36 Hours Later
Maura Isles was beyond exhausted. She had just finished her 11th autopsy and was sitting on her stool in the autopsy bay. She had thought she was finished three hours ago when Susie informed her two bodies Pike had autopsied, the ones that had diverted the dead 22 year old to Maura, were actually part of the current case. The one Maura had determined, according to science, were all victims of a serial killer. She was waiting on the bodies from Pike's autopsies to arrive, when Jane game dragging into the bay.
Jane looked at Maura as she leaned against the door frame. "I'm not sure who looks worse, you or me."
Maura, head against hand, stifled a yawn as she glanced up at Jane. "You need to get some sleep, Jane."
Jane did something she rarely did, she looked at Maura and answered, "I will if you will." She walked over to Maura and took her hand. "Let's go back to your place, shower and get some sleep."
Maura smiled. "Who are you and what have you done with Det. Rizzoli?"
Jane leaned down and whispered, "I'm your super hot girlfriend who loves you more than anything and thinks you need a shower and to sleep."
Maura scrunched her nose up and backed away. "You need to brush your teeth." Maura picked up the phone and dialed Susie. "I'm going home for a shower and a nap, tell Pike those bodies better be here in three hours." She looked at Jane. "And let Det. Korsak know that Det. Rizzoli is going with me."
Jane started to protest, but at Maura's look, she simply nodded.

Maura's House
Jane and Maura showered together, and they actually showered, too tired for anything else. As they got out and each dried themselves off, watching the other. As Maura was combing her hair, she told Jane, "Don't forget to brush your teeth."
Jane rolled her eyes as she picked up her toothbrush and began brushing her teeth. Teeth brushed, hair combed, clean underwear on, and she was sliding under the covers, where Maura was waiting. She allowed Maura to hold her and soon both women drifted off to sleep.
Maura was the first to wake, two hours later. She took a few minutes to watch Jane sleep, and as she started to ease out of bed, Jane's voice stopped her.
"I want to go down on you."
Maura stopped and turned to face Jane. "You need your rest."
Jane moved toward Maura, and pulled her back into bed, lying on top of her. "Going down on you does more for me than sleep. Please?"
Maura gave Jane an indulgent smile. "I can never deny you. And never will." She pulled Jane's head down and kissed her and threw her head back as Jane made her way down her body and found her center. She gasped and Jane went deeper and deeper with her tongue. She gasped and called out Jane's name as she climaxed.
She kissed Jane's lips and whispered her love for the detective. She had every intention of returning the favor to Jane, but the detective was back to sleep almost immediately. On top of Maura. Maura managed to work her way out from under Jane, and drifted back to sleep herself.
45 Minutes Later
Susie had called Maura to let her know the bodies from Pike had made it back to BPD. Both Maura and Jane had hurried out of bed, getting dressed in the process. Maura made it downstairs before Jane, and was busy fixing the raven haired woman a travel mug of coffee to take with her, knowing Jane wouldn't be home anytime soon. She smiled at the thought—Her house was Jane's home. Their home.
Jane came barreling down the steps and took the travel mug, taking a drink and smiling. "That's good." She stopped Maura and pulled her into a deep kiss.
Maura wrapped her arms around Jane and kissed her again. They stood holding each other for a couple of moments, and broke apart with another kiss. As they headed out the door, Jane got to the car first and opened the door for Maura.
As they pulled out into the street, they were being watched by the killer they were chasing. In fact, he had been watching the entire time they had been at Maura's. He knew they were a couple, he knew the blonde was the Achilles heel for the dogged detective. He had done his research as soon as she had requested that file on one of his earliest kills. She was worthy. He looked forward to doing battle with her. And beating her. Having her.

