All Might walked to the building, mostly reduced to rubble and barely holding on to its structural integrity. He looked for his students, 3 out of the 4 were out of commission with only Toru standing properly.
"Well, usually I'd take you all back to review but seeing as almost everyone on both the teams is either unconscious or severely injured, I'll take you back by yourself Hagakure."
The monitoring room was filled with murmurs, mostly of worry but also a hint of awe among the class.
"Everyone! Since the other members are currently in the Nurse's room, we'll begin analyzing the performances of the two teams. Let's see, who here thinks deserves to be the MVP?"
Denki shrugs, "I think it's pretty obvious that Kamisato is the MVP. Right guys?" he looks around him to see everyone agreeing.
"I thought Deku was impressive." Ochaco mentions. "Despite his relationship with Bakugo, he worked with him regardless and defeated Kamisato."
"It was manly of him. Midoriya kept trying to aid Bakugo despite him being hated but he persevered and convince him eventually - but they still lost." Eijiro added.
All Might laughs out. "Haha! All of you give good points but who here can give a comprehensive reason as to why Kamisato was the MVP of the entire round?"
"If I may sir?"
"It's no trouble at all. Go ahead, young Yaoyorozu." All Might says.
"Kamisato had a basic plan in motion; when defending - she is the team's most capable fighter, so she directly antagonized the Heroes. However, there was more to that than just relying on her pure strength. Kamisato probably knew that Hagakure won't stand a chance when in a fight against either Bakugo or Midoriya so she scrapped the idea of an ambush and applied Hagakure's Invisibility."
"That makes sense, I can see that any of the Heroes, in this case, Bakugo or Midoriya, would overpower someone like Hagakure. Even I wouldn't know if Dark Shadow could take them on." Fumikage Tokoyami added.
Momo continued. "Once she confirmed Bakugo's lone advance, she knew to keep herself on the second floor because it would put less risk on the floor where the bomb is, which was on the third floor. Notice how she was at the foot of the stairs while she waited for Hagakure's call? She anticipated Bakugo just in case he was to enter through the windows by the use of his Quirk to fly upwards."
"I didn't even notice that." Denki mentions.
"She acted her part and didn't hold back. Although, during the battle itself - she could've frozen the entire 2nd floor. If this was in a real battle with Villains they would be ruthless in not giving the Heroes a chance."
"Yaoyorozu, I think that would be overkill. Kamisato proved she could handle Bakugo without using her Quirk to that level. If she were expecting Midoriya, then wouldn't she be in the right to save her energy? - Kero."
"That's true but remember what her Quirk does, she can produce ice continuously as long as it isn't massive enough - we could see this when she did her ball throw. She didn't get tired much but when she raced with Todoroki again, the huge amounts of ice at once were enough to tire her."
"So it was obvious she was going easy on Bakugo to let him talk..." Tsuyu determines.
Momo nodded, confirming Tsuyu's thoughts. "Next, Kamisato did excellently against Bakugo and Midoriya's crude plan."
"Calling in crude is a bit much ain't it?" Denki said.
A rather flamboyant blonde-haired boy who noticeably had a constantly smiling mouth replied in an exaggerated pose. "Non, non, non! Too brutish, not so elegant unlike me and my cape."
Denki scratched his chin at the eccentric person. "Who are you again?"
The blonde boy poses while pointing a finger at Denki. "Yuga Aoyama, remember it well. My elegance exceeds your drab appearance."
"Drab?! Hey, I don't look like that do I?" Denki asks Kirishima who doesn't really understand what was going on.
"Ahem" Momo makes them concentrate on the lesson. "As I was saying. Kamisato knew her chances of being able to fight after the Heroes' plan went into action so she did everything she could to cripple the Heroes while she still had the strength to do so. Aoyama is correct in a way. The Heroes' plan is too reckless, destroying the entire building is foolish. They could have easily gotten more success if they bypassed Kamisato from the beginning."
"In contrast, Kamisato held restraint in doing damage to the building and being aggressive in general. She understood her objective and focused on it without compromising on the mission. She had done what any Villain would do to win in her position with only a single fault and even that could be argued."
The class hummed in agreement while All Might stood befuddled on the inside. 'That's more than I expected! Students are getting even more talented than I thought, as expected from a scholarship student. Am I getting too out of touch to know this?'
"Okay, now let's move on to the second round. Since most of the members are not here, I will relay everything we have learned and give them their feedback later. Keep training as you learn from this experience."
"Yes!"
Round 2: Denki Kaminari & Tenya Iida vs. Yuga Aoyama & Hanta Sero
"Hey, I think they're just around that room. It's filled with tape though how can we get to them?" Denki turned to Tenya scrunching his face in thought.
"We could use your electricity to stun them while I rush in. Then again the tapes are troublesome," he replied.
"I can't, I need to get close for my Quirk to reach them. My electricity can only produce around me and I can't aim it."
"Oh? That's it!" Tenya brainstormed, and a few seconds later he put pieces of ideas together until he concluded. "I have an idea Kaminari!"
"Somehow, I don't feel good about this one."
Later...
"Definitely not feeling good!"
