He walked over to the houseboat. Scissors had pointed him over here, but it didn't seem like anyone was home. Olly knocked on the door and waited. The door creaked open just slightly, and someone yanked Olly inside.
"Gah! What-"
"Keep your voice down." They replied in a harsh whisper.
Footsteps echoed on the other side of the door, stopped and turned around. They walked off the peir, and the person unhanded Olly.
"Pfah!" Olly gasped. "Warn me next time before you cover my mouth like that, okay? I couldn't breathe!"
"Sorry, but you can't be seen with me. You need to go." Their voice sounded female, but it was too dark too see, as the only light entering the room was from the bottom of the door.
"Who are you?"
"My name's Olivia, but people call me Liv." She held out her hand. "Nice to meet you, kid."
"I'm not a kid...I go to Mushroom High, just so you know." He shook her hand. "Our skin tones are almost identical. Yours is just a little less...pale."
"Same with our hair!" Liv gasped. "Yours is just more of a greyish blonde!"
"You can see me?"
"You're right in front of the door." She sat down on a chair. "Tell me your name and how you got here. Do you...work for somebody?"
"I'm Olly! I have a friend named Scissors who pointed me here. No, why do you ask?"
"That guy walking around works for an Assassin! They're trying to find me."
"You have a boat. Why not just...move?"
"Too suspicious. It'll give us away. Those goons are here 24/7."
"What if I'd help you and the other person in here escape?"
"Oh, not Tony. He's been in a wheelchair his entire life. On the pier, it'll be too loud. BUT!" She took a deep breath. "If I told Tony about you and your plan, I bet he'll let me go if it means my safety!"
"You could stay at my father's house with me!"
"That Scissors guy isn't working for that Assasin guy either, is he?"
"Tape told me to trust no one. Scissors told me to trust you. I-I do-o-o-n't know anymor-r-re!" He covered his mouth. She's going to make fun of me for it too. I just know she will.
"Hey, why hide it? I do the same thing when I'm nervous or scared." She smiled. "You be you, Olly! It doesn't matter what other people think!"
"Th-thanks."
"One sec." She walked upstairs. "Hey Tony! Olly's going to take me outta here, 'k?"
"O-okay!" A voice answered. "Stay safe you two."
She walked back down. "He told me to trust a kid named Olly, so he's fine with it." She grabbed his hand. "Let's go, shall we?"
Olly peeked out the window. There was a man and a woman talking with each other right outside the door. "No good."
Liv led him away from the door. "Let's go out the back then!"
"If there was a back door this whole time, why not leave?"
"I was told to wait for you. So I did!"
Olly opened the door and sneaked around the boat. "We need to take out the guards." He mouthed to her. She cracked her knuckles and tip-toed over to them. She punched the woman, knocking her out. The man was about to blow a whistle before Liv kicked him, knocking him down. She dusted off her hands and gave Olly a thumbs-up. He nodded and they ran off the pier.
