Ayaka blankly looked at the board as she contemplated in her thoughts. 'What is this feeling? I know I've felt this way - was it when I woke up earlier this morning?' Ayaka looks at her lap, the location of where the Delusion is.
"Kamisato?"
'I shouldn't have used this Delusion. I would've never done anything to risk the existence of it and reveal myself to anyone. The repercussions of this should have dissuaded me, yet something is telling me to use it - like a whisper behind my back.'
"Kamisato?"
'Whenever I see this Delusion, I keep wanting to do better. Is that what I truly feel? Or is it something else? I can't keep myself in the dark anymore, I need to know more.'
"Kamisato!"
"Ah, yes?!" her voice had a hint of alarm. Ayaka took one look at the English sentences in front. "It's number 4."
Present Mic stared at Ayaka seemingly answering the right answer even if her head was up in the clouds. "That's correct! But leave the sleeping for later, let's get crazy and wake up!"
No one responded.
"Man, cold as usual. Anyways onto the next part-" Present Mic went back to teaching his English lesson.
Izuku had seen Ayaka's unusual behavior. Ever since they met back up from the quirk apprehension test, Izuku saw Ayaka with her usual friendly face.
But something was wrong, Ayaka herself didn't show any signs of it up until now but Izuku felt something was going on.
'Is something worrying Kamisato? After she got called by Sir Aizawa, she's been like that. I'll talk to her during lunch about it.'
Lunch came soon enough, Ayaka had almost blanked out by a majority of the lessons but she had taken in enough notes to study for later.
Ayaka looked for her friends - her tray already filled with food, courtesy of the Cook Hero; Lunch Rush. She darts her eyes around and sees Izuku, Tenya, and Ochaco in one spot - with others from Class - 1A scattered around.
She was about to head to their seat before she sees both Shoto and Katsuki sitting alone in their own corners of the cafeteria.
Ayaka approached the table Izuku was at. "I'll get back to you soon, Midoriya. I have something to do something first. I'm sorry to leave you, I'll eat with you soon."
"Wait! Kamisato, I still have to ask you about-" Ayaka was already walking towards another part of the cafeteria. "-and she's gone. Haaaaah."
Tenya looks up from eating his food. "What seems to be the problem, Midoriya? Having trouble with the class?"
"No, it's not that. It's just that I'm worried for Kamisato."
Tenya pauses, "Really? I didn't see anything wrong with her. She's been attentive in class, though now that you brought it up - I recall her having trouble responding."
"That's what she does, Iida. There's something wrong with her and she's trying to keep it behind a facade. I noticed after our quirk assessment test, Kamisato has something in her mind. I tried to talk to her before we started class."
"Are you sure you're not just assuming? I believe Kamisato should have the freedom in choosing what troubles to share. It's her business and she wants to keep it to herself."
"Iida, giving help that's not asked for is what makes a true Hero. I won't let anyone with a problem go by without helping especially if they're a friend."
Ayaka headed first for Katsuki, she was still worried about the reality that Izuku now had a Quirk. "Kirishima?"
To her surprise, Kirishima was in front of her waving his hand while holding his tray. "Sup! You gonna try taming Bakugo? I saw you heading to him with a serious face."
"Oh, I'm not sure I'm going to tame him as you say. A talk would be more accurate."
Mina joins in with her own tray full of food. "Don't take anything he says seriously, Kamisato. But that is odd of you - trying to talk to Bakugo of all people."
"It's just something I need to do," Ayaka told them.
"Well, can I have your number then? You told Jiro to send you your picture, we want to add you to a group chat with all of the Class-1A girls too."
"Right, I completely forgot, I'm sorry for my mistake."
"It's nothing too bad! Here lend me your phone." Ayaka does so and reaches for her pockets to give Mina the phone. "I'll see you later, Kamisato. Hope Bakugo doesn't bite!"
She gave a small wave. "Kirishima? Are you not going with Ashido?"
"Well, I do need to keep the guy some company. It's my job as a man! Didn't want to let him go alone in this class."
Ayaka was impressed at his commitment. "How noble, you're welcome to join me in trying to talk to him."
"Sounds good!"
