Back at the Owl House, Lilith was still reading through The Good Witch Azura, Eda was still thinking of plans to rescue their once again former lover while Yunan was busy listening to the hand that kept tapping.
"Okay, and how do you spell that?" Yunan asked the hand, whom looked annoyed with the question.
"Edalyn, why aren't you interested with the book?" Lilith asked. "This book is very unputdownable."
"Is that even a word?" Eda asked.
"Surprisingly, it is a word." Lilith replied.
"I might have failed my literature studies, and even I know that's a word." Yunan said.
"Quit being smarter than me!" Eda demanded as she flicked through the books. "I need to build this portal ASAP!"
"Edalyn, Luz is busy defending Amphibia and controlling her powers." Lilith pointed out. "She can't do three things at the same time."
"I know Lilith!" Eda yelled. "Because, I need a portal door built and that's it! A portal door to Amphibia! Once we build it, maybe we can help out a bit to speed up the process, we get to Earth to find King and we can have all the Clawthorne adventures we want. Heck, maybe a beach day."
"I still find you suggesting I'd get a bikini insulting!" Yunan yelled.
"We don't have nudist beaches Yunan." Eda said. "Plus, I don't think anybody would want to see what's under the armour!"
Yunan laughed. "They're all cowards."
"Honestly Edalyn, you should read it!" Lilith laughed. "This is so magical. I can't believe how good this is for a kids book."
"Lilith, you keep yammering on about that kids book written by some human with no talent than I'm gonna trick Hooty to eat you!" Eda yelled threateningly.
"Jokes on you Edalyn, I know what you all smell like." Hooty turned his head sinisterly. "Hoot!"
"Hooty that's creepy." Lilith said. "Also Edalyn, you are wrong."
"It's an opinion, not a fact." Eda retorted.
"No, about the author." Lilith responded. "Mildred Featherwhyle is from the Demon Realm."
Eda raised an eyebrow. "No, she's from the Human Realm."
"Well, Amity brung her book for our training sessions all the time and when I looked at the back of the book cover, the picture of the 'human' had rather pointy ears." Lilith said.
"Uh…..Look at the back of Luz's book."
Lilith listened to Eda's suggestion and looked at the back of the book where she saw that the picture of Mildred Featherwhyle was human. She gasped and placed the book down on the floor where she took off her reading hand and replaced it with her readjusting glasses hand. She readjusted her glasses to see if they were put on correctly and gasped even louder.
"Edalyn! Do you have any idea what this means?!" Lilith asked.
Eda at that point, was getting rather excited with what her sister could be thinking. "The author of The Good Witch Azura can travel between worlds!"
Eda and Lilith smiled happily as they grabbed each other by their shoulders and began jumping up and down. "We might have found a way! We found a way! We found a way!" The two than began to do a dance while singing. "We found a way! We found a way! We found a way! We found a way!"
Yunan laughed before clapping and singing. "You found a way! You found a way! You found a way!"
Hooty then began to join in on the dance and singing. "I am Hooty! I am Hooty! I am Hooty! I am Hooty!"
While the hand only suffered from how annoying the dance and song were that they began running into the jar to either free themselves or knock themselves unconscious.
They soon stopped what they were doing and the Clawthorne sisters hugged it out. "Edalyn, this is incredible! I can't believe it!"
"I know! We might have a chance!" Eda then sighed. "Uh, Mildred could be anywhere! She could be either in the Human Realm or the Demon Realm right now."
"Maybe I could get some help from Steve." Lilith said. "None of the Coven Scouts know but he is a fan of the book."
Then, a crow phone flew to the window and squawked. "Hey Lilith, it's Steve! I know I'm not supposed to talk to you on account of being a fugitive to the Emperor, but could you do me a favour. The author of The Good Witch Azura is having a signing at The Book Nook this afternoon." Eda and Lilith gave a glance at each other and smiled. "Oh Lilith, if you're not doing anything right now, could you me get an autograph from her for me? I'm too busy today. Something about forcing some students to be a part of the Emperor's Coven. Hope it doesn't involve you because I could lose my job. Anyway, have fun today." The bird flew away while Eda and Lilith were happy.
