AtlierSky- Thanks for reviewing. This battle will be the least of their worries. The troubles and drama aren't over just yet!
New POV!
Oh, no! Sparrow Fur thought. Of course, something has to go wrong!
The rogues clustered together, surrounding the clancats and their friends, their claws (and the teeth around the BloodClan cats' necks) glinting in the sunlight. Sparrow Fur snarled at the sight of One Eye. The scourge of her life!
"Follow me!" River Ripple called and raced past with Night and Wind Runner, who easily outpaced them.
Sparrow Fur raced at Gray Wing's side. The rogues weren't following, thank StarClan. She looked around and was relieved to see all three of her brothers nearby.
River Ripple hopped down onto the riverbank where a narrow strip of pebbles divided the water from the grass. Once everyone had followed him into his camp, River Ripple stopped, giving them a moment to catch their breath.
Sparrow Fur glanced around. Everyone was there, safe and sound.
"We left Holly and Wind Runner's kits back at the camp!" Jagged Peak nervously yowled.
Well, almost everyone.
"I'm sure they won't come to immediate harm," Skystar assured his brother. "As long as we come up with a new plan quickly to distract them."
They all huddled together, their heads close. "What should we do?" Shattered Ice asked. "They'll come for us soon if we don't do something!"
River Ripple moved upstream. "This way!" he called, heading towards RiverClan territory.
"Um, won't RiverClan be mad if we trespass?"
"Not if you're with me," Shattered Ice meowed. "Besides, we'll be fast."
"I hope so," Cloud Tail meowed from her side. Pebble Heart was padding alongside her other side with Owl Eyes next to him. It felt nice to have all her littermates back together again.
The pebbles were slippery under their paws as the group walked single file along the bank.
River Ripple stopped in front of an abandoned tunnel near the bank. "It's one of WindClan's," he explained. "They have many abandoned tunnels all around."
"Cool," Birch murmured.
River Ripple let Wind Runner lead the way into the tunnel since she was one of the experts and the rest followed.
The soil was damp, and earth surrounded them as the tunnel began to slope downward. The coolness of the dirt brushed against Sparrow Fur's scars.
Wind Runner moved swiftly and confidently, knowing which way to go. Sparrow Fur noticed that Gray Wing had moved towards the back of the group, heaving a bit. She dropped back beside him, worried but he only smiled in assurance.
Suddenly, after a few minutes, fresh light filtered into the tunnel from somewhere ahead. He could make out River Ripple and Wind Runner silhouetted against the rim of the tunnel's exit.
Skystar halted. "We need a new plan," he said softly. "I'm going to check what's outside." He moved forward, sticking to the shadows, and stuck his head outside.
He came back a moment later. "It's safe."
The others moved forward cautiously. They emerged in the middle of a circular gorse thicket near the Windmill Twoleg Nest which was on no one's territory, so they could plan their next move without a disturbance.
Only a few long lengths away, Sparrow Fur spotted the rogues, prowling about.
"We gotta hurry or they'll track us here," Fire Heart murmured.
The branches suddenly rustled. Reed, Minnow and Slate, who had run in the opposite direction appeared. "We were waiting for you," Minnow said. "One Eye was too busy looking for you all. What should we do?"
Every pair of eyes turned on Skystar, who was silent for a moment before he looked up at the sky and his blue eyes brightened.
"We can use the sun," Sparrow Fur's uncle meowed. "We can hide in a tree, and call out to One Eye. He'll come to investigate. But when he looks up, he won't be able to see because of the sun. And then we'll all rush him."
"Perfect!" Shattered Ice said approvingly.
Slowly, one by one, the group slid out from the gorse thicket. They edged their way back towards the WindClan-SkyClan border.
Sparrow Fur could see Star Flower standing around, watching her father and his allies searching. She growled as she thought of how the foxheart had broken her cousin's heart before Wind Runner asked: "Who's going to call out?"
