Warriors of Remnant,\\\\\\\\\Chapter 1. Mission of Heroes Part 2.
Authors Note: Unfortunately, I did not make my goal by getting this chapter out when I had planned... a long while ago, but I hope the length and content of the chapter make up for the absence.
I did a little bit of editing of the first chapter (2/12/22) to give the characters more of an introduction than when I originally posted it. Most of what was added begins right after the team starts to critique the 'not so vanilla,' love life of Summer Rose.
To clarify, there is a pretty significant reason that heroic spirit Shiro is using the greatsword (Ragnell) as the primary instead of duel wielding his signature dao swords: Bakuya and Koncho, it will be revealed in future chapters. And before anyone ask , the swords will actually be the fanart mechashift hand canons because I think they fit into this world perfectly.
Laeticia is actually a character from Fate/Apocrypa, she was the willing French maiden whom Ruler Jeanné d'arc possessed in order to referee the Greater Holy Grail War. I did that because it seemed cliché and almost plagiarism to make Ruler Jeanné d'arc, Jaune's mother. But I admit I like the idea so I did make her his grandmother. Concerning her weapon, I knew I would have to be giving her something with quite a bit of mechashifting for the signature flagpole of Jeanné d'arc while still having a legitimate polearm. I chose the Fangtian Ji even though it is Chinese origin because none of the French polearms worked for the image or fighting style that I had for her, also I would image that the shaft of the weapon is slightly bulky/boxy, kind of like how Crescent Rose is.
Yes, I passed over the Hazel vs EMSL (Emotional) fight, but that's because it would have been a much more mellow version fight of the Salem vs EMSL (Emotional) fight with Hazel getting soundly beaten because of the combined skill, coordination, and power of EMSL. The skip is so that I can get to this fight which is the one I really wanted to write. While Hazel is a powerful opponent in his own right, he is not cursed with true immortality nor does he have magic. So how does a fight between powerful hunters vs a true immortal end? Well I guess you'll have to read to find out.
I personally like listening to music while reading and because to me, the right music enhances the story. Since this is an entire chapter that is combat based, I would recommend LEGENDARY | MOST EPIC BATTLE MUSIC….. Link: www. youtube watch? v=NtqRjGP3uoY
There isn't a fight theme for the music, it's literally an hour of music you would expect to hear to be played during a battle.
Wow, sorry for the long Author's note… here's the chapter.

Shiro blitzed forward leaving behind a trail of turquoise green and white rose petals, Ragnell was held low in his right hand. He stops right in front of Salem and delivers an upwards diagonal slash across her chest with both hands on his sword. Even as he cut several of the fingers of her raised hand black blood sprayed from the wounds as the sword about cleaved her in two.
The swordsman realizes that something is amiss as his sword slices through his target with practical ease. He didn't see it because his own attack happened too quickly, but he knew from the lack of resistance that she did not use her aura or magic to protect her. This was just one of many serious problems that they faced.
Aura automatically reacted to the sense of danger to protect the individual. It would've taken someone of high level of control to hold it back from reacting, but he doubted that was the case here.
It would make sense if she didn't have aura given her Grimm nature.
It would still be a problem if she didn't have aura because of her Grimm nature or even worse, she didn't need it.
He had put most of his strength behind that attack so the force of his swing carries him through. It forced him to step down hard on the heel of his right foot so to continue the spin and slash again.
However as he completes the turn, he see a hand in front of his face with a ball of dark purple magic. His alarm sense for danger blared in his head, screaming to dodge. He jumps away or at least tries to, he is held in place as a black tendril erupts from underground and grabs his leg.
A nail dagger coated with earth dust impales the arm of the Queen of the Grimm, shards of earth grow out of the arm, with the chain whipping up, yank her arm toward the sky right as Salem unleashes the ball of deadly magic.
The ball shoots harmlessly into the sky as Salem is whipped around by her arm.
The Swordsman cuts the tendrils holding him and jumps back to gain some distance as the witch screams in pain. The other members of the group pale as they heard Shiro's broadcasted his warning. 'Shit! She's not holding back with her magic! That was probably something akin to a Disintegration spell.'
Rex immediately rushes in again. Trying not give her time to focus. He jumps to the side to dodge a green lightning bolt and twisting to deliver a strike with the point of the blade, keeping the maximum melee length that his weapon would allow, he cleaves down from her head completely passing through her entire body without resistance. He lands and pulls his sword in a guard to block a thick black tentacle that lashed out at him. Even with aura actively enhancing his body, the force behind it still takes him off his feet and sends flying back. As several tentacles shoot out seeking to grapple him, they were severed as a large razor disk of compressed blue fire.
The other hunters on the team were busy cutting through and dodging with a cluster of tentacles of other tentacles spearing at them.
Leticia ideally would have stayed with Jasmine to protect her from any attacks, while Summer and Medusa bolted forwards to assist, but they were stopped in their tracks as they were forced to hack through the several other tentacles.
