Hetty arranged a team picnic on the beach one day.
'Man, I love picnics. It's so peaceful.' Deeks remarked.
'Yeah, they're fun. Until spiders or ants invade.' Sam butted in.
'Let me guess, your last picnic had unwanted visitors came in and started snacking on your food?' Callen asked.
'Aw heck, he's big bad Sam Hanna! He probably fought them off with bug sprayh and went right back to eating.' Kensi rang in.
'Ha ha. A few years ago, I wanted a picnic with my family. Not only did ants decide to invade, but it also started to rain. It was very miserable.'
Over in the distance at the picnic table, Hetty and Granger were observing the happy agents.
'It's nice to see them happy.' Granger started.
'It is. 1 of the joys of being in charge is getting to see them happy.' Hetty replied, putting the tea down.
'Getting to see you happy is also a joy.'
Smiling. 'I like seeing you happy as well.'
'Aren't I always happy though?' Granger asked.
Hetty smirked. 'You're not as much of a grump as you think. I know there's a big softie inside of you.'
Granger smiled. How did this remarkable little lady see so much goodness in someone like him?
'You're okay yourself, you know.'
