The Heroic God Slayer

Chapter 21

This will be a bit slower and will set up a new… challenge as it is for Izuku. And where he stands with Hero Society, God Slayer influence, and a shift in the status quo. No point in revealing everything soon, so on with the show.

(No POV)

The day the internships were starting, Izuku noticed something odd about Ida's demeanor. Especially as he went to board his train. "Something's wrong I know it. But I'm going in a different direction." Izuku thinks aloud.

"Well luckily, I'm going with him." Mina says while walking up beside Izuku. She mentions that something seemed off with him during class so she was going to keep an eye on their vice president. "The partner of a Campione should help him where they can. Right?" Mina says with a little twinkle in her eyes.

Izuku smiles and agrees. He sighs a bit before joining Mirio on the train to go to Sir Nighteye's agency. Once he arrived, he came upon a strange sight. That being the sidekick Bubble Girl strapped to a machine that was tickling her incessantly.

"Ah Mirio. And this is Midoriya yes?" Nighteye says with a critical eye on the boy. Izuku confirms it and tells him it was nice to meet the former sidekick of All Might. He nods before telling them to follow him. "Uh sir? What about Bubble Girl?" Mirio asks with a look toward the sidekick.

Bubble Girl is still laughing uncomfortably and Nighteye looks her over before pushing a button and releasing her. "You have a decent point. But remember my principles Awata-san. There is no room for a society without humor." Nighteye says before escorting the students to his office.

'That seems a tad ironic coming from him and that deadpan look he usually sports.' Izuku thinks as they follow the man to his office. Once there, Nighteye goes over the basics of what being a pro hero entails in the current age. From patrols to the paperwork that goes into the arrests they make.

"But that isn't the main reason for some of our work. We also need to be symbols or security for the people here. Most pros will never be on the level of the top 10 and can likely never reach the peak that is All Might. But it still doesn't change that we need to show the public that 'we are here' to keep them safe."

After this little explanation, Nighteye asks that Mirio leave him and Izuku for a bit. "I need to discuss a few matters with young Midoriya here," he says with a slight glare directed Izuku's way.

Had this been a year ago Izuku might have been scared or crumpled at the pro's attempts at intimidation. 'But really his glare is nothing compared to all of the Gods I've come up against. Funny how going up against and defeating literal natural disasters can make you confident and see everything around as less threatening.'

Nighteye nods and respects the backbone Izuku showed. "You didn't flinch or look worried when Mirio left. That means you have plenty of courage to face even the worst villains." A small smile graces Izuku's lips as he thinks, 'you have no idea.'

"I have a few other questions I want to ask but for now I'm curious on what you can do. Can you show me what your quirk is?" Nighteye asks before standing and showing him to a training area. Izuku gulps a bit before agreeing to show him some of the skills.

Though that was mostly by relying on his Heracles authorities. 'No reason to show everything right away.' Izuku thinks while lifting a massive amount of weight Nighteye assumed only All Might could. Mirio then shows how well Izuku can take a hit by using his full speed permeating the ground and hitting him.

The blonde teen shakes his hand after and says, "man! It's like punching metal!" Meanwhile, Izuku easily recovered and got in front of his senior and unleashed a strong punch. Or he would have, but Izuku stopped just short of Mirio's face.

"Impressive. Not just the strength and durability, but your control as well. It took All Might a few years by his admission to properly control his strength. At least by his own admission." Nighteye said before saying they should go on patrol.

The two teens nodded and got fully ready for their patrol. Before Izuku joined them, he got a message on his phone. "Oh its from aniki. Wonder what he wants?" Izuku thinks aloud before opening the message.

It was apparently just a good luck message as well as one to remember his position as a king and Campione. 'Wonder what he means by that?' the young Campione thinks before putting his phone in his pocket. He joins Sir Nighteye and Mirio to patrol around the city a bit.

Mirio notes that his hero name was Lemillion. "I want to save at least one million people in my time as a hero. That's where my name comes from. Did you have an idea for a name?" Izuku looked down a bit uncomfortably before admitting that he couldn't come up with on that fit.

"Back when I was a kid I had a few. Though most of those were…. Well more in admiration of All Might. Now though. Those don't feel right you know. Considering what I can do." Izuku admits while looking to the side.