Jasmine was terrified, she could see the danger that he was in, they were putting their lives on the line for her, she could do the same for them. She didn't think, she acted, finally listening to the feelings that 'whispered' to her guidance on how to protect those protecting her. Sapphire flames ignited around her eyes as the young maiden pulled her arm back, fire formed into the palm of her hand and threw. The flame morphed and flatted into a circular disk as it left her hand.
The fire disk cut through the tentacles, freeing the swordsman from being grappled. He looked to the side spotting the thrower. 'Wow that is a very destructive fire disk!'
'Um, thank you?'
'You have a name for it?' Leticia asked as the ground buckled under her as she shot forward.
'What? Who names an attack?'
Salem lunges to chase after the swordsman but is stopped as she takes an Arc axe to the chest. The impact stagger her and her body sags to the side as the reverse blade axe rips a large chunk of black flesh out of her chest. Unfortunately, it regenerates almost immediately.
'You'd be surprised. It's like naming a semblance and helps explain what you are doing.
'Fine, how about fire frisbee?' She visibly pouted, she could hear the chuckling over the mental link.
'Nah too passive, how Destructo Disk? It's a disk of the hottest fire that destroys everything in its path?… Shit.' Medusa chimed in as she pulls the chain to the side trying to throw the Grimm Queen off balance, but the witch pulls against with all her physical strength, screaming as she did, causing her arm to be ripped off at the shoulder. Free of the chain leash, she charges the Arc, who readies herself.
'Fine, I will keep it as, Destructo Disk, for you guys. Wait, do you guys always banter like this when you fight?'
'Not all the time, just when we think we can handle the target or we are discussing bets.'
"Bets?" The Maiden says both out-loud and mentally.
It definitely worked to distract the non-combatant Maiden from the horrifying reality of their situation.
Laetitia strikes the witch several more times with both ends of her weapon at her legs, her entire torso, and head before she is hit point blank by a stream of black fire. The force of the blast sent her tumbling back. She hits the ground rolling a few times before reorienting herself and sliding to a stop on her to her feet, as her aura shielded her from getting killed, but it still sucked.
Salem's body was definitely far more durable than a humans' body. She assumed that it was on account to it being grimm matter. But without the protection of aura or thick bone plating they could cut through her body like butter. However, with the unholy regeneration, they were still at a significant disadvantage, not to mention the spectators surrounding them who could be unleashed at any moment.
But one of the greatest weaknesses that it had was that it could still feel pain. And that was what they were betting everything on.
=-0=-0=-0
The arm turned to black sludge as it hit the ground and a multitude of Grimm began to rapidly grow out of the black blood.
The Summer Maiden screams in fear and blue flames erupts out of her hands targeting the forming grimm, incinerating them before they can fully form.
The Swordsman curses as he lands, drawing Bakuya and firing as he rushes to get back into the fight, mentally shouting out, 'ZULU, SWITCH TO ZULU!'
The other members of his team retreated, switching their weapons to their firearm form now realizing the danger they were in.
"What are we supposed to do in Zulu?" Jasmine yelled a she unleashed a torrent of white lightning that appeared to counter Salem's murky green lightning. Even though she forgot about the saying it in her mind, the response she received was mental.
'Target can rapidly regenerate from any injury! Meaning we need to conserve our strength to deliver enough injuries to overtax the regeneration before going for the kill or retreat to get more firepower.' Medusa explains as she, appears at Jasmine's side, the mocha skinned girl is startled as she feels the wind of the tracker who then disappears a moment later to be right next to Salem. She delivered a series of six stab-slashes to the back of the grimm witch before being forced to leap back, as bone spines shot out from the witch's body. And a couple Grimm grow from the blood. A Berringer and a Minotaur. She disappears from beside the witch and appears right next to the Arc. Her disappearances are not the result of teleporting, her outrageous speed. Summer would call bullsh!t but… Summer did not allow herself to swear even mentally. A habit that carried over from constantly stopping the others from cursing in front of the kids.
Before Salem could counter attack, Summer struck first, from the side, stabbing Lost Vayne into the witch's side. She had to duck and leap away as the witch's lashed out with an enlarged clawed hand. It missed her face by inches, but it caught the hood of her white cloak and a few strands of hair, slicing it open, revealing the surprised look on her face and, silver eyes.
Silver eyes locked onto the blood red ones.
"YOU!" Salem screeches, sending a number of tendrils after the silver eyed warrior and charges her, ignoring the damage and attacks inflicted on her by the other three members of EMSL. She pulled her body free from the chain nail daggers, ripping off her arm without hesitation. She kept moving forward even as the bullets blew holes into her face and neck.
She didn't need to worry as her immortal curse healed her as fast as they could damage her. As a stream of blue flames burned and blinded her. The Rose cut at the dozen tendrils that stopped her retreat. Salem used the moment to lung forward and grabs the silver eyed maiden by her and throat and her sword arm.
