PART TWO
It was Friday, October 10th, and Naruto was a year older. But instead of spending the day in bed wrapped around his kitten like he wanted, he was at his desk in his work office hunched over paperwork.

The text message exchange made him chuckle loudly at his desk, his face in a wide smile as the door opened bring in his best friend and business advisor.

"Shika, I thought your parents had the birds and the bees talk to you already, but if you need me to refresh-" Naruto said dead pan as his eyes raked across the papers inside the file smoothly.

Naruto chuckled at the dry response before closing the file dropping it on top of his already messy desk. Naruto sighed, leaning back into his chair, his fingertips rubbing across his tired eyes.
"You know what I mean." Shikamaru said casually as he watched his stressed out best friend continue to try and smooth his frayed nerves with his fingertips. Naruto nodded before releasing his eyes, turning back to stare at his friend.
"I had to come in because of that meeting that's on Monday, I don't have everything ready. Next week we are meeting with all the partners, the investors. I need to make sure we- " Naruto said starting to ramble, his eyes glazing over.
"I'll cover it. You can go." Shikamaru said waving his hand dismissively, before gathering the file he brought in as well as all the paperwork glittered across his best friends desk.
"Shika, I can't ask you to-"
"You're not asking... I'm telling you." Shikamaru said as he grabbed the paperwork slowly sorting through the papers to place them in the correct files.
"Yeah, I know, but I need to-"
"What you need to do is go home, and celebrate your birthday with your boyfriend. Who I'm excited to meet by the way." He said with a chuckle as he gathered all the files, placing them neatly on the desk. Naruto continued to stare at Shikamaru unsure.
"Listen man, you know I wouldn't do this if I didn't think it needed to be done, because paperwork is a drag... but you need to rest. It's your birthday, you shouldn't be drowning in paperwork and stressing yourself out over shit. Go, serious man, I got this. I wouldn't have volunteered myself if I didn't want to do it or if I didn't think I could handle it." Shikamaru said as the two best friends continued to stare each other down.
Finally Naruto relented, sighing deeply his shoulders which were tense and up to his ears, finally dropping. Shikamaru gave a soft chuckle as he shook his head, watching as his best friend clean up his desk, turning everything off before grabbing his phone. Naruto made his way around his desk, as Shikamaru grabbed all the files he needed heading to the door. Naruto walking behind him, gave him a pat on his shoulder as they reached the door.
"Thanks Shika. I owe you one."
"You don't owe me anything knucklehead. Just enjoy your birthday... and maybe take some of that pint up stress out on your man." He said with a sly smirk making Naruto chuckle, giving his shoulder a nudge.

The two chuckled giving each other a fist bump and a nod before they each went in opposite directions. Shikamaru walking to his office on the other side, while Naruto made his way to the elevator with a spring in his step.

With a nod and a satisfied smile, Sasuke grabbed his bag with all of his stuff, making his way to Naruto's luxurious bathroom. Sitting his bag with his surprise in it down, he began to put all of his self care essentials back under the sink. He popped back up, seeing his eyes twinkle in the mirror and it made him smile widely before nervously biting his bottom lip. Sasuke was excited but he was more nervous than anything.
Sasuke thought him doing a face mask, while he had a glass of red wine would calm his nerves a bit, but he still felt a bit wired. Sasuke chuckled as he was reminded the first time his dobe found out about his habits of doing self care once every other week. Sasuke was so embarrassed when he answered a FaceTime from his sun, after the dobe called him over and over again 5 times straight.

Sasuke thought with a chuckle, as he continued to clean and reminiscence. Sasuke was expecting his dobe to laugh at Sasuke when he caught him with a face mask on, maybe tease him even, but the one thing Sasuke loved about his sun was that he was completely unpredictable.
