"It's not fair."
"What do you mean Weiss?" Nora asked curiously before wolfing down a stack of pancakes.
"Silver! That barbarian has been a ball and chain around my ankle since the headmaster thought it was a good idea to assign her to my team! Have you ever heard the rumors about her?! Not only is it degrading, but it's also degrading our team's reputation! How will anyone treat us with respect if all they know is derogatory hearsay? It's degrading! And those kinds of rumors would ruin the reputation of this team!"
Weiss groans before continuing to eat her lunch. Besides her were team JNPR and WBRY barring Rose.
"We'll, why not get her to speak and open up? I'm sure she's willing to elaborate and help!"
"Oh yes, let me ask the girl who considers me her enemy to open up. I'm sure she'll be completely receptive and not view that as me trying to look for a way to gain an advantage Jaune!"
"It was just a suggestion…"
"Even if that worked, what exactly do we say to her anyway? It's not like she's been exactly forthcoming with her personal life. We know she's protective of her stuff, lost her arm, and is one of those fancy nobles from before the Great War." Yang pointed out before taking a bite of her hamburger. She does have a point, ever since her arrival Rose has essentially refused to discuss anything related to her.
She would help around with cleaning, assist Jaune whenever she gets the chance to snag him from Weiss and work with the headmaster and staff. At first glance she seems like a model student, she always does her work, is a quiet workhouse, and always maintains an air of grace. However, any attempt to seriously attempt to look into Silver's past has been met with stiff resistance from her.
"Well…why don't we fight her?"
Blake casually suggested while reading a book, everyone on look at her with shock…everyone except Weiss, who seems to grasp at Blake's plan.
"F-fight her?! Didn't you see what she did to the deathstalker?!"
"Yeah, I haven't seen her fight since initiation, but I'm sure that she'll take out everyone except Pyrrha. It takes serious strength to cleave through an elder deathstalker's shell with one arm, and deal with the pain of a shattered one."
"Actually…Blake's right."
"Huh?"
"We can simply do a training fight with her with the excuse that Jaune needs a training exercise after that embarrassing performance. We have a few hours before Doctor Oobleck's class so we can be a bit lenient with the time."
"Hey!"
"Nothing personal, but your performance against Cardin was so bad I'm sure that a literal child could beat you without trouble."
"Anyway, while Rose is distracted, someone-"
"I volunteer." Blacked raised her hand while still not looking away from her book.
"As I was saying…"
"Training~?"
"Yes, training. It's been a while since you swung that giant scythe around right Rose?"
"But…Forever Fall…work~..."
"Ah that can wait, you'll be helping out Jaune with his combat. He'll certainly appreciate the help, especially since Weiss offered to train him just before."
Yang watched as the gear turns in Rose's head at the mention of Weiss. Her face turned slightly serious as she looked toward yang.
"I go~."
"Glad to hear! I'll let everyone know that you're coming along. Do be quick though, wouldn't want Weiss to get ahead of you!"
Yang saw Silver quickly run down the hall and out of sight, she gave a wry smile before pulling out her scroll. She pressed a few buttons before initiating a group call while she starts walking to the training hall.
"Silver's coming! All I have to do is just pull the Weiss card and that instantly got her on board."
"You sure it has to be me? Why do I have to be the bait for this?" Jaune whined on the scroll.
"Ice Queen demands a sacrifice for the red demon Jaune. It's just a coincidence that "lanky, weak, and blond" just so happened to fit the sacrificial requirements."
"Don't worry Jaune! I'll be there to wrangle your soul from her, I just so happened to be an expert on demonology!"
"She's lying, she just bought a new shooter game and hasn't stopped playing since."
"Oh yeah when are you going to let me play? You've been teasing me about it ever since you bought it and yet you keep repeating "The game is only for those who are worthy!"?"
Yang gave a small smile as she hears the back and forth between Nora and Jaune, it's a shame that they really don't have that energy in her team but, hopefully, they can pry open Silver's secrets. They could start resembling less of a team and more of friends once Silver starts opening up. The rivalry between Weiss and her is still enjoyable though.
"I've managed to get this open-air arena reserved for us, so hopefully we don't have anyone nosy enough to try and follow us."
"Thank you, Weiss," Pyrrha said before turning to Jaune. "Are you ready Jaune? I can take your place if you want-."
"No, no. It's fine, I have to learn how to properly fight anyway. Might as well start now."
