn't like Paul - due to the way he treated Pokémon.

"Is the Pokenav up to date?" Paul asked.

"I have no idea - could that be why it's not showing up?" Dawn wondered feeling somewhat hopeful.

"Duh! Mine did and that's how I might have a lead on where the Pokémon could be" Paul told her.

Feeling relieved with that news - Dawn smiled to him, which made him look away and blush. "Whether we'll get there on time is a different story - Team Shadow seem to be ahead of us!" Paul added, making her disappointed.

"Piplup..." Dawn said in concern. "I wish I never gave him to them - I thought they were genuine staff who knows what they're doing to him!" Dawn added, which made her even worry more.

Paul looked at her. "Is Aerodactyl the only one you have with you now? What do the others have, not like I care about the others."

"Yes they're the only one I have. Ash has Pikachu and Max has his Treecko - their other Pokémon got stolen. No point telling Officer Jenny since we don't want Team Shadow to know we're on their trail" Dawn said.

"That would be a dumb idea to tell her - she'd tell the media then that would make the situation much worse" Paul agreed with her.

Dawn sighed. "I should imagine by now they'd be on their way to their boss if they're smart."

"They would be there right now if they left while we were asleep - meaning more work to do to track down the missing Pokémon!" Paul said. "I'm going to head out to Jubilife City" he said then bid her good bye. "Stay out of trouble!" he added.

"Wait, Paul!" Dawn said, making him stop and turn around to her.

"Thank you for everything - and be nice to your Pokémon! Give them praises for their work you'll be impressed with how much harder they'd work with that. If I see you be mean to them I'll just cheer them on and scold you!" Dawn then gave him a hug which surprised him - he didn't return it but he looked away and blushed bright red, he didn't want her to see him blushing.

"Tch - then they'll just go all soft, weak and won't do a thing I'd ask them to do" Paul responded, as she let him go. Dawn brushed her hair back with her hand and watched as he left. She then went Ash and told him what Paul had informed her, Paul had left by then.

"I guess the only thing we can do while we're on our journey is to keep an eye out on Team Shadow. I agree getting Jenny involved is a bad idea. In the meantime, I'll call Misty and ask her for some more Pokémon since Pikachu's the only one who didn't get taken away!" Ash said.

"I'll call Professor Birch and ask for some more of my Pokémon back" May said. "I kind of expected Paul to stay here to help us out!"

"I doubt Paul would ever help out - he's a jerk!" Ash simply replied, folding his arms. "Surprised he didn't get his Pokémon taken off him like he should!"

Dawn shook her head. "He's not a jerk to me but I hope he can change the way he treats his Pokémon. Since Team Shadow have our Pokémon - I think for now we'll continue with our plan and just keep an eye out for them. I have to catch some more Pokémon but am not sure how I'll do it while Aerodactyl won't listen to me."

"I'd help you - but all mine are stolen and I'm so worried about them" May said, with her eyes watery, she began to cry as she thought of what might happen to them.

"It's okay, May. We'll find them - we just have to be on a lookout on our journey and hope for the best. You call Professor Birch and I'll call Misty!" Ash assured her. Pikachu jumped from Ash's shoulder to May's who hugged him.

"Love you, Pikachu and thank you, Ash!" May said, hugging Pikachu close to her.

"Pik-a-chu! (Love you, too!)" Pikachu said, enjoying her hug.

Ash and May went to the video phones and dialled the people they needed to reach out to and explained the situation before receiving new Pokémon.

Ash chose to get Sceptile and Swellow, while May chose Munchlax and Skitty. Brock had to call home to get his Geodude and Onyx back.

"I realised I need to battle Roark today then we can go and search for our Pokémon; Sceptile should help out easily!" Ash said in concern.

"You got Sceptile back? That's so cool! Treecko would love to learn from him" Max said in admiration.

"Sceptile?" Dawn asked in amazement and took out her Pokedex. "The leaves growing on Sceptile's body are very sharp edged. This Pokémon is very agile—it leaps all over the branches of trees and jumps on its foe from above or behind" she looked at the picture of Sceptile on her Pokedex. "And what a cutie! May we'd better get ready too!" she added.

"Right!" May nodded smiling to her. "We'll meet you three at the gym!" she added - she and Dawn left to go to their room to change into their cheerleader outfits.

