Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 6 of Familiar Taste of Poison. I have to thank everyone who has kept up with this story and has left reviews. It does mean a lot to me that you are all enjoying this. I'm trying my best with trying to write each chapter out and make it long enough for everyone to enjoy it. But sometimes writing is hard when it comes to stories. Especially if stories are set during seasons and each season has a certain amount of episodes. I am going to try my best to make this a longer story by adding some new things. This chapter is taking place during Episode 5 at the very beginning of the episode with Will coming in to talk to Hannibal about what had happened to him the night prior. Hopefully, I'm able to do justice with writing this way. Without further ado Chapter 6. ENJOY!
Chapter 6
Violeta sat across from Hannibal a few days later, her forest-green eyes locking with his hazel ones. "You want me to stay the night in your home?" She questioned softly trying to make sure that what she was hearing was correct.
Hannibal smiled a small smile knowing that she was trying her best to take it in. "Yes, I would like you to stay the night at my home."
Violeta's cheeks flushed wondering why he would want her there.
"I am not going to force you, Violeta. I want you to be comfortable with this."
Violeta swallowed the lump in her throat knowing that she needed to answer Hannibal. "I can stay if you want me to." She said softly knowing that this probably was the smartest idea that she could do at that moment.
"I promise we won't do anything that you're not comfortable with."
Violeta looked up at him and shyly nodded her head.
"I'll see you tonight then?"
Violeta offered him a small smile and nodded her head. "Yes, I'll see you tonight." She got up to her feet slowly stretching her back out a little bit to keep her body a little bit more limber knowing that her practice was that evening before she showed up at Hannibal's home. "I'll stop by my home to get some clothes for the evening and then stop by your home."
Hannibal nodded his head softly. "I'll be waiting."
HANNIBAL
Violeta stood in Hannibal's bathroom dressed in her purple silk nightgown and her black robe over the top to keep it covered up so she didn't seem like a harlot to him. She didn't want him to think of her like that. She was thankful that Hannibal allowed her to change in the bathroom so she wouldn't be uncomfortable. She took a breath through her nose and slowly came out of the bathroom.
Hannibal was already in bed reading an article on Freddie's website. "Seems like Miss Lounds is falling behind." He mused softly as she walked towards the bed.
"Oh?" Violeta questioned her brows furrowed slightly.
"Yes, she was a bit behind in writing an article about our female killer that is running rampant in our city and surrounding cities."
Violeta let out a soft hum.
Hannibal looked up at her. "Are you going to join me, mano meilė?"
Violeta took a breath through her nose and carefully removed the black robe that she wore hanging it up on the door with his. She nibbled her lower lip softly as she turned to see Hannibal looking right at her.
"My my mano meilė. You look delectable in that."
Violeta's cheeks flushed crimson as looked at Hannibal as she slowly walked towards the bed. "It's not too much?"
"No of course not, mano meilė." Hannibal mused softly as she joined him in bed.
Violeta covered her body with the blanket as she tried to calm her slightly racing heart. "So tell me what Miss Lounds wrote about the Full Moon Widow."
Hannibal's lips quirked knowing that it piqued her interest. He knew that she loved hearing about this female serial killer. "Seems like our Widow killed in Carney."
Violeta turned on her side, moving closer to Hannibal. "Who did she murder this time?"
"A man by the name of Peter Hanson."
Violeta let out a soft hum. "Does it give a reason for why she might have killed Mr. Hanson?"
"From what Miss Lounds thinks, she thinks that Mr. Hanson was a serial dater and he must've cheated on the Widow."
"Hm… sounds like something that would spur murder from the Widow."
"She didn't leave any clues or evidence of who she is of course."
"She's a smart murderer then," Violeta said softly as Hannibal turned his tablet off.
"Yes, it would seem so," Hannibal said as he put his tablet onto the nightstand next to his bed. He offered her a small smile. "Are you comfortable, mano meilė?"
"Hannibal?"
"Hm?"
Violeta looked into his hazel eyes. "What does mano meilė mean?"
"It means my love."
"Oh." Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "It's like what I say in my native tongue. Iubirea mea."
"That's beautiful." He mused softly kissing the top of her head loving how she said my love in her language. He had to admit that it made his heart warm to know that she would speak little bits in her language.
Violeta felt his arm go around her pulling her close to him. She smiled softly as he held her close. She rested her head softly on his shoulder letting out a soft breath.
Hannibal kissed her forehead lightly and turned off the light on his stand.
"Thank you for inviting me tonight."
"I will always invite you," Hannibal said, stroking her bare arm softly.
"And I will always join you if you ask."
Hannibal smiled softly and continued to rub her arm softly enjoying the soft feeling of her flesh under his hand. He never thought that he would be at this point with Violeta. He could easily tell that she took very good care of her skin.