Nighteye finds that confusing considering from what he'd seen, Izuku was just like All Might in terms of power and capability. Mirio though has an idea on what he meant. 'His powers don't fit into one style or type of combat. Not only that, but some could find his king or tyrant title intimidating for the wrong reasons.'

As they are walking, Izuku hears something that puts him on edge. The sounds of panicked or terrified breathing. As well as a strange mix of scents. Only to be surprised when a little girl in bandages with a horn sticking out of her head runs into him.

The little girl looks up at him with fear in her red eyes and seems like she is trying to ask for something. "Eri! Where- there you are! Come now. We shouldn't make….. trouble for the heroes," a young man with a strange beak like mask says as he comes out of the alley.

He then apologizes to Izuku before saying he and his daughter should get back home. Mirio then arrives and apologizes as well. "Wait that mask… are you part of the Shie Hissaki?" the older teen asks with some suspicion.

The young man clears his throat before saying it was nothing like that. "I just dislike dirt." While he is speaking with Mirio though, Izuku notices the look in Eri's eyes. And that she as pleading with him to save her from the man who claimed to be her father.

"I think your daughter is afraid of something. Any idea on what that is sir?" Izuku says while thinking he wants to use his authorities to take the girl from the man. All he says is that she is likely scared of the scolding she'll get later for her recklessness.

Izuku starts to build a bit of magic before asking about the bandages and the like. But before he can really question anything Sir Nighteye arrives and reprimands both of the teens before apologizing to the man himself. "They're a bit impulsive and perhaps the sight of a scared child made them jump the gun a bit."

"I suppose that makes sense. But this isn't fully your concern. I will take care of this matte myself. Let's go Eri," the man says tersely. And roughly grabs her arm to escort her away. Izuku seems about ready to jump in and take the girl himself.

But Nighteye stops him before saying, "don't even think about it. It's not the time for this." He puts a rough hand on Izuku's shoulder before forcibly escorting him away. But Izuku keeps Eri in sight as long as possible. Still seeing the fear in her eyes.

Once they were a decent distance away, Nighteye reprimanded Izuku again. "I know there are some dirty or wrong things going on with that man, Chisaki Kai. But now isn't the time to make a move. I still need to gather more information for a warrant."

Izuku hates that idea, but he also feels like he can't go against the elder hero. Despite his instincts telling him otherwise. So, he lets out an angry and frustrated growl before focusing back on the patrol.

Around lunch, Izuku called Xeimei and asked what she thought on the matter. "It's hard to say honestly Izuku. But maybe you should have followed your own instincts on the matter." Izuku sighs before saying, "I think part of me knows that but… the other part feels like I still have to go along with the laws. It's just so confusing."

Xeimei nods before saying that he should maybe talk with Jonathan. "He's probably dealt with this more than once. Maybe he has some kind of advice to give?" Izuku nods before thanking his knight and telling her to enjoy the internship.

He gulps a bit before calling Jonathan. "Izuku! What's up? You should be starting those internships or whatever right?" Jonathan asks before sipping some whiskey in his hidden home. It was evening in Utah and the old Campione was just relaxing.

However, his calm demeanor was quickly lost when Izuku explained some of what happened. "I don't know…. I wanted to….. part of me kept screaming to take her away from him. To keep her safe somehow! But I….. the other part of me….. wanted to respect the laws."

"So let him take her and do who knows what other terrible things to her?!" Jonathan says while squeezing his glass hard enough it shatters. Izuku can tell he's mad and admits he's mad as well. But given he wants to be a pro hero he thought he should be following the laws.

Izuku was about to ask Jonathan what he thought, but the man interrupted him. "Izuku. What area of the city was this in?" Jonathan asks calmly. The boy is a bit confused by the question but he tells the elder Campione the rough area where he found Eri.

From the other side of the call, Izuku can almost see/feel him nodding. At this is when the old warrior says something that sends chills down Izuku's back. "What happens next, is on your head boy. You brought this about by a variety of actions."

And with a click the call is cut off. Izuku gulps and his appetite is suddenly gone. Asking Nighteye for the afternoon off. And while the man is about to berate him, the look on Izuku's face as well as some worry from Mirio is enough to let it go for now.

