Ayaka walked along the third floor of the building. They had a few minutes to prepare for the oncoming battle. She looks at the blueprints and figures out a location to place the mock weapon.
After a while of briefing and explanation by All Might, the students of Class - 1A knew what to do. Ayaka had a plan of action to both try and win while trying to talk to Katsuki.
"Kamisato! It's great that we're teammates, I want to let you know that I was inspired by your talk with Sir Aizawa during the quirk assessment test. I'll have to take this seriously too!"
Toru Hagakure's costume consists of gloves and boots which she begins to take off. Her Quirk is Invisibility and just as the name implies, she becomes invisible apart from her clothes.
Ayaka appreciates the commitment the girl held. "While I do see your enthusiasm, I implore you to keep your shoes on. I don't want to unnecessarily injure you if possible. Unlike Todoroki, I don't have a way to unfreeze you when your skin when it gets affected by ice."
Earlier during the quirk assessment test, Shoto and Ayaka displayed their monumental strength by creating icebergs during the 50-meter dash. Everyone somewhat knew about the ability of their Quirks.
Toru removes her gloves but avoids taking away her boots. "Oh! That does seem inconvenient, what do you plan on doing?"
"I'll explain during the time I set it up. We only have a few minutes to formulate a plan until the Heroes come. In the meantime, why don't you try out as a Villain?" Ayaka suggests.
"Try out as a Villain? What do you mean by that?" Toru questioned.
"This exercise is supposed to be a reenactment right? If I were to put myself in the position of a Villain, then Midoriya and Bakugo would receive the best understanding for the future since they would experience a true Villain encounter."
Toru's mind became clear. "That makes sense!" She shouted. "Alright, I'll try acting like a Villain." Toru coughs and clears her throat, trying to make herself sound intimidating. "Fear me and my evildoings, Heroes!"
Ayaka assures Toru's acting. "You're doing great Hagakure. Let's head down and let you in on what I was thinking about."
Outside...
Izuku musters up the courage to talk to Katsuki, after a minute of just waiting he finally spoke. "Kacchan-"
"Don't talk to me, Deku." Katsuki instantaneously replied.
"But Kacchan, we need to plan for this - Kamisato would know how to fight against us. She must have already thought about how to combat our weaknesses. I believe trying to bypass her and going for the bomb would be a better choice-"
"Didn't I tell you to shut up?!" He gets within a distance of Izuku.
"We need to have a solid strategy! Kamisato is strong- Agh!"
Katsuki punches hard on Izuku's arm, knocking him to the side as Izuku starts to soothe the pain.
"I'll blow your damn face off! Do you think I don't know that already?! Stop trying to make me out to be a coward! I'll fight her even if I'm at a disadvantage! If you prefer running away then fine by me. None of that matters if I'm not going to fight."
Izuku stands up in defiance. "That's exactly what Kamisato wants! How are you going to fight her without a plan?! We need to work together."
Katsuki's hands start to sizzle from rage. "Work together? I'd rather die than admit I need your help again! Don't you think you've done enough to humiliate me?!"
"Humiliate you? I never-"
"YOU DID! You've done it over and over again all this time! Why is such a weakling like you in this class? I never asked for your help but like a cockroach, you keep coming back!"
"I am not a weakling!"
"What did you say? You? Not a weakling? That's a bigger joke than whatever effort you put in trying to get here. Especially that horseshit of a power you kept to yourself. Why only now huh? Why after that day did you get a Quirk?!"
"No, it's not like that. Someone told me that I-"
"That you deserve to be a hero?! I've heard it enough times on my own! Do you think that that damn phrase isn't said for every extra in this damn school?!"
"From that Half and Half bastard, to Ponytail, and Princess! Every single one of them had that bullshit said to them at one point. I've seen what they can do! So what makes you say you are a part of that, Deku?!"
Katsuki turned away from Izuku and walked to the entrance of the building. "I'll show everyone in U.A. that I am better than those and especially you! You're beneath me! That's why I don't need your damn help, I can fight!"
The timer goes down to zero, and the end of their planning is over. Katsuki is further inside the building with audible stomps echoing inside.
