Episode 3: Blue Saber Saga
Alien Ship
Prince Vekar observes Earth from his Command Room, wondering how he can overcome the Rangers when his general, Damaras walks into the room followed by a new monster. Prince Vekar sighs clearly not interested but Argus, another of his servants stands beside him.
-Sir, please allow him to use show you his abilities. You won't regret it. -said Argus.
Prince Vekar looks at him and after a few minutes thinking, he finally nods, looking at the monster in front of him and waiting for the show. The monster shows the apple in his hand and then throws it to the air, grabbing his sword and making several cuts while the apple fall on Prince Vekar's hand.
Prince Vekar looks at it, unimpressed until the apple's skin falls to the ground and the apple opens, cut in perfect pieces. The Prince nods impressed and looked at the monster.
-What is your name? -asked the Prince.
-Skatana, your highness. -said the monster.
-I see… -said Prince Vekar-. Go to Earth, Skatana and destroy everything on Earth, make the path so we can take the planet without any disturbance.
-Yes, sir! -said the monster.
The monster disappears while Prince Vekar nods and takes a piece of the apple, eating it and throwing the rest to Argus before leaving the Command Room to rest, feeling better about the new monster he knows will be a problem for the Rangers.
Harwood High School
Noah is analyzing the new Megazord they got, the Legendary Ship when the door opens. Noah looks over his shoulder, tapping one of the keys to bring down the screen when he sees Emma walking into the room.
-Hi… what are you doing here? -asked Noah, confused.
-I was looking for you, of course. -said Emma-. I wanted to go take a few pictures to the woods and I heard there is some kind of scientific event going on with some of the flowers and I know where they grow up so I thought you wanted to go and check it out with me? I mean, if you want, I know you probably are not interested in flowers but…
-I want to go! -said Noah, getting up with a smile-. Emma, that event you talk about only happens once every fifty years. I can lose this chance to see it happening!
Emma smiled. She knew Noah would want to go and looking at his face, she knew she made the right choice inviting him, secretly, she just want to spend some time with him because she doesn't want him to be left out, sandwiched between two couples.
-Ok then, let's go!
Noah chuckles and follows Emma outside, carrying her things, like a gentleman would do. Once outside, the two of them start talking, Emma doesn't know a lot about computers or science but Noah is so passionate that she feels drawn towards the subject, sparking some interest.
They are almost out of the school when suddenly, they hear a sound and both of them raise their heads, seeing something cut a building in construction in half then, a few more buildings are cut in half and people start running, scared.
Noah and Emma look at each other and run somewhere safe, once hidden from people, they look at each other and nod.
-Go! Go! Megaforce!
Transformed in their Megaforce suits, they run towards the source of the attacks, hoping to stop this before it gets worse.
Jake's house
Meanwhile, Jake sighs, sitting on his bed. The events of the day before with the SPD Rangers run through his mind. For some reason only, Conner, Mike and he will know about them and will raise three of them but they assured them the other Rangers will be fine.
Jake sighs… he doesn't understand.
A knock at the door makes Jake raise his head, seeing Katherine there, since his mother died and even before that, Kat was always someone important to him. He was lucky enough to have a second mother to rely on when things got complicated.
-Hey…
-Hey, are you ok? I have been here for the past five minutes and you didn't even acknowledge me. -said, Kat.
-Yes, is just… -said Jake, looking down for a second and then looking up again-. Can I talk to you for a minute?
-Of course, Jake.
Kat walks into the room, sitting down beside Jake and he sighs looking away for a few minutes until he gathers enough bravery to look at her.
-When I became a Ranger I didn't know the power I would have and now, with Bastro and the Snake… I feel a little overwhelmed -said Jake. -. Is it weird to have doubts about what you would do if the situation was critical?
Kat looks at him for a few seconds, not knowing what to say and looking confused so Jake takes her hands in his and takes a long breath.
-I mean… if I'm in a situation where is my life or my team? Or all the Rangers? I know what I would do but… would that be selfish, considering you are my family, they are my friends and Gia is my girlfriend? -asked Jake, looking down-. Would giving up my life and making them go through that pain be selfish? Is it selfish if I rather burden them with that pain and not myself?
-Jake… what are you trying to say? -asked Kat.
