Manehatten the city of gold or fashion as what rarity would say, Hitch land the air balloon. "Come on Hitch!!" Hitch made the finishing touches by hiding it. As they both journey to the city of Manehatten. " unbelievable Sunny was talking about this place when she and I were young." He looks at the stores, restaurants and the scale of the buildings .
"Wow!! Look at this place." Then a taxi like vehicle came at the speed of sound is about to hit Hitch. " HITCH LOOK OUT!!" Pony's running back fourth with chariots on there back, Hitch got out of the way on the sidewalk " Woah!" Zipp quickly made it to his side " Hitch are you ok?!" She grab his face " Yeah I'm... o.. k." Hitch was mesmerize by her crystal blue eyes, the lighting of the night shows her a glint of a single star on eyes.
Zipp was frozen she was about to kiss him and tell him how she feels, but before she can she jerked away quickly and shyly " sorry... I...was worried." She said " Umm let's go find the crystals." She said going to the side walk. Hitch followed and they stop in the middle of the city.
They both can see earth pony's, Pegasy, and unicorns working together in harmony. Both Zipp and Hitch look at each other "So now what sheriff?" Zipp ask "To be honest I have no idea, this is my first time being here." Hitch looked at the signs on the side to know where to go, but zipp is trying to piece together the information with her diary, just in case sunny wants to ask questions.
Hitch is still struggling until "You ponies lost?" A pedestrian walked by and looked at Hitch "Are you a sheriff?." Hitch looked at him "Umm yeah I am." The pony looked please "If you looking for the police station, it should be-" he pointed "Right around that corner just a few blocks." Hitch nodded, the pony was satisfied and continued walking. Hitch then was please that there's nice folks here. He then turn to Zipp " You want to check it out." Zipp nodded "Yeah." She smiled.
They both went to the police station to at least gets some help or information. They went inside the building and see a police pony was reading his newspapers.
He drinks his coffee until he looks up at them. "Oh welcome to the police station, so what appears to be the problem?" Zipp and Hitch looked at each other "Umm we are from Maretime Bay and-" the cop spit out his coffee on Hitch's face."What?! Really?! We haven't heard that place in a long time." The cops got closer to them like a story is about to be told at a camp fire. Hitch raised an eyebrow and wiped the coffee off his face. "Wait really." The cop nodded "Well yeah we heard that we weren't supposed to go there by Manehatten Council.
Well a story on that later, how about you tell us about Maretime Bay." Hitch was about to ask "Do anypony here know a pony with blue scars and a black mane?" The cops stay silent, then they laughed.
Zipp and Hitch looked at each other and asked " what's so funny?" Zipp said " The blue scar pony?! Haha he's a myth." A myth? Zipp was thinking in her head trying to piece everything together. 'The pony was a myth but that doesn't make sense.' The cop on the desk wiped a tear of his eye from laughter "Trust me, you won't find any scar pony any where and besides no one here knows better than me." He pointed himself .
"Except for detective Zavala!" The cop behind him said "He knows that kind of stuff." The cop on the desk jumped "Well he knows who's the best and that is me Calvin." He said, though the cops digress "Well he did help us on the murders of sons family that one time." The pony said in the background. " And he solve the mystery of the missing crystal at the Manehatten museum!" The female Pegasus cop said on the left of Hitch. "Oh! There's that time -" Officer Calvin had wave his hooves side to side. "Ok I get it! He's good at his job, but here this is his information." He gives a card that says " Detective Z " on it and behind it where he lives. "He will help on your case and now can you excuse me." He grab his newspaper to read again.
Zipp and Hitch are able to locate the place where this detective is at. Though both of them almost got lost at a point but finally made there way. "Looks like this is the place." Hitch said, Zipp examine the building " He lives here? Awesome I bet he loves danger than I do." Zipp that looked at Hitch " But that doesn't mean that you don't like danger Hitch." She said " I mean you did risk your life to try stop that stallion for stealing the crystals." Hitch looked at her "Well at least I have you." He said without thinking which made her blush, Hitch thought process came back to him."I mean you know as a friend."
Than he started to blush Zipp laugh at that. " I know what mean Hitchy."Hitchy? Did she just call him Hitchy of course he doesn't mind but it caught him of guard. "Come on let's go fine what we are looking for." Zipp said, when hitch is following Zipp and thinking at the same time. Why is zipp always flirting, playful and now a nickname. Maybe it's her personality or something else? He was thinking way to hard and then it hit him ' she's in love with me?' if that's the case does he like her more than just a friend?
Both Zipp and Hitch found the room of the detective. "I think this is the place." Said Hitch "Yeah it is his front door says detective Z on it." Hitch nodded and proceeded and knocked his door. The door open and revealed to be a blue earth pony wearing a brown coat and black hat. "Can I help you?" He said, Hitch asked first and introduce themselves "Umm hi my name is Hitch trailblazer and this is Zephyr Zipp Storm, we heard that you can help us on something." Zavala didn't really have time for this. "Ok what's the case." Zipp step forward "Do you know a pony that has blue scars and a black mane?" Zavala than came up to Zipp very close. "Wait did you say a pony with blue scars?!" He ask asked.
