Now that Ginjiro and Bella had mated, they decided that they should have a place of their own as well. Bella didn't want to take Renesmee away from her grandfather, Jake, or the Cullens, so Ginjiro agreed to stay in Washington. Besides, he was still Kagome's healer so he wouldn't be leaving for Japan any time soon anyway.

Ginjiro and Bella were able to buy the land that was adjacent to Emmett's and Kagome's, and Jake and his pack would move in with them; this left Leah closer to Shippou since he moved in with Kagome and Emmett. Once the couple mated, they would get a place of their own.

Ginta and Hakkaku came up from California to work on Ginjiro and Bella's new home. While that was going on, they would stay with Kagome and Emmett, though they visited the Cullens often.

Life was quiet for the family, and everything was ideal. There were no problems for the Cullens or anyone else, and the peace continued for months. Since Renesmee was now a hanyou, she grew at the average rate of any child, which made everyone happy. And Kagome's pregnancy was progressing nicely, much to Emmett's delight. He loved touching his wife's baby bump and talking to his child. Kagome would giggle every time Emmett would speak to her belly in a baby voice and laugh uncontrollably when he would blow raspberries on her stomach.

Soon it was time for Kagome and Emmett to buy baby furniture for the nursery. They went to Seattle to shop and register for Kagome's baby shower. Alice wanted to go, but Rosalie convinced her that this should be something between Kagome and Emmett. The couple went to a local baby boutique to register for gifts for Kagome's baby shower, but the oversized items Kagome and Emmett would buy.

So the couple walked through the store and picked out the crib, dresser, changing table, rocking chair, and bassinet that they would keep in their room until their son was a bit older and he could sleep on his own in the nursery. Kagome and Emmett decided to get white furniture. They had the room painted white with green trim and a forest mural on one of the walls. It reminded Kagome of the feudal era; Emmett thought it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and it gave him an insight into what Kagome had experienced.

After finishing their shopping and registering for Kagome's baby shower, the couple went out to eat, then headed back to Forks. The baby's furniture would be delivered in a few days, and Emmett and Kostas would put it together. While this was going on, Alice and Rosalie were planning Kagome's baby shower that would take place in a few weeks. They made sure to invite all the wolves' imprints from La Push. Since a compromise had been reached between Sam's pack and the Cullens, the treaty was no longer needed. They decided to have the baby shower at the beginning of November. Also, Kagome and Emmett would host Thanksgiving that year, so there were many things to prepare for. Emily decided she, too, would cook a turkey, knowing that the boys could eat a lot. So they agreed that three turkeys should be enough to feed all the guests, including Kouga's pack, Sam's pack, Jacob's Pack, Emmett, Ginjiro, Shippou, Charlie, Billy, and Sue.

Kagome thought for a moment and asked Emily, "Do you think three will be enough?"

Emily thought for a moment, "We better make it four. I'll ask Sue to make one."

"And I'll ask Bella and Esme. It's better to be safe than sorry."

Emily nodded in agreement.

On the day of Kagome's baby shower, all the women showed up at the Cullen house. The house was decorated with blue and white streamers, and a large banner congratulated Kagome. Alice and Rosalie had done an excellent job with the decorations. The women hugged and congratulated Kagome on having a boy. Throughout the entire day, the ladies played games and ate cake. They laughed and talked and had a grand time.

When it was time for Kagome to open the presents, the women gathered in the living room and watched Kagome open her gifts and show everyone what she had gotten, but just as Alice was coming into the room with a tray of drinks, she gasped and dropped the tray. Alice got a faraway look, and everyone knew she had a vision. Bella and Kagome were instantly at Alice's side, "Alice, what did you see?"

"Aro, Caius, Marcus, and the entire guard are coming to Forks. There were being led by Edward; he joined their guard. They're coming to destroy us because they think Renesmee is an immortal child and..."

"And?" Bella asked.

"Aro wants Kagome for her powers and me too."

The women gasped and looked at each other, worried. Kagome narrowed her eyes and placed a protective hand on her belly, "That is not going to happen."

"Kagome, we can't go up against the Volturi; the offensive weapons are too strong," Rosalie countered.

Kagome smirked, "You've never seen a Youkai fight, Rose. And a pack defends its own. Let the Volturi come; they're in for a rude awaking on who the stronger species is."

Bell grinned evilly, "I can't wait to tell Ginjiro; I'm sure he'd like to have a word with Edward."

The rest of the women relaxed, and they continued with the party. They would inform the men later and make plans, and Kagome had to tell Sesshoumaru. She was sure he would find this information very interesting.