-I'm trying to… I don't know. I guess I'm trying to prepare myself for everything. I know Bastro is powerful, I can feel it but… I wonder, with this Armada thing if we won't be forced to choose who lives and who…
-Everybody is going to live, Jake. -said Kat, grabbing his hands-. Everybody, ok? We won't abandon you and your team. They have become part of our family and believe me when I tell you nothing can break the bond Rangers make with each other, nothing.
-Nothing? -asked Jake.
-Nothing. -said, Kat.
Jake looks at her and then nods, feeling a little better while Kat brings him closer to hug him. She closes her eyes, her smile falling as now his worry has become her own, and wonders why he would be thinking something like that.
They stay in silence for a few minutes when Jake's morpher starts beeping, forcing them to break the hug when Jake moves to grab his morpher and hears Gia's voice.
-Jake! There is a monster on the roof in the Business Central near school, Emma and Noah are facing him at the moment. Troy is running towards the location and I'm almost there. -said, Gia.
-On my way.
Jake gets up and kisses Kat's forehead, smiling at her one last time before he runs out of his house, looking for a hidden place to morph and run towards Noah and Emma, hoping to get in time to stop that monster before he hurts them.
Roof
Blue and Pink Megaforce arrive just in time before the monster destroys another building but as soon as the monster sees them, he sends the X-borgs that surround the Rangers, luckily for them, Red and Yellow appear in that moment, jumping and pushing the X-borgs away from their friends.
-Everybody, ok? -asked Red.
-Yes.
-Rangers! Just what I was waiting for! -said the monster-. My name is Skatana and I will be your demise.
-Don't think so! -screamed a voice behind them-. Super Legendary Mode!
The Rangers look over their shoulders in time to see Black Megaforce jump at the same time he transforms into the Green Super Megaforce Rangers and lands on the ground, in front of the monster with his sword ready to fight.
-Super Legendary Mode! -screamed the Rangers behind Green.
Skatana grabs his sword, signaling the X-borgs to attack the Rangers while he runs towards Green but to his surprise, Green moves his hand in the last second, using his sword to block the attack. Skatana and Green start clashing their swords while the other Rangers push the X-borgs away, defeating them quickly.
Then they look impressed as Green and the monster and into a deep sword fight.
-Wow… -said Pink.
-He must have learned this from the Samurai Rangers. -said Blue. -. Look at that!
Green block another hit from Skatana and before he can attack, Green pushes him off, inside an empty building. He is about to put an end when suddenly, Skatana jumps back, breathing heavily.
-You think you can defeat me, Ranger, but you have not seen the best. -said Skatana.
-What do you mean? -asked Green.
Skatana grabs his sword and creates an optical illusion of several swords that then, are sent toward Green. He manages to stop some of them but the swords go too fast and Green is hit more than once, impacting his body and face with such force he is thrown to the ground, losing his morph.
-Jake!
A furious Blue appears out of nowhere, attacking Skatana and forcing him to stop his attack on Jake while the others grab him and moves him, there is blood on the ground, from where the suit was cut on his face and chest but Jake still tries to get up.
Thankfully, Yellow and Pink are there to stop him.
-Blue… -whispers Jake.
-We will help him, please, Jake, stay here. -whispers Yellow while she and Pink move Jake to a corner.
He tries to get up but the tone of her voice makes him stop and he nods, meanwhile, Blue attacks Skatana with all his power and the monster is having a problem to contain the fury of the Blue Ranger but still, he is more skilled with a sword Blue is.
-You are good, Blue but I'm better. -said Skatana.
-I won't let anyone hurt my friend. -said Blue-. You will pay for what you did.
-Is this your anger, Blue? Is this all the anger you felt because I hurt your friend?
Blue moves his sword, clashing it against Skatana's with precision but lack of skill. The monster chuckles but still is forced to take a step back when Blue attacks him relentlessly, forcing the monster to put some distance between them when Blue feels his friends beside him.
-I like you, Blue and now, I know what makes you fight this way. -said Skatana-. I want a duel, you and me, tomorrow morning. If you win means I'm defeated but if I win…
Blue and the other Rangers look in horror at how Skatana appears beside a weakened Jake and puts a hand on his shoulder and the sword close to his neck, stopping the Rangers from trying to get to their friend.