"Will you be just using Sceptile for the gym, Ash?" Max asked. "I know he'd be able to wipe out Roark's Pokémon very easily!"

"Yes - though was planning to use Turtwig but now he's missing, I think Sceptile's the next best choice" Ash replied. "I just hope Turtwig and the others are okay!" he said in concern.

"Me too. I guess we should be heading to the gym for his battle - then maybe when you get Turtwig back you can have a rematch with him?" Brock suggested.

Ash nodded. "Sounds good to me" he said in agreement. "May and Dawn want to enter the Pokémon Performance right? If it's not cancelled by Team Shadow's events we'll enter that then leave Oreburgh City to look for them."

"Yeah - I remember May saying she wanted to enter it!" Max said.

The three boys made their way out to the gym and soon met May and Dawn who were dressed in their cheerleading outfits. May had Skitty and Munchlax holding pompoms while Dawn held the pompoms in her hands. Aerodactyl would've been too big for the gym.

"You two look great!" Ash commented smiling to the girls causing them to blush. "Thank you for the cheering!" he added.

"Thank you, Ash! No need to worry - I'm confident you'll win this one!" Dawn said smiling to him, blushing as she spoke.

"Mhm - I'm with Dawn on this - you'll easily win this gym!" May said, like Dawn, she blushed as she spoke.

"Nyah~ Nyah~ (You'll win!)" Skitty said as she ran around excitedly in circles around May's feet.

"Munch-lax, Munch! (What she said!)" Munchlax said as he stood on the ground with the pompoms in his hands.

"Hi Ash, its good to see you! Are you ready for the gym battle today?!" Roark asked smiling to the teen.

"You bet! I'm ready to win my first badge!" Ash said smiling back to him.

"Pi-Pik-a-chu! (Me too, we'll win!)" Pikachu joined in the excitement.

May, Max, Dawn and Brock sat at the seats as usual with their Pokémon minus Aerodactyl.

"This battle with Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town verses Roark of Oreburgh City will now begin - each can use three Pokémon - let the battle begin!" the gym keeper said waving the flag down.

"You first, Ash!" Roark said but soon regretted saying that.

"Thanks - Sceptile, I choose you!" Ash took out Sceptile's Pokeball and pressed the button, releasing the Hoenn Pokémon out of it's Pokeball and watching as Sceptile landed in front of him - holding a twig in his mouth, Sceptile nodded to Ash.

"Wow - I didn't know you had a Sceptile - I guess you've been to Hoenn?" Roark said impressed with Ash's Pokemon.

"Yes - Hoenn is a great place. I have a lot of other Hoenn Pokemon too" Ash said - smiling at the memories of travelling there. He was relieved he didn't have to talk about his missing Pokémon to Roark - he was worried about them but determined to find them.

"Right - in that case, we'll start with Steelix!" Roark said calling out his Pokémon.

"You can do it Ash - we know you can!" May cheered on her crush - doing a dance as she watched his battle, her Skitty and Munchlax danced along with her too, each saying the same thing she did in their own language.

"He dares to dream to achieve the extreme! You can do it - Ash!" Dawn cheered on - dancing and waving her pom poms.

Ash smiled as he heard his friends cheer for him, Brock and Max watched on. Ash turned his hat backwards, ready to battle.

"Right you can have the first move" Roark offered.

"Great - Sceptile - use Leaf Blade!" Ash commanded, watching as Sceptile obeyed him. Leaf Blade was a direct hit and completely knocked Steelix out, leaving Roark surprised.

"Wow - your Sceptile is strong, Ash" Roark told him. "Take a great rest, Steelix - thank you for your work!" Roark recalled Steelix back to his Pokeball. "Ramprodos let's go!"

"Sceptile - return to my side, Pikachu you're up next!" Ash switched out his Pokémon - Sceptile walked over to Ash while Pikachu jumped onto the battle field.

"Ramprodos use Flamethrower!" Roark ordered.

"Pikachu - use Quick Attack to dodge and jump onto the boulders to use Iron Tail on Ramprodos's head!" Ash commanded.

Dawn and May cheered Ash on as they watched Pikachu defeat Ramprodos in one hit with that combination.

"Ramprodos is unable to battle - Pikachu wins!" The gym keeper said - impressed with Ash's skills.

"Have you been in other Pokémon Leagues, Ash?" Roark asked impressed with him.

