Davis went out for one last attempt to bring Sakyo down and put an end to Rogue Nirvana for good. It seemed like Sakyo had every advantage, but Davis wouldn't give up. In a crazy attempt to stop him, Davis sacrificed his own arm to disarm Sakyo and nail him right in the face. Once he did that, he grabbed Sakyo's weapon and aimed it right at him, had Sakyo pinned.
"I believe that since you seem so sophisticated, or whatever, this is where I say checkmate. Right?" Davis said. "I got your weapon and have you pinned. One good shove could be all it takes to end this."
"You really think you have bested me?" Sakyo said as it seemed like he isn't giving up himself.
"Don't play games with me." Davis said. "Your pinned down. If I see you move, I'll do it. Now, call off your men. This war ends here and now." Sakyo still didn't seem intimidated. He looked down at Davis' injured arm and analyzed the situation. Seeing Davis' arm had Sakyo rethink what he thought about him.
"You sacrificed your arm, but you won't deal the finishing blow?" Sakyo said. "If you despise me and what I stand for, why not just finish it right now? You didn't seem to hesitate to use your arm as a shield. For a moment, I thought that you finally had a resolve strong enough to fulfill your ambition, but now you hesitate."
"I'm not soulless or heartless like you. I won't just kill or sacrifice people on a whim." Davis said. "I am giving you a chance to walk out of here as long as you just give up this little war and disband Rogue Nirvana."
"For a brief moment, you actually had some substance behind your flash, but it's gone now." Sakyo said as he seemed disappointed.
"Will you give it up already?!" Davis said as he was getting fed up with all the ambition talk. "There has to be limits at what you are willing to do just to get what you want. Sacrificing others? Having innocent people suffer? Are you willing to have all that happens just to pursue your own goals?"
"You truly don't understand a thing." Sakyo said. "You should have just finished it when you had the chance!" Sakyo said as he moved quickly and pushed the halberd out of the way. He kicked Davis back and reclaimed his weapon. "I never truly sacrificed anyone. Those who fought alongside me chose to of their own freewill. Innocent people never really suffered either."
"What are you talking about?" Davis said.
"You are blind to my goals and my objectives." Sakyo said. "I'm aiming for equality, a noble cause that will change the world itself."
"It doesn't matter how noble you think your cause is. It can't be worth it if it means others have to suffer from it." Davis said.
"But that is what makes the world. Joy and sorrow coexist with each other. As one side feels joy, another side must feel sorrow." Sakyo said. "In times of war in such manners, even if there is peace found, there are those who suffer from it by loosing loved ones while those who survived are joyful that they did. What you seem to be looking for, Davis Motomiya, appears to be nothing but fantasies, such as joy and happiness for everyone."
"I don't really get what your babbling about, but I still don't agree with what you're saying." Davis claimed. "I just want this all to end. Haven't enough people suffered from all of this? If you're so against the I.S. like this, you think they bring inequality, why not just focus on making something like the Shadow Units. That would have made things more equal."
"I wish it was that easy." Sakyo claimed. "The technology of the I.S. is still shrouded in mystery. The only one who truly understands how they work is the one who created them. The I.S. are capable of space travel, such as their original purpose. The Shadow Units are not capable of such features. The I.S. will always be above unless they are brought down. There is never true equality."
"True equality? I wouldn't say that." Davis said with Sakyo curious at what he meant. "There are things in the world that men can do that women can't. There are things women can do that men can't. The I.S. isn't really that much different from that. In fact, I know there are people out there who fight for equality. They just don't go to the kind of lengths you took."
"But that is why I did what I did. Actions speak louder than words." Sakyo claimed. "If the world will not change through reason, it must be changed through force."
"Not really." Davis claimed. "It doesn't matter if we're men or women, I.S. users or not. We're all capable of something, and it just takes one person to open our eyes to see that. Sure, some people are ignorant, but we're all actually capable of great things. All it really takes is the courage to step forward and try to be the one who can make it. You get what I'm saying?"
"In a way." Sakyo said. "You see, my father tried to impose on me that men were superior to women. He treated my mother crudely and unfairly. She endure all of it for my sake, but I couldn't stand and watch it anymore. So, I stepped forward and had the courage to leave with my mother, to find a new life where she would be better treated. Of course, my father tried to stop us, so I put a stop to him."