HANNIBAL
Hannibal's phone rang on the nightstand in the early hours of the morning.
Violeta groaned, shifting in the bed next to him sleepily.
Hannibal slowly sat up in bed and reached over to grab his phone. "Hello?" He straightened up in bed more as he heard the person on the other end of the phone. "Of course Will. I will see you shortly." He hung up his phone knowing that Violeta was slowly starting to wake up.
Violeta shifted slowly, starting to turn to sit up in his bed.
"You can go back to sleep, my love." He said softly as he slowly went to get out of bed.
"Is something wrong?" She questioned rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"A friend is having a little bit of trouble."
That caused Violeta to wake up more. She looked at Hannibal concerned. "Do you need me to go?" She asked softly.
"Oh, I wouldn't kick you out." He pointed out to her softly.
"I would think you would want some time to talk to him."
"Violeta, love, it's fine. You can stay and sleep some more."
Violeta let out a soft breath. "You don't want to introduce this friend to your girlfriend just yet… I understand."
"Violeta, I wouldn't mind introducing you to him." He said as he grabbed his robe, putting it over his night clothes.
Violeta got up to her feet slowly. "I would love to meet him if it wouldn't overwhelm him."
"I'm sure it won't. But I would have you put on your robe." Hannibal said, grabbing her robe coming over to her and slowly slipping it over her purple nightgown.
HANNIBAL
Hannibal used a vacuum coffee maker to make some coffee for Will. He looked over at the fully clothed, bright-eyed young man. "Although I may be, is it safe to assume you're not sleepwalking now?"
"I'm sorry it's so early. I woke you and your…" Will nervously looked over at the woman who sat in the room resting her head tiredly on her hand as if she was trying to not fall back asleep.
"Never apologize for coming to me. Office hours are for patients. My kitchen is always open to friends." Hannibal said, handing Will his coffee before going right back to making Violeta some coffee to make sure that she didn't fall asleep in his kitchen. "Onset of sleepwalking in adulthood is less common than in children."
"Could it be a seizure?" Will asked softly, looking over at Hannibal.
"I'd argue good old-fashioned post-traumatic stress. Jack Crawford has gotten your hands very dirty."
"Wasn't forced back into the field."
"I wouldn't say forced. Manipulated would be the word I'd choose." Hannibal said as he brought Violeta her coffee. "Here you go, Violeta."
Violeta let out a soft hum. "Thank you, Iubirea mea."
Hannibal's lips quirked softly.
"I can handle it," Will said softly as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Somewhere between denying horrible events and calling them out lies the truth of psychological trauma."
Will's brow raised as he looked at his friend. "So I can't handle it?"
"Your experience may have overwhelmed ordinary functions that give you a sense of control," Hannibal said as he made his coffee fairly easily as he had made the other two cups of coffee.
"If my body is walking around without my permission, you'd say that's a loss of control?"
"Wouldn't you? Sleepwalkers demonstrate difficulty handling aggression. Are you experiencing difficulty with aggressive feelings?"
Will's lips pursed together as he thought long and hard about what had been asked. "You said Jack sees me as fine china used for special guests. Beginning to feel more like an old mug."
"You entered into a Devil's Bargain with Jack Crawford. Takes a toll."
"Jack's not the devil."
"When it comes to how far he's willing to push you to get what he wants, Jack's certainly no saint."
Will took a breath. "I am sorry for rousing you and…"
"Oh… Will this is my girlfriend, Violeta Cel Tradat."
Will's eyes widened slightly. "The Prima Ballerina?"
Violeta looked up sleepily at Will. "None other." She said softly with a small smile on her lips. "It's nice to meet you, Will."
Will cleared his throat shyly. "I never thought that I would meet Baltimore's Prima Ballerina."
Violeta let out a soft chuckle.
"I apologize for waking you."
Violeta waved her hand softly. "It's fine Will, you need Hannibal's help. Hannibal loves to help everyone if he can."
Hannibal looked over at Violeta with a soft look on his face.
Will blinked a few times. He had never seen Hannibal like this before. He could tell that Hannibal was fairly happy with Violeta. He could tell that Hannibal was more at ease and seemed much more approachable than before. Perhaps Violeta was good for Hannibal. Perhaps he could be friends with Violeta. He wouldn't admit it, but he needed to get more friends in his life.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
This is the end of Chapter 6. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I tried my best to make the chapter as long as I could. I think I've done fairly well with doing that. We have Will meeting Violeta. I have to admit that I had a bit of fun writing the interaction between the two. Please leave a review and let me know what you think of this chapter and the interaction between Will and Violeta. Reviews do help me keep going when it comes to writing. I hopefully will update next week with the next chapter. Until next time.