-If I win I will take the reason why you fight with such determination. -said Skatana-. Remember, Blue Ranger. We will duel when the sun comes out, at the beach. If you don't come, he will die.
With that Skatana disappears with Jake, leaving behind his Megaforce morpher and the Rangers with a complicated situation because now, Blue will have to win for Jake to live.
There was no other way, Blue had to be Jake's hero this time.
Command Center
To say that the situation was complicated was an understatement but with Jake and Kat's conversation in the house, Kat feels this moment is more important than ever. There is also the pressure on Noah, that is doing his best to calm down and analyze the situation.
-Someone could go disguised as the Blue Ranger… that may be the best choice. -said Noah, looking at Troy-. You could fight and win, bring Jake home.
-I can't Noah, remember our Super Legendary morphers are bonded with us. I can't use yours or the Super Legendary key. -said, Troy.
-Besides, you can do it. -said, Emma.
-I can't! I don't know how to fight! That's Troy's or Jake's expertise, not mine! I am just a computer geek and…
Before he finishes he feels a slap in the face that made him not say another word and then, slowly, Noah moves his face to make contact with a furious and worried Gia Moran, behind them, the other Rangers look at them, as the tension becomes more evident.
-Stop feeling sorry for yourself, Noah. Jake is out there, kidnapped by a monster that is toying with us and you are the only one who can stop him. -said Gia, crossing her arms-. Stop saying you can't do it and start thinking how you can do it because believe me, I would do anything to rescue Jake but I can't… you can and believe it or not, Jake knows you will come to save him.
-Gia…-whispered Noah.
-You are his brother, Noah. He believes in you more than he believes in himself, take that into your mind and remember you always have him fighting in your corner. -said Gia, looking around the room-. You have us fighting in your corner.
Noah looks at her for a few minutes and then around the room, every Ranger there nods and he can feel the ones that are not there feel the same. He does his best not to cry when he nods. Gia is right. He is Jake's only choice now and he will bring him back.
He has to bring him back.
Somewhere in the woods
Jake smiles hearing Gia put some sense into Noah while Skatana practices far from him. His training muffles the sound of the voices enough but Jake still can hear them, thanks to the Legendary morpher he still has with him.
What no one knows, is that he has another morpher and slowly, he takes it out, putting it on his tied hands and pressing the numbers quickly. Jake looks up, to confirm that Skatana is still training before he makes the call.
A few seconds later, a male voice answers.
-Jake?
-Hey, Kevin. I don't have a lot of time but I need you to go to the Command Center and train Noah. -said Jake, as quickly as he could-. I have been kidnapped by a monster with crazy sword skills and he and Noah are supposed to duel for my life when the sun comes up.
-What!?
-Kevin, go see Noah and help him. You can teach him to block the attacks. He will learn. I know it. I believe in him…
Before Jake could finish, he sees Skatana stop his training and quickly ends the call, hoping Kevin got the message and he can get to Noah on time to teach him all he needs to know before he faces this duel.
Command Center (Night)
Noah is training in the virtual room the Rangers have for these matters but as much as he tries, there is no way he can block all the swords thrown at him and he is starting to feel desperate as the hours pass and he has no way to block the attack and use the opening to attack.
Out of the room, the other Megaforce Rangers sigh. They believe in Noah but seeing his frustration added to the fact Jake is in hands of a monster has everyone on the edge. The other Rangers, mostly the veterans, are trying to keep themselves calm, being in this situation in the past didn't make things easier but they have learned to be patient.
Not like Troy, Emma, and Gia that are doing everything they can to not be on the edge all the time.
Suddenly, steps are heard and Jason gets up when slowly a shadow reveals a blue shirt and dark skin associated with no other than the most disciplined of the Samurai Rangers. Jason smiles when Kevin walks towards him and the two hug before the blue samurai breaks the moment when he sees the Megaforce Rangers walk towards him.
-Kevin?
-Hey, kidnapped and everything Jake managed to call me and told me a little bit about the situation. -said, Kevin-. He believes I can help Noah master his sword skills.
-Of course… -said Jason, chuckling-. Jake used to say you teach everything he knows about sword fighting since Tori and her Ninja don't teach that at the Academy.
-Jake called you? How? Is he ok? -asked Gia, surprising Kevin.
