Beacon Academy, RWBY's room
April 2nd, 80 AGW/2866
Blake gulped. Here she was, back in her dorm room. The same one she ran away. Standing in front of her was her team and Sydney.
After tying up Torchwick and leaving him at the front entrance of the docks, Sydney suddenly grabbed Blake and carried her over his shoulder. Then he, JNPR, Ruby, and the Sun person snuck back to Beacon.
Despite not being able to see the faces of her teammates, she could sense that most of them were pissed to varying degrees. Both teams JNPR and RWBY, with Sydney as well. The only person who had no emotional grievances with her was Sun, who was also seated next to her.
"Blake, what the hell were you thinking?" Sydney said with a mixture of disbelief and anger. "You not only run away from your own team, you leave without a note, and then straight up attack the White Fang without help? You do realise what would have happened if either Ruby or JNPR wasn't there to back you up right?"
Oh gods, he looked mad. He looked menacing with that submachine gun.
"I-"
"And what made you think fighting in a dockyard full of Dust?! DUST for christ sake! You know what would have happened if that entire dockyard went off? 6 million Lien worth of Dust, power shortages for a week, and extreme infrastructure damage! Considering the number of Bullheads and explosives they had on them, they sure had the munitions to gladly light you up!"
"Didn't you shoot down a Bullhead?" Sun asked.
"I wasn't the one who instigated a fight with a numerically superior foe!" Sydney snapped. "And what made you think it was a good idea to go up against the White Fang alone?!"
"Well, I thou-"
"As a former member of the White Fang and former de-facto second in command of the Vale branch, you thought that you were more than capable of taking on an insurgency numbering in the thousands?" Sydney finished, with her, Wiess, and Ruby's jaws dropping. "You're an idiot."
"H..ho-HOW!?" Blake gasped in disbelief. "How do you know who I was?"
"Blake, does the name Belladonna mean nothing to you? You think that we, as in the Emerald Hunters, wouldn't have some intel on a high ranking member of one of the biggest political parties on Remnant?" Sydney deadpanned. "Seriously, dig deep on the CCT and you find out that Ghira Belladonna has a daughter. Also, seriously how have none of you figured out her heritage and family? Like seriously, everyone in the Emerald Hunters knows about Blake."
"Wha-"
"Oh and congrats on getting into Beacon. Because of that, I can't legally kidnap you and bring you home for interrogations. But now we get to the meat of the problems-"
"Stop!" Weiss declared. "Sydney, how did you know who Blake was?" Both Weiss and Ruby had a look of betrayal in their faces.
"Well funny story. You see, about a year ago." Sydney said with a telltale voice as he sat down on one the lower bunks. "One of our convoys was hit by rocket fire. A few explosives hit our vehicles. No one died, wanna guess who was responsible?"
Blake gulped. She knew about the rocket attack. Sydney hinted about it.
"The White Fang?" Sun asked
"Correct. Now keep in mind us Emeralds and the Fang have been in a number of accidental skirmishes. Past few years, we tried to send diplomats to make peace only for them to be stabbed. That attack was the last straw. Sooooo we struck back at one of their outposts. Only two escaped the attack. Care to guess who was of the two?"
"Blake?" Weiss turned back to the Faunus. "you attacked the Emerald Hunters?! And survived?"
"I…I…."
"I would have dragged back to base if it weren't for the fact that I'm impressed with you Blake." Sydney cutting off whatever Blake was going to say. "Only White Fang member to injure an Emerald Hunter. And an elite member as well. You're famous! So of course we would keep an eye on you Blake."
Blake now had no idea what to say. The Emerald Hunter, a member of the militant group of Southern Vale, knew about her?
"But…. I hide….hide my."
"Blake, you are literally wearing the same clothes as you left the Fang. And you haven't changed your name. Belladonna! Does that name mean nothing? So of course you're going to stick out like a sore thumb, especially someone who had a bounty of 150,000 Lien on their head? A bow isn't going to hide that!"