Summer could feel the unbridled, unmatchable hatred in those grimm red eyes. She stabs the Grimm witch in the chest with her sword breaker. The witch flinches, and throws up a large amount of black blood, but her grip continues to gets tighter.
"YOU WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH MY PLANS!" Salem screamed at the silver eyed maiden.
The others can tell that Salem's hatred for Silver Eyed Warriors is so blinding that she isn't seeing the rest of the world. Evidence by the fact that she ripped her arm off to launch herself at the white cloaked huntress.
The arm hit the ground and melted into black, bloody sludge. Three Grimm formed out of it, a Berginnel and two variations of Minotaur.
The first minotaur resembled more of a demon than a Minotaur with single eye in the middle of its bone mask, horn curving around the side of its face, with a leathery hide skin. It had more pronounced bone plating on its shoulder, that could be mistaken for pauldrons, it had bone plating all along its body with the heavier plating along its bipedal legs, clawed feet, and a wicked bone spike on its arms.
As it looked around, it laughed in a chorckling bullish laugh. At hearing the laugh, Medusa decided that she was killing that one first, its borderline demonic laugh was creeping her out.
The second one much more resembled the mythological minotaur with two eyes, with the bone snout more of a grimmified cow face with three eyes on each side of its face and a wide set of horns. Its skin was covered in black fur, the bone plating on its chest spanned its entire torso, one had large heavy bone plating on its chest and unlike the other variation, had hoofed feet.
The third Grimm that formed was a Beringel. It was bigger than normal ones. It roared, beating its chest before going after the only male present. "I guess this one likes me" the swordsman muttered.

Medusa sprinted full speed at the deranged Minotaur, as it lunged forward to grab her, she leaped over it, twisting and dropping a chain connected one of her dagger. The chain wrapped around the throat of the one eyed Minotaur. Previous experience with them had proven that the hide was both tough and thick, but she wasn't planning on piercing it. As she landed, the tracker pulled the chain taunt the Minotaur's head was pulled completely backwards, followed by an audible CRACK as the beast's neck broke.
=-0
The second one rushed to attack the Maiden and the Arc. Its head was low with its arms outstretched ready to grab them.
Laetecia smiled excitedly as it came at them full sprint, she patted Jasmine on the arm before running to meet the charge head on.
At the last moment slid on her armored knees, and leaned back, barely making it under the bone mask of the Grimm.
As she passed under it, she pushed off of put a foot out to stop and turn, and swung Luminous Eternell. Her aim was low, and she her blade cut straight through the left knee of the Grimm.
It tumbled hard with the loss of half of its left leg.
The Grimm looked up to stare at the Maiden, a wave of fear emanated off of her as their eyes met. The beast started crawling towards the intoxicating scent, bellowing as it did.
The Maiden froze. The monsters didn't even seem to feel pain, their red eyes filled with hate and bloodlust, wanting nothing more than to tear her apart as it crawled towards her.
Laeticia jumped on its back, pulling the trigger on the shaft, causing the axe blade was coated in flames. Golden wings sprouted from her back, beating upwards to create more force to pin the minotaur to the ground.
She stabbed down at the back of the neck of the Grimm with the center blade of the Fangtian axe, the blade cutting through the spine. Killing it instantly.
As the monster starts to disappear in a cloud of ash, the Angel of Death looks around for another threat only to see the terror in the young maiden's eye. And her motherly instincts take over.
She wasn't looking at a powerful woman gifted with magic, she was looking at a scared young girl, whom power was thrust upon without warning.
The mother of eight walked over and embraced Jasmine in another hug, pulling the girl's face ink her unarmored shoulder and her wings folding around her protectively. Such a gesture wouldn't be possible if the rest of the Grimm hadn't been commanded to stay out of the fight.
"I can't do this!" The girl sobbed, "I am not brave! I am not…"
Even though they were about the same height, Laeticia gently pulled the girls head down and kissed the girl on the forehead. "It's not your fault, you were never expected to fight and soon you won't have to, it's why people like me fight exist." She whispered soothingly in her ear. "Just try to be brave a little longer, it'll all be over soon."

Shiro slashes upwards with his blade up, cleaving through the Beringel as it swings its arms down to smash him. The body falls on both sides of him as it starts too slowly turn to ash.
He moves forward and immediately brings the blade down cuts off Salem's arm as his sword glowing red from the fire. Immediately, tendrils of black come out of the damaged limb, connecting it back to the body, the hand is useless only for a moment but it is enough to give Summer the opportunity to escape using her semblance and dash back next to Jasmine. Salem goes to follow, ignoring the swordsman, but the swordsman doesn't let her by slamming the flat of the blade of Ragnell into her torso as hard as he can. Her body bends from the force as, very audibly, bones break and organs burst as she is sent flying back from the hit. As she stands back up, eyes burning with hate, the silence was filled by cracking as bone repaired themselves and snapped back into place, arms regrow out of the their wounds.