They inch closer and closer to Katsuki who somehow kept his perpetually scowling face while eating food. He hears the people approaching him as he kept his face focused on the food he was eating.
"Get out of my space before I make you."
"Woah, man! No need to be angry while eating, you'll ruin your appetite."
They started to seat just in front of him at the same table. Eijiro started to eat as if Katsuki wasn't there actively glaring at him.
"It was ruined the moment you walked here." He looks over at Ayaka. "Why are you here?"
Eijiro decided he could take the risk. "Hey now dude, we just wanted to see how our pomeranian is doing. You seemed a bit angry for the first day."
Katsuki didn't take it lightly as he stood from his seat "What did you just call me?! I'll show you angry when I blow your face off!"
Another familiar face shows from another table. "I didn't think you could go any angrier. He's right you know? You probably got that hair from being so angry."
"Huh?! If you're going to say something say it to me straight, Plain Face!"
Hanta Sero exaggerates putting his hand over his forehead. "Ouch, my pride is in shambles. At least I'm not the one with anger issues the size of your ego."
"You bastard!"
Both Hanta and Eijiro chuckle.
Ayaka decides to enter the conversation. "Bakugo, it's good that you're making friends. I know you must be lonely, at least you're trying now."
"Where'd you get that idea from, Princess? I don't need any friends!" Katsuki saw everyone sitting near his table. "Will you people stop going around on my table?!"
"Wow, Kirishima - you got the curry too? It's good, right? I can't believe we get to eat like this every day."
"Yeah! U.A. is going to be so exciting!" He responds.
"Don't fucking ignore me!"
Another person gets to the table, it was one of the other boys in class. "Woah, so it WAS you guys! You should really keep it down, everyone's talking about Bakugo here."
"Denki Kaminari, right? I didn't see you use your Quirk that much except for making the gripping machine cause an error." Kirishima mentioned.
Denki sits at the table as well, to the dismay and rage of Katsuki. "Not really getting the chance to use my Quirk. I can only discharge it around me but it's great nonetheless! But man, Yaoyozoru's is really impressive."
Katsuki somehow redirected his anger. "You all call that impressive?! I can beat everyone here by a long shot! Ponytail might have some gimmicks up her sleeve but it won't help her when I fight!"
"You can keep telling yourself that, we didn't get to use much of our Quirks in some of the tests but you definitely can't get through my Hardening!"
"Is that a challenge, Shitty Hair?!"
Hanta offered his opinion. "Well, if we're talking about a challenge then maybe Kamisato could beat you. Wasn't she the one who matched you in Villain points?"
"Yeah! Kamisato, you were also really amazing during that race with Todoroki! It was so damn manly of you, the way you responded to Mr. Aizawa was so cool!" Kirishima adds.
"It was nothing much, I gave it my all to be a good opponent and classmate. I hoped we all could grow if we could challenge each other." She directed her next statement to Katsuki. "If we get the chance to show what we can do - I will be glad to have another rematch if you would like."
Katsuki tones his arrogance down slightly. "Tch… That was just a fluke, I won't guarantee another chance for you, you hear that!?"
"Say, now that we're here. Why did you come up to Bakugo of all people, Kamisato? No offense Bakugo." Denki asks.
"Huh? What the hell does that mean dumbass?!" Katsuki comments.
Ayaka answers with a smile. "I just wanted for us to be a class together, people can get misunderstood at times and I feel like everyone deserves a chance to be with one another. It's the first day but I hope we can all get along, okay?"
"…"
"Holy crap, I think my heart just skipped a beat."
"Keep your shitty heartthrobs to yourself dumbass!" Katsuki turns from Denki to Ayaka. "I don't know what you're playing at Princess. I'll make sure you won't look down on me again!"
Ayaka stood up, her unfinished meal still steaming. "Then let's do our best. I'm sure Midoriya would love to hear that."
"What?! That moron Deku doesn't mean anything. I don't care what he thinks!"
"You'll be surprised how much you actually do once you get to see how much he worked hard, Bakugo."
Katuski stared at her like she was crazy. "Whatever."
"You're leaving already?" Eijiro asks.
"I need to get to one of our other lone students. I need to go through each of them while I still can." She responds.