Sydney stopped his rant. "But back on topic. What the fuck were you thinking that you could take on an entire terrorist cell? Actually scratch that, what the hell are you doing in Beacon? We're getting mixed ideas. Some people are saying you turned on the White Fang. Others claim you're a spy. So please, help us so we don't have to throw you to the VPD."
"Y-You can't do that!" Blake's eyes widened, along with most of team RWBY.
"I could. We have enough evidence that you would never see daylight again. The only reason my people haven't done that is because we trust the Headmaster enough that we don't piss him off. So Blake, please for the love of Zarquin tell me what are you doing here?"
"Ok I'll tell!" Blake almost sobbed out. "I left the White Fang 3 months ago before I came to Beacon!"
Eternally, Sydney sighed in relief. It looked like UNIS was right. "Why?"
"A…Adam. My former partner. He….he tried to kill several surrendered SDC workers. We…had a disagreement so I left."
"[Neural link] So the intel we picked up was right." Baseplate commented.
"Alright. So you left. But answer me Blake Belladonna." Sydney's face neared the former terrorists. "Can you swear on you life, your name, your family, and on the Brother Gods that you no longer serve the White Fang? That you are not here to spy on Beacon?"
"YES!" Blake cried out.
Sydney sighed in relief. "Good then. I guess I can tell my people to drop the plan to kidnap you."
"WHAT!" Team RWBY and Sun exclaimed.
"Yeah. There was a plot to snatch you from Beacon. Been on hold for a few weeks though since no one was ready to piss off the Wizard of Oz. Now, excuse me." Sydney straightened up. "I need to go to the tower to explain to both Professor Goodwitch and Headmaster Ozpin to not expel you for nearly torching the docks. You four, kiss and make up."
Before turning, Sydney looked at Sun. "Mister Wukong, you're coming with me. I'll have to convince Professor Goodwitch not to throw you to the VPD."
Sun gulped. "Yes sir."
Fifteen minutes later
"I see. And what of the VPD and Torchwick?" Ozpin sat back in his chair.
"The VPD has taken Torchwick and the White Fang into Custody while securing the docks. We've handed the VPD all the information we know before we got out." Sydney said.
"Thank You Mister Ross. Now, what do you plan to do with Mister Wukong?"
"Besides keeping him out of prison?" Sydney cocked his head to the side. "Truthfully we Emerald Hunters haven't had much interaction with Mistral. I guess I snagged Sun here to learn more. That and I'm impressed with his fighting style, though it's a bit too showy for my taste. Still, I can look over him until the rest of his team gets back."
"Fair enough. As of today, Sun Wukong will be brought under your tutelage. Now, I and Glynda will deal with his accommodations, you may head back to your room. Thank you for helping my students."
"My pleasure, Headmaster." Sydney bowed before walking over to the elevator. Turning around once he reached the car, he saw Glynda Goodwitch preparing to unleash her wrath on the poor Faunus student.
The doors shut, leaving Sydney alone.
"[Neural link] What did you find on Torchwick's scroll?" Sydney mentally asked.
"[Neural link] A lot. Torchwick has a number of connections throughout Remnant, not just the White Fang. Most are just other criminals but there are a few that seems….classified. Their files have a ton of firewalls in my way."
"[Neural link] Trouble?"
"[Neural link] Wait…..alright I got something. Torchwick has contacts with someone named Author Watts, a Doctor Merlot, the White Fang, and a number of influential contacts. Contacts in Atlas's military industrial complex."
"[Neural link] SDC? They are Atlas's biggest supplier of weapons."
"[Neural link] Yes, someone is supplying him with Atlassian military weapons. For what reasons, I'm not sure. Odd, Torchwick is not the one to resort to terrorism. Not smart for someone looking for riches."
"[Neural link] Need some help? I know someone in UNIS that can give us a hand."
"[Neural link] Is it one of your sisters?"
"[Neural link] Cindy's good at her job. Why not?"
"[Neural link] Fair."
Sydney booted up his Quantum communicator on his Wrist Com and selected a call to one of his family members, while checking to make sure there were no recording devices. After a short few seconds, a face appeared as a holographic screen of a familiar person.
"Hello Cindy."