"Yeah! I've been to a few of them and almost won! I want to win the Sinnoh League!" Ash said with a grin. "Pikachu, return, Sceptile you're up again!" Pikachu came running up to Ash while Sceptile now went back to the battle field.

"I can see how - you've got impressive Pokemon. You should take on the Battle Frontier after you win the Pokémon League!" Roark said. "Geodude, let's go!" he called out his last Pokemon.

"Thanks, Roark. I want to do that" Ash said smiling. "Sceptile, use Bullet Seed!"

"Geodude, use Rollout!" Roark said.

Dawn and May continued cheering on Ash - with Skitty and Munchlax helping the cheer too.

Sceptile used Bullet Seed on Geodude while Geodude used Rollout on Sceptile. Geodude repeated the move three times while Sceptile had to use Bullet Seed four times before Geodude finally fainted.

"Geodude is unable to battle - Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town is the winner!" the gym keeper announced.

"That was an impressive battle, Ash. You should have no trouble in the Pokémon League!" Roark commented. "Congratulations - you won your Coal Badge!" he said giving the teen his very first Sinnoh Badge.

"Thank you, Roark. I'll certainly be looking forward for my battle. YEAH! We won the Coal Badge!" Ash said posing with the badge in his hand. Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder.

"Pi-Pika-chu! (We did a great job!)" Pikachu said.

"Scep-tile, tile! (That was fun!)" Sceptile said.

"Thank you, Sceptile and Pikachu for your work - Sceptile you can have a rest now, return" Ash recalled his Sceptile to his Pokéball. 'I feel bad not being able to use Turtwig as originally planned but it can't be helped at this stage. Turtwig, I hope you're okay!' Ash thought of his stolen Pokémon.

"Where are you all heading to now?" Roark asked.

"We were going to go to enter the Pokémon Performers and contests" Ash answered looking at May and Dawn who now stopped cheering him on and ran up to him. "Then head out to Jubilife City!" He was going to tell Roark about their stolen Pokémon, however, he worried that the media would find out which would give Team Shadow a chance to move to another secret base, making it impossible to find their Pokémon straight away. Brock and Max joined Ash's side.

After bidding goodbye and saying another thank you, Ash and his friends left the gym and returned to the Pokémon Center room they were staying in. Before they left, May had recalled her Skitty and Munchlax into their Pokeballs.

"Now what do we do? Dawn and I can't really do the Pokémon Performer since she hasn't got a Pokémon to enter - it's not fair if I enter it and she doesn't!" May said.

"No need to worry about that, May. I still want you to enter - I can learn from you when I catch more Pokémon to get Piplup back! I want you to enter this one for fun" Dawn quickly assured her.

"Are you sure, Dawn?" May asked.

"Mhm! You bet. Then afterwards, we can go searching for our missing Pokémon - we don't know where in Sinnoh they'll be! As far as we're aware Team Shadow could take them on an unknown island or something!" Dawn said which made her even more concerned for Piplup.

"If they're smart they would do something like that" Brock said nodding in agreement. He was worried about Bonsly. "We also need to train hard to fight Team Shadow! We don't know if they'd be as strong as the Pokémon League or not" he added.

"Yeah - given the way they battle - I'd say they are just as strong. Right when was the Pokémon Performance May?" Max said.

"If it's still on, it'd be next Friday" May said remembering what was written on the poster. "Then we can leave Oreburgh City afterwards. Dawn, I'll help teach you how to enter the Pokémon Performance when you get more Pokémon" May promised her.

"Thank you, May. After the Pokémon Performance, how are we going to look for our missing Pokémon?" Dawn asked.

"I think the best way to do things is to keep our eyes open for them. I miss them a lot too and am so worried about them. We don't know where Team Shadow will strike next since they can disguise themselves better than Jessie and James could!" Ash said. "As Paul told you, we'd better not give our Pokémon to strangers - Nurse Joy is an exemption since she heals our Pokémon!"

Dawn nodded. "Just hang in there, Piplup. We'll meet again soon!" she said, worried about her starter Pokémon.

Whereabouts do you think Team Shadow have their Hidden Base in Sinnoh?
Will Ash and the others be able to get their Pokémon back or will they need to wait a while longer?
Will Paul be nicer to his
Pokémon?
How will May's Pokémon Performance go?
Note: tyuo thank you- yes I have the story planned.
