That's how Izumi found herself standing about thirty feet away from the enraged Pink haired demon and a crowd of people circling them.

"I was supposed to give that greeting." The demon spoke evenly. "The punishment for stealing that from me is death." The teen extended his hand with a ball of fire forming there. How was she supposed to fight literal fire?

"Wait, I don't even know who you are." The woman cried out backing away as her eyes looked around for something, anything to defend herself with.

"D-Don't know who I am?!" The boy was yelling now, fury lighting up his face. "I am Asmodeus Alice. And I challenge you to this duel."

"I refuse." The girl shouted out, leaving the crowd stunned. The pink haired boy seemed to be taken aback.

"You can't refuse!" He said dumbfounded. Her eyes spotted a shovel not too far away. It was better than nothing. "I refuse your refusal. Now fight me. Prove to me that you are superior to me with your body."

The girl took off running to the shovel and was able to bat away the fireball headed to her. It wasn't an ideal weapon but it would work for now. It wasn't like she had a plethora of options. The boy continued with his tirad of fireballs and the girl kept up her ducking and swinging and dodging.

The courtyard was becoming filled with holes and charred patches of grass. Slowly she was moving closer to the male. If she could just get within grabbing range she could restrain him. The fire was taking a toll on the both of them and Izumi looked worse than him as her school uniform was literally littered with singe marks. "Why can't I hit you?" The pinkette seemed desperate.

"It's pointless to keep fighting, alright. So let's stop."

"The honor student said it's pointless to fight such a weak opponent." The students cheered, causing the Alice boy to look at her with a hurt and offended look on his face.

That's not what I said at all. She felt a little betrayed that these students were twisting her words into insults.

"Fine if I am worthless at ranged then I shall take you on in martial arts." The boy declared as he stood summoning a sword of flames to his hand. She barely had time to grab his arm as he stabbed at her with the sword. With a wrist in one hand and her other hand in front of her she dipped down slightly using his momentum to throw him over her shoulder. Though he recovered swiftly by rolling, he was quick to charge her once more.

She braced herself ready to throw the teen again. He got close enough for her to grab his wrist and she sidestepped. She was just about to add her own momentum to his speed when a scream rang out from behind her. She wasn't really sure who screamed but it was close. Too close.

On basic instinct, she ducked down to land her shoulder solidly into the pink haired boy's ribs, and she heard him lose the air in his lungs above her. But the quick change in position caused her to lose balance. She could feel herself and the boy falling, however at the last possible second a warmth flowed through her. She was able to adjust her footing. She did not fall but the momentum sent her upper torso bending in a manner that caused the taller pink haired teen to face plant into the ground at full speed.

The boy's head made a sickening cracking sound and she felt her eyes widen. Did I just kill him?

Though she was checking on the boy, she could hear the crowd of students cheering for her 'expert victory'. "Hey you okay? Asmodeus?" The boy only groaned in response. "Fuck," She gathered the boy off the ground and draped his arm around her shoulder. But now she didn't know what to do. Did demons have a nurse's office? If they did she had no way of knowing where it was. Her eyes looked around catching a group of females looking in awe at her. "Hey, do any of you know where the nurse's office is?"

They stared for a moment, each different in their own way. But it was the girl who was more or less, a triangle cyclops with her weirdly angular body and one eye, who spoke up. "I can show you the way, handsome." She blinked or maybe it was supposed to be a wink. Regardless she nodded at the girl and followed her leaving the others staring on as she carted the knocked out demon with her.

"I appreciate this." She told the girl. "Do you have a name?"

"Of course, It's Dosanko. But I'll let you call me Ko if you like." The demoness batted her eye at the human and it caused Izumi to chuckle awkwardly.

"That's okay."

The Asmodeus kid was beginning to weigh her down. "We are here." The demoness gestured to the very large double doors in front of her; they were black and had white words written ominously on the doors. 'Injury Hall' it proclaimed in letters that looked like they were carved into the door and then painted over. "Thank you again." She hauled the boy into the dimly lit room and laid him out on the bed.

She breathed out in a relieved sigh. The teen was much heavier than he looked. She took the time to situate him in bed and cover him, before looking for the nurse. The woman she found was dressed scantily and she was sure that teachers nor faculty should dress that way. Then again no one even batted an eye at the yellow menace who had everything but his nipples out so she supposed it was common for demons to show a lot of skin.

Izumi explained to the nurse what had occurred and the demoness assured her that he would be in excellent hands. Though she had said it with a lick of her lips, the human nodded and asked for directions to the principal's office.

Now it seemed like lady luck was on her side as there were no other interruptions for the bluette. Safe within the office she glared at the demon who cheered at her arrival. "Old man." She growled at him. "It would have been a nice heads up to tell me you would have me giving a speech."

"Oh, but my sweet Izumi… you would have said no." He pouted little sparkles of tears clinging to the corner of his eyes. "You did great. I got it all on video." He held up his camera. "Didn't she do good Opera?"

