"Magic is the problem in this world." Gladus place down the crystals on his desk. "Magic is the reason why I'm doing this in the first place." He sat down and looks at himself from the mirror, he touch the blue scar on his face. He remembers when he got his powers and immortality.
2000 years ago
"DAD!! wake up, wake up." Gladus woke up from his good night sleep "Ok ok I'm up." He smiled at his son " well how's my handsome stallion doing?" Gladus than looked at his lovely mare Titania. " Breakfast is ready, you better get your tummy filled before you leave."
He was just normal stallion, trying to make enough money to feed his family. He worked as a local merchant in his village, not ideally working space in life but it'll do. Gladus then ate his breakfast, kissed his wife and son. Finally made it to his work" Hey Gladus your late I was supposed to take my break a long time ago!" Gladus rolled his eyes " My apologies sir, I didn't mean to be late."
Gladus then started to get work and cover his break. It has been 5 hours of his shift, he was a kind pony to those that need anything in a merchant shop. But later that day it would change him forever, he heard the door open through the shop."GLADUS!!" His wife barge in with his sickly son "Titania?! What happen to our son?!why is he sick?!" He looked at his son seeing black spots glowing around him. "We need to take him to the doctor now!!" Gladus ran with his wife, hopefully they can save there son.
The hospital
"I'm sorry to say this but your son may not make it." He looks down gladus did not except " NO NO NO!!you have to do something for my son!!" Gladus looks at his son next him. " Daddy am I going to be ok?" Gladus looks down to his son " Of course son you are going to be fine." He said but than it got worse. " *cough* *cough*!" Gladus look back at his wife and see her getting sick as well. " Titania!!" She fell on the floor feeling weak.
When his wife got sick the doctor immediately told him to go home with them, the doctor properly didn't want anypony to get sick either. Despite that he had to find help, he asked the great Mage Meadowbrook for help but with no luck. She has never seen a sickness like this that involves magic she told him that she can't help but maybe StarSwirl.
So Gladus told her if she can contact him to help. He is very special with magic, StarSwirl the greatest magic users in equestria. " So I heard you need help on magic, meadowbrook told me everything." Gladus is so happy to see a glimmer of hope. StarSwirl took a look at his family is immediately surprise.
He sees the magic that's around them but he has not seen it before." Can you do something please they won't make it!" StarSwirl nodded, lighting up his horn to see what he can do to save this family from death itself." I would like you to wait outside please so I can do my spells, I'll let you know when I'm done." Gladus nodded and he proceeded to go outside and waited.
The wait was unbearable for him it was almost been four hours, but than finally StarSwirl got out with tired look on his face and sadness. " Did you do it?! Are they ok?!" He asked " I'm sorry to tell you this but.." he looks down " Cherish all the time you have with them." Those aren't the news that he wants!! " WHAT?! But you can't say that?!" Gladus said " Look Gladus I tried I can't help them and the magic that I'm sensing from them is nothing that I ever encountered it's to powerful."
He said "I'm sorry but there's nothing that I can do." He looked down and left his home, gladus was about to cry. He knew there's was no hope so He collapsed kneeled down in sorrow but determined to save his family. "Fine than I'll do it myself!" He stand up getting ready to find the cure.
Gladus traveled all through Equestria to find a cure but no luck, however he heard at a village that there is a hidden crystal that he can find that may help him. So he travel to the location of the crystal." So up this is the mountain huh." He looked at the mountain and proceed to climb. He went up as far as can, with determination and luck he found the blue crystal. Gladus is amaze at the crystal and what power it holds. The crystal glowed for while and starts blinking. He got closer to it and picked it up, " Let's hope this can help my family." He climbed down and made his way back home.
The Long journey made him tired but he was finally home. He ran inside the house and sees his family tired, weak, and ready to pass on to the next life. Gladus quickly ran to his family side, takes out the crystal " oh please make this work." He said holding the crystal near them, but nothing was happening "Oh come on!! Come on." Still nothing " I don't understand it's supposed to help my family, why isn't it helping." He shakes but it's not working." He shakes it one last time and in anger he gave up, tears ran down his face.
He looks at his son sit right next to him and noticed him not moving at all. His eye widened saw his son sadly pass away. " no no no my boy." He place his hoof on his cheek, than his wife " *cough* *cough*" He grabbed her hoof " gladus?" gladus looked at her " I'm here my love." She told gladus something he will remember and break " Gladus please don't blame anypony please live and move on, thank you for giving me happiness." A tear ran down her cheek, she close her eyes and Those were her last words, then she sadly passed.
The anger, rage, and heart break. He lost the one thing in his life in instant, he cradled his wife and his son with tears rolling down his cheeks.