-I think so… the monster probably keeps him somewhere until the duel. He has one of our samuraizer, our Gold Ranger created it for him in case he needed us, and Mike and Emily gave it to him. -explained Kevin-. If I understand correctly, we only have until the sun comes out, right?
-Yes, please follow me. Noah is training.
Kevin nods, following Emma while Troy sighs and hugs Gia, both of them walking back towards the window where they can see how the training is going. There is hope now and they hope Kevin can help Noah not only to win this duel but to realize he is more than just a simple geek boy.
Training Room (Outside)
At the door, Emma stops Kevin just before he goes in. She seems nervous but the blue samurai smiles at her, waiting patiently for her to gather the courage to say what's on her mind.
-Before you go in, Kevin, you have to know Noah is pretty upset about what happened. -said Emma, looking down-. Jake is his best friend and Noah hates when Jake is hurt so he is pushing himself to the limit with this.
-I understand, Emma. We, the Blue Rangers tend to get lost trying to find perfection but don't worry. I know how to manage that and help Noah to overcome his obstacles. -said, Kevin.
-You can? -asked Emma.
-I wasn't the Red Ranger's second in command for nothing. -said, Kevin-. He will be fine, and Emma and Jake will be too.
Emma nods and sighs and Kevin, feeling her desire to do more hugs her, a few minutes later, Kevin breaks the hug, making sure Emma is ok before walking into the training room and hoping against all hope that his words become real by the time the sun comes out.
Training Room (Inside)
Noah has his eyes closed, trying to hear the sound of the swords coming his way. As soon as he hears them, he moves as fast as he can, blocking and avoiding as many as he can, some of the swords almost get him, luckily, this training is virtual and Noah is not hurt but he still, he knows he is not good enough.
He has to be better to win this duel.
Noah prepared for another round of swords and closed his eyes again, trying to hear the wind change with the speed of the swords flying toward him. He manages to dodge a few but one of them comes too close until he hears a sound.
The next thing he sees is the back of a man and the sword that was coming towards Noah is on the wall. Noah looks surprised until the man turns around and smiles at him.
-Hi, Noah. -said, Kevin.
-Kevin? What are you doing here? -asked Noah, hugging the Blue Samurai Ranger.
-Jake manage to contact me. He wanted me to come here and help you. -said, Kevin.
Noah raises his head in surprise but then the feeling of failure overwhelms him and he turns his back on Kevin, feeling ashamed. Kevin sighs and puts a hand on Noah's shoulder, forcing him to turn around.
-I understand what you are going through, Noah but Jake never doubted you could do it. He didn't ask me to come here and replace you. He wanted me to help you train in the Samurai way so you could have all the abilities you need to defeat the monster. -said, Kevin.
-I don't know if I can beat him… if I don't then Jake… -said, Noah.
Kevin sighs, hugging the Megaforce Blue Ranger and for a moment, they stay there. Kevin had the same feeling as Mike, he may be a pain but he was his brother and if something happened to him, Kevin would be devastated.
-You will beat him, Noah. We just need to know how to block his attack to see an opening. -said Kevin, smiling-. Do you think you can show me what he did so I have an idea?
-Sure -said, Noah.
Both Rangers started their training while the others watched from the outside, hoping Kevin's training will be enough to save Jake and defeat Skatana, if not, Earth and the Rangers would be in serious trouble.
Somewhere in the woods (Sunrise)
By the time the sun came out in the forest, Skatana already had some fun with Jake. The was a little bruised but since it wasn't the first time Jake was holding on. Skatana looked at him and then raised his hand ready to hit Jake again when…
-Stop!
Skatana stops his hand mid-air and turns around to see the Blue Super Megaforce Ranger walking towards him, armed with two swords, the Blue Megaforce raises one towards Skatana, pointing it at him.
-I'm here for our duel. Now let my friend go! -screamed Blue Megaforce.
-I will… if you win. -said Skatana.
The Blue Super Megaforce nods, preparing himself by moving his two swords while Skatana starts his attack, using his illusion to create several swords, behind him, Jake sees that one of the Blue Super Megaforce swords is different… is a Samurai Sword.
That's when he feels something behind him and Jake looks over his shoulder to see Kevin, untying his ropes while Skatana hits the Blue Super Megaforce Ranger and throws him to the ground with his technique.
-Blue! -screamed Jake.