The doors behind them open, and Jaune turns around to see Rose in her normal outfit. She winces for a bit before pulling the hood on her head. He always wonder why she had an aberration towards the light, it's been like that ever since she got here to Beacon. The two walk together to either side of the arena, and Weiss walks toward the middle.
"The rules are simple! The first person to have their aura hit the red loses. Your aura will be gaged on these screens up above, you will use these to determine your strategy in this fight."
Strangely, Jaune only sees his aura show up. Silver's screen only has a "not available" on it.
"Uhhh, Silver?"
"Hmm~?"
"Your aura…"
"Au…ra~?"
"Yes…your aura…"
There was an awkward period of silence in the arena as Jaune sees that Rose is… genuinely confused about Aura. Like Jaune was when Pyrrha asked him about it.
"Silver…do you have an Aura?" Jaune asked curiously, to which Silver froze at the question.
"How are you even carrying the scythe?"
"I'm sure the aura detection is working properly, how did you even manage to survive initiation?!"
"Lifeforce!"
Silver suddenly shouted, and there is a slightly panicked expression on her face. She's suddenly speaking much more clearly, though there is still a heavy accent. Everyone looked at her confused.
"Lifeforce?" Weiss asked with a slightly dismissive tone. Silver only nodded yes to her.
"My kingdom…warriors follow lifeforce…its guidance helps enhance them against the da…the Grimm. It merely heals and…enhances. I…was lucky to be chosen for it~."
Silver takes out Crescent Rose and slams it to the ground. Her breathing sounds hoarse.
"Enough talk~! Fight…or flee…Jaune~."
"...I'll fight."
"Jaune!"
"Relax guys, if I'm going to get my butt kicked, at least I'm getting it from someone I know and not Cardin. Besides, I doubt I can do anything but scratch her."
"Alright then…Let the match…Begin!"
Jaune sees Silver do a fearsome stance, before shifting her weapon to a katana form. Her entire feeling just changed in a blink of an eye, from a quiet unknown noble girl to a fearsome warrior that sees Jaune as nothing more than an obstacle.
"Kick her ass Jaune!" Nora cheered from the sidelines. This gave Jaune the confidence he needed to begin attacking Rose.
Jaune let out a war cry as he charges Silver. The katana instantly parried his sword swipe, however, Silver doesn't press on. Instead, she circles around him, walking very slowly, as if she was eying him like a beowolf. Jaune swings again and she parries again, the force of the parry causes Jaune to lose his balance. Yet again, she does not attack.
For the next 30 seconds the two would follow this pattern, Jaune would attack, and have his attacks deflected without issue, causing him to lose his balance and open for attack. Occasionally she would fake an attack, causing Jaune to raise his shield and brace for nothing. Until finally when Rose deflected yet another attack, she dropped Crescent Rose.
From Jaune's perspective, he would swear he would have seen a red mistrali letter pop up above Rose's head before she backhands Jaune, grabs him, and delivers an extremely powerful punch to his gut. Everyone saw Jaune's healthy aura bar suddenly drop to the near yellow within a few seconds.
Jaune collapse to the floor in pain, his arms covering his gut as he lets out a long, pained groan.
"Thy form was comparable to freshly birthed Darkborn. Thou swing too wide, have bad posture, and hesitate too much…So this is what Sam feels whenever he beats me in training."
Rose helps Jaune up, which didn't help as Jaune was still reeling from the effects of having a borbatusk charge focused directly into his stomach. Pyrrha ran to assist Jaune and the two of them walked to sit down and rest. Rose notices that Blake was missing, but brushes that aside. She didn't feel like she learned anything due to beating someone that was on her skill level when she started training. She also notices the reactions of the group. The orange hair, Nora if she remembered right, was staring in amazement, the Snowflake however stared in horror. The quiet one maintained a subdued poker face but was staring at her. Pyrrha was staring at her, a spark in her eye can be seen.
"So…Who next?"
"Damn, wasn't turning Jaune to pulp enough for you?" Yang asks Rose, to which she pondered a bit.
"Jaune…untrained…wouldst thou-"
"I'll go." Pyrrha said with a hint of anger in her voice.
"Art tho-"
"Yes. Take your position, Rose."
The two women took their positions and stand ready to fight each other. Instead of an announcer, there was a glowing number counting down in the middle of the field. The two warriors, the gladiator, and the princess stared down at each other until a buzzer sounded.