"Please don't call me that, I'm on a mission Syd." a groan could be heard from the black haired, amber eyed woman on the other side wearing what appeared to be stealthsuit. (think the Starcraft Ghost suit Nova wears but pitch black).
"Ah, should I then call you agent Asphalt?" Sydney joked and Cinder smiles. "Anyways, what's up?"
"Tracking a rogue huntress in Vacuo of course. Actually, I believe this may be a maiden."
Sydney's eyes widened. "A Maiden? One of those spooky females that have elemental magic? Which one?"
"Either the Fall or Summer I believe. We know the Winter is in Atlas. Spring is somewhere in Mistral. I'm in Vacuo so it's likely the Summer.." Cinder said. Sydney now noticed the Cinder was in a desert like environment not unlike central Oceania.
"Sounds like UNIS is going for the kill. A Maiden will be useful. Anyways, are you still tracking Salem's operatives?" Sydney brought this conversation back to the topic he wanted to speak about.
"Of course I am. We believe that the Summer may be in cahoots with Salem or even she's gone independent. Why do you ask?" Cindy questioned.
"A team of hunter trainees and I apprehended some street rat name Roman Torchwick. Hacked his scroll, he's been stealing a lot of dust and materials for some unknown purpose. Most oddly enough, he's got contacts with rouge scientists, the White Fang, and a bunch of rich dudes. Does the name Merlot or Watts mean anything to do?"
Cinder's eyebrows raised briefly. "Yes. The former is the doctor who tried to buy our little cute adopted twins and our precious emerald. He went to ground after the raid in Southern Vale bandit camp. The latter is an Atlassian scientist responsible for various inventions like environmental Dust control, heating network in Mantle, and that new Paladin Mech coming out of Atlas. However, Watts was supposedly killed in the Paladin incident where his own machine went out of control. Looks like he's still alive, or someone's using his name."
"Could be working with the queen. Come on, we have Valean gangsters, Atlassian scientists, White Fang operatives, and influential business makers working together. All of them hate each other but now they're all working together."
"Yes, Salem could be manipulating these different factions to work together. Do you have the data from Torchwick's scroll? I wish to take a look." Cinder asked.
"Already ahead of you." Sydney pressed his wirstcom and transmitted the data on a secure wireless transmission to his sister. "There you go, everything Baseplate got from Torchwick's scroll. Also some extra data from the Fangers' scrolls that we haven't sifted through."
"Got it. Once I'm off duty, I'll send you anything that you'll need to know." Cinder smiled.
"Thanks sis. One more thing. Do you have any more info on the White Fang in Vale or worldwide? We got a White Fang defector trying to wage a one women war against the whole organisation and I would love not to see Vale in flames."
"Will do. I'll also send any concerning updates on Vale if nothing happens. Now, in the meantime." Cinder brought down her spec ops goggles. "I have a maiden to kill or capture. And some criminals to interrogate. Good hunting Ranger, and stay out of trouble."
"Godspeed Agent. Kick their asses. And say high to mom and dad for me when you get some leave." Sydney smiled back.
The call ended and conveniently, the doors opened letting Sydney back into Beacon Towers lobby. Walking out and stepping back into the pathways of Beacon, Sydney noticed that it was quiet. Well it was night time so most students were either getting ready for bed or doing late night activities.
Beacon Academy brought back some good memories of his childhood before he joined the UNAF, the rangers, and the Emerald Hunters. Gods, it been so long since he went mountain climbing with Emmy, tanking with Amas, or space diving with Melo.
"I should call them. It's been a while." Sydney walked back to his room, which was actually the international dorms where the incoming Mistrali students were staying. It was a simple one person room, not much bigger than his old room in Oceania.
Closing the door behind him, Sydney sat back down on his bed and once again activated his wristcom.
"[Neural link] Baseplate, mind you give me some privacy? Gonna make some calls to family."
"[Neural link] Wilco, going dark."
Sydney pressed a few buttons before the wristcom began vibrating as it attempted to contact one of Sydney's contacts.
Eventually, a holographic screen appeared, revealing a familiar light brown haired, brown eyed, dog faunus? "yo?"