Later that evening at the Shie Hissaki headquarters, Jonathan was watching from an opposing roof. He pulls out his phone and calls up a few people. Namely, the heads of the Diet (associated with magic), Interpol, the SDF, etc. "Yeah. You know what to do. The fools in this building. They no longer exist. You heard me."

He hangs up the phone and glares down at the building. Using magic to enhance his senses, he can tell there were dozens of thugs inside. As well as a few who seemed to be a bit tougher or more dangerous.

"This will be a quick bit of destruction. Time to get to work." Jonathan says with a smirk before raising his hand and setting up a few things. Least of which is a soundproof barrier around the building. As well as making a sudden torrential downpour hit the area and a fog move in and sit around the building. And cutting off all communication out of the building.

Upon seeing this a few of the goons are confused. Some of them went out to get an idea of what was going on. Only to see something unnerving in the fog. Just outside of the gates to the main building, Jonathan was standing there.

His clothing was dark, and his eyes were shadowed. He walked toward the gate at a measured pace. Unsettling the thugs even more. One warned about him coming onto their turf, only to be scared when they saw a smirk on Jonathan's face.

He walked up to the gate and his eyes flashed as he held his hand up. He passed it by the bars of the gate, melting them away. And as he passed over the threshold, he held his hand to the side a bit before twisting and pointing upward with two fingers.

Suddenly, the gate was replaced by a large stone that no one could pass. One of the thugs calls in and tells Overhaul that someone was there. The head of the Shie Hissaki walks out with his Eight Bullets and the rest of his gang beside him.

"Who the Hell do you think you are?!" Overhaul demands while slipping off his gloves. He does feel a bit uneasy about the man before him, but he is assured of his gang as well as his own power being able to stop him.

He then orders Rappa and Rikiya to take him out. And both large men are happy to oblige. Rikiya uses his quirk to drain the man, while Rappa goes in to pummel him. Only for both to be shocked by a pair of shields that appear and stop them.

Rikiya grabs onto one that looked to have blades on it. And with a small move, the blades shield rotates rapidly. Ripping the man's hands apart. Leaving him with bleeding stumps as he screams.

Rappa on the other hand had a different shield he kept punching. One that seemed to have flames wreathing it. And because of his blood thirsty nature, he didn't even notice as the flames started to spread along his arms and set his body on fire. Even with the rain, it couldn't be put out.

A few others go over to help their allies, but a quick movement of Jonathan's fingers slices them in half. His glare never wavers, the fire burning in his eyes stays fixed on one point and person. Overhaul. The old warrior steps forward and says, "from this moment on. None of you are safe," as lightning flashes behind him.

The next morning, reports come in about the strange storm that whipped up during the night. As well as the strange unforeseen destruction that happened to a building in the middle of the city. With Nighteye coughing and spitting out a bit of his morning coffee at seeing it was the area where the Shie Hissaki had been.

"What?! How?! Who?! I don't even know where to start!" he exclaims as he sees a few of the members of the group being reported on. Some of them cut to pieces. Or burned to where there was nothing but some ashes and bones. Or frozen to death from the inside out.

Even some that had been pierced by what looked like bamboo shoots and trees that shot up into them. Either their stomachs or some right through their rectums and out their necks. With one of the most frightening being the man he and his interns had seen the day before.

Chissaki Kai was being brought out on a stretcher. His arms and legs sliced off, his body appeared to be burned and near ripped to shreds and suffering some strange visions that kept him thrashing and screaming out in a hoarse voice. But he couldn't die. Despite the state he was in saying he should be dead.

The strange thing though, was that none of the group had been identified. No records or existence were found. Not even the name of the men or the remains of the men in question. "How is that possible?! I know who they are! I'll report this and then…. Wait….. where is it? Where are they?!"

Nighteye exclaimed as he checked all of his files, even the backups and backups of backups. It was all gone. The names of the members of the Shie Hissaki. Their affiliations and records. Everything he had been putting together was gone. "How is this possible?"

"It's not hard for we who are the kings of this world," a voice said from the door behind Izuku and Mirio (they had followed their mentor up to check his files). Standing in the door was Master Jonathan. And in his arms was Eri asleep and happy.