"Yes, she captured the attention of every demon in the vicinity." The cat demon nodded.

Loathed as she was to admit it she did like hearing that she did a good job. She rarely got to hear that and it was beginning to dull her anger at being put on the spot like that.

"Gramps…you shouldn't have done that. The student representative was excited to give that speech and worked hard for it." The human looked up to her grandfather. Her lips were pulled down slightly into a little pout. Opera was quick to snap a photo of the face and the principal seemed to wither.

"But I just wanted to give you the opportunity." He whined.

"Don't do that next time, okay? I don't want to take the spot of someone who worked hard to get there." She had no problem doing whatever but she had been that person. The person who worked hard but had to watch someone else get the reward for it. It felt terrible and perhaps she would have to apologize to the demon for taking his spot.

"Grandpa won't take someone else's spot next time. We'll just have two opening speeches." He cheered as if he had solved all his problems.

Izumi groaned but conceded she didn't think she had the patients to explain the flawed logic the man had. And she had a sneaking suspicion that the man was purposefully getting it wrong.

"Ma'am." She looked to Opera who was holding a bag out to her. "This is a fresh uniform if you want to change."

She was grateful to the cat as she took the bag. The outfit smelled of smoke and ash. As she pulled the bag out of his hand he leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"Excellent job, today. It seems you've not just added a victory to your repertoire but also another pack member." She was just about to question how he knew when he tilted her wrist in his hand exposing the mark on her wrist that was just peeking through her sleeve.

She was amazed he could see the design. He must have a sharp eye to spot it. She nodded and spoke. "I was going to tell you about it later."

"I look forward to your recount of it." The cat demon nodded. "There is a small room this way you may change in." He gave a slight bow allowing the girl to quickly change her clothes. She had taken her shirt and jacket off when her mark caught her eye. The newest addition to her mark was on the side of the clock furthest from her wrist. There would have been no way to see it from under her sleeve.

Then there were his words. 'Your recount.' As if there were other accounts of it. Did… Had Opera been watching her? Though she supposed she should have been creeped out, she didn't feel that. In fact a happy feeling settled in her chest. They hadn't thrown her to the wolves. If Opera had been watching, doesn't that mean he had plans to step in if anything had endangered her too much. Was this his way of telling her that she was semi-safe?

With that thought, she quickly got dressed and headed out to see the chair demon and his security demon chatting lightly at what looked to be a computer. "What are you guys up to?"

"Oh, we are working on making your orientation picture the background for the school website." Sullivan waved her off.

She began to move around the desk to see what he was talking about when the office door was thrown open. She was surprised to see Asmodeus marching through the door. He moved with a purpose, walking straight up to her. She stood her ground, retreating now would only leave her open to attack.

Instead of attacking her, he moved into a neat and fluid bow. "You have bested me in combat and proved you are worthy to take my place in the opening ceremony. I, Asmodeus Alice, am now your faithful servant." He lifted his head with a smile seeing her befuddled face. "I am at your beck and call, my master."

"What?"

Kalego glowered at the wall waiting for his mate to come home after the end of the ceremony. It wasn't uncommon for pack mates to share a domicile and at the teachers' dorms there were rooms specifically made for that. He had been screwed by the chairdemon again. He was supposed to lead the assembly and it was thrown into a train wreck by that cheery imbecile just doing what he wanted.

Honestly, it was enough to send a lesser demon into their wicked phase. He rubbed the bridge of his nose in distress. He could feel his head aching at the wasted effort put into the event. Luckily Shichiro was not there as he made sure the upper class demons were doing as they should have. Though he doubted that the demon would have been too miffed by the changes.

Their door was thrown open in the way it always was when his large gargoyle packmate entered the room. Clearly something he found was exciting him beyond words. He moved around the room nervously picking things up and rearranging them, which was a habit he had when he needed to organize the thoughts in his head. "Spit it out already." The guard dog snapped after several minutes of waiting for his mate to end his cleaning spree.

"I met one of our mates!" The larger demon almost yelled in his excitement. That froze the already irked teacher. "And he didn't run from me. He is a student and he made efforts to assist a teacher who was being attacked by one of the students."

"It would hardly be necessary to assist a teacher in a fight, however commendable for putting a misbehaving student into their place." The purple haired demon nodded in approval. Perhaps there was hope for this student yet. "What was his name?"

All the excitement seemed to drain from the overly enthusiastic demon. His eyes became wide and he floundered for a response. "I… don't know." He scratched his wild hair and looked at the other demon apologetically. "I didn't ask, he said he needed to go to the orientation."

"I see. So he is a new student. Then I will keep an eye out for him during the familiar summoning ritual." He would most likely stand out to Kalego. Mate tended to find each other fairly easily as they were drawn to each other by fate. "While our mate is a student here, remember not to give them any special treatment." He reminded the demon. "Now explain to me what all happened."