"Amas, I told you to speak properly." Sydney scolded his adopted younger brother. "Wait you're a jarhead. You can't speak proper basic as the United Nation's Misguided Children!"
"At least the UN acknowledges us as their children, unlike you army boys." Amas chuckled. "What's up?"
"Ehh, just bored. Outside of reigning in a White Fang defector turned huntress, nothing too much. I am teaching a couple of hunters myself. You?"
"Mop up of surviving TLF forces near Higara. I'll tell you, those Sobani boys are really good at fighting." Amas shrugged. "You know those Kapis Sand Carriers? Heard the Blue Navy is interested in developing their own."
"Mobile land aircraft carriers. Gods we could use some down here at Remnant. And the Sobani are true warriors, not simple mercs. BTW, You finished tankery school?"
"Yup! 3 years of tankery in high school made things really easy! Best part is that I'm getting my own tank!" Amas said proudly.
"You're kidding me? You've been a marine for two years, how the hell are you getting your own tin box? Actually, what kind of tank?" Sydney was genuinely interested.
"Don't know actually. It's a one man design though. It's either a Marauder class Light Tanks, one of those new Liberator UCVs, or a one man Liberator Standards. They're still going through evaluations." Amas shrugged.
Sydney had heard of the newest line of armoured vehicles to come off the line. The Marauders and the Liberator Urban Combat Vehicle MBT Variant. Some people asked why the heck the UNAF needed light tanks when it had the tech and resources to build MBTs that could either be airlifted or orbitally dropped in. But transportation wasn't the main issue. The main issue was that the UNAF was finding itself fighting in more rugged terrain where conventional tracked vehicles were having difficulty. What few mechs the UNAF did use were also not faring well.
The Marauder was tentatively called a light tank, though it would be an MBT by 21st century standards. It mounted a short barrelled 130mm, similar to that of the Maryia APCs, and a Coaxial Gamma Pulse laser while being propelled by quad tracks. Its armour and shields was better than a Valkyrie but weaker than a Liberator. But that's not what made the Marauder unique. It was its ability for its quad tracks to transform into hover engines, allowing it to glide over difficult obstacles. It would be the first true hover tank for the UNPF and UNMC.
The Liberator UCV, on the other hand, was something of a revival of the old BMP Terminator experiments. After many pitched battles with heavy mechs, walkers, and bots during the 1st Golden Age, the Era of Conflict, the many bushfire wars of the Pre-Unbidden War, and the Khanate wars, UNAF tankers found themselves fighting less heavy opponents and dealing with more Urban combat similar to that of the early 21st century. 130mms were considered either overkill or unsuitable for Urban combat. So the solution by General Vehicle Works, the main producer of tanks for the UNAF, was to replace the 130mm Gauss Cannon with two 60mm gauss anti-armour cannons, 2 Gamma Pulse beams, a couple of fifty cals, and a fully automatic grenade launcher.
Oh, and some people were trying to make one-person tanks. Sydney was still waiting for news on that front.
"Seriously? You getting some of the newest tanks from GVW? What did you do to get that sort of luxury?" Then again, being a Ross did have some perks.
"I did kill a few Taidai mechs and walkers. I'm a tank ace! Honestly surprised they didn't just stick me as a gunner on one of the standards. Anyways, enough about me. What about you?"
"Same old, same old. At Beacon being the UNAF's liaison here. I did stop a Fanger attack on Vale's docks so that's fun. Oh yeah, I had to slap some sense in Belladonnas' child." Sydney sighed. God it was like high school.
"Hey, let the kids have their fun. We had our fun stopping evil at Electxia Academy. I mean, we did rescue 700 slaves with nothing more than stun rounds and beating people up." the Faunus marine shrugged.
"Yeah, guess so. We did some dumb shit in our teens. Us four, Ez, Sabine, Tellini, Zob. Good times at Electxia." Sydney chuckled.
"Yeah. Alright I need to head off now. I'll call you later ranger."
"See you later jar head. Don't get crayon poisoning. And get your ass down here to Beacon as well. Could use a Tanker." Sydney waved away his brother. Amas gave a wave before the screen shuts off.