Shiro slashed the air, a silver portal is sliced into existence. He shouted "Concentration is broken! It's time to go!"
He quickly reloads and fires a Byakuya at the Grimm, but he doesn't aim at monsters, he aims at the ground in front of them firing off high explosive dust rounds.
The explosions fragmentation of the rocket terrain, shrapnel that maimed the faces of the grimm.
As Laeticia retracted her wings back into herself; Summer grabbed ahold of Jasmine in a side hug and and Laeticia was by the shoulder. Then dashed both of them towards the portal.
The Queen of the Grimm saw the red portal and the white streak headed for it and furry filled her. They insulted her. They did not submit, they did not die, and now they tried to run?! They had to audacity to think they COULD leave?!
She let out a banshee like scream. "NOOOOOOO!"
It rang out and hit them all like a shockwave.
All members had to cover their ears, the portal almost flickered out of existence as Shirou dropped down to his knees momentarily, covering his ears from the eardrum shattering scream. Medusa and Summer both stumbled as they were hit with a wave of vertigo from the scream. She pulled Jasmine into a tight hug knowing that Laeticia was tough enough to handle the tumble. There definitely was magic laced through her voice. Even the grimm seemed to cower at expression of her rage. Laeticia cut the telekinetic link as she felt a painful feedback loop of the scream.
A dozen magic lances of all different colors shot out of her. One of the bolts hit the portal and shattered it, causing Shirou to stagger at the disruption.
Summer shivers, she felt the hatred, the desire to hurt her unendlessly. It reminded her of Ozpin's warning of ever being captured in combat.
He had never spoken of it, but she always had the inclination that Ozpin had to have been captured at least once by Salem over the hundreds if not thousands of lives he lived. She was sure that he killed himself when it happened to avoid mind breaking torture. She made a vow to herself that she would never let herself be captured by the witch.
At that moment it seemed that Salem had said, "Fuck it" to restraining the grimm. The ground trembled as grimm charged forwards.
A large clamor of razorwings swarmed them along with a number of humanoid-bat grim, Jasmine threw a number of balls of fire into the air. The sizes varied, sometimes they would fly out into the distance as they burned through the Grimm, other times they would explode midair. Out of luck they kept the clamor of aviary Grimm at bay. After the first fireball killed a few of their brethren, the more dangerous humanoid bat grimm circled at a further distance screeching at both grimm and hunters, the other grimm both in the air and on the ground responded accordingly to the screeches. Salem definitely wasn't giving orders. She was solely focused on the perceived most dangerous threat in of the group, Summer Rose, the silver eyed warrior.
As Laeticia batted a rather large Ursa Major back into the horde before looking recognizing the aviary Grimm as one swooped at her. A chill ran down her spine. "We got Vampires!" She shouted as she quickly checked the satchel that they had taken from Hazel, seeing the item she was looking for in it, golden wing grew out of her back, the wingspan reaching 20 feet.
The Angel of Death took to the air, she flew high into the air, blowing past and above the Razorwings and Vampires, only bothering to slay the ones that got in her way. She trusted the rest of her team to make sure to that Summer didn't get killed while she eliminated the threat of the vampires before they became a more serious problem.
Vampires were dangerous because of their natural intelligence. To see one outside of a Layer, usually meant that it's age made it an Ancilla or an Elder. One being that old also meant that they could command other species of grimm, not just younger vampires, and strategically at that. Grimm grew more intelligent as the aged and unfortunately for humanity, Vampires aged quickly in comparison to other Grimm. But here at the grimmland, there was no telling how old these vampires were.
Even without the telekinetic link they each had the same thought. If only they had a brought a Belmont. Trevor with his daughter Atalanta or one of his brother's like Ricter, with them, then they would unleash the fury and skill of the Belmont on the vampires and the vampires would cease to be a problem. But unfortunately there weren't as many Belmonts as their were Arcs in the world so finding one that wasn't busy working was a rare thing, and bringing one on this type of mission would have been a farfetched dream. And as someone who could fly, she was the next best person to take on this threat.
Laeticia rotated the dust cartridge in her axe to lightning and kept climbing higher. Once she was in the clear, she slowed down enough so that the grimm chasing her did not break away, but continued to chase.
She continued to lead them higher, further away from the battlefield and when she deemed them high enough, she dropped a large water dust crystal from the satchel and beat her aura wings hard, putting on a great burst of speed. As the water dust crystal made it to the level of the grimm, she unleashed a bolt of electricity in her Fangtian and struck the water crystal. She embedded an ice dust Crystal into her aura wings, causing them to be temporarily fused with the frozen element and folded them around her. It was a trick that she had learned to protect herself from those who had fire semblances.
The air burned as a giant ball of plasma incinerated the grimm with a boom. The land became lit up as a small sun shone over it for a few seconds.