"Okay. So you do get it." Davis said. "What I'm trying to say is that it is lousy and awful. Some people out there think men are superior to women, but you felt like it was the other way around because of the I.S. and wanted to change that. However, if equality is what you were aiming for, you went at it all wrong. You thought the end were justified the means, but what end did you think you would come by those means? Did you think people would be happy? Did anyone really use the I.S. to oppress others?"
"Some were envious, and the I.S. was changed from it's original potential because of it's potency." Sakyo said. "This is a weapon with the potential be used for the military. What if technology like this fell into the wrong hands? What if it was used for malicious purposes? Women have been brought down by men for years, but the I.S. could change all that. I am willing to make a compromise, but one side can not be left with such power. If it can't be split evenly, it should be terminated."
"Oh boy... We're not getting anywhere like this." Davis said as he felt like they were loosing track. "Look, do you think it's easy for me and Ichika being the only guys at the school? It isn't, but we never held it against anyone. In fact, there was a time I couldn't pilot and I.S. anymore. Yeah, I hated it. When I got it back, I felt so alive, and like myself again. Even so, I never held what happened against anyone. It never mattered if I was a guy or girl, but I felt alive. Some people do get favored because of what gender they are. Heck, my birthmother tossed me away and kept my twin sister. In a way, things balance out. The world isn't perfect, but people are working to change it and more. My point is that you're aiming for true equality when maybe it's already here. You would see that if you weren't so wrapped up in yourself!"
"Myself?" Sakyo questioned as that seemed to have hit Sakyo hard.
"Your whole cause is based on how you feel, but what about others? Did you ever stop to think how they really felt about it?" Davis questioned. "Maybe your men were fine with things, but you still twisted everything. I'm not sure what you were thinking, but it certainly doesn't sound like someone who wanted equality. Maybe, given your rough past, you projected all those feelings on the I.S. The I.S. made you think of your rotten father and you acted out because you never let go of the past."
"I never did...?" Sakyo questioned as it seemed like Davis' words were really getting through to him.
"You want to change the world, Sakyo? Let's find a way without destruction and devastation." Davis said as he surprisingly was asking for a truce. "I admit that I hated and despised you and what you did. I wanted to beat you so badly because I wanted to protect the world that I loved and you wanted to destroy. You acted like you were above us and didn't care who got hurt as long as you get what you wanted. It doesn't have to be that way. Let's change the world into one we can be proud of." Davis certainly has a way with words. The bottom line of all that was that Sakyo didn't need to do any of this to change the world. He's trying to reach whatever humanity Sakyo has. As for Sakyo, he reached for a device to make an announcement.
"All units, fallback! Our mission is done!" Sakyo announced as it seemed to have worked with this being a surprise to his soldiers. "We've been fighting a battle that has plagued the world, but we have gone about it all wrong. Rogue Nirvana is no more." This was certainly a surprise to many. After all the trouble Sakyo has gone through for this moment, he's now just giving it all up. "Do you really think we can change the world in another way?"
"I do." Davis said. "I want our world to be one can be proud of when it changes. If we want true equality, it has to be earned. It's not something we can just get or taken, not even by force."
"Then, I entrust that future to you." Sakyo said as he sent Monarch away, but he did something else. He took his sword and actually stabbed himself with it. That was not something Davis expected.
"What are you doing?!" Davis shouted.
"I'm leaving the future in your hands." Sakyo said. "You better find a way to change the world like you say. I have committed many horrendous activities. The actions of Rogue Nirvana are all my responsibility, so my life will atone for it."
"If you feel that bad about what you did, live and fix it! Don't take the easy way out!" Davis shouted.
"I'm simply atoning for all of it by offering my life. Whatever world you might create, I might not deserve to live in it." Sakyo said as he's giving up his life as payment for all the wrongs he did. "Change the world..." Those were his last words before he collapsed and his life was taken away. As the sun finally shined through all the smoke and devastation, Rogue Nirvana, and this war, have been brought to an end.

A Week Later
Now that the war was over, things were returning to normal. Those who worked with Rogue Nirvana tried to make amends for what they've done. They simply followed Sakyo, their weak minds could barely comprehend what was happening and they went along with it. One way they were helping was restoring the damage that was done to the city and the school.
"That's looking good. Keep it up!" Chifuyu ordered as she help guide with the repairs. Wade walked over to give a report. "How is the restructure of the city?"