Mirio and Izuku were a bit scared at the fact he was back, but Nighteye is livid. "You had no right to attack those men without going through proper channels! And you certainly had no right to delete everything I built up for the case to convict- guck!"

As the hero marched over to call out and arrest Jonathan, the man quickly reached up with his free hand and gripped Nighteye's neck. The old Campione not even budging as Nighteye threw a few kicks to make him let go.

"Aniki! Please calm down! Look I know I maybe should have-" But Jonathan interrupts him with, "This isn't just on what you should have done Izuku. You need to remember where you stand now. You are above all of them. Your word and will supersede everyone else's. You don't answer to the government, the HPSC, or even this fool."

The glare he levels at Izuku makes the boy feel the weight and fury that was barely held back by his elder's minor morality. Nighteye is still confused and tries to ask what he was talking about. Only for Jonathan to glare at the man and use his Psyche authority to force the details of who he and Izuku were.

It terrified Nighteye and his arms went limp as he passed out from fear and the lack of oxygen. He lets the man go before making sure that Eri was still mostly asleep. Mirio checks on his mentor while Izuku asks what he intends to do with the girl.

The old warrior looks down at the girl before rubbing her back and patting her head. "I'm going to give her something she probably hasn't had for a long time. A home and family. As best I can." Jonathan says with finality in his voice.

And Izuku knows he can't change his elder brother's mind. "It might be for the best. You could use something more than just wandering the world or realms to do. Though I do have to wonder how miss Midnight will take it." Izuku says with a slight chuckle at the last piece.

Jonathan nods before turning to leave. "Oh, one other thing. Something might be happening soon. You should check with your own mages, but I sense some kind of storm coming. And one of its main points will probably be Asia."

Izuku nods as Jonathan leaves with Eri in a flash of light. Sir Nighteye coughs a bit before asking Izuku to explain. "I'd like to know a bit more about who he was and what his stake in all of this was."

"I'm not really sure I should tell you more. You might get more in over your head than you realize." Izuku says with a look at his fellow green head. Mirio though is the one to break the ice a bit and suggests that he could fill Sir Nighteye in on more and Izuku could corroborate and elaborate the details.

The youngest Campione nods and tells Mirio to do just that. And after the explanation Sir Nighteye is unsure of what to believe anymore. "Those images he forced into my head. I couldn't make full sense of them, but it does clear things up. So you rule this nation….. is that correct?"

"More or less. I'm more of the line of letting things stand as they are and not trying to change things. But…. I'm more nervous about…. Demanding things or making declarations of my own. Aniki is used to it given he's 300 years old and has been ruling since he was 25 years old or so." Izuku says.

Nighteye isn't sure on what to think of all of this matter, but he wonders if the man would make another incursion for some reason. "Unless I give him a reason to, probably not. Especially if he does intend to be some kind of father to Eri."

Mirio nods and says, "at least he does have experience at doing that. Since he….. was a father and grandfather. He might be just what she needs." Nighteye leans back and lets out a strained breath before wondering what other crazy things could happen.

While this had been happening, Mina was walking with Ida and Manual through Hosu. With the reports on the news a few people were panicking and wondering if whatever did that was someone with a crazy powerful quirk.

Mina gulped before saying, "I think we both know who did that." Ida nods and shivers a bit at the images of the villains and the remains of a few of them. "I wonder if Midoriya will ever be like that." Ida thought before Mina shut that thought down.

"He won't. It's not in his nature. But I do have to wonder if he had something to do with this." Mina says before Manual tells them to keep up. Ida had yet to find or hear about who it was he was after, but Mina was keeping a close eye on him. 'Hopefully nothing happens while we're here. But I'll help him when it comes.' Mina thinks as they continue the patrol.

Though some of you might enjoy the idea of reading about the Hell the Shie Hissaki went though, I'd prefer to leave that to your imaginations. And yes this means that Eri won't have much of a role in the rest of the story. But she will hopefully have a happy new life with Jonathan in a safer place.

As for what will happen next, it won't come up immediately. But there will be something else that Izuku will have to step in on soon enough. While Mina is keeping an eye on the fool that is Ida at this point. And we'll peek in on the others soon enough. Especially those who will be part of the harem soon enough. Please review!