Summer continue to dodge and weave out of the way of the enraged witch's attacks, being forced to use her semblance in short bursts. The grimm witch was obviously using magic to enhance her own speed otherwise she would never even gotten close.
"Silver eyes can only EVER be a NUISANCE!" She seethed. "They are worse than OZMA!" A very cruel smile grows on her face, "Fortunately, you cannot escape as he can."
Summer shivers, he had never spoken of it, but Ozpin had to have been captured at least once by Salem over his hundreds of lives. He probably killed himself to avoid mind breaking torture.
Shiro, how are your contacts holding up?
They are starting to crack, but they are holding for now. Every attack is magically based, be careful. I can see why Ozpin and Solomon are terrified of the idea fighting her alone.
As Salem continues to try grabbed at the silver eyed warrior with grotesque clawed hands, she starts to unleash various colored bolts of magic. The various effects of the whatever the different colored magic hit were devastating. Grimm were melted like acid from a murky green bolt, a sections of earth was transformed into a pit of lava from orange bolt. Pillars of ice erupted from where pale blue bolts hit. Grimm and rock were disintegrated being touched by a white bolts.
Glancing back at the destruction they are causing Summer calls out mentally, "Cloak and Dagger."
As she slashes Salem across the torso with a currently brown Lost Vayne. Which causes stone to protruded from the wounds. Medusa flew in from the side, punching Salem with her spiked D-guard dagger before spinning off and dashing away to dodge the green lightning bolts that were shot wildly after her.
A streak of white light rushed from behind the mistress of grimm, it crashed into her and then bolted off to the right causing the upper body of the witch's body to literally snap forwards. Salem held in a scream as he as r spine snapped and was pulled back together. Her body may be infused with Grimm, but she still felt the pain of every slash, every aura infused fist, and every bullet. It had been decades since she had fought anyone who could hurt her like this, and her pain tolerance had drastically diminished because of it.
0-=
Summer continued running, she sheathed Lost Vayne on her lower back and grabbed Starshatter with both hands, the sword breaker shifted, growing to the length of a broad sword. The teeth meant for catching a sword grew along with the blade spread as well, making once side of the broadsword serrated.
She slashed across the grimm witch's torso, the sharp teeth ripping chunks out of her appeared in front of Salem, flashing away, leaving a trail of white rose petals behind. She disappeared in a streak of white light
And reappeared in front of Salem to slash her, using her momentum to strike harder and avoid any counter strikes.
As Summer appeared in front of Salem, the witch feel the teeth of the serrated broadsword viciously ripping chunks of flesh out of her, before the white cloaked huntress darts away.
A black mass of tendrils seemed to explode out of the witch chasing the huntress. The black appendages were intercepted by Shirou, who jumped into the middle and did a complete rotation, cutting them most of them and releasing a wave of flames, burning them back.
The Hunters start pressing their attack again, using their preset tactical plans.
The red swordsman began by charging the witch head on, dodging the red glyphs and striking her in the head with the flat of the blade. He held back only a little as to not take her head off, using the force to stun and cause a nasty headache rather than kill. His job was to try to keep her attention away from the junglers who would follow up with lightning fast, hit and run strikes and then retreat into the horde of Grimm.
It was getting worse for them, the fight is no longe with the Grimm being released. Even before that, they could not claim to be winning against an immortal.
The damage they are dealing her they can see the regeneration close the wounds almost instantly. This was a battle of attrition, whose will would last longer, who would tire first.

Laeticia spun, in a fluid rhythm, this battle was a dance, one that she was all too familiar with. With Lumosity Eternel and Angel Wings shown a fiery red and bright gold. She was a whirlwind of death as she moved across the plain, every move precise.
A Reaver was sliced in two as the wings slashed open a triceratops head causing it to spaz and collapse, a ghoul leaped at her only to be impaled and then thrown into the horde. An Alpha Beowulf have its throat eviscerated and its body used to slam into several of its pack. A spinning Boarbatusk was kicked back in the horde, bowling over many Grimm in its way.
The Angel may have grounded herself, but didn't have to worry about being overwhelmed as she danced around the streams of fire cast by the panicked Maiden.
0-=0-=0-=
Medusa is the naturally fastest person there. While Summer likes to boast about her speed because of her semblance, Medusa could match her without one.
The snake faunus is a blur of magenta and black as she stabs and punches the witch, however, she is not the first or even the hundredth agile combatant that Salem has fought throughout her life.
Each time the Grimm witch can see she is going to take a hit from one of the agile combatants, she creates a shockwave to disrupt her movements.
It hardly affects the tracker, as she weaves her way around and through the larger Grimm in order to entangle the Grimm. The shockwaves that are sent after her are almost slow, and she and Summer could easily leap out of the way or move behind a large Grimm to shield them.

Jasmine doesn't understand what she is feeling. Her powers had never been so, in control as the have been right now.
