Author's Note: Thankyou for the review! The first few chapters had already been written by the time this story was up, I'm just spacing out posting them so I don't get too behind on writing this and leave anyone reading waiting too long between chapters, so some details like the 2 years were already written out. This will most likely not be a Brallie story (sorry fans thereof, just unlikely to be a focus for me here) and I have yet to decide about Frankie but will take reviews into consideration moving forward.

"So I know you were in juvie, and I know you lot tend to be runners, and I'm not having any runaways on my watch so I'm gonna have to lock you in. I'm a light sleeper, so just knock on the wall if you need to use the restroom or anything and I'll come let you out, okay?"
"Yes ma'am." Came Callie's automatic response, conditioned from engaging with the guards. It was no big deal; she'd had her door locked from the outside every night for two years now, she was used to it. At least here she had the room to herself, no other girls to worry about, no juvi politics to deal with.
Helen didn't seem so bad. She'd let Callie use her landline to call Bill, had been able to put in her request. He said he'd have to talk to Jude's current foster parents first about it, of course. But it was something. A long shot, Callie knew, nothing was ever that easy. But she had to try.
And if they said no? Well, she'd just have to find a way herself. Helen's bedroom door was no juvie cell gate and Callie had picked up a few tricks from the other girls inside. She was pretty sure she could get out if she needed to. She wasn't going to let anything stop her from finding her little brother again. Bill said he couldn't give her any information but he had without even knowing it. He'd said foster parents. Not hospital, not group home. That was something. Not much, but she'd take what she could get right now.

"Its Bill," Stef told her wife as she answered the call. Jesus was on a date with Haley, Mariana was at dance practice, and Jude was studying at Conner's so they had the house to themselves the moment; the blonde put it on speaker phone.
"Hi Bill, is everything alright?" Lena opened the conversation with. They hadn't been expecting a call, afterall; they'd already gotten the court date for Jude's adoption. There was a pause, the tension palpable even over the call.
"Bill, what's going on?" Stef immediately asked authoritatively, "Don't tell us Donald changed his mind about signing the papers."
"No, no," the social worker hurried to assure them.
"Nothing like that. Its just that there's been a request for a visitation with Jude."
"Bill," Lena frowned, confused by the man's hesitance and nervous tone, "You know we'd never keep Jude from having a relationship with his father, of course he ca-"
"Not from Donald. From… from Callie."
The two women exchanged quizzical looks as Bill paused again.
"Jude's sister."

"It not being in his file is one thing, we both know how overtaxed the system is. But I cannot" Stef angrily stressed the final syllable, "believe Bill didn't tell us about her."
"He said Jude asked him not to."
"Lena, that's no excuse! Jude is a child! Bill is a grown man with a job to do! We should have been told!"
"My love, I know. You're absolutely right, but I'm sure Bill was just trying to do what he thought was best to make Jude feel safe."
"That's the other thing! Jude's safety. Are we even considering this, Lena? Especially after everything that happened with Ana? I mean, aggravated assault is not a small charge."
"I know that too, Stef. But think about the twins, how close they are, how much they relied on each other when we first got them. Bill said Jude and Callie were together in the system for six years."
"Until she attacked their foster father and got put in juvie!"
"Stef… I really think we owe it to him to at least get Jude's side of the story. You know better than anyone how much gets left out in police reports and CPS files sometimes and, at the very least-"
She was interrupted by the front door opening and the sound of the very young man being discussed.
"Moms! Conner and I finished our project, I'm home…" Jude's cheerful tone trailed off at the looks on the two women's faces as they stepped into the foyer.
"Is everything alright..?"
"Young man," Stef started, but Lena cut in with a somewhat more gentle if no less firm voice.
"Jude honey, we need to talk to you."
"Did… did my dad change his mind about signing the papers?" The boy asked the first thing that came to mind at his mothers' demeanors. There was concern written all over his face but he couldn't keep a slight tone of hopefulness from bleeding through into his voice. He loved Lena and Stef, they were his moms; always would be. This was his home, he wanted to be an Adams-Foster more than anything. But he couldn't entirely shake the thin hope that his father still wanted him.
"No baby, the adoptions still all set" Stef reassured in a warmer voice than she'd started in with a moment ago. But her jaw was still tight as she finished with;
"This is about Callie."
