A New Adventure
Chapter 5: Where to? Home.
As soon as Teddy Lupin and I left Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, we spent the night at a villa in Hogsmeade. We both woke up at the crack of dawn when I had a realization: both of us were parentless with no money and pregnant. "Teddy, baby, what are we doing? What's the plan?" I asked my boyfriend curiously. "We can go to my grand mum's and stay there for a while. At least while I sort this out" whispered Teddy. I got up from the bed and sat on a bay window overlooking the village and started to glance at Teddy. "You- you want to go to England?"
"Only for a while – it's not permanent. I'm sure gran will help us out."
I half laughed, "Teddy, why don't we just go home?" "You want me to go back there? Where I was judged; for getting high? I had to feel something, okay? My whole world is coming down and you don't get why I needed to get out of there!" started Teddy.
"Your world? How about mine, huh? I'm fifteen and pregnant. You basically made me chose you back there and not my parents who are probably worried about us!" I said in a whisper.
"If they are so worried, where are they? Huh? Victoire grow up and be mature enough to handle this!" he yelled. I started to tear up and the fact that maybe he was right or wrong, but I didn't know which one was it.
"This isn't about me! This is about you – you and your stupid pride. So maybe your parents aren't here right now but you do have people that care about you. I think that you're the one that needs to be mature and grow up. In case you forgot, I'm the one that's having this baby, so if you want to be a part of our life – I suggest you get your shit together and come home with me or I'll go without you. Your choice Teddy." I got up from the bay window and slammed the bathroom door.
I looked at myself in the mirror – wondering what I just did. I hadn't told off Teddy before but this time I couldn't hold it in. He has people that care about him – about us and he shouldn't throw it all away because he thinks he's all alone in the world. It makes me wonder; we all die alone anyways but long-term you have people that love you no matter what.
So, he got a little high because honestly, I would too If I could. He's sixteen and having a baby – no better than me. It's overwhelming – how we had to face everyone and last night of all days. I washed my face and went over to the main room. Started to pack my bag and I looked around and his side was all packed. He came into the room, and I whispered, "Are you coming home?" he nodded yes.
To both Teddy and I – Hogwarts is our home. Like every other student we spend seven years in that god forsaking place. But for the first time in forever, we didn't know what we were going home to. We were only gone for one night, but many things can happen in one night.
The Great Hall happened to be in the middle of dinner – students going in and out, devouring all the different delicious food and many conversations. However, as soon as Teddy and I stepped in – silence. No, we were not The Boy Who Lived, nor He Shall Not Be Named. We were Teddy and Victoire.
Theodore took this opportunity to put his right hand on my back and lead me towards the Gryffindor table while every single student had their eyes on us and were watching our every single move. "Not what I was expecting" murmured the father of my baby as he sat down. I half laughed while I said, "I thought we wouldn't even make it through the front door!".
As I was about to sit down – "Mr. Lupin and Ms. Weasley, nice of you to join us. I know you just came back, I would like to have a word in my office please." Said our headmistress and my aunt.
Teddy smiled as he replied "Mrs. Weasley, before we have our little chat could my pregnant girlfriend get a bite to eat, please?" Oh no, here it comes. Just as I thought we were about to have a quiet night. Turns out I was wrong. "Ted, we better-"
I was interrupted by, "Mr. Lupin, you and Mrs. Weasley will have dinner at my office accompanied by your guardians and her parents." "Yes, ma'am." We followed my aunt towards her office and in that enormous walk, my mind took over.
Isn't there some sort of legend saying that it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission? Well, I guess we are about to ask for forgiveness. They can't expel us, right? I mean it would look kinda bad if the prophet had a headline that said, "Hogwarts School expels couple after finding out they are pregnant and ran away."
Can you imagine? My family would be so disappointed and more so if my aunt happens to be the one that expels us. We were all wrapped up in our silence that I almost didn't see Aunt Ginny outside of the office. She looked sad; in fact, she didn't look like my fierce auntie at all.
She embraced Teddy in a hug, she whispered "I'm so sorry" countless of times between her tears. My boyfriend went completely mute, not saying a word just reacting to her hug. She let go of him finally and locked me in a similar hug.
As Aunt Ginny let go of me, she spoke, "Look before we go in there, I just want you both to know you have our blessing – to raise this baby, inside this family. He or she will be loved so much. And Ted – whatever you're going through just know you have a family." Teddy nodded in accordance with her words.
Aunt Hermione opened the door and there stood the entire Weasley family, me and Teddy's grans included. It was our own version of the feast in The Great Hall. Family was chatting and by my guess the kids were hungry because I could hear a little princess making a comment to her daddy that her belly was about to explode. "Teddy! Victoire! Oh my! Is it true?" asked Lily Luna.
The whole place went quiet. I could hear my heart beating – I could hear everyone's heart beating or so I believed. "Lily, go to the children's table now!" my uncle Harry Potter said through gritted teeth. "Sorry about that folks, Lils is very impatient."
The table looked so full, yet I was making my way to the children's table. The thing about the Weasley's is that you are allowed at the adults table as soon as you turn seventeen – that only is applicable during holidays, fancy dinners and in the case of family gatherings. However, Aunt Ginny directed both me and Teddy towards the adult table.
"We saved you a seat right between us and Bill. We hoped you would make it tonight," said my dear uncle.
"What exactly is happening tonight? Why the occasion of bringing everyone together when Christmas is in almost two months? I mean it's a very lovely setting but-" started the father of my baby.
"Well, after you left the grounds – we knew that what went down wasn't at all appropriate and tonight we just wanted to remember to both of you that you have a family that cares about you, and we don't want to lose either of you," said my father.
Teddy and I both sat down, he grabbed my hand under the table. "To a new adventure" said Grandma Molly as she raised her glass. Soon enough every member raised their glass and together said "To a new adventure."
The feast began, Uncle Ron started to fill his plate to the maximum and the kiddos almost started a food fight – courtesy of James and Fred. And soon enough all laughter died down and everyone was stuffing their faces from gran's cooking.
Most of the Weasley's bid goodbye as they returned home except for the Potters and my section of the Weasley's. Time to face the music. "Alright before you panic, don't. Your parents and guardians have decided that we will not talk about what happened the other day since it's no longer relevant" said my aunt Hermione.
"So, no drug test?" asked Teddy hopefully.
"Nope, no drug test" said Uncle Harry.
"If you're old enough to have a baby, then you're old enough to know what's good and what's bad" added my aunt Ginny.
"What about me? Am I in any trouble?" I asked.
"No, nou one iz in trouble. Thiz bahby is welcomed with opened armz" said my mother.
I stared in awe towards my family - me, Teddy and this baby we are all loved. I grabbed my boyfriend's hand and squeezed it while giving him a side bump. We once again bid goodbye and soon enough everyone went their separate ways.
Teddy and I walked hand in hand towards the Common Room, it felt so natural. Naturally for us to be in love – to begin. Scared? Yes. I was getting into something that was new and never done before – at least I think.