"Edalyn, let's go!" Lilith exclaimed.
"Right behind ya!" Eda said. "It's a Clawthorne sister team-up!"
"Oh, and I assume I'm supposed to stay here?" Yunan asked.
Lilith and Eda gave Yunan a stare. "Well, yeah. You know morse code. So start translating!" Eda and Lilith began running towards Bonesborough to find the author.
Yunan stared at the hand and shrugged her shoulders. "Might as well continue." Yunan then started tapping the glass to annoy it. "Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk!"
Meanwhile in Bonesborough, the Clawthorne sisters were just walking through the town on their way to the Book Knook.
"May I ask why are we walking?" Lilith asked.
Eda froze. "Ah shoot! I left Owlbert with Grime!"
"And I left Jasper at the Owl House." Lilith groaned.
"Plus, we can into hot Harpies." Eda pointed out. "Uh, well, I guess we can get this calves working. Plus, we get to spend some time as sisters."
"Huh?"
"Lily, we haven't had any kind of sisterly interaction since you were brainwashed into the Coven." Eda pointed out. "And all those moments together were just stupid ploys to get me into a Coven or fighting the jerks."
Lilith began to ponder. "I guess you're right. I guess this walk to our adventure could give us some bonding experience. Maybe we can talk theories on who Mildred Featherwhyle actually is!"
"Intriguing." Eda remarked. "Do you have one?"
"Well, I believe Mildred could be Luz and Amity's future daughter whose name is Azura!"
"What?!"
"I mean, look at the cover!" Lilith pulled out the book and pointed to Azura. "She looks exactly like Luz! I mean, what if Mildred, whose real name happened to be Azura, got stuck in the past and wrote the book series to ensure that Luz and Amity get together so she can be born."
"If Mildred is Luz and Amity's daughter, then why doesn't she look like them in the back?" Eda pointed out.
"Well, she didn't want her mothers questioning so she got a ghost actor." Lilith replied. "Similar to a ghost writer but only without the writing. It makes a whole lot of sense, Edalyn."
"Lilith, that sounds overly complicated, completely illogical and complete with a lot of plot holes." Eda pointed out.
"Well, do you have anything better?" Lilith asked.
"Lilith, I believe that Mildred could possibly one of Belos' escaped basilisks and is writing stories as a means to make a living." Eda theorised.
"Edalyn, they have gotta be important in someway!" Lilith said.
"I doubt they're that important." Eda said. "But we'll ask her when we see….her." They froze when they saw that the signing of the Good Witch Azura had been cancelled at the Book Nook.
"What?!" The two of them exclaimed.
"Cancelled?!" Lilith exclaimed.
Eda then dropped down to her knees and began crying. "Oh come on!" She then approached the window. "Cancelled eh?! Well, your window is cancelled!" Eda picked up a trash can and was about to smash the window.
Lilith then stopped her. "Edalyn, the window has done nothing." She sighed. "How about we just sit down and you can make fun of my crap theories which are possibly right."
Eda glanced at the trash can before sighing and placing it down. "Okay sure, sounds fun."
She and Lilith sat down outside the Book Nook and Lilith began to ponder who Mildred Featherwhyle could be.
"Okay, what if the entire book is actually based on Luz's adventures here?" Lilith asked. "I mean, look at the cover. I mean, Azura looks like Luz, this saggy old lady looks like you and this cute animal sidekick looks like King!"
"Lilith, I think this is just a coincidence." Eda said.
"I mean, it seems likely." Lilith said. "Every moment felt very similar to Luz's time here. Especially, Azura's relationship with Hecate which is rather similar to her relationship with Amity. Come on Edalyn, you can't deny the difference!"
"Lilith, when you was 6 you thought Jack and the Spleenstalk was essentially a retelling of your life." Eda retorted.
"I mean, it was similar!" Lilith argued.