Pyrrha went immediately on the offensive. Throwing her shield at Rose to disorientate her and to close the gap between them. Rose blocked the shield and it went spinning in the air, she narrowly dodged a spear trust from Pyrrha as she swung her katana. Pyrrha's shield crashed into the ground and she quickly kicked it toward Rose, who blocked it. However, Pyrrha caught it mid-air and dive-kicked toward Rose, delivering a hard kick to her gut. Rose however was not particularly affected by this, but Pyrrha could see a tinge of pain on her face.
Rose retaliates with a swift kick, knocking Pyrrha back and allowing her to gain much breathing room. The two slowly walked in circles around each other, just staring at each other in a tense showdown before Rose moves to attack. Rose quickly closes the gap between her and Pyrrha, before Rose jumps and does a whirlwind slash against Pyrrha. Pyrrha not only blocked the first slash but she parried the second, causing the masquerading princess to lose her balance in the air and receive a much harder kick.
Pyrrha breathes heavily while she watched Rose slowly gets up. She was taught extremely well, and although she was winning Rose was displaying a level of skill within her blocking. She gave a smile to her opponent. Pyrrha realized something. Something that crushed the smile she had.
She's staring at the sky, her eyes are dilating and her arm is starting to twitch, she dropped her weapon and started taking deep breaths.
"Oh no…"
"What is this feeling?"
"I…I know this feeling before. I experienced it with Sam, but with him. It was always subdued, locked in the shackles of training. But…with you." She looks towards Pyrrha. Pyrrha sees that Rose's eyes appear to be glowing. "I feel so…so energetic! As if my body was in shackles, bounded by some unseen jailor now freed. I FEEL SO ALIVE!"
"Nikos~..." A crazed grin appeared on her face. The face of someone high on battle adrenaline.
"For…thy insolence against royalty~!" Pyrrha prepares herself. She'd seen these cases before, warriors who only trained and never tasted the experience of combat would often get "battle high" as her mother puts it. They were often the most dangerous to fight, as they would be fighting without restraint. And in the faintest of moments, at a speed, only someone who had adrenaline coursing through their body would notice. The sclera of Rose turned inky black.
"I SHALL TAKE THY HEAD!"
"What?!" Everyone shouted as Rose rushed toward Pyrrha, her katana shifting to the scythe. Pyrrha ducks the scythe blade as it slams into the ground, she shits Mílo into sword form and slashes Rose.
The battle-crazed princess didn't even register the attack as she easily got the scythe unstuck and began using it against Pyrrha. Pyrrha didn't expect her to use the scythe form, from what Weiss spoke and from initiation, she only used it against Grimm, and she's terrifying. Blocking her sword swipes, Pyrrha slowly moves back from the spinning wave of death that was Rose. Weiss did say that there's a gun barrel at the end of her scythe, so there's another potential danger she has to worry about.
Pyrrha brought Akoúo up just in time to block a powerful scythe slash from Rose. She has to stop this before Rose hurts herself or anyone else!
Rose then suddenly backsteps and Pyrrha can hear the telltale sign of a gun being loaded. She brings up her shield to block a rather powerful shot from Rose, this caliber has more weight than it should. She shifts Akoúo to spear form and throws Akoúo at Rose, she blocks it but it was bait. Pyrrha thrusts towards Rose, but instead of blocking.
Rose slammed her foot down on Miló, nearly causing Pyrrha to lose her balance. She pulls her weapon back, before using Polarity and uses her shield as a missile, and aims it toward Rose's prosthetic arm.
The bronze shield slams through the arm, breaking it apart…as if that were part of its intended function. Who designs a prosthetic like that?!
Rose appears disorientated before switching her scythe back into a katana, a more determined look is on her face, but it then shifts to disorientation, and then she falls onto the floor.
The battle is now over, Pyrrha takes a deep breath before rushing to Rose's aid. She wasn't severely hurt, but her organic hand is rubbing her temple like mad and she was muttering something in her native tongue.
"Rose are you ok!"
"So…slow…hurt everywhere~..."
"I'm sorry, but you were battle high, I had to stop you!"
Pyrrha looked and see Weiss, Yang, Nora, and Red arriving with their weapons. However, seeing the knocked-out Rose beside Pyrrha calmed them down.
"Damn, was hoping to get a shot at her, though guess that's why they called you the Invincible Girl."
"Yang this is serious! Our team member just tried murdering PYRRHA NIKOS!"