Izuku stared from behind with his face distorted to worry. He didn't know what to do, Izuku told himself that they would end up fighting each other if he continued to pester Katsuki.
"Kacchan..."
Izuku began to follow far behind anyways but in a separate route than Katsuki.
A while later…
Katsuki walked alone on the second floor, he had spent his time impatiently looking for the bomb on the first floor, just in case.
He went up to the second floor and had his vigilance turned up during his ascent. He doesn't feel the cold as he predicted. 'Did Frosty not use her Quirk? Who does she think she is?!'
Ayaka didn't use her flash freeze like before to cover an area in frost. Katuski took it as an insult while he searched the floor.
Katsuki arrives at the foot of the stairs and finally sees his target, his sweat was still active and he could use his Quirk to the fullest.
*CLINK!*
Ayaka's Mistsplitter tapped on the ground, her sheathe was off to her side as she stared at Katsuki who replied by smiling with a crazed bloodthirsty look.
"So you have arrived, Hero," Ayaka stated.
Her demeanor hasn't changed but her tone was more fitting of a cold and calculative Villain. An act that she conjured with Toru while they planned.
"Stop playing around, Frosty. Show me what you did in the Quirk assessment and the exam! Why didn't you do it the moment the battle started?!"
Katsuki reacts with vigor, not wasting any time to launch himself forward and swing with a right hook. "Die!"
Ayaka reacts, using her ice to propel herself to the opposite side of Katsuki's telegraphed right hook. She used the katana's handle to swing for Katsuki's jaw.
"Gah! Damn!" Katsuki screamed out. He held his impacted jaw with his gloved hand.
"Pretentious! You will fall here, foolish Hero." Ayaka taunted, intending to provoke Katsuki's emotional state.
Katsuki didn't attack straight away after the obvious attempt to make him attack. He had learned how much he needed to keep his decision-making in check. Despite his self-control, he still would eventually go over the breaking point.
"Don't look down on me, Princess!"
Katsuki pushes himself upward while propelling himself forward. He follows up with consecutive explosions to make Ayaka confused about where he is before Katsuki brought out his right hand.
Ayaka used her ice to glide to the side while simultaneously using her ice to create a wall that gets broken apart by the explosion that rocked the entire building.
Shards of ice splintered and were sent flying before disappearing from the heat of the large explosion. The speed was impressive but Ayaka was faster at reacting and seeing the smallest movements as an attack.
Ayaka didn't break a sweat as she kept her stance strong while observing Katsuki carefully. Learning of his patterns and using her knowledge of dodging.
Katsuki recovers from his attack as he glares at Ayaka. "Haaaah... Why haven't you used it yet?! I know you can make everything here into ice, I don't need your mercy! I can defeat you at your best!"
Ayaka could have easily enveloped at least a single floor with ice by now. It was going to be a very difficult fight for Katsuki if she did but Ayaka felt like she needed to send a message.
"I do not see the need to use it, without your ally - you are nothing but a pest waiting to get exterminated, Hero. When I see it as worthwhile for me to use my ice then show me."
That statement made Katsuki respond with even more anger. "I told you to not look down on me!" Katsuki huffs before bringing his gauntlet up from his side. "I'll show you worthwhile, Princess."
A voice suddenly announced. "Bakugo, stop that attack!"
*CLICK!*
The sweat stored up in his gauntlets started to expand into a focused spot at the front. Nitroglycerin activate and unleashed a torrent of explosion towards Ayaka. She stared at the inferno before whispering to herself. "Senho."
*BOOM!*
Katuski scorched the entire room, the explosion ripped inside the building. Dozens of debris flew outwards as the array of orange and red filled the entire 2nd floor.
A chain of explosions kept anyone near deaf from the sound, Katsuki arrogantly smiled at his attack. It was a massive explosion, anyone could be killed but as the smoke cleared - Ayaka was nowhere to be found. Only a mist of ice is present on the side.
"What?!"
Without warning, the mist of ice traveled from the ground all the way to Katsuki. He quickly reacted by pointing his hand to the mist of ice.