"Well, I think the Mildred is possibly…." Eda chuckled. "….You're gonna get a kick out of this. What if Mildred is actually Kikimora, trying to express herself through fiction?"
"That would make sense." Lilith said. "But, the book series is more feel good till it rudely gets all dark and traumatising and Kikimora is always depressed underneath that obnoxiously bossy façade."
"I wish we could find this author." Eda said. "Do you know anywhere else that sold those books?"
"According to Steve, this was where they sold them." Lilith said. "The only place."
Eda groaned sadly. "Oh this is hopeless! How can I ever see my son again?!" She began sobbing into her knees before Lilith began to pat her on the back.
Then, they heard the sound of some trash cans being knocked over. They looked up and saw a small person with a black cloak and red hair walking away.
"Wait, is that her?" Lilith asked.
"Hang on. Mildred!" She looked back towards the Clawthornes and began to ran away.
"Hey, wait up!" Lilith yelled out towards her as she and Eda stood up and began to chase her.
"Wait, we just want to talk!" Eda yelled.
"Why is she trying to avoid us?"
"Well, judging by the height, it could be Kikimora." Eda theorised.
"Nah, Kikimora is an inch taller." Lilith said.
"Uh, she better be leading us somewhere private to chat." Eda said.
Then, about 55 minutes later, it was dark as they were not chasing Mildred down a beach. Mildred used some of her magic to raise a rocky pillar that tried to block their path, but Eda and Lilith quickly turned into Harpy mode and flew over it.
"Mildred!" Eda yelled as she began to fly over her.
Mildred squeaked before using magic to try and shoot the sisters down, which they both avoided by doing a barrel roll.
"Maybe she's actually Luz's real mother who used The Good Witch Azura as a means to connect with her daughter." Lilith said.
"Maybe Mildred is a human/witch hybrid who is torn with staying in the Human Realm and the Demon Realm." Eda theorised.
Then, the hooded figure comes to a dead end and tries to climb up a wall but unfortunately, this caused her to fall off her standing sticks and for the cloak to fall to reveal that it's actually Tinella Nosa.
"Aww, wats!" Tinella exclaimed.
The Clawthorne sisters landed on their feets, turned back into their regular forms and gasped. "Tinella Nosa!" Eda exclaimed.
"You're the author?!" Lilith exclaimed. "Care to explain how you can travel in-between realms?"
Tinella sighed. "Follow me."
Later, Tinella leads the Clawthorne sisters into a cave and sighs. "Sorry, boss. The jig is up."
Sitting on a throne of books, her boss turned out to be none other than Eda's arch nemesis, Tibbles the little pig demon. "Tibbles!" Eda exclaimed.
"Owl Lady?!" Tibbles exclaimed.
Mattholomue walks in with a pile of books. "Edited a few more of those author photos, boss. Some of my finest work." He then drops them and gasps. "Lilith?!"
"Mattholomue?!" Lilith exclaimed.
"You know this twerp?" Eda asked.
"He's Steve's brother."
"Half brother!" Mattholomue yelled.
"So wait, what is this?!" Eda asked. "Tibbles, you better have a good answer for this."
"Oh, calm down. Human garbage is constantly leaking into our water." Tibbles said as he jumped off his throne. "And about a year ago I found this box of books washed up on the shore. I've been trying to make a snail off it ever since. But no one's buying!" He kicked the books.
"Wait. I'm still getting paid for this, right?" Mattholomue asked.
"Not now kid." Tibbles shoos him away. "According to the owner of the Book Nook, he's only ever had one customer purchase from this series."
"One?!" Eda asked. "But, Steve and Boots."
"I gave them to my brother!" Mattholomue interjected. "He is my brother after all and I have to love him."
"Didn't I shoo you away?!" Tibbles asked angrily.
Matt groaned before walking away. Lilith narrowed her eyes at Mattholomue. "And you better show some respect to your brother!"
"This is the worst scam I've ever ran!" Tibbles exclaimed.