"I'll do it," Sparrow Fur immediately meowed.
"No," Gray Wing said as many others looked shocked at her proclamation. "It's too dangerous."
"One Eye nearly killed me," she growled, determined. "He hates me the most, so he won't resist the chance to come over."
Gray Wing opened his mouth to protest, then stopped. He stared into her eyes and nodded slowly.
She would be just like her mother. Brave and determined to help, no matter the cost. I hope you're watching Turtle Tail. I won't let you down.
Her brothers all nodded approvingly.
"You've got this."
"Good luck."
"We'll be right behind you."
She smiled. She could never ask for better siblings. She nodded at her mentor, Nettle, who mouthed, 'I believe in you.'
"One Eye!" she yowled. "You tried to kill me! But I'm gonna kill you! You're a mouse-brain, for letting us leave so easily. Come fight me!"
One Eye stiffened and turned towards them.
"You two!" One Eye snapped, flicking his tail to the two tortoiseshell BloodClanners. Fury looked annoyed at him ordering her warriors around. "Check the forest for any of those Clan idiots. The rest of you, surround the tree!"
The rogues obeyed, moving towards the tree. Once they'd formed a circle around it, One Eye followed. "Well, if it isn't Miss Bossy! Telling me not to stand up to ThunderClan! Don't act like they haven't been a menace to your Clan for so long too. I was merely trying to help you all!"
"My name's Sparrow Fur," the tortoiseshell meowed proudly, straightening up. "I'm Turtle Tail's daughter. And I follow the warrior code like not killing an innocent elder! But since you're a bad guy, I'll have to kill you!"
She caught Gray Wing's proud look and felt more invigorated to defeat him.
One Eye snarled as he squinted, trying to see into the tree.
"Now!" Skystar shouted.
The cats leaped down from the tree, landing on One Eye and his rogues. Shouts of shock and alarm surrounded them. Sparrow Fur saw most of the rogues race off towards Twolegplace. They had been the nervous and reluctant ones. Very few remained.
One of them was Star Flower. She moved straight for Thunder and angrily lashed out. Thunder just barely managed to dodge. He jumped on her and clawed at her, fury burning in his eyes.
Lightning Tail and Cloud Spots went straight for One Eye. Sparrow Fur followed. She would get her revenge! For Poppydawn, who had saved her life, for Skystar and Gray Wing being kicked out of their Clan, for Thunder, who's heart had been broken because of his manipulative daughter, and for everyone else who had suffered from his wrath.
The rogue dropped to the ground. Just as Cloud Spots jumped him first, he exploded into movement, slashing at Lightning Tail nearby, who retaliated with jabs.
Cloud Spots made a grab at One Eye's throat, but the rogue twisted around just in time and kicked the medicine cat off. When Lightning Tail attacked from the other side, One Eye spun around to give him a nasty cuff and send the black tom reeling.
Sparrow Fur, without hesitation, jumped on his back and dug her claws into his shoulders as he spun around to dislodge her.
At last, Cloud Spots and Lightning Tail darted forward in unison and tackled One Eye to the ground. They held him down. Sparrow Fur put her paw on his chest.
She noticed Star Flower race towards them with a yowl, but Quick Water sent her tumbling, sneering in disgust.
Sparrow Fur slashed her claws down his throat like he'd try doing to her. She'd meant it when she said she'd get her revenge and she'd gotten it.
"No!" Star Flower yowled.
"Drive her off!" Thunder yowled and Leaf along with many others chased her and the remaining rogues and kittypets all the way back to the Twolegplace.
"Finally!" Mud Paws yowled in triumph.
The cats all rejoiced in finally getting rid of their biggest problem.
Of course, they should have known the problems wouldn't be over for good.
I know it was a fast defeat, but like I said there's more trouble in the future to come.
I decided to have Sparrow Fur defeat One Eye and give her more character since I always focus more on her brothers' personalities.