Hitch than moved to protect Zipp "Yes we are sure. He stole the crystals of equestria and strip magic away. we need your help please." Zavala thought about it and well of course he's going to do it. "Ok I will help you." Zavala said "You both are welcome to come in." Zipp and Hitch looked at each other and proceeded. They saw how organized he is and a nice place inside compared to outside you can see detail on the couches, tables, and the living room. 'It's like a mansion in here.' Hitch said in his mind.
Zavala never knew that his only mystery will finally be solve. "Here you can sit right here." He pointed at his table, they both sat down, and he went to the kitchen. "I'm making coffee for you guys if you don't mind." He made the coffee and gave it to them in a neat way. "Now." He sat down the both looked at him " tell me what happen." Zipp got straight to the point " well you see..."
10 minutes later
"...And that's what happen." Zipp said, Zavala is the one that's surprise on how they got magic back and the pony with blue scars, with the help of his henchmen stole the crystals. "Hmm well looks like I'm going be to late for my dinner tonight." Hitch and Zipp looked at each other "It seems to me that you have encountered Gladus orphee the immortal. He was the one that I'm certain of took the crystals." He got up and through the library of his and took the book of myths. "In this book it talks about his tragic story and the pain." He open the book to reveal the picture of him. "Is that him?"Hitch said looking at the picture. "Yep thats him alright. I saw him with my own two eyes."
He flashbacks the time when first met his cold eyes. "Gladus wasn't always like that. He use to be a kind gentlepony but until he's wife and son caught a sickness like no other. He was desperate to find a cure. But when stumble upon a village and it's villagers, they told him of a crystal of great power to help his family. But when he reach the mountain and retrieve it. he return home and witness the death of his family. He went to a cliff try to kill himself but the crystal gave him life and Immortality." Hitch felt sad for him "Now rooms the world to find a way to get rid of his curse."
They both stay silent of what they heard, the pain that this pony had gone through is unbelievable. 'But that doesn't explain why he took the crystals.' She thought "Anyways you said that he use an airship right. Well let's go check at the airship docs." He got up and puts his hat on."Now let's go find those crystals." They got up. But first let's go to the airship docs."
As they make it to the airship docs Zipp is very intrigue by Zavala and started to ask questions "So how do you become a detective?" She ask "Well I think was born to be one. I began my training when I was young. I also love to solve mystery's and danger." Zavala said he looked at her "So you are a detective to." Zipp smirked "Well I'm the best detective in Maretime Bay, Zephyr Hights, and Bridalwood." Zipp said, Zavala laughed at that "Well ain't that cute but remember this Zipp being a detective is not about the gadgets or wearing the badge. It's about your heart and were it takes you but be careful you will never know who you might lose." He said.
Zipp nodded but before she can talk Hitch interrupted. "Umm guys I think this is the place." They looked at the airship doc and it's huge! "So do you remember what the airship look like." Hitch and Zipp told him at same time, he nodded. "So A pirate looking one." He raised an eyebrow, and they both felt embarrassed "Okay I think I know what you guys are talking about."
He went to the direction of where the office and the papers of airships, he took them and it lead them to the airship that appeared at maretime bay " That's the one!" Hitch pointed at the ship. "Nice Hitch let's go check it out." Zavala said, They both went to the ship to find clues and well let's say it took a while. "Zipp! Did you find anything?!" Hitch ask, Zipp had her googles on and found nothing yet "Still nothing Hitch! But be careful ok don't get hurt."
Hitch looked at her and just kept looking. Zavala however is inside the airship scouring through the library and a headquarters of some kind. The books are organize in a very unique to hide something He checked it until "Ugh!! We can't find anything here!" Zipp barge in. "I use my goggle gadget and still nothing!" She said frustrated. Zavala laughed,looked at her "Like I said don't always rely on your gadgets."
He pointed on the library and pulled the book like lever to open a secret door to lead a journal with two runes on the side. "See always rely on your eyes and your instincts." He said looking at zipp, with a disbelief face "But I thought I would see that with my goggles." She said, " perhaps it's these magic runes here." He Pick one up to put it in his evidence bag and proceeded to pick up the journal inside. " it's journal?" He opens "It's gladuses journal."
They looked in the boo"Uhh looks like a goose chase now." He said reading the journal "It says here that the three henchmen was with him and told them to split up." Both zipp was shocked to hear that, Hitch came in. " What did I miss?" Zavala didn't look but "Ahh I see it looks like one of them is still here in Manehatten." Zavala thought about it and he thinks he knows a persons to find someone like this. " I think I know who can help us, but first you have to get all dolled up." Hitch and Zipp looked at each other.
