Katniss returns home after her mom died. She finds a picture of Peeta Mellark, a younger man (only 10 years older than Katniss), with whom her mother had a short affair ... A series of letters chronicling the love story of Katniss and Peeta as they try to resolve their stalled relationship. This fic is complete, and I'll be updating it at least weekly.

Katniss has returned to New York, and her pictures were a hit! The Amur snow leopard hybrid was a big sensation. Prim, likewise, had her own success by graduating with honors! Katniss was so proud of her little duck. After a quick visit to Uncle Haymitch and Auntie Amelia, she decided to stay with Prim in another state. A light-hearted and mildly funny letter from Haymitch asking her a favor.

Dear sweetheart,

I'm writing to you so soon after you've left Virginia during your brief visit because Amelia keeps bugging me to send you pictures of her "altar" wall of you and Prim. Look at the picture for yourself. Your aunt is going bananas on the neighbors, showing Prim's graduation pictures and the cover of this month's Capitol Adventure magazine. Ripper is ecstatic that her stall was cleaned out of the magazine on the first day because your auntie bought the damn expensive magazines in bulk. She's so proud of you and Prim, she's driving me nuts! The wall where you enter the house is blinding with your Auntie's shrine of you. Gold. I've never seen so much gold glitter in my life!

So, you have to come for a visit again soon, or your Aunt Amelia will make me hop on a train to visit you both - which as you know, I do NOT want to do. Geese have to eat, the garden has to be tended to, routines have to be kept, and I don't want to aggravate my arthritis! My knees have been hurting, and the doctor said I can't take more pills for it. Don't even begin to ask me about my lower back. Amelia complains that I don't do enough around the house for her, but she's the one causing my back problems every night.

So you better come here with our little genius nurse duck in the next two weeks, or you'll never hear the end of it from me.

P. S. Your aunt requests that you bring a framed and signed picture of the front cover of Capitol Magazine. She also wants a copy of Prim's diploma to place on the wall. Just do it, sweetheart, and make my life easy for once.

Snow will not be playing a major role in this fic, there's already a lot going on. He's just a wealthy, very demanding, and exotic wildlife patron/ boss.
