Chapter Fifty-Six: Birthday in France & Dementors attack
The weather in Paris, France wasn't so bad but still hot. Vanessa and Hunter didn't mind it as they were having Dinner at a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. From inside they could see all the sight attractions. The whole day Vanessa had seen all the beautiful sight scenes with her boyfriend and their friends, including the wizardry sight. They have done some shopping for themselves and some souvenirs for their family and loved ones. After that their friends had left the two love birds alone for them to spend time together.
It was a beautiful and simple day that Vanessa always wanted for her birthday. She is 17 now and is a now-of-age witch. They still had her family's traditional ball later on but her family agreed on letting her have this.
"A toast to the most beautiful girl in the world, Cherie." Hunter smiled
"Merci, mon amour." Vanessa said
Their wine glasses clinked together in their toast.
"This…is what we needed." She smiled
After what happened a few days ago they needed something to distract them. It was a bit weird as neither Harry or Vanessa have heard from their friends from the wizardry world. They would receive letters but they would be very short. Even with Sirius and Vlads' letters.
"Why don't we stay for a bit? We can spend the whole night in a Suite." Hunter suggested
Vanessa giggled.
"As tempting as that sounds, you know we have to go back. My parents invited all kingdoms to come." She sighed
"Maybe we could…"
He stopped when he noticed two men sitting two tables away from them. Hunter recognized them from the graveyard, Avery and Crabbe. He didn't know he didn't notice them before. They were doing their best not to look their way.
"What is it?" Vanessa asked
"I think Voldemort sent his lackies to follow us." He whispered
"I guess he didn't like your answer." She said before taking a bite of her dessert.
"Would have thought he would be here himself." He muttered
"So what's the plan?" She asked
He looked around and was able to figure out a distraction. After slipping money for the bill he waited for another group party walking by and a few staff members that were carrying food. Once they were close he took out his wand and did a spell that made them all trip and cause a mess. Two of the waiters ended up dropping food on the two Death Eaters. That's when Hunter and Vanessa got out of there. When they saw that they were gone the two ran after them. The two lovers ended up at the top of the Eiffel Tower where Vanessa let out a sharp whistle. When the Death Eater arrived Hunter grabbed Vanessas' hand and flipped them off before jumping off the Tower. The Death Eaters quickly hurried to the edge and to their surprise they landed on something that was invisible.
Unknown to them it was Danica, Vanessa's dragon. They discovered her new ability a couple of weeks ago. In the dark night no one was able to see two humans in the air but to keep it safe Vanessa had Danica fly in the cloudy sky.
"So much for staying the night." Hunter smirked, "Sorry for ruining the night."
"You didn't. The trill made it fun." Vanessa said
It took a while till they were back in Auradon. When they landed Vanessa and Hunter used their wands to change their clothes into elegant evening outfits before putting on their masks. Her parents have gone with a masquerade ball this year.
"There you are. Where have you guys been?" Evie sighed, "Your dance number is almost up."
She and Dizzy hurried them towards the enchanted forest where the ball is being held. Once they entered the party the spotlight hit them.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Princess Vanessa Potter and Prince Hunter Hades." Lumiere announced.
Everyone applauded at their arrival. Hunter kissed Vanessas' hand before the two walked towards the dance floor. The two bow to each other and Doug gestures to the orchestra to begin the music. The moment the music started the two lovers were in sync with each other. For them it felt as if it was just the two of them. He twirled her around before lifting her up in the air and that's when fire emerged around them. Everyone was awed at the beautiful dancing flames and applauded. The flames transformed into figures of them and started to dance along with them. When the music was over the two bowed again and the flames surrounded them again before going into the air and burst into fireworks.
"Was that all you?" Vanessa asked
"I thought it would enlighten everyone." Hunter said
Vanessa giggled before they kissed one another.
"And to unveiling the gift that Prince Hunter Hades has made for Princess Vanessa." Lumiere announcement.
It was a stained glass portrait of Vanessa and Hunter but she was in her vampire form. In the portrait the two figures started to move and they were dancing in the painting.
"You did this?" Vanessa smiled
"Do you like it?" Hunter asked
"I love it. Thank you." She said and kissed him again.
While everyone appulated and cheered there was one person that watched the scene from afar. This was the first time Mariana had laid eyes on her nephew. She couldn't believe the resemblance between him and her brother. Just seeing him with Vanessa reminded her of the past. Victoria was a year younger than them but she was extremely skilled and powerful that it didn't take long for Tom to notice her. She'll never forget the day when her brother became obsessed with the white witch.

