A/N: Hello everyone, I am back with chapter sixteen of this story. Here, we pick up where we left off last time and end with a big revelation.
Disclaimer: I don't own Gravity Falls
Things had been going well. The pageant was going off without a hitch leading to fond memories for students and their parents alike. However, a fight had erupted outside derailing the day's event.
"Dipper." said Mabel worried.
Everyone rushed outside to see the fight for themselves.
"Please be okay." thought Mabel, as she raced by classmates.
"Break it up!" demanded a teacher.
Mabel fought through the crowd and was surprised to see Dipper choking Brandon.
"Mister Pines, stop this moment!" ordered the teacher.
Dipper didn't obey still strangling Brandon.
"Mason Pines!" cried Mr. Pines firmly.
Dipper didn't respond to his father.
"What's going on?" asked Mabel to herself.
Mabel ran around and saw Dipper's face. To her horror, he was stoic almost as if he was in a trance.
"You will stop this right now!" ordered Mrs. Pines.
Dipper didn't stop as Mabel began to see Brandon passing out.
"Dipper stop!" cried Mabel horrified.
Dipper suddenly snapped to let go of Brandon.
"Thank God." sighed Mabel in relief.
One teacher pulled Dipper off Brandon while another checked on Brandon.
"What happened?" asked Dipper confused.
"Dipper, you scared the hell out of me!' cried Mabel, hugging her brother.
Dipper was panting heavily.
"Mabel, what happened?" asked Dipper worried.
Dipper looked at Brandon who had fear in his eyes.
"Did I do that?" asked Dipper surprised.
The crowd was dispersed and the pageant was canceled prematurely. Dipper felt guilt about ruining the show. The Pines family went to the office of the Piedmont High School principal. Brandon was being tended to by the school nurse as the left. The angry principal sat behind his desk while the Pines family sat in front of him.
"I never expected this from you." said the Principal.
Dipper stayed silent.
"Not only were you fighting, but you severely assaulted another student." continued the Principal.
Dipper remained silent.
"We are so sorry and we'll do whatever we can to make this right." said Mrs. Pines regretfully.
Dipper clenched his fists.
"We'll make sure Mason apologizes to that boy." agreed Mr. Pines.
Dipper remembered Grunkle's Stan's words from their trip into his mind.
When the world fights, he fights back
"Hopefully..." began the Principal.
"No." said Dipper coldly.
"What was that?" asked the Principal.
"I won't apologize. That bastard deserved it." answered Dipper.
"Mason!" cried Mrs. Pines stunned.
"Whatever he did to you..." began Mr. Pines.
"It's not that!" snapped Dipper.
Dipper took a moment to calm himself.
"Brandon has been a jerk to me since elementary school and I can take it..." began Dipper.
Dipper looked at his sister.
"It's when he brought Mabel into it that I got mad." concluded Dipper.
"What did he say?" asked the Principal.
"He said we have sex and said he was going to have sex with Mabel." answered Dipper.
Mabel gagged.
"Ew, gross!" exclaimed Mabel horrified.
Mr. Pines slammed his fist on the armrest.
"That little punk!" exclaimed Mr. Pines angrily.
Mrs. Pines put her hand on her husband's shoulder.
"It's okay honey." said Mrs. Pines.
Mr. Pines sighed and managed to calm himself.
"I couldn't let him insult my sister." stated Dipper.
The Principal was listening rubbing his temples.
"Why am I not surprised." sighed the Principal.
The school staff was well aware of Brandon and his long disciplinary record.
"Who threw the first punch?" asked the Principal.
"He did, but I challenged him to fight." answered Dipper.
The Principal thought this over.
"Then...we'll treat this as a mutual fight meaning both of you will be suspended." said the Principal.
"I understand." said Dipper flatly.
The Principal pulled out his planner and began writing down.
"It'll be a week right after Christmas break." said the Principal.
"Will that punk get the same?" asked Mr. Pines.
"It will have to be the same as they were equal combatants." answered the Principal.
Mr. Pines jumped to his feet.
"And what if the punk harrases my daughter?!" asked Mr. Pines furiously.
"Honey please." whispered Mrs. Pines.
"Dad..." began Mabel.
Mabel thought back to her battle with gnomes, fighting against Gideon for the Mystery Shack, and facing down Weirdmaggeddon.
"I can handle myself." stated Mabel firmly.
With that, the Pines family left. As they did, Mr. Pines pulled his son aside.
"I am proud of you for defending your sister." whispered Mr. Pines.
The Pines family left. Mr. Pines had made sure his wife hadn't heard what he said to Dipper. As they got home, Mabel couldn't help but notice something was bothering Dipper. Once night fell, Mabel slipped out of her room as soon she was sure her parents were asleep and slipped into her brother's room.
"Dipper." whispered Mabel.
Mabel popped her head in the door and found Dipper awake and looking at his ceiling.
"I'm sorry about the pageant." said Dipper remorsefully.
Mabel shook her head as she entered her brother's room.
"It's fine." replied Mabel .
Di[pper sat up so Mabel could sit on his bed.
"But, I do wish we could have done it together." confessed Mabel.
Mabel plopped down next to her brother.
"Something inside of me snapped when Brandon said those stupid things. I couldn't take it." explained Dipper.