However, it was too late - Ayaka leaped out, seemingly from nowhere, and swung the blunt side of her katana to Katsuki's left side.
His ribcage felt the pressure from the swing, it was painful - he could discern where his ribs pushed in. His lungs felt heavy, Katsuki coughed out from the sudden impact as he gets sent to the floor.
"Argh!" He let out a pained growl.
Ayaka sheathes her sword, not even using the sharp end to fight. "My Quirk is Cryothermia, I can produce ice from anywhere and also become ice. Right now, there is no way for you to combat me unless you could get me out of my Senho state. Face it, Hero. You will never defeat me, without anyone else you are nothing."
Katsuki ignored the lung-crushing pain as he breathed. He stood up with his hands sweating even more.
"Stop telling me to get help from Deku! I would rather fight and lose than win with his help! I want- No, I need to show that I am better, bringing that loser into this will just be worthless to me!"
He lunges to the side as a feint before surging over Ayaka with a secondary explosion. He aims at her back before seeing a wall of ice interrupt his path.
"Gah!" Katsuki feels a thrust to his chest, Ayaka uses her sheathed sword to knock Katsuki to the ceiling before kicking him straight to the face as he falls.
Katsuki rebalances himself in the air and unleashes another explosion right in front of Ayaka.
Ayaka steps away with her Senho state and appears behind Katsuki and freezes the floor. Katuski reacts fast, using his explosions to lift him upwards before creating another explosion.
He closes in on the floor with rage undimmed, he misses his strike as Ayaka knocks his hand away with her sword. She sidesteps away and blocks herself off with ice.
The explosion hits the ground, cratering a sizeable hole as Katsuki assumes another stance but not before buckling his knees - feeling the pain from the earlier strikes.
'How is that so damn painful! It's just the blunt side of her sword! I need to bait her into attacking so she can't disappear on me while she commits an attack.'
But Ayaka knew she was winning, she didn't need to advance or attack in any way. The timer was on her side and it was ticking down while she defended.
It was like a short staring contest, Katsuki showing blindspots on purpose to try and make Ayaka do the first attack but every time he does, Ayaka doesn't take it.
Katsuki had no time left, he would try speeding up to even faster speeds. He began his plan and acted it out into motion. He blasted backward before preparing to use his explosion to weave in different directions.
Ayaka darts her eyes around as Katuski charges at her with almost blinding speeds, it could have worked too. His speeds were much faster, the chain of constant explosions made him accelerate at a quick speed.
It wasn't enough, Ayaka blindly dashes backward as Katsuki showed up on her blindspot behind her. Katsuki overshoots with his hands aiming for a quick blow.
Ayaka went for a charged strike, a glow encased her hand as she sheathes and unsheathes her sword in a rapid movement. It only took a second for Katsuki to feel every pain imaginable over his body.
"…Shit! Damn it, damn it, damn it!" Katsuki lies on the ground, his knees, face, shoulders, forearms, and hands were all struck in a single moment before he falls to the ground with Ayaka looming over him with her sword drawn.
"Do you feel that struggle? Is that really what you want when you become a Hero? A failure? Admit it, you are helpless just like back then and you will always be unless you change."
The words stung like venom, it almost felt like Katsuki's heart was just stabbed straight through. Ayaka and Izuku were the ones to save him and he knew well what those words meant.
"You... I fucking know alright!" His eyes start to glisten.
Ayaka changes her serious stance and tone - noticing the slight look of distraught on Katsuki's face. "…what? I'm sorry Bakugo, I took it too far." She started to apologize.
"Shut up! You're fucking right! When that bastard saved me I felt so damn hopeless! I got saved by an idiot that couldn't even fight back! He was behind me all this time but even if I was stronger - his scrawny ass was always there! Then all of a sudden he has a Quirk! Why, why, why, why, WHY?!"
Katsuki started to scratch at the floor, his hands thankfully were gloved but he kept on punching the floor in frustration.
"What's with your obsession with being better, Bakugo?" Ayaka asked with her sword now pointing away.
"That's because I am! I'm supposed to be, then I saw that shit you did back at the exam and that other ice bastard! I thought... I thought I couldn't even beat any of you! I couldn't even make you use that freeze of yours! I'm- I'm so damn weak!"