"Pretty good." Wade said. "The part that still impresses me is that no civilian really got hurt, even from the explosions. Sakyo warned them all about this and they all cleared out. I suppose he never really intended to hurt innocent people." Complex, simply, yet elegant. That's what Sakyo was. His actions and intentions made it hard to figure out, but perhaps Sakyo wasn't all bad.
"It's looking good." Serene said as the whole gang was helping out. Even the digidestined were helping out with the repairs. "By the way, where's Davis?"
"With a certain someone. Look who is missing." Kimi said as there was one other not around.
"Unreal. She had her chance, but she is not taking my bride." Fria said as she was walking off, but Sierra stopped her.
"I leave it alone." Sierra said. "As much as we want it to be different, the heart wants what it wants." They all understood that, but it certainly doesn't make it easy. "Of course, if they don't get together, he's still fair game." None of them are giving up on Davis so easily. It was like Sierra said before, there's just something special about Davis.

Prison
Many of the followers of Rogue Nirvana were shown some leniency. However, the higher-ups were dealt bigger punishments. The remaining Four Kings of Heaven were sent to prison for their actions for civilian endangerment, hacking, and other activities. At the moment, the three of them were just hanging out in the field and trying to make the most of the situation.
"A week later and I still never would have imagined of finding myself here of all places." Seyu claimed.
"This whole thing is stupid." Byako complained.
"Stop all your complaining, Byako. It couldn't be help. Rogue Nirvana was all we had, so we have no excuse to run from our punishment." Iramin said.
"Whatever. What about Senku's remains? Did you ever find out what happened?" Byako complained.
"I did. His remains have been cremated, and our former enemies have given him a proper burial." Seyu said as he looked up in the sky. "It's a little funny when you think about it. We followed Sakyo because of his iron resolve and knew what he wanted, not stopping at anything to get it. Not many people have that courage or strength."
"Then why the hell did he just give it all up?" Byako questioned.
"I suppose he thought there was only one way, but saw another way. He also didn't give up, but rather he was simply atoning for the shame and wrongs he brought." Iramin said. "I too wish it didn't come to that, but Lord Qilin even set great value in death. Our psychologists have told us that we must recognize what has happened so that we may move on. May he find peace." The three of the were sour about the whole thing, but they're coming to terms with what has happened. For now, they must follow through with this and atone for their own crimes.

Davis
As for Davis, he sat at the top of the tower and stared down at the city. His arm was put in a cast, but he was doing fine. He also wasn't alone; Kari was up there with him.
"It's a little hard to believe, but it's really over. Things are starting to revert back to normal around here." Davis said.
"Since when do we do normal?" Kari joked.
"Still, the part I still find hard to believe is what Sakyo did. I wish he hadn't. That wasn't how I wanted things to end." Davis said.
"Perhaps, but there's nothing even you can do about it now." Kari said. "Sakyo sought out equality, but maybe he realized his methods were more counterproductive. Whatever was going on in Sakyo's head, he just believed he was doing the right thing." She had a point there and Davis couldn't blame Sakyo for that. With it being just the two of them, it gave Kari the chance to talk to him with her starting to blush. "Davis, I know I was the one that broke it off, but..."
"Do you want to get back together?" Davis said with some hope.
"If I'm being honest, I still don't like that you're transferring back to that school. I'm always going to worry about some girl swiping you away." Kari said. "I want us to be together, but I... I'm not sure at this point." Kari is still undecisive if it's worth it since she doesn't want to cause so much trouble.
"Well, none of those girls really have anything on you." Davis said as he moved closer to her and held her close. He still wishes to be with him. They're not technically together, but it feels like they are. It was like an on/off relationship Seeing this is hard, at least for Lita. She stood behind a door and saw what was going on.
"I had a feeling this might happen." Lita claimed as she just turned around and walked away, trying to put on a brave face. "I should have known he was going to go back to her. I'm really happy for him, but I..." Lita couldn't hold back the tears. She just sat on the stairs and cried feeling both joy he's still trying to be with the one he loves, but sad that it's not her.
"You know, it might help if you see why I love this so much." Davis said.
"What do you mean?" Kari said. That was when Davis unleashed Dragonic Heaven and lifted her in his arms with her being surprised.
"Hold on tight!" Davis said and took off with Kari holding on. The two of them flew off into the sky with Davis feeling like he's where he belongs and viewing the great world up high in the sky.