Sydney lays down on his bed, thinking back to the docks. White Fang, Torchwick, Atlassian scientists. Big ass conspiracy.
And that little war between Ozama and Salem. It would probably go on for generations, with only the weight of several interstellar nations crashing down on it capable of halting it.
"Screw it. Let tomorrow me deal with it." Sydney got back up, walked near the desk, and unslung the P-90 he was carrying. Despite being over 800 years old, the design held up on Remnant.
"Looks like FN products still work." Sydney was about to begin stripping apart the PDW when he heard a knock on his door. "Come in!"
The door creaked open and Nora stuck her head in. "Hey Syd! Care to let a girl in?"
"Yeah sure. No problem." The door widened ultimately and revealed team JNPR.
"Juniper, welcome to my little dorm. What can I do for you?" Sydney asked, putting down the P-90.
"The rest of the first year teams are kind of getting….. interested in us." Pyrrha said sheepishly. "We might have made headlines."
"Headlines? Already?" This was a record, even for him.
Ren simply flicks out his scroll and plays a live video. It was of Lisa Lavender speaking.
"-We've just received news from the Vale Police Department. The recent skirmish at one of Vale's main docks was in fact caused by the White Fang, led by renown criminal Roman Torchwick, to steal a major supply of SDC Dust. There has been no official reason why Torchwick and the White Fang are working together. However the plot had been foiled by a joint team of Beacon Academy students called JNPR, a Haven Academy, and the most surprisingly of all: a member of the Secretive Emerald Hunters.
This is an extraordinary group. Not only does this group contain a member of a militant group branching out of Southern Vale, but also Pyrrha Nikos. Mistral's own champi-"
Ren shuts off the scroll. "Like I said, famous."
Sydney could tell Pyrrha was uncomfortable. "Close the door." Jaune obliges and shuts the door behind them.
"Let me guess now. A bunch of students are heckling you and you wanted to escape them?" Pyrrha nodded. "Welcome to adult life. You have taxes to deal with, the Grimm that wants to eat you, and the news wants to suffocate you to death."
The members of team JNPR chuckle lightly. "Yeah, but I suppose we should ignore them for now. Let me clear, you four fought well today. We went up against a numerically superior foe who had well trained opponents and air support. Not many people go up against odds without some advantages themselves. Good work. Though Nora, please avoid using your grenade launcher when in a storage area full of Dust."
"More leg breaking?"
"Ye-yes when you can't use your grenade launcher. Although do remember most of Remnant doesn't have aura so watch how much strength you use." Sydney gave a smile. "We don't want the media portraying us all as bone breaking manics. Or you know, try those new barely less than lethal grenade rounds I gave you."
Nora chackled, sending a shiver down the rest of Team JNPR. Sydney just smiled. It was just like high school.
He still wanted a tank.
United Nations Database…United Nations Army
When the declaration of the United Nations was signed on June 26th, 1945, there were clauses written in it that allowed for the formation of a unified military to enforce peace. However the Cold War, decades of violence caused by cultural differences, the depowerment of the UN during the Third Terran World War, the great solar expansions, and many more events have delayed it's formation. It wasn't until the United Nations Allied Force was permanently established as Sol's primary military command that it was cemented into reality. People of today can scarcely remember a time where there was no armada of tanks, not division of soldiers, no fleets of aircraft, or bulwarks of planetary fortifications carrying the emblems of the United Nations Army.
Being the biggest branch of both the United Nations Planetary Force and the UNAF itself, the UN Army is responsible for defending Sol's extrasolar planetary and lunar colonies. The UN Army is also responsible for providing security for budding colonies until proper law enforcement can be established, humanitarian missions alongside the UNAF's other branches, civil engineering, and aerospace defence. For this reason, there are several sub branches of the Army, including the United Nations Army Corps of Engineers and the United Nations Pathfinders. However at it's core, the United Nations Army is a highly mechanised and mobile force, ready to defend and take colonies.