With her hands wreathed in flames, the powers seem almost excited to be used, even though it has been fluctuating in strength.
When she made the fire disk it was focused and powerful. When she shot streams of fire, it may use more power in it, but it wild and was wasted energy caused by panic. She takes a few more moments to loser it, before a should from one of her guardians bring her back to reality.
'It's based on emotions.' She concluded. As the fire grew and shrank.
'Say something princess?'
'Nothing, just figured it out' she responded quickly, she didn't want to distract her saviors. She knows that she could be wrong, but she can ask more about it later.
"That's great Sweety! Now, would you mind helping us kill some of the Grimm? There are a few more here than I am comfortable being around." Summer encouraged.
Jasmine spun around at he sound of a hissing roar and threw a fire disk down The maw of a crocodile like Grimm with long legs that jumped at her. The fire cleaved the top of its head off straight and cute through several more Grimm in its path behind it before it is obscured by the number of bodies. She makes another one and throws it, and then another, each one becoming easier to make, the magic flowing almost rejoicing in being used.
But despite the considerable use of magic, the Grimm were still closing in around them.
"Summer! Nuke! We're being swarmed!" Shirou shouted. He creates a large sky blue cross shield in front of him to block a powerful bolt of orange lightning shot at him. The bolt cracks the shield, but is still absorbed. Then the bolt is reformed at the center of the shield and launched right by back at the witch. The shield crumbling afterwards. In response she raises a hand with a red glyph on it to casually to block the reflected magical bolt. Except that the bolt that hits shatters through her magical defenses and disintegrates her arm up to the elbow.
She screams out in loud pain as the side effects of being hit with her own magical spell takes effect. She starts spazzing violently.
=-0=-0=0–=0-=0=-0
Summer looks around; her teammates, her friends are being swarmed, they are losing ground all around them, but are making up the ground in one direction by constantly pushing. But they can't do that forever. Emotions well up inside her, she lets her desire to protect those she cares overwhelm her. Summer's silver eyes flash with a powerful white light as she unleashes the power with a scream. It spread out in a wave that washed over all the grimm, exterminating all lesser grim and petrifying the Alpha and ancient of Grimm. Even the Ancient Wyrm screamed at the power being released from the silver eyed warrior.
She gasps for air as she recovers from using her eyes. She has to put a large amount of her energy into it to be able to wipe out the swarm that had been gathered. Her knees buckled and Laeticia stepped forward to catch her so she didn't fall.
The area around them was clear of any Grimm. Except for the petrified statues of the some of the ancient Grimm, that could resist complete disintegration due to their mass.
The few older aviary Grimm that had survived the supernova Laeticia created, fell from the sky were petrified.
Once they were sure that the sky would no longer rain stone statues. Jasmine spoke up, "What is with you guys? I know that I can do more, things, but that is because I have magic, even if I can't do it we'll yet. But you can't have magic and so, why does it looks like you all have more than one semblance?"
"That's a good girl. You're paying attention," Medusa answers. As she approvingly patted the girl on the shoulder, "You'll get a better explanation when we get out of here. We are different, kind of like you, but not."
That just caused the poor girl to look even more confused.
Shiro decided to take pity on the young girl and give her a brief explanation, "The flash of light from Summer is not a semblance but actual magic, hereditary magic, unlike yours. It is something that the Grimm are more vulnerable to that magic that Dust.
"The other things; projected shields, speed, wings, telepathy are all semblances. They come from my semblance, Arsenal. It treats semblances like weapons. Basically I can store, use, and give out semblances through aura transfers, but there is a backlash and a limit for both me and people granted extra semblances. We can talk a lot more about it later."
She just nodded, it was a lot to take in all at once, but that was the chaotic nature of life.
=-0=-0=-0
A pitch black sphere is the only thing left on the field that opposes them.
Shirou slashes the air with his sword glowing a hint of red. He frowns when nothing happens, "Summer didn't get a clean shot, I still can't make a portal out of here. She is still concentrating on the magic preventing us from leaving, but…"
His red aura sparks like electricity before taking the shape of a black dao blade with red hexagons pattern and a yin&yang symbol near the base of the blade. He grips it and strikes its edge along Ragnell.
When there is nothing more than the satisfying clang of steel ringing against steel, he wills it away. "Fortunately it is not affecting us."
Laeticia clicked her tongue annoyedly "Tch. She really doesn't want us to leave."
Several bolts of green lightning burn holes through the shield at them as the shadow wall drops. The most of the hunters were barely able to dodge the surprise attack. Shiro happened to be standing next to Jasmine, summoned a large pink flower shield with several shields in front it, in front of them. He would have preferred to dodge, but the Maiden with them did not stand a chance of dodging or blocking. All the shields in front of the flower shatter led after two of the green lightning bolts hit them.
The other members of the team did dodge, not willing to risk the tanking a hit, as several more arcs of green lightning streamed towards them.