Eda sighed sadly. "So, the author is human and can't travel between realms."
"Oh, were you expecting some big twist?" Tibbles chuckled.
The Clawthorne sisters narrowed their eyes at Tibbles before giving each other knowing glances.
Then, the Clawthorne sisters, now in their harpy forms were holding Tibbles by each of his legs in the air since they were threatening to drop him.
"Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Let me go!" Tibbles pleaded.
"What do you think Lily?" Eda asked. "He is asking to be let go."
"Are you sure Tibbles?" Lilith asked. "Your brain and skull will be over the beach."
Tibbles cried. "Please! I'll stop scamming people! Just let me go!"
"Edalyn, I am kind of hungry." Lilith said. "I heard that bird beasts do like mischievous little pug demons."
"What?!"
"Oh yeah." Eda smiled. "So do I."
Tibbles screamed in horror as he began to close his eyes to hide the pain.
Later at the Owl House, Grime, now wrapped in a towel after having a shower, was sitting on the couch, having heard the story they have told.
"So, did you eat the pig?" Grime asked.
"And did you intend to?" Yunan asked.
"Don't worry, we weren't gonna eat him." Eda assured them.
"And we didn't eat him." Lilith replied.
"We were just gonna drop him back down." Eda replied.
Then, Willow, Gus, Edric and Emira walked into the house and Willow instantly ran up to Grime. "Grime!"
"Hey Willow." Grime said. "How's it going?"
"We got back safe." Willow replied.
"Did you do it?" Gus asked. "Did you kill Darius?"
"I gave him one heck of a concussion." Grime replied.
"How bad?" Edric asked.
"Bloody eye." Grime's response made Edric grin.
"Cool."
"Hey Grime, you know, during your Flyer Derby adventure, did Viney by any chance say anything about me?" Emira looked away as she blushed. "Not that I have a crush on her."
"Not that I'm aware of." Grime gave Emira a wink, which only made Emira blush even more.
"She likes me?" Emira whispered to herself happily.
"So, now we're going to find an alternative way to Amphibia?" Grime asked Eda while Yunan began to read what Granem had messaged her.
"I suppose so." Eda said sadly.
Lilith noticed her sister looking down and patted her back. "Don't worry Edalyn, we're going to find them. You'll be reunited with King and Luz in no time." Eda smiled at her sister, feeling touched by her words.
Yunan coughed to get Eda's attention as she pulled out the message she decoded. "Eda, I need to read this."
"What does Granem have to say this time?" Eda asked.
Yunan sighed. "You're not going to like it. 'So, Luz now has control of her powers which could also destroy the multiverse if at top power. Tomorrow, I shall be out of Pacifica's belly and be in control of Hunter's mind as well. Ha ha ha ha ha ha' It's just laughs there. 'And about your son, King. He isn't on Earth anymore. He is on Amphibia. But where in Amphibia you might ask? Inside Andrias' palace having his blood extracted.' Yunan froze and stared at Eda, whom was horrified.
"King?! No! Why does Andrias want his blood?!" Eda exclaimed. "No! No! It can't be! My son is being tortured! Why does Andrias want him?!"
Yunan coughed. "It says, 'He isn't just any baby demon, he is a baby Titan, the last one.'
Everyone in the Owl House was shocked by this revelation and all began to stare at each other with fear and worry and shock.
"King, was a Titan?!" Gus exclaimed.
"Eda was raising a god in her house all this time?!" Edric exclaimed.
"And I was the aunt of a god?!" Lilith exclaimed.
Eda on the other hand was panicking as tears began to fall. "No! No! My son, is being tortured! My son! King!" Eda dropped to her knees and clenched her fists angrily as more and more tears fell from her eyes. "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU ANDRIAS! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" She then marched aggressively towards the hand and began to shook it. "You tell Luz she better kill Andrias for me! You better! You better! Tell her to kill him!" Eda sprouted some angry feathers as more and more tears began to fall from her eyes, scared and worried for what fate awaits her son. The prince of the Boiling Isles.