It all happened in the Forbidden Forest. Victoria, Mariana and a few other female Slytherins were walking around the trails by the Forbidden Forest. They were all playing some truth and dare. Pretty much everyone had chosen the truth until it was Victoria's turn.
"Dare." Victoria smirked
"Okay well…I dare you to go into the Forbidden Forest and gather Bluebells." Sarah said
"Come on, Sarah. It's dangerous in there." Mariana said
"What? She chose to dare." Sarah shrugged.
"I wouldn't do that." One girl whispered
"Neither would i." Another gasped
"I certainly wouldn't." Another said
"I would." Victoria said
All of them gasped and stared at her in disbelief. This just made Victoria smirk at them before running off into the forest. Mariana tried calling her back but the girl wouldn't listen.
"Why am I not surprised?" She sighed
She was about to follow after her until Tom and his gang came passing by. Mariana rolled her eyes when the other girls started giggling and batted their eye lashes at her twin brother. It was really annoying at times. That's why she liked Victoria. The witch had lowered herself to fall for Tom's charm.
"Mariana, what do you think you're doing?" Tom asked
"Sarah, dared Victoria to go into the Forbidden Forest to pick Bluebells." Mariana said
She had pointed at the said girl who flinched at the glare Tom gave her.
"And you didn't stop her." Tom said
"I tried but she's very stubborn." Mariana said "I was just about to go in myself."
"Like hell you are. Not without me." He said
"I can handle myself, Tom." She argued.
He didn't listen to her and they both entered the forest. Mariana knew he was just doing what a big brother is supposed to do. They were all that they had after all.
It had only been a couple of minutes until they found her. She was kneeling on the ground with a few BlueBells in her right hand. In front of her was a dead deer. Thinking that this was her first sight of death, Mariana went to help her up but Tom stopped her. She looked at him with a confused look before looking back at her and saw why. Victorias' hair had started to turn pure white. She waved her hand over the deer's body and started muttering words they couldn't hear. Mariana's eyes widened when saw the deers' right leg twitch a little. It started to breathe again before its body started to move. The deer got up before running off into the forest. Victoria's hair turned back to her natural raven hair before letting out a shuddering breath and nearly fell backwards. Tom quickly caught her before Mariana could. They guessed that she was in some kind of trance when she was doing that as she was shaking her head out of a dizzy state.
"Wh-What happened?" She asked
"Don't you remember what you just did?" Mariana asked
Victoria shocked her head.
"You just brought the deer back to life." Tom said
Victoria freaked out when he said that. She didn't know why she did it but once she saw the dead deer she just blacked out. The spell was taught to her by her late aunt who was experimenting on life and death. Her father despised the spell and had her warned to never use it. Tom didn't understand why.
"It goes against the rules of nature." Victoria said "We can't cheat death."
Mariana looked at her brother as she knew his main desire was to beat death. Tom decided to not argue with her and took them back to the castle. But from that day Tom wanted her by his side.

On August 3 Harry Potter was heading back home after his therapy session. After what happened a few weeks ago Bell and Adam thought it would be best for him to talk to someone about this. It did well for Vanessa so Harry decided to give it a shot.
Lately he has been feeling isolated from the magical world. Once again he hasn't gotten any news or letters from his friends or Sirius. Not to mention, he hasn't heard any news about Voldemort. He was sure that the dark lord would start up his old ways, like mysterious deaths and people disappearing. But, nothing. There was nothing in the Muggle news or in the Daily Prophet. Harry just didn't understand what was going on.
"That's weird. It looks like its' gonna rain."
Harry looked out the window and saw that the driver was right. Just a few minutes ago it was bright, hot and sunny. Now it was getting cold, cloudy and judging from the sound of thunder rain was gonna pour down. Moments later that's what happened. It poured down very hard on them. The driver drove into a tunnel before it suddenly turned off. He tried turning the engine but it wouldn't turn on. So he got out to check what was wrong with the car. Harry had a gut feeling that something was wrong. He got out of the car himself with his wand close to him. The air started to get colder and colder, that it reminded him of the Dementors. Suddenly the lights in the tunnel had gone out and that's' when scabby and boney hands grabbed him by the throat. It was a Dementor.
"Harry!"
The driver didn't see what was holding Harry to the wall but he still hurried to save him. That's when a second Dementor appeared and took him down. Harry kept struggling for his wand as both Dementors' started sucking their souls. When he was able to he couldn't say the words so he ended up stabbing it in the eye. This made the Dementor let him go and he quickly said the spell.
"Expecto Patronum!"