"No!" Pyrrha shouted at Weiss.
"No!.. She was just battle high. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed her too far, I caused this so blame me!"
"Battle…High? Not something I'm familiar with." Ren asked while Nora walks over to Rose and pokes her.
"It's…rather it's an informal term used by my mother, in the tournament some of my opponents were highly trained but never experienced the rush of a proper battle, thus the experience overwhelms them and they get extremely aggressive. Combine that with Aura and the result is a battle-crazed fighter that is fighting without restraint. It's rather terrifying even for me, they even forget what is happening, only focusing on the battle itself."
"Guys I think she's passed out!" Nora shouted to the gang
"Ugh…and we got to carry her to Oobleck's class, as much as I would want to lock her away and throw away the key."
"Why not leave her at your dorm Weiss?" Jaune asked, nearly recovering from the attack Rose inflicted.
"Well despite my grievances, if she gets a failing grade, that affects ALL of us, and I will not let some barbarian drag me to the same level as her!"
"Like how you dragged me to the library when you saw her walking down the hall?" Jaune retorted, getting a snicker from Yang as a result.
"Speaking of which! I hope what Blake found was worth the effort."
Blake finally let out a sigh of relief when she hears the click of the lock. She spent the past few minutes after sneaking away from the battle to investigate Rose's stuff, and most of those minutes have been trying to pick this lock Rose had. The trunk itself was mostly a request from Rose, but the lock itself is different. It feels like bone and a completely different lock system than what Blake expected.
She lifts the container open and sees what Rose has.
Clothing, books, incense packs…Blake then looks at the ammo inside. She takes a dust bullet and inspects it.
The material it was made of was rather strange, instead of the familiar cold metal of a bullet casing, she felt bone. The entire casing was made from bone, which doesn't make sense since bone would fracture under the pressure of a dust bullet. Then something caught Blake's eye.
A purple-black glowing dust crystal was attracting some of the dust bullets to it. She moved her hand towards it and finds that it has its gravitational field. This was strange, Blake knows that naturally occurring gravity dust can lift chunks of rocks and form sky islands, but that requires a large amount of dust. This, however, has its gravity field and attracts smaller objects, not to mention the strange power emanating from it.
She then notes the other strange crystals. Red, green, deep blue, all with the same black markings as this gravity dust. She puts it back in the position it was and then notices a large knife.
It's a ceremonial knife from the looks of it, the blade is completely made out of rubies which mesh well with the boney white material. She decided to put it back, given Rose's origins she would have taken her religion must more seriously than the average person of Remnant, then she notices the group of books in the trunk. Bingo.
She takes out her scroll and starts inspecting the books. The first one she picked was…unintelligible, honestly, what did she expect. All she can read are the unknowable runes of whatever language she speaks and writes in, what transcends writing however was art. This book appears to be a guide, more specifically on survival judging by the pictures she's seeing.
She places the book back and grabs another. This one…is more horrific, The depictions are rather startling, as it depicts the person writhing in agony before their arm morphs into a blade. Some are depicting the person…spawning Grimm, others on movement or combat. She takes a picture of it and places it back, to her guess. Rose's home has some sort of shape-shifting spawning Grimm, then she notices it.
A singular, large book that stands out from the rest. Blake immediately takes it and inspects it. It's old but well-maintained, the material is high quality and there's little if not no wear and tear. Some writing and a sigil of a rose are on the cover. And there is a rather large amount of bookmarks.
"A diary…" She muttered to herself as she opened it.
There is an opening statement on the first page, but Blake quickly flipped past that. She opened a bookmark and sees diary entry upon diary entry with some small accompanying sketches. Not finding much, she then flips to another bookmark.
The bookmark revealed sketches…of an environment, now that got Blake's attention. The sketches are rather well made, indicating that Rose is a drawer. The scenery depicted however baffles Blake. In all the pictures except one, from a view high up from a building to gazing far ahead to a city down below, a night sky or moon is always present. Even one where she's drawing by a large waterfall is a night sky visible. The latest one is a rough, quickly-done sketch of a mountainscape. Blake would've chalked it up to Rose preferring the darkness, but that is countered by one drawing.
It is a first-person point of view of someone sitting on another's lap, they are in a lavish bedroom fit for a monarch. There is a strange clock with the hands pointing to 7:15 alongside a sun icon…the windows nearby display a moon and a night sky, extremely strange. Taking a picture of this, Blake then moves to another bookmark.