"Man, imagine being called a loner by a pretty girl. Sucks to be you huh Bakugo?" Denki taunts.
"All right! That's enough from you! Get over here, you little bastard!" He started to reach for Denki across the table.
"Wait, calm down!" He squealed out from the massive change in aggression. "No, not the face! I didn't even get to pick up girls yet!"
Ayaka left the newly formed quartet of boys on their table with a suspiciously girly scream that was followed by a small explosion echoing behind her.
She looked for Shoto next, she recalls where she saw him and spots him right on the edge alone while eating cold soba.
"Hello, Todoroki."
He takes one look before going back to his soba as he doesn't respond.
"Can I sit with you?" Ayaka asked.
Shoto doesn't say anything but Ayaka obliges anyways. She takes a seat just in front and continues her unfinished meal.
"Are you hiding something from me?" Shoto suddenly questions.
Ayaka didn't expect him to be so blunt about her abilities. "What do you mean?"
"Back when we were doing the tests, specifically the ball throw. I was better in every way - yet I went below yours. How?"
Ayaka went silent, she couldn't exactly try to say it was a secret. She didn't think Shoto would accept that kind of reasoning.
"So you won't tell." Ayaka opened her mouth to ask how he came to that conclusion but gets interrupted. "No matter - I'll find out and beat you, Kamisato."
Shoto finished his meal abruptly and stood up to leave. Ayaka didn't even get to an actual conversation before Shoto wanted to leave.
She needed to say something to keep him talking, Ayaka suddenly remembers Aizawa mentioning Shoto not using his fire. "Then, why didn't you use your fire? You could've beaten me back at that race if you used it."
Shoto stood rigid as his face forms a frown. "Don't talk to me about my fire. I'll never use it as long as I live."
"Why? If you want to know more about how I did the ball throw then I propose an accord. If you tell me why then I can tell you how I did my throw."
Shoto just stared, his mismatched eyes meeting Ayaka's own. It was a tense feeling but Ayaka didn't break her gaze.
"No."
Shoto then scurried his way away from the scene. Leaving Ayaka dumbfounded at the short answer.
"That went horribly." She mentions to herself.
Ayaka looked at her tray still with unfinished food. 'I'll go back to Midoriya. He was asking for me before I left, I wonder what he wants?'
Midoriya was going over the lessons from earlier this morning. He went through most of the required courses with Tenya and Ochaco.
Izuku leaned in towards Ochaco's side as he points to her notebook. "Wouldn't it make more sense to do this instead? I think it would be faster."
Ochaco grabs her head like she had achieved enlightenment. She stood up from her seat and closed in on Izuku's face.
"Ah! You're right, Deku! You should tutor us, even if it's the first day - you already have notes on our classes! To be honest I was completely lost."
"I- It's not much, Uraraka!" Izuku recoiled back from the sudden movement. 'Why is she so close?! Even Kamisato doesn't do that much invasion of space when we study!'
"Indeed, Midoriya!" Tenya starts to chop at the air. "We could set up a study group, it would be extremely beneficial to our academics!"
Izuku was starting to break back into his introverted state. A few praises he could handle but constant praise was going to threaten his integrity as a normal person.
"Ah! Kamisato! You're back!" He decided to distract himself. "I need to talk to you about something!"
"Really? I would love to converse for a while. We can talk while I finish my meal." She then sat down next to Izuku.
"Kamisato! I heard about Midoriya's concerns." Tenya then repeats his hand-chopping. "I believe you can keep your problems to yourself, I do concede that people need help but if the problem is too much for you to share then it's fine if you don't tell us!"
Ayaka was surprised. 'Problems? Oh… Midoriya must have noticed. I should've done better at hiding it. Midoriya shouldn't be involved in this.'
"I'm fine, Midoriya. I was just exhausted from the quirk apprehension test. It's nothing a good rest can fix."
"See Midoriya! You were just overthinking it. We did see Kamisato getting tired from her 50-meter dash with Todoroki!"
Izuku nodded, it was a possible reason for Ayaka to be acting that way. "Alright, I was just worried."
*PING!*
"Sorry about that, it's a message." Ayaka takes out her phone.
"A message?" Izuku recalled Ayaka only having 2 numbers on her phone. "I didn't know the class already had a group chat," Izuku concluded.