He went outside buried them, and prayed for them to be at peace. He than burned his house down and he knows what to do. He went to the highest cliff to kill himself, " This is it" he looks down " Just one step and Goodbye cruel world." He fell to to embrace death to be with his family, but when he landed flat on the floor he felt pain and not cold " What?!" He said " I'm not dead?" He looks at himself with scratches and bruises, healed in seconds. " What's going on? Why am I healing?!" Than he look at his pocket glowing blue "Tthe crystal is glowing?"
He than looks at it blue glow now disappearing and crumble in to ashes. " What the- gah, ahhhhh" the burning sensation is unbearable the blue scars form around his body. He looks at himself in horror the blue scars " what happen to me?!" He stand back than when was about to tremble he form a blue crystal from the ground " what?" He looks at it " Did I make that." He looked at his hoof and sees a blue crystal aura around it, " can make something from it." He made a knife to do something " let's see." He brings it to his stomach and stab himself, he was bleeding for a few moments but then he was completely healed, " I'm better now." The Realization then hit him, he can't die or bleed out. Forever immortal he will live. "No Im Immortal?! NOOO...!" he screamed.
Flashback ended
Gladus had a tear ran down his cheek haunted by the memory, he look at himself to see the scared immortal until "STILL MOURNING YOUR LOSS?" A black shadow with green eyes floating with dark voice next to him "SUCH A CRYPONY." Gladus looked at him "well I wasn't expecting you to show up a this time." He got up with the crystals with his hooves and shows it to him."EXCELLENT GLADUS." The shadow looked. "THOUGH I BET YOU HAD YOU NO TROUBLE ACQUIRING THEM?"
Gladus looked at it "There were some trouble, I've encounter the main five." The shadow laughed " THE DESCENDENT OF THE ELEMENTS." The shadow laughed, Gladus wasn't amused but intrigued " THE MANY MOONS IVE BEEN LIVING IN THIS WORLD , WHERE THE MANE SIX WERE AROUND AND NOW LOOK AT THE WORLD DIVIDED."The shadow close his eyes." The sheriff at Maretime bay attempt to try to get the crystals back but failed to do so. However, I saw the detective flew in to save him and she had pink like aura." The shadow green eyes popped and looked straight at Gladus "WHAT?! ARE SURE ABOUT THIS?!"
He said in anger "Yes I'm curtain of it and I recognize it somewhere." He said The shadow than looked at his window, with the sea breeze and wind "THEY ARE BOTH COMING TO FIND US, THAT POWER YOU WITNESS IS LOVE." He said looking back at him. "THE SAME POWER I HAVE FOUGHT AGAINST." He said with disgust feeling that will make him angry but love is the most hated of them all. "Love huh? I've seen it before when canterlot was invaded by the changling Queen and her minions." The shadow looked at him " PRINCESS CADANCE AND SHINING ARMOR ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT EVENT." Gladus correct that response."Well Queen Chrysalis was more like a wedding crasher." He said with smug face. "ENOUGH! I HAVE A PLAN FOR THEM." Gladus raised an eyebrow.
Outside the airship the henchmen Ron, glarius, and absol are talking " man I hope all this is worth it, I really need to get paid already." Ron said glarius couldn't stand all the whining " can you please shut up Ron." Absol stand up " How about you both SHUT UP!" He said out loud, than a voice behind scared them " how about you all shut up!!" Gladus said " Now listen all of you I have a plan." He said with smirk.
Elsewhere 30 miles away from Gladus
Hitch and Zipp are catching there tale or least trying to, zipp put more air on the air balloon for it to float more with a pump." Zipp I think that's should be enough."She didn't hear him " zipp? Zipp?!"Now she heard that this time " huh?! Oh, sorry Hitch I didn't hear you I was thinking." Zipp said , hitch is getting worried about her, ever since they left zephyr heights, Zipp has been quiet. He looked at her " are you ok zipp?" He asked Zipp looked at him " I just can't believe that my mother still won't support me." She looks down " Hey it's ok I bet once this is all over-" zipp nodd "No it won't !" She looks away. "My mother won't understand." She said but hitch won't give up on her "It will take time for her to understand but hey at least you have a mom." Zipp looked at him weird and he look down as well. "What's that supposed mean?" She said, until she puts the pieces together "Wait, you don't have a mom or a dad." He nodded sadly "Hitch I'm sorry I didn't..." Hitch waved his hoof in 'its ok' gesture " No worries ok it's just be glad you have mother."
Hitch looked down at the sea of the air balloon " unlike me when you find out that your parents are gone forever and never get the chance to meet them." A great sadness came over Hitch. Zipp never been in this situation before, so what can she do " what happen to your parents?" Hitch was about to tell her until he looked up at something unexpected " I'm going to tell you later." He pointed " look!" Zipp looked at the direction of where he's pointing. " oh my GOD!!" She said looking a city, Welcome to Manehattan.