Morgue
Maura had gone back over Pike's two autopsies and while he had not missed anything big, he had also not documented that both victims had been raped and both women had their uterus' removed. Maura was reporting her findings to Jane and Korsak.
"Raped by the same person?"
"Yes Det. Korsak. And the reproductive organs were expertly removed."
Jane took a step forward. "Expertly removed?"
Maura glanced at Jane and Korsak. "Yes, your killer has advanced medical training." She went back to the bodies and consulted the autopsy report again. "I hate to say this, but you are probably looking for a doctor. A surgeon."
Korsak turned to leave. "I'm going to run this through VICAP and call an FBI buddy."
Jane started to follow, but Maura stopped her. "Jane, these two women were involved."
"Involved? As in...involved? A couple?" Maura nodded. "How do you know?"
Maura held up an evidence bag that contained a simple ring and then gestured to a bag that contained an identical ring. "They match."
Jane picked up both bags and saw that both rings matched. "The other women?"
Maura shook her head. "No, all the other women were either single, married to men or coupled. I think this one was a two-for-one."
Jane moved close to Maura and tilted her head up. "Maura, be careful. I'm going to have a uniform escort you home until we catch this guy. Don't leave here without me, Korsak or Frankie. Ok?"
Maura nodded, realizing Jane wouldn't ask her this if it wasn't important. "Ok, but what about you?"
"I carry a gun." Jane hurried out the door in search of Korsak.

Friday Morning
Maura placed a cup of coffee in front of Jane, who had her head on her arms, asleep. The aroma of the coffee and Maura's hand rubbing her back woke Jane. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up and took the coffee Maura had given her.
"You need to get some real sleep, Jane"
Jane took a drink of coffee and stretched. "I'm close Maura. Real close. It's right at the edge of my consciousness."
"I know. You will get this creep, Jane." She sat down across from Jane. "You need to be rested Jane. Speaking of which, do I need to call your mother and cancel dinner tonight?"
Jane winced and pinched the bridge of her nose. "No. This is important." She gave Maura a tired smile. "You are important. I made a reservation at Vitello's. Worst case, I meet you guys there."
Maura nodded and then squeezed Jane's hand. "See you later, ok?"

Late Afternoon
Jane and Korsak had been hard at work chasing down leads all day. Jane had all the case files spread out on the conference room table. She organized and reorganized the images over and over. It was on the sixth or seventh time that she saw something in an image from the two bodies that were a couple. She went back to her computer and ran a search, elated when an address popped up. Korsak came into the squad room, ready to head home.
"Korsak, I think I found something useful! I'm gonna check it out, you wanna come with me?"
Korsak rubbed his face, which had three days growth and shook his head. "Jane, I'm beyond exhausted. There are no reports of missing women, can we hit this first thing in the morning?"
Jane thought about the big dinner she was supposed to attend in less than two hours. She nodded and got up to follow Korsak out, intent on going home to change and head to her life changing dinner. She called Maura as she was walking to her car to let her know she would meet them at the restaurant.
She hung up and got into her car. She was just about to pull out when she felt a sharp prick on her neck and then a hand around her neck, pulling her back against the headrest, a cloth over her mouth.
"Det. Rizzoli, it's so nice to finally meet you." Jane slumped over and he got out of the backseat and got behind the wheel of Jane's car. He removed Jane's gun and pulled the out into traffic.

Vitello's Restaurant
Maura and Angela had arrived close together and got a table. Angela ordered a bottle of wine in anticipation of her daughter coming out. She poured herself a healthy glass and downed it in almost a single swallow.
Maura had watched Angela with a mix of amusement and fear. Actually, more fear than amusement. She glanced at her watch for the fifth time, willing Jane to arrive.
Angela kept pouring the wine for both of them and stealing glances at Maura's watch. When the time that Jane should have arrived came and went, Maura called her. The call went straight to voice mail. "I bet she's parking the car. She'll be in here in a few minutes."

Jane Rizzoli awoke on a cold floor in a dimly lit basement with a maniacal man standing over her.
"Who are you?"
The man laughed. "I am Dr. Charles Hoyt, Det. Rizzoli."