Ochaco shows her own phone from across the table. "Actually, Kamisato probably got the message from one of the girls. The group chat was talking about looking for your phone number. I'm also part of it, see?"
"That's right, I got the chance to join one with all the girls. I don't believe there's a group chat for the whole class yet." Ayaka replied.
Ayaka starts to look at the notification as she unlocks her phone. 'What are they talking about I wonder? Oh, it's just a private message from Jiro.' She opens it as she eats her food.
Ayaka got a glimpse of what was behind her - back during their talk in the changing room with the others saw a tattoo yet Ayaka herself doesn't recall anything of the sort.
True to everyone's word back then, there was a massive tattoo on her back. It was something she recognizes well and it was an eerie revelation.
'That's… by the Archons.'
Her hand shook but didn't panic. It was of surprise and awe but mostly worry.
'Grus Nivis. But how?'
Her constellation was on her back, in every meaning of the phrase. Every detail from the wings of the crane to the symbol of Cryo on top.
She finally realized what her Quirk really was. Ayaka wasn't sure but now she had something to think about.
'It wasn't that I didn't have a Vision or that I had a Quirk. My Vision was there the whole time but is this truly what it is?'
Ayaka had more questions than answers. It was getting more confusing, then suddenly like a rush of blood. Parts of her memories resurfaced as she kept massaging her temples.
'Mona… I believe the Traveler and I talked to this person for something - but what? I can't remember more than this…'
But Ayaka did remember something, though it was cryptic to her since she didn't know more.
'Stella Fortuna… Destiny… the Divine… what do these mean? I want to know more. Is this something related to how I came here? Why was my Vision turned into - this? Why is my constellation so important?'
'In the skies was a number of stars, a lot consider it no more than the distant suns - but in Teyvat it had another meaning.' She reasoned to herself.
"Kamisato?"
'Constellations not only existed as a star but were tied to the Vision holders in Teyvat, but what does it mean for someone like me?' She starts to get a headache.
"Kamisato?"
Ayaka looks at the time. 'I'm going to be late. I'll have to get back to Yokohama after this. If asking around during the night is what it's going to take then I will gladly do so.'
"Kamisato!"
"Heh?" she gets snapped back to reality. She looks around at the others staring at her.
Tenya was the first to point out her behavior. "You've been eating nothing for the last minute or so. Your plate is already empty but you keep trying to eat."
"Kamisato, is something wrong?" Ochaco asks.
"It's nothing, just tired as I said."
"Kamisato? What are you looking at anyways?" Ochaco asks before remembering what happened in the changing rooms. "Oh! Right - I forgot you asked for that picture as well. Is something wrong with it?"
"It's an image? What are you guys talking about-" Izuku caught the sight of the picture. "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH-" Izuku screamed out with an almost ear-shattering scream as if he was about to die.
Ayaka closes her phone as fast as she could. "Midoriya! I'm so sorry you had to see that!"
"Kamisato! Wha- wha- wha- wha-" Izuku became a broken recorder as he stuttered. "Why was that sent to you, Kamisato?! I mean- sorry! I didn't mean to peep on it!"
"Midoriya, it's okay. It was my fault, to begin with. If anything, please forget about this whole situation. That was not meant for you to see."
"I didn't know you were the type to get something like that! Why were you-" Izuku suddenly enters cardiac arrest from just remembering what he saw.
*THUD!*
"Deku?!" Ochaco screamed out. She then realized what might have happened.
"What happened to Midoriya!" Tenya starts robotically panicking. "Kamisato? What did he see!"
"Nothing! Ahem - It's nothing to worry about Iida. Midoriya is just overreacting."
It was the first time she had to break her calm persona. It was not that bad in hindsight, an exposed back definitely didn't mean anything much.
This was Izuku and Ayaka though; Izuku being the most distraught over it while Ayaka was ashamed of herself - a lady shouldn't show that much skin, she told herself.
"Calm down, Midoriya. I apologize for alarming you but you shouldn't really take it too far. It was an honest mistake on my part so, please relax." Ayaka shook Izuku's unmoving body. "Midoriya?"