-You can do it, Blue! Trust yourself! -said, Kevin.
Skatana chuckles, turning around towards Jake and Kevin and ready to attack them when something hits the monster, stopping his attack, and Super Megaforce Yellow, Red, and Pink appear in front of Jake and Kevin.
-Here. -said Yellow Super Megaforce, giving Jake his morpher.
-Thank you.
-If you going to bring your warriors to this duel then I will bring mine! -said Skatana-. Soldiers!
Soldiers appeared and Skatana ordered them to attack but the Super Megaforce Rangers were ready and now with the Green Ranger morpher and ready to fight, things were looking more in their favor. The only thing left to do was to get the Blue Ranger to believe in himself.
-Blue! Get up! -screamed Green Super Megaforce-. I know my best friend is stronger than this! I know you can defeat him!
-Green…-whispered Blue Super Megaforce.
Green Super Megaforce wanted to help his best friend but with the soldier in their way it was complicated, at least, until Kevin touched his shoulder and whispered something to Green Super Megaforce's ears then, the Green Ranger nodded and looked at his friends.
-Blue! If he has so many swords, you should have them too! -said Green-… let's give him ours!
Blue Super Megaforce got up, confused when suddenly four swords were thrown at him. He got them and with his sword and the Samurai's sword he had a total of six swords he can use to defend himself. Skatana attacked again but Blue Super Megaforce defended himself, now able to take down the swords while his friends got ready to face the soldiers.
-Uhm… hey, Kevin. Do you mind if we take the Samurai way? -asked Red Super Megaforce.
The rest of the Rangers chuckled while Kevin look at them and then smiled, putting a hand on Red's shoulder.
-Make them see what happens when you fight a true Samurai. -said, Kevin.
-Ok, then… Rangers! Ready!? -said Red Super Megaforce.
-Ready! -said the Rangers.
All of them except Blue took position and then got their keys, putting them on the devices before screaming their new transformation.
-Go! Go! Samurai! -screamed Red, Yellow, Pink, and Green Super Megaforce.
The Super Megaforce Rangers morphed into the Samurai Rangers while Kevin smiled and saw them take down the soldiers, one by one, using the tools he used long ago. To say he was proud was a statement while he saw use what once were his friend's powers in their style, the only one similar was the Green Ranger but that was only because Jake was a lot like Mike and he learned a lot from him.
Kevin chuckled. Mike is going to be over the moon when he learns that Jake used his morph to fight.
On the other side of the battlefield, Blue Super Megaforce was doing his best but still, it wasn't enough to defeat Skatana. The monster threw a new attack from his chest and Blue Super Megaforce ended up on the ground again.
-You are not as good as I thought, Blue…
Skatana prepared himself to launch another attack and Blue felt he couldn't get up on time when he saw a flash of light and suddenly, Green was there, blocking the attack with his sword.
-Green…-whispered Blue.
-Hey, come on, get up, Blue… -said Green.
-I can't defeat him… I can't… save you…-said Blue.
Green looked over his shoulder for a second. He could feel his friend losing hope and that made him angry so using his sword and the master wind he learned from the Red Ninja Storm Ranger plus the forest power from the Green Samurai Ranger, he managed to push back the attack and turn towards Blue, kneeling in front of him.
-You are wrong, Blue. You saved me, look… -said Green, grabbing his friend's hand-… I'm here because of you because you dared to come here and fight.
-But I…
-… Blue, trust yourself. The Blue Rangers before you see you and are beside you all the time. You have some of the best Rangers out there, most of the time they are the second in command for a reason, please, don't give up. -said Green-… fight and show the man that can bring together mind and body.
Blue looked up slowly, an idea already forming in his mind while he took his best friend's hand and got up. Blue Super Megaforce got the swords and gave Green the Samurai one while he looked at him and nodded to himself.
-You are right. I can't give up. -said Blue Super Megaforce-. I will win this duel.
-You can't defeat me, Ranger! -screamed Skatana.
Blue Super Megaforce and Green Super Megaforce nodded and then, Blue Super Megaforce grabbed the five swords with one hand before opening the compartment on his belt he could use to call for his Ranger keys.
-I call upon the power of the past Blue Rangers! -screamed Blue Super Megaforce-… Blue Galaxy Ranger! Blue Megaforce Ranger! Blue Ninja Storm Ranger! Blue Aquitar Ranger! And Blue Samurai Ranger!