"It's because you went all protective brother." noted Mabel.
"I guess so." mused Dipper flatly.
"Is that what's bugging you?" asked Mabel concerned.
"No, it's..." began Dipper.
Dipper thought for a moment.
"It's nothing." said Dipper meekly.
"Don't give me that." said Mabel annoyed.
Dipper opened his mouth to speak, but Mabel wouldn't let him.
"Remember, we're the Mystery Twins. We fought Bill together. I can take whatever you said." stated Mabel.
Dipper smiled it faintly.
"So please tell me what happened." requested Mabel worried.
"When I began to strangle Brandon, I blacked out. I wasn't in control and I was afraid..." began Dipper.
Dipper began to sob.
"I was afraid I almost killed him." concluded Dipper in a broken voice.
Dipper broke down crying as Mabel hugged him.
"It's okay Dipper." said Mabel softly.
Mabel stayed with her brother until he fell asleep. She then returned to her room and cut her wrist with a knife she swiped from the kitchen. The next was very awkward around the Pines residence. Dipper and Mabel did their best to avoid their parents until things calmed down. However, they weren't able to do this once dinner came around.
"So..." began Mrs. Pines.
Tension hung in the room like a knife.
"This meatloaf is delicious." said Mr. Pines smiling.
"It's just my normal recipe." replied Mrs. Pines.
"Well it's great mom!" declared Mabel.
"Yeah. Really good." added Dipper flatly.
Mabel nudged her brother.
"More enthusiasm." whispered Mabel.
Dipper merely rolled his eyes.
"Darn it." grumbled Mabel.
Mabel decided to change the subject.
"Mom, can we contact Grunkle Stan tomorrow?" asked Mabel.
"Yeah, we wish the...him Merry Christmas." said Dipper.
"Mabel can, but not Mason." answered Mrs. Pines.
"Why?" asked Dipper surprised.
"It's part of your punishment." answered Mrs. Pines.
"Is this because of the stupid fight?" asked Dipper annoyed.
"Yes and drop that tone." answered Mrs. Pines.
"That's not fair!" cried Dipper.
"Mason, you need to adjust your attitude." said Mrs. Pines.
Dipper slammed his fist on the table.
"I was standing up for Mabel!" exclaimed Dipper.
Mrs. Pines sighed.
"Well I understand that, you shouldn't have let it get physical." replied Mrs. Pines.
"Come on!" cried Dipper frustrated.
"Mason Pines, you will drop that nasty attitude this moment." ordered Mrs. Pines.
"I was defending Mabel! That should be a good thing!" declared Dipper.
"It is admirable, but violence is not the solution.
"Come on!" exclaimed Dipper.
"I already warned you, drop the attitude." said Mrs. Pines firmly.
"This isn't fair!" declared Dipper.
"Honey..." began Mr. Pines cautiously.
"Don't undermine me." said Mrs. Pines.
"I'm not, I'm just suggesting maybe you're being too harsh." explained Mr. Pines.
"So we should reward them for acting violently?" asked Mrs. Pines stunned.
"I'm not saying that!" declared Mr. Pines.
"It sure sounds like it!" snapped Mrs. Pines.
Mabel glumly got out of her chair.
"I'm not hungry." said Mabel meekly.
Mabel left the dining room and head upstairs.
"Mabel..." began Dipper .
Dipper started getting up.
"We are not done here." said Mrs. Pines.
"Just forget it!" exclaimed Dipper.
"What has gotten into you?!" asked Mrs. Pines surprised.
"It's probably just puberty." answered Mr. Pines.
Suddenly, Waddles raced into the room squealing frantically.
"Mabel, come get your pig!" called Mrs. Pines.
Mabel didn't even respond and Dipper became worried.
"Something is wrong." said Dipper worried.
"I think he wants us to follow him." added Mr. Pines.
The Pines family followed their pig to Mabel's room. Waddles began to wildly scratch on the door.
"Waddles, please stop!" cried Mabel.
"Honey, are you okay?" asked Mrs. Pines worried.
The family heard shuffling.
"I'm fine." said Mabel.
"We're coming in." said Mrs. Pines.
Dipper and his parents entered to find a nervous Mabel on her bed.
"What's up?" asked Mable uneasy.
"Are you okay?" asked Mrs. Pines concerned.
"Of course." answered Mabel, with a forced laugh.
"Waddles seemed worried about something." replied Mr. Pines.
"Oh that's just Waddles being a pig." laughed Mabel anxiously.
Dipper saw right through his sister's facade.
"If you say so." said Mr. Pines unsure.
Dipper's eye caught Mabel's wrist and he saw something that made him shiver.
"Mabel, why is their blood on your wrist?" asked Dipper worried.
Mabel quickly pulled her sweater over her wrist.
"Nothing." answered Mabel panicked.
Dipper grabbed Mabel and began trying to pull down her sweater.
"Back off!" cried Mabel.
Dipper pulled down Mabel's sweater arm revealing the lines of cuts on her wrist.
"Mabel." said Dipper horrified.
Mrs. Pines fainted on the floor as her husband rushed to her aid.
A/N: That is where we'll end things for now. So, the aftermath has been covered and Mabel's secret is out. Next time, we skip ahed a bit. Please review.