None of them saw the wave of shadows on the ground underneath them until it was too late.
Thin Grimm arms reached out from the shadow and grabbed each one of them, pulling them to their knees.
None of them are able to dodge, as they are caught off-guard and restrained by the shadows. One of the hands grabbed Summer by the face, forcing her eyes shut, another sprays a tarlike black ooze into the Summer Maiden's face, also blinding her.
Jasmine starts to panic, she has been caught by the queen of the Grimm who is going to torture and kill her for the Maiden Power and…
Jasmine calms down as she feels a familiar voice in her mind, Summer, whispering soothing words to her telling her they are not done yet and have a plan to get out of this still.
She starts to concentrate, trusting the huntress to guide plan.
Clouds start to form in the sky. As more cloud gather, they start to swirl

"It's true that a simple spark can ignite hope…" Salem started as she approached the restrained hunters and maiden.
"Oh my Oum, she's monologuing isn't she?"
"Could be worse, she could be killing each one of us right now."
"Well… point taken." Leaticia deadpanned.
"Got a plan?"
"Working on it."
Summer chimed in with her mental voice, "I got one, just let her talk for as long as she wants, Jasmine…"
"…Breath fire into the hearts of the weary, the ability to derive strength from hope is undoubtedly one of mankind's greatest attributes. Which is why I will focus all of my power to stuff it out." She looked cruelly at them. The hunters and Maiden restrained by her magical shadows before continuing, "How does it feel?…"
The low cloud bank formed above them, they are lighter than the sky and different from the red tinted clouds that they can see.
Salem doesn't seem to notice or care, which works to their advantage.
"How much longer" Medusa asked, her body starting to cramp because of the awkward position she is being held in.
"Just a little longer, she is new but she is doing really well." Summer encouraged
"T-Th-nk. u." Jasmine barely got out, she was having a difficult task focusing on the task that was far beyond anything she had every attempted with the Maiden Powers.
"Knowing that all of your time and effort has been all for nothing. You can continue to train your guardians, your huntsmen and huntresses, and when they fail, because they are sent to their death, I will enjoy watching it all burn."
As Salem finally ends her speech. There was a bit of silence from the group as they pondered what to say to a monologue they weren't listening too. Finally, Medusa spoke up, breaking the silence. "You don't get many people you feel you can talk with as equals, do you?"
Salem actually thought about that for a moment before she answered, "You are correct, out of the few who have dared venture to the inner most sanctum of my kingdom, you are the first in a long time who have been worthy of my attention.
"Innermost sanctum? I can't help but notice at the I don't see your castle anywhere, and I doubt a queen like you would live in a cave." Laeticia retorted,
The witch walked around Shirou who was stan—kneeling at the front of their formation and then stroked her cheek gently, a touch which the Arc tried to retreat from with little success. "Oh my darling, the world of remnant is my kingdom, you just haven't surrendered to the reality of that yet."
"Maybe you haven't accepted reality yet. Strength, won't always achieve victory, but it sure helps. I can't help but remember the story of Hercules a few decades back, how he killed an Eldrich Vampire that had an ungodly regeneration." Shiro recanted, "What the stories don't say is that she fled Mistral so she wouldn't suffer from his wrath. The story had been changed by the poets to not spread panic about an immortal grimm, but that was you, wasn't it." His breathing had calmed down, even though his pulse was still pounding and almost certain death stood right in front of them. He had been standing at the head of the formation so he was the first approached.
"Yes." Salem answered with clear irritation in her voice. "That was indeed me, and I will acknowledge that Heracles was indeed worthy of the title 'Hero of Mistral'. But time is always on my side so I needn't worry about him."
"What about during the Great War when King Leonidas and his personal bodyguards of 300 spartans that held Thermopile pass at the eastern end of Anima against tens of thousands of amphibious grimm?"
She stared at him for a bit lazily before gasping, "My dear, what happened to your eyes? They look like they are broken… shouldn't your aura be repairing them. But I am impressed by your will of steel in ignoring the pain." She asks while stroking his cheek. "Broken eyes do not suit a handsome man, if you cannot fix them, then perhaps I can, and make you mine in the process."
Rex started to sweat, she had noticed his damaged color coated contacts, that were on the brink of falling apart. They would be dead in another moment if the contacts broke without them being ready.
"They, are my contact lenses. And it seems that they have cracked during battle."
"What are contact lenses?"
They all looked… those who weren't forcefully blindfolded, at Salem with an incredulous expressions.
It took Shiro a moment to think of an appropriate response, "Do you know what glasses are?"
"As a matter of fact I do. Glasses are spectacle like gimmicks that people where on their face."
"Not so much a gimmick. Contact lenses are like glasses, but they rest on the eye itself."
"Oh. So your vision is poorer than that of your team?"
"Yeppp." Shirou lied simply. He had no idea where this conversation was going, but he would play along with it for now.