Supreme Command of the United Nations Army is divided between 9 Strategic Stellar Commands: Strategic Command Sol, Strategic Command Taris, Strategic Command Tikita, Strategic Command Mikita, Strategic Command San Salvacion, Strategic Command New Eden, Strategic Command Mitharo, Strategic Command Orion, and Strategic Command Centaurus. Each command is for a single major sector within the United Nations of Sol (sectors usually have hundreds of inhabited planets, moons, and orbital habitats).
The United Nations Army is generally divided into either Army Assault or Defensive Groups. Each Assault Group will typically have a force of 10-15 million organic and synthetic personnel of an all encompassing force (this includes regular foot soldiers, tankers, aircrews, logistics personnel, support personnel, etc) with all their necessary equipment. The personnel of an army group are typically recruited via nationality or species. This reflects both the fact that the United Nations of Sol is still technically an Confederal Organisation and the dozens of species speaking languages spoken by its thousands of nations. It's easier for both organisation and logistical purposes to have army groups based around species with similar cultures and body shape rather than fully integrated forces (You will find Humans, Faunus, Higerians, and Atmoasians serving in the same force rather than Vissari, Vrinn, Wessari, Tiyals, and so on), though exceptions do exist.
Next step down are Battlegroups. Battlegroups are composed of 300,000 personnel with accompanying equipment and logistical support. These battle groups may have differing specialties geared towards operating in different climates (Arctic, Desert, Ocean, etc). Battlegroups are traditionally the largest formation seen operating on frontier colonies.
Next one down is the Division. Each division may have around 10,000 personnel. There are around 30 divisions in a battlegroup. Divisions may specialise in different combat varieties: Armour, mechanised, orbital boarding, mountain infantry, powered infantry, etc.
After the division level, units are then divided into brigades, regiments, battalions, companies, platoons, and squads. A squad of UN soldiers will have 9-12 members (varies from division to division) and 6 Hawk Drones.
Note that while the United Nations Army Aerospace force is technically apart of the Army, it operates quite independently from ground forces. That goes for the same with the United Nations Maritime Navy as well.
Strategically, each Strategic Stellar Command has thousands of army groups. Strategic Command Sol has the largest, with 1066 army groups (many have legacies dating back to pre-space bound Earth armies) while Stellar Command Centaurus has the smallest, with only 167 army groups.
The most famous army groups are:
1st Terran Army Group (primarily made up of forces from colonies around Sol, the first army group)
94th Tefina Army Group (Known for being the first UNAF force to fire the first shots in anger during the Age of Conflict)
2812th Mithida Army Group (The first army group comprised of the Aquarian species)
501st Orion Army Group (Considered to be the first army group comprised of many species)
1122nd Usean Army Group (First battlegroup formed of the Strangela Sector)
709th Europan Army Group (Rendered combat ineffective during the defence of Europa 7)
3001st Sobani Army Group (The first battle group formed of the Higerian species)
122nd Reach Army Group (Successfully invaded the planet of Tan'toni, current capital of the FFN)
189th New Havite Army Group (First non-Human Army Group)
442nd Titanium Army Group (First integrated Synthetic-Organic army group)
Logging out
Sorry this took so long! I'm getting sidetracked by school. Anyways, happy Halloween.
Extra: These are some story ideas I wanted to try out but am unwilling to make a brand new story. Have fun with these extras.
Story idea 1: Another Stellaris/Mass Effect story (actual Quarian first contact, less OP humanity)
2342, Shanxi Star System
UNS/HMS Dauntless Carrier
The opening of the ancient wormhole gate had gone poorly, Commodore Hannah Shepard decided. As eternally, it spewed out something that shouldn't have happened.
Which was why her 3 kilometre carrier and a dozen escorts was now outnumbered.
"Will someone tell me what just happened?!" Hannah shrieked.
"We're surrounded! We're picking up 50,000 unknown ships that just came out of the Wormhole gate!" a sensor operator reported.
Yup, good day to be in command.
Premise: Essentially an actual first contact fic between the United Nations of Earth of Stellaris (Early to mid game tech) and the Quarian Migrant fleet. Essentially the UNE opens a derelict wormhole gate that activates a second one that's located in the same star system as the Quarian Migrant Fleet. One thing leads to another, the Wormhole gate on the Migrant fleet's side malfunctions/ sucking up the fleet, and the Quarians are dragged into UNE territory while being cutoff from the Citadel Council.