The last few sentences were filled with despair, his voice started to crack from all the feelings he was locking up under anger.
Katsuki felt horrible, never in his life was he so thoroughly defeated. It was hopeless to him, in truth - he saw the strength everyone showcased and felt left behind. All his insecurities and fears were overshadowing his arrogance.
"Just win already... I... give... up." He stutters out.
*BOOM!*
"Kacchan, you idiot!" Izuku finally found out what Katsuki was thinking. Never could they hold a proper conversation, Izuku felt bad that he was intentionally letting Katsuki fight alone but now Izuku had purpose instilled in him.
Izuku used OFA to boost one of his feet, he sprinted in a single dash. Surprising Ayaka since she was concerned with Katsuki and the fact that she might have emotionally damaged him.
Katsuki struggled while Izuku kept his childhood friend close. They get to another side of the building and Katsuki kept physically hurting Izuku along the way. "Just let go of me, Deku! I don't need your help!"
Katsuki gets put to the ground as gently as Izuku could as he prepared to pour out his response to what he heard from Katsuki.
"Listen! I've always admired you! Back when we were kids I always looked up to you because you were a hero that didn't give up! Whenever I saw you with your leadership, I always followed you because I thought you were most like All Might!"
Katsuki felt his scowl soften. But he still kept his constant glare on Izuku. His brain was still trying to comprehend what Izuku said but it was beginning to make sense.
"We liked All Might together, so don't tell me you'd give up! I always wanted to be like you even without a Quirk! So stop being an idiot and fight! If you do want to face her, then I'll be with you."
Katsuki bit his lip, he definitely remembered saying that he wanted to be the no. 1 hero. Yet here he was, on the verge of crying like a weakling he promised himself not to be.
He clenched his fists and begrudgingly accepted what he needed to do.
"Right now I can't tell you why, Kacchan - but I'll tell you eventually about my borrowed power!" Izuku added,
"...Borrowed power?" He asked.
"Kacchan, I'll tell you-"
"Shut up, I don't care anymore..." Katsuki had heard enough, he wasn't going to give up. He admitted to himself that he couldn't win but Izuku was right, he was a fool for trying to give up.
He stood up despite all the pain surrounding his body. He nudged Izuku aside as he stepped out with a limp. "Just... don't get in my way."
"Come out wherever you are, Heroes. The weapon is ours and you won't get past me." Ayaka returned to her act.
Katsuki shows up far away from where the stairs were, Ayaka narrows her eyes - trying to figure out what they were planning. 'Are they going to fight me at the same time? I can't see where Midoriya is so they must have something planned. I'm going to play defense there are only a few minutes left.'
"Ah, Hero. I didn't think you'd return after giving up." She taunts.
Katsuki goes for an explosive dash toward Ayaka, Katsuki adjusts his position by controlling where he was mid-air with his other hand.
"Die!" He completely demolishes the pillar that was next to Ayaka. She dodges the same way she did earlier as she brings out her katana.
As soon as Katsuki saw her reach for the handle, he unleashed another ear-ringing explosion in front of himself, retreating as he does so.
'Midoriya must have told him how much weaker I am at range. But he's doing the same thing by risking getting closer to me. Are they trying to distract me, I wonder?'
"Flash Freeze!"
She focuses her ice and encases the entire floor with ice, it grew among the walls, and the ceiling and reached to the edges of the building.
Katsuki breathes out heavily while still hissing from his injuries still present from last time.
"Whatever you are planning, Heroes. It won't work, it's only a matter of time before we have our success."
Katsuki used the remaining sweat in his palms to go for one last move. He rotates his arms, detonating them in consecutive miniature explosions before his right palm glows orange for a powerful last strike.
"The same move won't work again, Heroes!" Ayaka was immersed in her role as a Villain.
"Don't think you have won yet, Kamisato!"
From the side, Izuku had snuck up from Ayaka. Midoriya lunges, the other leg glowing. Izuku used another leg to launch himself towards Ayaka which breaks his legs completely.
"Smash!"