It's a character list, or that's what Blake thinks it is. The pages are journaled entries containing people that Rose presumably met and knows, containing a sketch of their face, full body, and then what Rose presumably thinks of them. Blake even has a page which surprised her. But not as much as the next few pages. There was a page of a man that looked nearly mechanical, another with black sclera and a calm, regal demeanor. Then…she drew a person…no a Faunus with fox ears and seven tails. She didn't have time to question it because of the last page she saw.
One page was entirely dedicated to the portrait, it depicted a regal young woman, her bangs covering her left eye. She too has black sclera and drawn strange lines reminiscent of veins on her face. She is a leader, no not a leader. The circlet confirms her suspicions, she's a monarch, the second of her line judging by the numeral at the bottom of the page. The next page has a single quoted word at the top, but before Blake could guess the meaning, her scroll rang out.
Panicking, she took as many pictures as she can before placing everything back the way it was, including the lock. She then took a deep breath and walked out of the dorm and towards Oobleck's class.
"Prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution, though more popularly referred to as the Faunus War, humankind was quite, quite adamant with its goals of centralizing the Faunus to the large island of Menagerie!"
Oobleck pointed to the large island in the southeast corner of the map. It was now history class and despite her best efforts Ruby is still reeling from the effects of "battle high". She had Nora reattach the pieces of her arm, the aetheric moonstone proving its power once again. At least Nikos said that it would pass by the end of the day, which doesn't change the constant feeling of drowsiness and perceived slowness. It was rather fascinating to see how Doctor Oobleck moves in slow motion though, and she's understanding more and more of the teacher. She decided to sit next to Pyrrha and Nora this time instead of her team.
"Now! While this may seem like ancient history to you, in the grand scheme of history this is relatively recent! Why the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!" He takes a sip from his container. "Now! Have any of you been subjected to discrimination due to your Faunus heritage?"
Faunus…that the term the lightborn use regarding their mutant kind. And then there's that word. Discrimination, the mutants weren't enslaved like she was taught to believe, but instead, they're being discriminated against. A disgusted face appeared on her face as she watched the bunny girl she occasionally see in the workshop hall and another person raised their hand.
"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember stu-"
A wave of drowsiness hits Ruby and she lets her head hit the table. The only thing preventing the warm embrace of sleep was Nora poking her in the side. She lazily tried swatting Nora's hand away to no avail. Then she hears something that was tantamount to an insult against her,
"...easier to train an animal to a soldier."
Ruby's instincts overwhelmed the tiredness, as she shot up, she sees him.
Cardin Winchester, one of the people harassing her and Jaune in this school. Like many he has resorted to spreading rumors around the premise, rumors she does not mind as they are based on lies, like most court gossip. But he and his posse had been getting bolder with their antics around her. And now this knave dares commit a cardinal crime against Yggdrasil in front of the Dusk Princess of all people?!
Before she stood up, she watched Cardin get angry at someone, looking to where he was looking, Ruby sees Blake…the mutant lightborn with a self-served smile on her face.
"Mister Winchester! Please take your seat! You and Mr. Arc can both see me after class for additional readings!"
A smug smile appeared on Ruby's lips, and Cardin looked toward her, getting even angrier at the sight of her.
"Now, remember that in the next few classes we will begin our discussion on the Sauni religion, and the infamous topic of Ragnorok and the Goddess of Destruction!"
Rose was busy organizing her trunk at the end of the day, but something was bugging her. Did she misplace how the survival guides and tomes were organized? She didn't recall Wilderness Survival and Grimmomatic Factors being so close to each other. The singularity dust has to be trimmed off objects again.
Maybe it was her mind playing tricks on her. She sighed before closing the trunk and locking it and resting on her bed. Her team hasn't come back yet, Blake especially given she liked to read with the candlelight at this hour. Then, a knock on the door. Ruby gets up and opens to see Pyrrha.
"Oh…what brings…thee~?"
"How are you feeling?"
"Oh, good…" Ruby looks away in shame.
"You know you don't have to do that, it was my fault for pushing you so far."
"Nay…tis my fault~."
"How about we go for a walk, will that clear your mind? The moon is full right now."
Ruby ponders for a moment, before nodding and leaving her dorm. The two walked for a moment before Pyrrha broke the silence.
"So, you were exceptionally well trained for a princess. I wonder who taught you?"