Story idea 2: The Blue and White Cross (RWBY/Earth Fic, Inspired by Operation Forging Steel)
Brussels, Europe, Earth 2036
NATO Headquarters
Canadian General James Paul walked through the main doors of the NATO Brussels HQ. 13 years ago, he never would have believed that he would be coordinating an international force on another planet.
The number of nations within the alliance had grown since the Russian special military operation that had pushed Sweden and Finland to join. And they even had informal members from Asia and Africa in the form of South Korea, Australia, Japan, and others as well.
Currently, NATO was in a semi-cold war with the Chinese and the Russians blocs. The two sides bickered over things like Taiwan, North Korea, and the Ukrainian situation. Oh and the growing space race.
Or at least that was on Earth. Elsewhere, NATO was very involved with a secret operation on another planet. The whole other planet thing was happening. And stopping the slow extinction of Humanity on another world.
"Good to be back here." Paul said as he walked into an active command center. Officers and soldiers were running around, filling out orders, reviewing crap, or staring at computers. One of the officers, a Colonel Nowack of Poland, walked up to him. "General, your coffee."
"Thank you Colonel." Paul took a sip. "Sitrep."
"The people of Lower Carin have arrived through the portals sir. They're shaken up but alright. Otherwise, everything is following canon."
"Besides us raiding a bunch of SDC and White Fang bases." the two officers chuckled. It was a good job crashing through those hypocritical fucks.
"So I'm guessing we're still go for Glenn's Light?" Paul questioned as the two walked to Ross's impromptu office.
"All the nations have said yes. We can launch when ready. My brothers in the tenth armour brigade are ready to sink their teeth into these animals." the colonel gave a predator smile.
"Don't forget the Princess Patricia Regiment and the 75th. We're also ready to duke it out with these fucks." The two officers walked into Paul's office. On it were dozens of ipads and forms with reports, evaluations, lists, etc.
Operation New Horizons, that was the name of the NATO operations in Remnant. Their goal was to figure out how to keep Earth safe from Ozpin and Salem's war. But then it evolved into a multi-national research mission to figure out the Grimm, aura, Faunus, etc. Before long, NATO forces were bringing home tens of thousands of Faunus refugees that were in such terrible states that no-one dared to turn them away.
The brother gods themselves were encouragement, having two gods descend on a NATO summit was a good way to get the West's attention.
So that was why NATO had thousands of troops on Remnant and tens of thousands of Faunus refugees living on Earth. On the plus side, NATO had people with Aura, and training to boot.
"Say, how long until the Breach happens?" Paul asked.
"3 days. The Beacon Dance starts tomorrow." Novack asked.
"When Ozpin's having his speech, we strike. We take out the White Fang, knock out Merlot, and claim Mount Glenn for ourselves." Paul noted down.
"I do have reservations on holding onto Mount Glenn. Vale won't like that." Novack frowned.
"Mount Glenn is a Coastal city, it has several intact maritime and airports our navy can use. We could use some more ships and planes. And maybe fuck with Ozzie a bit."
A flurry of activity were heard outside his office. Both the General and Colonel got up and returned to the command and control hub.
"General? SAS and Crusader assets reported they've infiltrated Mount Glenn. They've found the Paladins. All White Fang Assets located." a communications operator reported.
"Then this is it. Begin Operation Glenn's Light. Time we stepped out of the shadows and faced the music!" Paul declared.
And soon enough, thousands of soldiers, air personnel, and marines began mobilizing in Earth's first interplanetary assault.
Premise: So I was reading a bunch of SI fics where a Terran gets dropped into Remnant and wondered: What would happen if Earth (our Earth where RWBY as a franchise exists) got contacted by the brother gods who asked for their help to kill Salem. So we have a bunch of generals, admirals, governments trying to deal with Salem instead of one fat SI who thinks he's doing what's right.
Anyways that's just some story ideas. No actual story planned. If you want to use them for your own story, that's fine. Go ahead and try.
Now again, Happy Early Halloween my good friends! Enjoy your October!
