Chapter 4

Regina stared in the blank white of the wall. She hadn't really moved since seeing Henry earlier that morning.

Since his reject, she fell into a pit of questions.

Why didn't he love her anymore?

Where did she go wrong?

What could she do to take him back?

Whose fault was it?

For the last question, Regina played with many answers. Her most common one was that it was Emma's fault for coming into their lives and breaking the curse. At one point she got so far into it, she was blaming Snow White. Of course, if it hadn't been for Snow nothing bad would have ever happened to her and she wouldn't be feeling so terrible. Then she would go back to blaming Emma.

It wasn't until Regina replayed that event for the thousandth time since yesterday, that her answers started changing.

Was it possible everything was her fault?

At first, she fought the idea and tried blaming everything back on Snow and Emma.

What had Snow honestly done to her? Yes, she told Cora about her and Daniel, but she forced herself to see, for the first time, that Cora must have tricked Snow into telling. Besides, could she really go on blaming everything she had ever done in her life on the actions of an oblivious child?

Her spirits dropped into a bottomless pit and she felt like screaming. Everything she had ever done in her life. She murdered thousands of innocent people. She sent children into the Gingerbread Witch's house to be eaten alive. She stole hearts and forced people to do many things against their wills.

Her hands flew to her mouth as she choked on a cry. She crushed Graham's heart. She had stolen it after he refused to kill Snow, to kill an innocence child. She had taken his free will, made his existence miserable, and forced him into her bed and used him for well over 28 years. How could she blame that on anyone but herself?

How could she blame any of her own actions on anyone but herself?

Why didn't Henry love her anymore?

Henry was too scared to love her.

Where did she go wrong?

She killed so many people and ruined countless lives.

What could she do to take him back?

Nothing. He was gone from her.

Whose fault was it?

Hers.

Hello and good evening!

Hold on! I love Regina and I was looking forward to seeing her reflect on her past and really growing from it, but I didn't get that. This chapter isn't meant to bash on Regina, but to help her process her wrong deeds and work towards a healthy future.

Next chapter we'll be visiting Rumple and Jefferson again!