Tenya rushed to Izuku's side. He gasps loudly before announcing. "Oh No! Midoriya is dead!" he checks closer. "Wait, no - he's just unconscious! I must take him to the nurse's office!"
Without a second more to speak, Tenya cradles an unconscious Izuku in his arms and starts to run outside.
*DING!*
Ayaka relaxes, surprisingly quick but she tenses up back again as her personally set school alarm starts to ring, meaning the end of her lunch.
"Well, there goes Deku and Iida. We need to head back. Ehe- it's the first day and it's been so wild." Ochaco notices Ayaka still staring at her phone with a serious face on. "Kamisato? Are you really alright? I know it's probably embarrassing to expose that image but don't let it get to your head okay?"
"I'm fine. It's not that serious, I understand I may have done something wrong because of that but he's still our friend at the end of the day."
"If you say so, let's head back - I can't wait for All Might's class!"
Ayaka ran to the classroom after Izuku's ungraceful exit. Reaching the classroom was easy enough, she opens the door and went for her seat with everyone already seated doing their own thing except for Tenya and Izuku who were not present.
The next class came soon after - Mathematics, which was taught by the Pro Hero Ectoplasm. He soon notices the absence of some of the students.
"Where are Midoriya and Iida? Class is already starting, I hope they know that it's the first day." Ectoplasm asked.
The door suddenly slams open with Tenya still cradling Izuku in his arms. "Sir! I am sorry we are late but it is for a good reason! Midoriya has suffered a heart attack!"
Ectoplasm stared at Izuku who was still out cold in Tenya's arms. He sighed after noticing. "It's the first day and you already visited Recovery Girl? Anyways, get seated - I'll introduce myself to you all first before we proceed."
The next hours were filled with excitement and boredom for others. Notably, the others like Denki or Mina fell asleep as soon as the teacher turned his back before waking up to look like they were listening.
This time though, it was now Hero Basics and everyone was excited about it. All Might was outside the hall, he breathes in hard before he slams the door open.
"I am... normally entering from the door!"
Loud gasps and mentions of astonishment were heard throughout the classroom with each of the students having something to say about All Might's glorious past and current achievements.
All Might goes in front of the table with his usual stance as he introduces his class. "I will be teaching Hero Basics. To lay your foundation, all types of training will be done. It has the most units too."
All Might poses dramatically. "Today, we'll start with this! Battle Training!"
"Battle!" Katsuki screams.
"Battle?!" Izuku reacts, waking up from his temporary unconsciousness the moment his brain comprehended what All Might said.
"Along with that... is this!" Cases numbered by the class open from the side. "The costumes were made according to your requests and the Quirk registration you sent in. Once you change, meet me at Ground Beta."
"Yes!" They all answered.
Ayaka nervously looked at her own costume case, she thought it was going to be her own combat outfit since it was sufficient for her.
When she sent her detailed designs and made All Might look over them, he said to leave it up to the school's delegated company to handle everything else apart from the appearance.
She opened the case and saw the changes made. Instead of her old armor, it was switched to a more modernized material from her arm guards to the chest plate and even the armor on her skirt.
It was all changed to a combination of kevlar, carbon fiber, or lightweight polyethylene armor plates rated to withstand rifle rounds, mostly on her chest and skirt which was now covering everything from the front.
Her arm guards were now also upgraded to a better material, of course, everything else was rated to withstand some degree of flame, water, and any kind of environmental damage that the wearer could expect in the line of duty.
Pouches were now present on the back of her hips, replacing the massive bow for something more usable. There were even more spaces for things like flashlights, firestarters, medkits, flares, and almost everything Ayaka needed in a situation present on the front and some strapped to her leg.
More importantly, was the inclusion of an unassuming slot inside her arm guards that could house the Anemo Delusion. At first, she didn't want to include it but having it on her all the time than laying it out in the open was better.
All Might decided to help her out considering her situation of not having parents. Legally All Might was technically her father so he did pay for the fees.
Her costume was still her old Inazuman attire overall but could function practically while still acting as a costume to stand out.
Ayaka walked with the others to a tunnel, the light from the end shone brightly as they all saw All Might in front with the massive recreation of a city around them.