"Oh? Mmm, twas a swordsman…only child…only heir…~"
"I see, were they nice? I know trainers can be particularly hard on the trainees."
"Oh! Most definitely…annoying…wisecrack…friend. Close one~. What about thou~?"
"Oh, I'm just a tournament fighter."
"Thoust a dualist~?" She spoke with a tone of surprise.
"Yeah, I'm surprised you never noticed until now."
Ruby cleared her throat and takes a deep breath.
"I've learned to tune out gossip, the courts are filled with them. Besides, thou did not bear any visible scars~."
"Scars…Right, you don't have Aura, or at least aura in the typical sense."
"Lifeforce enhances…not shields~."
"Would that be the reason why you lost your arm?"
Ruby paused before her face went solemn.
"Nay…early born disease. Amputation was the cure. Fortunate, both for health and status~." She flexes her prosthetic arm. "Lifeforce heals but has limits~. Industries…progress form to match limitations~. This prosthetic is one form of progress~. Arm separates, strong material, easy to clean, easy to maintain. Dost thou have prosthetics~?"
"No, and even if I did have one, it would most likely be one from Atlas."
"Atlas~?"
"The city of progress" as some call it, it's far in the north. Floating high in the sky, I've been there once. It's a view you don't forget."
"I am familiar with unforgettable views~." She gave out a nostalgic smile before she frowns.
"Turn right to next hall. Person, unknown, hiding far ahead." Ruby spoke in a hushed tone.
"Wh-what? Why would someone just hide?"
"I tune out gossip but does not mean I can't listen. Most likely a stalker, or hooligan. "Ozpin's special toy"...Jealously is powerful tool."
The two turned right the second they got the opportunity, Pyrrha can hear an angry sigh being let out before footsteps ran away.
"You have pretty good eyesight."
"Necessary~."
"Right, this whole place is one big culture shock to you. Modern lighting would be nonexistent in your kingdom."
The two enter a large plaza with a large fountain in the middle. The moon is shining brightly on this night.
"Ah~!"
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing…just memories~."
"Rose…I know this sounds strange…but can you speak to me in your native language? Just this once."
"...Why wouldst thou want to listen to a language you can't understand?"
Instead of being confused, Pyrrha smiled at her.
"Has anyone ever told you, that your language is beautiful?"
"Eh~?!"
"Well…"
Pyrrha sat down by the water fountain, Ruby does the same. The moon is serving as a backdrop for her.
"Gibberish, unintelligible nonsense, Rose speak. I've heard all the derogatory words about your language, yet out of all the languages I've heard. From Mistrali to Vacuan, yours is the most beautiful and…dare I say ancient I heard. It sounds like the voice of the gods or at least a poet's language. I would love to know how to speak it myself."
"I…well…I-i…Thank you~. I've never been praised by…ever since I got here~."
"What about the staff? Professor Ozpin?"
"I know the difference between work praise…and heartfelt praise~."
"Oh. Well, I'm glad to have made you feel better."
"And I apologize to thee…for my transgressions~. I made a promise…not to murder…and I nearly broke it…and nearly-."
"You don't have to apologize. Not many people would understand what you went through."
Ruby smiled. For once since she left her home, she gave a true, heartfelt smile.
"You know. I wondered what you were doing with that whirlwind slash?"
"Oh, twas a simple combat art~. Lifeforce forces~…warriors to focus more~. I know some, I could become a teacher to thee and Jaune~."
"So you can get a leg up against Weiss?"
"...I didn't consider Weiss in the offer~. Though I know a combat art that can turn her into her emblem~."
The two girls giggled for a bit before Pyrrha stands up.
"Thou leaving already~?"
"I have to get up early tomorrow. Sorry."
"Then in that case~. Wouldst thou like to…know a piece of my kingdom~?"
"Oh? Sure!"
"My kingdom…it is old~. It has fought against the darkness…and the light for uncountable days~. Despite this, our people have a motto for our resilience from our darkest hour~. It's one of many, but…it is simple~."
"Aeterna Invicta…" Unconquerable Eternity~."
"That's beautiful. The motto of an undefeated people sounds similar to my tournament nickname though. I should go now, I shouldn't take any more of your time."
"It is ok~. Before you go though~."
Ruby stands up, with the moon behind her, and with her silver eyes. She almost looks ethereal.
"May the moon illuminate the path ahead of you, as you walk down the path of a bright future."