Salem had to ponder that for a bit, long enough that they started to wonder how much faster the modern world had developed since she had started to put more effort into consolidating her power in the kingdoms and gathering new members she could conscript to her inner circle.
But these little, simple inventions that kept being made did surprised her.
She never forbid her subordinates from the use of technology solely relying on her Grimm, so long as they kept her goals in focus above their own.
She herself did not find much use for technology as her own Grimm were both her weapon and eyes.
She could command them to attack whatever target she wanted, coordinating all the way from her castle, but that always took time and usually her target spotted the hordes forming unnaturally and prepared defenses for it. If she 'anointed' a Grimm, she could look through its eyes to see what they saw. She had dozens of these anointed grimm over each continent.
Tyrian was an example of someone who used modern technology and relied on their own ability, with weapons being able to shift, and his semblance making him a antihuntsman. She had rescued him from
Hazel didn't use technology, he relied solely on dust and his strength. To be honest, there wasn't much that technology could do to enhance how he fought. She had found about a decade ago, and he was almost as idealistic as he was angry, which in most societies would have branded him as someone to be institutionalized until he could at least learn to control his anger. But keeping him in his current state made him more useful to her.
He also was skilled in finding worthy candidates to recruit for her cause. He was currently talking to a disgruntled Atleasan scientist who was nearly the definition of pompous arrogance even when talking to her, but that would likely change if she thought he were to meet her in person.
"Another way to describe them, are miniature clear plastic shields that are placed over the eyes to protect them from dust and to a very limited degree, airborne debris." Deciding to stretch the lie just a little bit, he started to concentrate on the only thing that could save them.
The Grimm witch feels a momentary spike of fear from white haired swordsman, "A wise choice, to protect your eyes. One of my subordinates told me about a little trinket like that, what did he call them…" she paused for a moment to think,
A few moments pass before Medusa decided to answer, "did you mean conta—"
"Contact lenses, that is what he called them. Now, you have stoked my curiosity, I would like to see your pretty eyes, before I end all of your existences."
"I wouldn't exactly say that his eyes are green, but I can say that someone else's eyes are much more interesting…" Leaticia answered with a smirk. Salem looks up annoyed, only to see that the tarlike grimm muck being burnt off Jasmine's face, revealing actual flames surrounding her eyes. The spinning funnel of clouds above unleashed a torrent of blue fire from above spiraling down at Salem. The grimm witch raised a hand above her, a red glyph forming to block the flames, she grimaced at the excursion it took to block the attack. The ground cracked and gave a little under the force of the fire.
She could have let the attack hit, but burning alive was one of the most painful ways to 'die'. As she focused on reinforcing her protective ward, the huntresses start to struggle and wrench themselves free. The immortal witch raises her other hand and more Grimm hands start led grabbing the other huntresses them, pulling back down. And with that effort the fire from above extinguished itself.
Salem looks down at the swordsman, curious why he didn't try to move, even the maiden had struggled, as pitiful an effort as it was.
He looked up at her to show that his contacts are off, revealing a par of glowing silver eyes. The group had TWO silver eyed warriors who knew how to use their eyes!
Shiro unleashes his Tsunami a moment later not giving the Grimm witch a chance to dodge or block the wave of silver magic. She screams in anguish as the magic of the Silver Eyes burns her. Casting a spell out of pure desperation.

As Summer stood up, rubbing her facing and blinking to clear her vision from the pressure previously on her face.
When her vision returned to normal, she saw a statue of a female is in front of them, body leaning back, arms lifted up as if to try and shield from the light.
They all just stood there in silence for a bit, admiring the statue.
…
…
…
"Did… did it work?" Jasmine asks timidly, not really believing what she was seeing.
"She got hit Point Blank, and caught completely off guard with a blast of silver eyes. Nothing grimm could have survived that even with the ability to wield magic." Medusa stated bluntly with a smile. She turns to Shiro who was looking at the statue with a more serious expression,
"There is something important about her that I am forgetting but—" he was interrupted as his girlfriend pulls him down by the front of his red jacket and kissed him.
"You think this is over? The wrath upon which you are about to face has only begun." The voice of Salem boomed rang out from the grimm land.
Each hunter got ready and went turned back to back, with Jasmine in the middle; to cover all directions, and protect the Summer Maiden.
"Fucking, Shit. I'll be honest, I doubted that it would be a permanent solution, but I was hoping that it would have at least worked for a few years or a few millennia." Medusa swore

AU: So, I am breaking this chapter into another two chapters as well… And after both chapters are finished I will go back to work on NIFF. No promises on post dates.
This world is better off than the canon world of RWBY, hence more that one silver eyed warrior, but there will not an abundance of them. Also, expect some more changes to the to the world, as well as some changes to the personalities of many of the Fate characters, they did do live in a more violent universe than their original.
Also, yes, I did more to Heroic Spirit Shirou Emyia that will be explained later down the line.
