Listen With Your Heart Chapter 31
No sooner do the girls manage to conceal themselves that Connors shows up with barely a few seconds left to spare. In an effort to further cover their tracks, Gwen had activated the sprinkler alarms in the lab in order to create a small fog to make it more difficult for Connors to locate them with the Ganali device in their possession. Then just as the machine for the antidote announces there's one minute remaining in the countdown Connors breaks through the metal barrier on the doors.
Gwen and Phoebe are huddled together, crouched inside a medical storage unit. They can both see and hear Connors walking around as he searches for the Ganali device after he discovers the machine isn't where it normally is supposed to be.
The girls hold their breath, hoping beyond hope that maybe he'll give up and leave.
Yeah, fat chance of that happening.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Connors appears roaring at them in front of the door. This makes the two of them shriek in fright. He effortlessly breaks through the door and Gwen acts. Gwen ignites some flammable spray, aiming it in his direction. Connors blocks it with his hand, backhanding the weapons out of her grip leaving them defenseless.
Instinctively shifting to block Gwen behind her, Phoebe shouts "Dad, stop!"
Connors freezes once he is face to face with his daughter. He hisses, slowly lowering his arm as the two lock eyes. Her body is trembling like crazy, but she doesn't budge from her position. She faces him head on despite her initial terror. Even though he's turned himself into a monster Phoebe knows above all else he would never hurt her. That is the last thing he'd ever do.
Phoebe is correct.
Spotting the Ganali device at their feet Connors takes it and departs for the roof of the building.
Gwen and Phoebe are left there alone, hugging each other in brief comfort once the shock has passed.
Fortunately Connors had no clue they were in the midst of concocting an antidote for his serum or else he would've destroyed it.
With the antidote now finished the two of them rush to exit the building. The police arrive at the exact same time this happens. Gwen's father runs to meet them the moment they step out the front doors much to their relief.
"Hey! Gwen! Phoebe," exclaims Captain Stacey.
Frantically, Gwen said "Dad! I have to get this to Spider-Man."
Grabbing onto both of their arms, Captain Stacey said "Get in the car. Let's go."
Resisting heavily against him, Gwen said "No. This can stop the Lizard."
"She's right," argued Phoebe.
"Get in the car," repeats Captain Stacy.
"You don't understand," said Gwen, fretful.
Interrupting the girls before they can continue fighting him, Captain Stacy said "Yes, I do. Your boyfriend is a man of many masks. As does your brother, Phoebe. I get it. Give me this." He then takes the antidote from Gwen's grasp. "Get in the car."
Captain Stacey has some other officers lead them over to a waiting vehicle.
"Please make sure he's okay. That they both get out of this okay," begged Phoebe, tearfully. "I only just found my brother again. And I know my father has done terrible things, but it's not his fault. Please don't hurt him. He doesn't know what he's doing is wrong."
Captain Stacey says nothing, only nods at her as he runs with a loaded shotgun into Oscorp.
Phoebe watches him leave, debating with herself over what to do now.

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character. Similar to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool no one could've done it better.
