Chapter 7
After Kayda had left the Host Club on Friday, Tamaki decided to step up his plan to 'rescue' Kayda from the Zuka Club. Canceling club activities for the day so they can plan. "So kidnapping Kayda is not the right move. We need to find a way to make Kayda happier with us than she would be with the Zuka Club. Kyoya, what kinds of things does Kayda enjoy?" Tamaki asks as he paces in front of his whiteboard. Ignoring the fact that Kayda said that she doesn't need any saving.
Kyoya chuckles from his seat at a table with Mori and Honey. "With the information I found, quite a few of her interests wouldn't fit into what the club can do. Not with her as the creative type anyways," the brains of the club states as he pulls up his file on Kayda. If they gave Kayda the chance to branch out, it may increase her client base. "Before being known to be creative, Kayda was an athlete. She has a red belt in taekwando and would go rock climbing every weekend. That is what solidified her as the strong and silent type. The creative portion was her mechanical work. Girls would watch Kayda working on cars. She gained quite a fan base from that."
Tamaki rubs his chin as he thinks. Trying to find a way that they can include this new information into his plan. "That would be hard to fit into the club."
"We could go back to the beach. Kayda could climb the cliff over the ocean," Mori suggests. Playing along with Tamaki's plan because he wants Kayda to stay at Ouran. Going to the beach will give Kayda the chance to show off her athleticism and to be outside.
"That will work! We may not be able to get Kayda back this weekend, but we can keep her busy next weekend!" Tamaki says excitedly. Seeing it as a great way to get Kayda to warm back up to the club. Even though he is the only one she currently has an issue with. "We should call her to tell her about going to the beach next weekend! Does anyone have her phone number?"
"I'll call her in the morning. Gives her the chance to catch up with a childhood friend," Kyoya says as he works with his calculator. Figuring out the cost of going to the beach with the club once again. Closing his laptop once he has everything scheduled. "I know how to convince her to join us at the beach and by the time I would get to calling her, it would be after her daily workout. She'd be at her most calm."
With that, the boys and Haruhi go to leave for the day. Now needing to use this weekend to prepare for the chance that the Zuka Club succeeded in recruiting their musician.
On a normal weekend morning, Kayda would be in her family mansion's weightroom. Lifting weights or sparring with a personal trainer. That had been her routine for the last 8 years to build up strength and endurance. Once she was 13, she added on the weight training to build up muscle mass once she realized that a lot of girls she is interested in like a bit of muscles. Kayda normally doesn't change her schedule, but she will happily skip training if it means waking up in Benibara's arms. Her head resting on Benibara's shoulder and her arms around Benibara's torso. After the fun the had the night before, they didn't bother getting dressed again. Benibara was holding Kayda close to her chest, a had on the back of Kayda's head. Legs still tangled together from the night before. With a sharp tone, Kayda's phone starts to ring on the night stand next to the two girls. Kayda and Benibara both blink awake. Kayda starts to untangle herself from Benibara so that she can reach her phone. The brunette turning to cuddle up against Kayda's back and kisses her shoulder. "Just ignore it so we can go back to sleep," Benibara mumbles as she snuggles closer to Kayda's back. The two of them had been up most of the night, only having gone to bed once the sun was rising.
"If it's something important, I'll have to answer it," Kayda mumbles as she grabs her phone. Seeing a photo of Kyoya pop up along with his name. She groans as she flips open her phone to answer it. Assuming that it has to be important. "What do you need, Kyoya?" she says, not even bothering to act like she is fully awake.
"Tamaki wants to make it up to you for his behavior yesterday. Mori-senpai suggested that the club can go to the beach next week so you can rock climb," Kyoya states as he notes the fact that he likely woke up Kayda. He wasn't going to mention that it was Mori's idea, but he noticed how fond Kayda and Mori are of each other. Mentioning Mori may convince Kayda to spend that time with the club and not Benibara. At least long enough to appease Tamaki. Kayda is in a great position to keep an eye on the Zuka Club.
"I'd be up for the beach next weekend. However, you'll have to convince my dad. Spending time with a girl is one thing, spending time with a bunch of teenage boys is another," Kayda says after a moment of thought. Despite Kayda being more than capable of being able to protect herself from any possible danger from hanging around boys, her father is still quite protective of her. Her father is well aware that Kayda is bisexual and supports her. He trusts that Kayda and Benibara won't get into any trouble when left alone. A bunch of teenage boys he never met? That will be much harder for him to allow. "He will trust you, Kyoya. You will have to convince my father that the beach is a good idea."
"I will convince him. Our families have been good friends for generations after all. Enjoy your weekend, Kayda," Kyoya says before hanging up his cell phone. Tapping it against his lips. Convincing Kayda was easy. He will have to come up with a plan to convince the patriarch of the Tanaka Family. Perhaps a visit to the Tanaka family estate is in order. If the issue is that Mr. Tanaka has never met the Host Club, then it's time for an introduction.
Once Kyoya hung up the phone, Kayda placed hers back onto the nightstand. Giggling a bit as a half-asleep Benibara runs a hand along her side. Keeping an eye on the Zuka Club will be far easier now that the two girls are official. And as long as Kyoya can get Tamaki in line, Kayda will keep the Zuka Club off of the Host Club's back.