Ayaka expected something like this, an ambush during battle was normal but she could deal with it. With her ice, she blocks Katsuki in a torrent of glaciers as she goes to Senho form to avoid Izuku's attack.
*BOOM!*
The smoke blinds the area as she slowly emerges back from the ground to see Izuku overshoot her. She observes them closer, making it harder to notice what was happening from Katsuki's seeming last attack.
Izuku who once aimed for Ayaka that drew upon her Senho state to avoid the powerful punch now sees Ayaka going into her Senho form before gritting his teeth and redirecting his arm downward.
*BOOM!*
He winces in pain, his legs broken and his arm now completely gone. The floor below thoroughly crumbles with nothing keeping anyone up on the 2nd floor.
"Kacchan!" He screams out.
"I know, dumbass!"
'The ground?'
The sound of one of Katsuki's Gauntlet rings out, she stabilizes herself before feeling her ice coming forward.
*CLICK!*
She urges the power of Cryo to swirl and enlarge, and a whirlwind of ice and snow forms as a fan conjures into her hands.
"Kamisato Art: Soumetsu!" She flicks the fan in Katsuki's direction before noticing his missing gauntlet. 'So that's how.'
During the smoke large explosion that kicked up debris from Katsuki's last attack, the entire area got clouded in that one moment.
Katsuki had thrown one of his gauntlets at a severely injured Izuku. Ayaka thought Izuku had nothing else to use after his failed attack, now she clearly sees what they planned.
'I see... Midoriya knows I can't use Senho while mid-air, using Bakugo's gauntlet would make me use a large amount of ice to protect myself but Izuku had his own to use. I won't let it go smoothly!'
"Kamisato Art: Soumetsu!" She felt her head go heavy, continuous large-scale attacks were too much for her to handle.
As her consciousness starts to fade - Ayaka sheathed out her katana, willing what remained of her focus to swing and target what she could before her sight blacked out.
*BOOM!*
The storm of ice meets with the pure explosive might of Katsuki's stored nitroglycerin. The two mix and contrast before exploding from the contact.
It was safe to say that the entire building was going to be completely demolished. Parts of the 2nd floor were now left destroyed and gaping with holes.
All of them were now sent to the 1st floor. The smoke cloud that was created only left a few to see what happened but it was clear that Ayaka had fallen unconscious from her large-scale attacks.
"Grah!" Katsuki screamed out.
Among the rubble was Katsuki clutching his legs. At the very last moment, Ayaka had managed to sever his hamstrings while freezing them with her ice.
"Kacchan?! Your legs!" He approached Katsuki to help by dragging himself.
"Nghh... Princess got to my legs and froze it, fuck." He forced himself to stand but couldn't move an inch before feeling his legs giving out. "Argh!"
Izuku rushes to his side. "Kacchan! I'll help you-"
"Idiot! Just go to the damn weapon! Don't let this get to your damn head; this doesn't mean anything, got it? When I get the chance to destroy you, I hope you're prepared. I'm going to be the best! With or without your damn Quirk!"
"You always will." He comments, to the disgust of Katsuki.
"...Piss off. I don't care anymore. Whether we win or not, I'll beat her one on one eventually, and especially you, Deku."
Izuku painstakingly stood up even with all the pain from broken bones. He smiles with a sense of accomplishment beaming. "When we do face each other, I will give my best - until then I'll get even stronger!"
*CLIP!*
The noise of handcuffs suddenly reached the ears of the two. Izuku turns around to see Toru with only her boots.
"The Villain team wins?" All Might didn't even expect that result himself.
"Eh?" Izuku had a blank look as he falls to the ground, his obliterated legs giving out.
"I've caught you, Hero!" Toru does her Villain's voice. She had been on the first floor the whole time, hiding her boots somewhere just in case Ayaka needed to use her ice on the first floor.
When they all fell, Toru snuck to Izuku's location as she cuffed him while he was talking to Katsuki. Being invisible did help in making it hard to notice when all the rubble was still around.
"Hagakure... how did you?" Izuku was in disbelief.
"...Damn nerd..." Katsuki blurts out and finally fell unconscious from all the exhaustion and injuries he had.