His stag patronus charged at the Dementor that attacked him and was about to charge it at the other one but another patronus charged at it. The patronus was a huge snake with horns on it. With two patronus charging at them made the Dementors flee from the scene. The rain stopped, the clouds parted and showed the sky, the lights came back on and the car engine returned on. Harry watched the serpent patronus float back to its owner.
The serpent belonged to Mairana.
Dumbledore had asked her and Mundungus Fletcher to keep an eye on the boy. It was working fine until Mundungus decided to clock out early without telling Mariana. She had to learn about it from her little snake spy.
"I'm going to kill that little thief." She muttered "I don't know why Dumbledore would place him under watch."
"Who are you?" Harry asked, pointing his wand at her.
"I am Mariana Frey, I was sent here from Dumbledore to watch after you." She said "I would have been here sooner if Mundungus Fletcher hadn't disappeared a while ago."
She walked behind the car and bent down to hold up a little white snake.
"If it wasn't for my little spy here I wouldn't have known." She said, placed it in her purse.
His eyes widened when he heard her speak in parseltongue.
"You're a parselmouth?" He said in surprise.
"Yes, you didn't think that you and the Hunter boy were the only ones that could speak it." She said "Now, can you help me get him in the car? It wasn't able to get his soul but he's gonna be dazed out of it for a while."
She used her wand to lift the man up while Harry opened the back car door open for her. Once he was inside she used her wand to send out the patronus and it was sent off somewhere.
"Your guardians will know of your arrival soon. And of what has happened." She said
"So…you know Dumbledore?" Harry said, staring at her.
"Who doesn't know Dumbledore?" She gave a light chuckle.
"Why was I being followed?" He asked
"Because of this very thing. He knew something like this would happen." She said
He wanted to ask more questions but she took out another snake from her purse and transfigured it into a human.
"Ka, will take you back home." She said "I have to send a message to Dumbledore so he can deal with this. I suggest you keep your wand out until you get there. Goodnight, Mr. Potter."
Before he could ask her more questions she apperated out there. Harry had no choice but to get back in the car and let Ka drive back home. When they arrived, Ka disappeared and two guards came to get the driver. Harry entered the castle and was suddenly in a grib tight hug by Bell.
"We heard what happened, are you okay? Are you hurt?" She asked
"No, fine. It was Mr. Kettle that nearly got the kiss." Harry said
"Your Majesty…Your Majesty, an owl post just came in." Mrs. Pott cried as she hurried towards them.
She handed the letter to Adam and the old king opened it.
"Darling, what is it?" Bell asked
"This is saying that Harry is expelled from Hogwarts for doing magic in a Muggle-habit. And that they'll snap his wand." Adam said
"What!?" Harry said
"It was under defense, can they do that?" Bell gasped
"He has already received an official warning for a previous offense under section 13 of the International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy, he is to present himself at a disciplinary hearing at the Ministry of Magic at 9 a.m. on August 12th." Adam sighed
Suddenly another owl came flying in and dropped another letter into Adam's hand.
"It's from Arthur Weasley. He says Dumbledore just arrived at the Ministry, and he's trying to sort this out." Adam said "He also says not to leave the castle or do any more magic and to do not surrender your wand."
"Well that has to be good news, right? If Dumbledore is on the case there's no way Harry can be expelled." Bell said
Harry didn't know what he was supposed to feel. His heart nearly dropped when he heard that he was being expelled and that they might snap his wand. Bell was gonna suggest that he go upstairs to get clean before another owl post appeared. From what Adam told him the Ministry won't snap his wand and he will retain it until his disciplinary hearing on the 12th. Thanks to Dumbledore the Ministry has agreed that the question of his expulsion will also be decided at the same time. So for now he was suspended from school until further notice.
After the four owl post, this time from Sirius, Harry had enough and hurried to his room to write three exact letters for Sirius, Ron and Hermione. Once he was done he gave them to Hedwig after she came back from her hunt. He would have sent one to Vanessa but she was on vacation in Romania with her father. He didn't want to ruin it for her as he knew she would drop everything to help him.
For the next three days Hedwig hasn't come back at all with any results. The whole time he was nothing but anxious and angry. His therapist, who was now FaceTiming him, did her best to help but he didn't want to listen. Bell and Adam were getting worried about him and were going to call Vanessa but Lupin and a few others arrived. Mrs. Potts retrieved Harry from his room and brought him to the den. In the room with Bell and Adam was Remus Lupin, Alastor Moody, a witch that looked to be in her early twenties and had short spiky violet hair, a bald black wizard with a single hoop in his ear, two older witches and three other wizards.