"Starting from the looks is also important, boys and girls. Be aware that from today, you are Heroes. You all look great, guys! You're so cool! Let's get started then, you zygotes!"
Ayaka looked at everyone's costume, appreciating everyone's thought-up designs. 'Everyone is so much more creative than mine, truly everyone here is meant to be the image of a hero.'
"It's time for the battle training."
"Mr. All Might - We used this center for the exam, so will it be a city battle again?" Tenya asked.
"Nope, we'll go two steps ahead. Most Villain battles you see are from the outside. But in truth, Villains are more present indoors than outdoors. Anything from shady dealings, ruthless crimes, and beyond are the ones we Heroes have to deal with. They stay in the dark so that we cannot observe clearly."
All Might coughs into his hand. "I'll separate you all into Hero and Villain teams. The battle will be two versus two."
"With no basic training?"
"This is to learn those basics, young Asui. This time, there are no robots to fight." he finishes.
"Is there a system to win or lose?" "Can I blow it up?" "Will you trick us like Mr. Aizawa?" "How will we be teamed?" "Isn't my cape fabulous?"
All Might grunts. "Too many questions!" he took out his cheat sheet he prepared beforehand. "Listen up-"
All Might began to explain the rules and what the objectives were. Two teams are formed with the Villains required to protect a weapon while the Heroes must destroy the weapon or capture the Villains. The villains, on the other hand, can capture the heroes or let the timer run out by defending the weapon.
The lots are chosen randomly as the teams are organized and placed into boxes for Villains and Heroes.
"Let's start now!"
Team A: Rikido Sato, Tsuyu Asui
Team B: Shoto Todoroki, Momo Yaoyorozu
Team C: Yuga Aoyama, Hanta Sero
Team D: Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo
Team E: Fumikage Tokoyami, Eijiro Kirishima
Team F: Toru Hagakure, Kamisato Ayaka
Team G: Kyoka Jiro, Ochaco Uraraka
Team H: Denki Kamimari, Tenya Iida
Team I: Koji Koda, Mashirao Ojiro
Team J: Mina Ashido, Mezo Shoji
Izuku's first act with his new team was to scream inside himself. 'Kacchan and I?!' he looked towards Katsuki.
"Deeeeeeeeeekuuuuuuuuu!" He screamed out a ghoulish noise combined with rage. "You useless nerd!" he starts to reach for him before All Might steps in between and stopped him with a single finger.
He leaned in closer to talk in a low tone. "Young Bakugo, I know you two have a troubled history with young Midoriya but I urge you to think about your future as a Hero."
"Huh?! What do you know? This useless piece of shit can't work with anyone, especially me! Who does he think he is to team up with me?! Get me another teammate than this idiot!"
"Young Bakugo." All Might's tone became harsher. "I do not know anything about you. I believe inside that you are a Hero, a great one at that - but if you are going to continue with this then remember, it is you who can only judge yourself for your mistake, make sure this is not one of them. See for yourself and talk with Midoriya."
Katsuki bore holes at Izuku from just his sight, the meek boy was reentering Izuku but he stood his own with the same determination from the ball throw.
"Tch. Fuck off." Katsuki forcefully moves away. Katsuki looked at his childhood idol before clicking his tongue. "I won't accept this loser as my ally, the moment he turns his back to me I'm treating him like another filthy Villain."
'Scary.' everyone thought.
Ayaka worriedly looked at the two. 'It looks to be a bad situation but if this exercise could let them interact more with each other then perhaps their relationship could see better. They need a bit of push to do so, maybe Bakugo would see Iuzku more than what he was before.'
"Ehem, well let's move on. The first competitors are... Team F and D!"
'Eh?' Izuku's mind did a 180.
"Team F are the Villains while Team D are the heroes! The rest will go to the monitor room."
"Yes!" they all answered as they moved to another building.
Izuku tried to speak to Katsuki but was only met with an audible growl. Izuku needed to persevere the whole way. 'Help.' he pleaded to himself.
Ayaka placed a hand over his shoulder. "Just so you know Midoriya. I won't hold back, it's for both you and Bakugo. Let's have a good one."
Izuku was practically soaked in sweat at this point. 'Fight Kamisato and have Kacchan as a partner. Gahhhhhhhhhhh!'