He threw the five keys into the air and then put the sword in position. The keys fell into the swords and activate the five powers for the Blue Ranger while Green look at him, amazed by his friend's idea.
-Go get them, Blue! -screamed Green.
Blue ran towards Skatana and as he ran, he started to transform into different Blue Rangers when he grabbed the sword with the key. First, he transformed into his Megaforce Blue Ranger and hit the monster once then, he came back with the sword and the form of the Blue Aquitar Ranger then, he hit Skatana with the Blue Ninja Storm sword then, with the Blue Galaxy sword, and then, he turned into the Blue Samurai Ranger, hitting Skatana.
Blue landed on the ground, turning into his Super Megaforce form, and using all swords, now shining blue, he hit Skatana one more time, defeating the monster, and screamed in pain and fell to the ground while Blue finally was able to take a deep breath.
He won the duel…. He won!
Blue was going to turn to his friends when a familiar laser hit Skatana, making him bigger and Blue Super Megaforce sighed while his friend and Kevin reunited with him.
-It seems is time to call the Legendary Ship -said Red Super Megaforce.
They all nodded and Kevin was about to nod when he felt something in his pocket and looked to see the small zords, not only his but the rest of the Samurai zords were there and he and the Super Megaforce Rangers look at them, confused.
The Green Bear jumped at Green Super Megaforce and he grabbed the small creature, petting it before he looked at him. The zords seemed to be talking but apparently, only Green Super Megaforce and Kevin could understand them.
-Really? -asked Green Super Megaforce.
-Is he talking? -asked Yellow Super Megaforce.
-Yes, they talk only time but only their rightful owners or Green can understand them and he only can do it because he grows up with them. -said Kevin, nodding to himself-. They say to show them your Legendary Morphers, that they can share their data and you will be able to form the Samurai Megazord.
The Rangers looked at each other surprised but nodded and showed their Legendary Morphers then, slowly, each zord stood near the Morpher and light engulfed them for a few seconds when they finished, then the Turtle and the Ape zord jumped on Pink and Yellow's Super Megaforce shoulder and kissed their cheek while Green Super Megaforce pet the Bear, Red Super Megaforce nodded at the Lion zord and Blue Super Megaforce play a little with the Dragon zord.
Then they went back to Kevin's side and he looked at the Rangers, putting all his trust in them.
-You can do this, Rangers. -said, Kevin.
Red Super Megaforce nodded and called for the Legendary Ship then he and the Rangers jumped in while Kevin watched them.
Inside the Legendary Ship
-Let's do this, Rangers! -said Red Super Megaforce-. Samurai Keys, ready!
-Ready! -screamed the Rangers.
They used the keys on the Legendary Ship and it started to transform, turning into the Samurai Megazord and ready to fight, of course, Skatana was waiting for them and he tried his attack but the Samurai Megazord use his sword to block his attack and then, used the sword to hit the monster with a powerful blast, sending him to the ground.
-Now! Let's finish this! -screamed Red Super Megaforce.
The Super Megaforce Rangers activated the final attack of the Samurai Megazord and with a powerful attack of his sword, Skatana fell, defeated once and for all while the Samurai Megazord turned as the monster exploded.
The fight was over, finally.
Command Center (Later)
Noah looked at the key of the Blue Samurai Ranger, smiling softly and thinking about how helpful Kevin was and how his teachings gave him the chance to face his fears. He was so deep in his thoughts he only felt a hand around his shoulders and looked up to see Jake.
His friend had the marks of being tied and a few bruises but other than that, he was fine and Noah was so thankful for that.
-I think I have to thank you for saving my life out there, Noah. -said Jake, smiling-… I knew you could do it.
-I wasn't so sure but I have to admit it was nice to be the one saving you this time. -said, Noah-. I was getting tired of you risking yourself all the time.
Jake laughed and Noah chuckled when they saw the rest of their friends coming towards them. When they reach them, Emma hugged Noah and Troy patted him on the back while Gia give a small hug to her boyfriend and then she hugged Noah.
-Thank you, Noah. -whispered Gia.
Noah smiled and they break the hug, they nodded to each other then, Gia hugged Jake again and Noah let out a deep breath.