"How are you doing, Harry?" Lupin asked
"I'm…fine." Harry said before looking at Adam. "What's going on?"
"They are here to escort you to London. Dumbledore believed it was best you're closer to where the hearing is being held." Adam said
"Really?" Harry asked
"Yes, but we're just waiting for the all-clear." Lupin said
"Where are we going? The Burrow?" Harry asked
"Not the Burrow, no." Lupin said "Too risky. We've set up headquarters somewhere undetectable. It's taken a while…" Then he started introducing everyone. "This is Alastor Moody."
"Yeah, I know." Harry said
"And this is Nymphadora…"
"Don't call me Nymphadora, Remus." The young witch glared. "It's Tonks."
" – Nymphadora Tonks, who prefers to be known by her surname only." Lupin finished
"So would you if your fool of a mother had called you 'Nymphadora'," Tonks muttered
"And this is Kingsley Shacklebolt…" Lupin said, indicating to the tall black wizard, who bowed… "Elphias Doge" The wheezy-voiced wizard nodded. "And Dedalus Diggle…"
Harry had met the man before at the Leaky Cauldron years ago.
"Emmeline Vance, Sturgis Podmore and Hestia Jones."
Harry inclined his head awkwardly at each of them as they were introduced. Bell was surprised by how many people were escorting him but Professor Moody believed it was for the best. While they were still waiting for the single, Harry went back to his room to pack his things. Once he was done he headed back to the den. Some were looking at a few muggle electronic stuff as they were amazed by it. Then Moody placed a Disillusionment Charm on the boy as it was best to disguise him while flying. Harry said his goodbyes to Adam and Bell before following the other witches and wizards outside. It wasn't long till the signal was shot in the air. With one last goodbye Harry and the others got on their broomsticks and flew in the sky.

Hunter was in the library of the house when noticed the house being shown. The House-Elf, Creature, bringing him a drink and snack as the door opened. Out of everyone in the house the house-elf willingly obeyed him without muttering insults. That was mainly because he was head of the Black Family now. The number 12th Grimmauld Place belonged to the House of Black. His mother, Sirius and his other uncle Regulus had lived in this very house. It should have belonged to Sirius since he was the second eldest of Blacks' but since he was disowned it now belonged to Hunter.
"Would, young master, like anything else?" Creature asked
"No that will be all, Creature. You may leave." Hunter said
The house-elf bowed to him before leaving the room.
Hunter, who was entranced in the book he was reading, heard the door open and the familiar voices of Lupin and Moody. A few weeks ago he allowed Dumbledore to use the house as Headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix. He and the other teens couldn't join in the meetings but they have heard what happened to Harry. He could only guess that they finally brought the boy. He could only guess how mad the fifteen year old was for not getting an answer for the last few weeks. That's why he wrote to Vanessa. She was the only one that could calm him down, if not then maybe slap him until he does. He really thought she would be here by now.
Hunter then heard Mrs. Weasley voice greeting Harry before ushering him upstairs where Ron and Hermione were. He continued on reading but got irritated when Harry started yelling at his two friends.
"Almost wish Vanessa was here now." Dawn said when she came into the library.
"I think we all would feel the same as him in place." Hunter muttered "But yes. She always knew how to calm him down…and scare him into submission." He placed a magical bookmark to mark the page he was reading before closing the book. "What are you doing down here? Trying to listen in the meeting?"
"Sort of but there's some kind of shield charm around the door." Dawn sighed "I think I just saw Ginny throwing dungbombs at the door to test the shield." She sat down on one of the chairs in the room. "I was actually hoping that it was Vanessa that came. I wanted to talk to her before you two snog and go off to your room the whole week."
Hunter let out a chuckle.
"We're not that bad." He smirked
"You two are like rabbits in mating season when you two are apart." She joked. "You're lucky you haven't impregnated her."
"I don't see why that would be a bad thing. But if that did happen her father would literally impale me to the stakes like he used to." He said
The door opened again and they both heard the very person they were waiting for. Both quickly got up and went to greet her. They knew that they had to be quiet but Dawn ended up using her wand to tie his shoelace together making him trip and fall to the ground.
"You fucking cheater." He gritted
Dawn just stuck out her tongue at him and continued to the front entrance.
Vanessa had just arrived at the House of Black with her trunks and pets. Mrs. Weasley had just come out of the dining room and was about to hug her. That was until Dawn came running in and tackled her with a hug. Seconds later Hunter came in as well. He glared at Dawn and when she let Vanessa go he hugged her next.
"I missed you." He whispered in her ear.
"I missed you too." She smiled before looking at Mrs. Weasley. "Where's Harry?"
