Chapter 16:
Follow the Nose
Location: Paniola Town
"Well," I said. "Time to hit the road."
"Yeah," Hau said. "Onto our next Trial! Brooklet Hill!"
"Pardon me." We saw a Lass with blonde hair and farmer clothes running over to us. "Alola. I saw you two battle yesterday. You must be strong."
"Yeah!" Hau said. "Why?"
"Because," she said. "We're having some trouble with the farm. Some bad people wearing all black came over and messed up the field."
"Muzzt be thozze good for nothing Team Skull. Roto," Rotom Dex said.
"I bet you're right," I replied.
"Please help," the Lass said. "We'll make it worth your while."
"This will make a good training opportunity!" I said. "Let's do this!"
Location: Paniola Ranch
We walked into the ranch. There was a large field with Miltank, Tauros and Mudbray grazing soundly. There was also lots of tall grass just outside and some ramps, presumably for training Pokémon to pull carts.
"So, what did they do?" I asked.
"They decided to mess about with my father. He tried to battle them, but he got beat up pretty bad. Not just his Pokémon, but him to."
"Sorry to hear that," I said. "But we'll help!"
"Great!" the Lass said. "My name is Marjorie. Sorry I haven't introduced yourself yet. Okay, my friend Mallow is in the Moomoo Paddock, where we keep Miltank. Elliott, you head over there. Hau, would you like to train the Tauros to walk up the ramps?"
"Can do!" Hau said.
I followed the signs to the Moomoo Paddock where the Miltank were eating the grass. Does ask the question as to why does the pink Miltank give white Moomoo Milk when it only eats green grass.
"Not as many as I thought there would be," I thought. Just then, I saw a girl wearing blue overalls and a red top. She had green hair in two Ponyta tails. I tapped on her shoulder.
"Oh, Alola!" she said. She was holding a small-pink Pokémon with a green-leafy top.

It tries to resist being swallowed by a bird Pokémon by spinning the sepals on its head. It's usually a fruitless attempt.
"Alola!" I said. "My name is Elliott. I'm going to presume your name is Mallow?"
"Yep!" she said. "I'm the Trial Captain of the Lush Jungle, and a budding cook!" She looked around. "Usually at my restaurant, they deliver the Moomoo Milk that I serve up. But after the incident with Team Skull, most of the Miltank were beaten up pretty badly and are not giving milk."
"Sorry to hear that," I said. "Maybe a Berry will help!"
Upon hearing this, Bounsweet got scared. "Not you silly!" Mallow told it. "But maybe your Sweet Scent could get them to calm down."
"Great idea! Zzt zzt!" said Rotom. "Do you have any Berriezz Mallow? Roto?"
"Yep!" she said. "Oran Berries. I didn't give them to the Miltank right away because I was trying to calm down… that." Mallow pointed to the next field along where a Tauros seemed to be stressing.
"I thought Tauros in Alola were calmer," I said.
"They are! Roto! I'm the one who scanned it!"
"Well we should stop it!" I said. I jumped over the fence and went in front of Tauros. "It's okay," I told it. But Tauros wasn't having any of it. "Okay then, desperate times call for desperate measures. Go Makuhita!" Out came my Fighting Type. "Fake Out!" Makuhita clapped in front of Tauros, making it flinch. "Now's our chance!"
"What are you doing?!" Marjorie shouted.
"Trust me!" I replied. I looked all over Tauros' fur and found it. A thorn! "Hold still Tauros!" I yanked it out. Tauros gave a loud moo and calmed right down.
"How did you do that?" Marjorie asked. "That was amazing!"
"Thanks," I said. "It's all part of being a great Trainer. Taking risks."
"What did I miss?" Mallow asked, running over to see the now calm Tauros. "Huh, interesting. I'm guessing you're taking the Island Challenge?"
I held up my Z-Ring. "You bet!" Just then, something caught my eye. It was green and glowing. I got out the Zygarde Cube. Sure enough, the Zygarde Cell went in.
"What a fascinating Trainer," Mallow said.
"You bet! Zzt! Elliott is nizze, ambitouzz and strong! Roto! Clearly he'zz brave to!"
"I think you deserve something great for this!" Marjorie said. "May I have your Ride Pager?" I handed it to Marjorie. She got out a chip and inserted it in. "I've added a new Ride Pokémon! Stoutland!"
"Let us see!" I said. I retrieved the Ride Pager and held it up. "I summon, Stoutland!" Sure enough, I got changed into the colourful clothes again. A brown-furry Pokémon was also summoned.

I got on Stoutland. "Stoutland can sniff out hidden Items!" said Marjorie. "Give it a go!"
"Okay Stoutland, do it!" Stoutland put its nose on the floor and started sniffing. It walked in the way it was presumably sniffing, then stopped. I got off, and found what it had sniffed out; a Big Mushroom! "Nice one!" I said.
Location: Paniola Town
"Thanks for your help again," said Marjorie. "Now we can also work on training the Pokémon at the Daycare."
"You have a Daycare to?! Roto? That soundzz like a handful!"
"Sure is," I said. "Hau, did you get Stoutland as a Ride Pokémon?"
"I don't think he did," said Marjorie. "Hold on." Hau gave Marjorie his Ride Pager, and she inserted a chop. "Now you can ride and find to!"
"Thanks!" I said. "Okay, tomorrow it is onto Brooklet Hill!"
Also, not gonna talk about every single Zygarde Cell from here on out. Trust me; I'm collecting them.
Rotom's Move Dex:
Zzt! It'zz me again! Roto! Today hazz been tiring. But hey, Elliott got a new Ride Pokémon! The Normal Type Stoutland! Yep, it'zz Normal Type time! Roto! So, the move we will be looking at will be…
Tri Attack! Roto!
And I thought Scald wazz awkward. Roto. Tri Attack is a solid Special move that hazz a chance of inflicting the oppozzing Pokémon with one of three statuzz conditionzz! Zzt! Either burn, paralysizz or frozen. I guezz it'zz Normal azz having a three Typed move would be horrifying. Roto.
Pokémon that can learn Tri Attack include Dugtrio (both forms), Magnezone and Porygon-Z. Roto!
And pleazze, do not try three thingzz at onzze in your regular life. Zzt.