Denki was currently being carried like a sack of potatoes while Tenya went up another gear on his Quirk. "It's simple Kaminari, I throw you into the tapes, and my speed will carry over to you and rip apart the traps. Electrify anyone nearby while I rush through!"
"That just sounds reckless!"
"We may not have much, this building is too cramped for me to fight properly and Aoyama can aim at us while we try carefully navigating the traps. Which is why an aggressive assault will be our major plan!"
"Can't we think this- ooooooveeeeeer!" Kaminari gets thrown ahead of Tenya. He began screaming like a little girl while ripping apart and entangling himself in tape. "Ahhhhhhhhhh!"
He lands nearby the Villain team. Denki recovers from his flight and lands nearby a surprised Yuga and Hanta. "Uhh... Suh dudes. Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts!"
Hanta reaches outward in a vain attempt to block. "Wait- Ahhhhhh!"
Yuga poses for some reason despite being shocked. "Mon Diuueeeeee!"
Tenya rushes past the two stunned Villains and stops short in front of the bomb they were guarding. He places his hand on top while laughing. "Haha! Evildoers!" he triumphantly said.
"The Hero team wins!" All Might announced.
Tenya turns to his teammate, still tangled with dozens of Hanta's tape. "That went great, Kaminari. Let's get you out."
"Yeee?"
"I guess this is the drawback you mentioned Kaminari. I will not forget your sacrifice, stand proud fellow Hero!"
A dumbed-down Denki starts to jiggle in place before he started to aggressively push forward his arms with his thumbs up.
"Yeeeeeey!"
Round 3: Koji Koda & Mashirao Ojiro vs. Shoto Todoroki & Momo Yaoyorozu
Todoroki took one look at the blueprint and pocketed it. "Yaoyorozu, I trust you can handle defense?"
"That would be best. I can begin with the 5th floor and seal off doorways."
He felt nothing towards the other team, he was stronger than them and he could go above the rest of his class. Shoto wanted to finish it quickly.
Something scratched his mind, like a lingering thought. He stared at Momo who was creating a barrier with her Creation Quirk - able to produce anything on the molecular level as long as she has the fat to break down and the knowledge of the item itself.
"Yaoyorozu, what do you think of Kamisato?" Shoto asks.
The question surprised Momo, Shoto was not one to talk about anything at all. Something she had noticed during their scholarship test. "What got you so interested suddenly?"
"Just answer the question."
"Hmmm, I believe she has the best potential to become a number one Hero," she simply said.
"Because she's stronger than everyone else?" Shoto guessed.
"Combat ability isn't everything in the line of Hero work. Likeability, compassion, and strength to act are what I believe are the basis. There are more but to be even qualified - then those qualities are what's suited in a Hero."
"So you think Kamisato has all that?"
"Of course, she's a nice person to be with and even in her battle earlier she wanted to talk with Bakugo under the guise of acting like a Villain. No one would ever do that unless it's on purpose."
"I noticed, her words acting as a Villain were more on targeting Bakugo's insecurities and emotions, making them surface." Shoto thought hard before reaching a solution.
"Does that mean I need to make everyone I fight mentally unstable?"
"Pft!" Momo chuckled. "No, I mean that she goes out of her way to fix someone else's problems. She made Bakugo confront his feelings in the face of defeat and made him open up by knowing what to talk about like his losses and his sense of futility. It made him scream out his frustrations which led to Midoriya answering his doubts by himself."
Shoto once again stared blankly at the wall. "I don't understand..."
"You'll get what I mean eventually. The timer's almost up, we need to prepare."
"Don't worry, it will be over quickly."
Round 4: Kyoka Jiro & Ochaco Uraraka vs. Mina Ashido & Mezo Shoji
"Ashido! I hear them below us. They're getting close, head to the stairs and delay them with your acid." Mezo commands.
"Will do!" Mina rushes to the exit by sliding with her Quirk, she moves to the staircase connecting the floors - leaving Mezo alone.
Mezo keeps his ears all over the room, listening closely with the augmented sense of his Dupli-arms Quirk. 'Hmm? Hold on I can hear something outside!'
Suddenly, Kyoka enters through the window while floating. "Uraraka! Now!"
Mezo reacts, rushing for the weapon to move it away. Though Kyoka was already moving fast through the air as she braces for the weapon and plugs her earlobes shaped into earphone jacks into the amplifiers on her legs.
"Counter-Balance!"
A wave of ear-piercing noise travels through the room. The distortion of sound by the amplifiers on Kyoka's leg made Mezo stunned.
His ears were overloaded with sound and he quickly formed the body parts on the ends of his Dupli-arms into something other than his ears.
Kyoka used the opportunity to grab the weapon and scream out, "Captured!"
"The Hero team wins!" All Might announced.
Mezo rested his arms and relaxes at the end of the battle. "How did you do that? I thought I heard both of you moving below."
"If you want to know, ask Uraraka. She knew you would use your hearing to spot us so she used her anti-gravity on me to float me up while she faked our footsteps."
"How did you fake your footsteps?"
Kyoka chuckled for a bit which made Mezo confused. "I can send you a picture while she was entering the building. She walked on all fours and it really looks funny to me."
"Jiro! You took a picture of me?!" Ochaco said over the earpiece they had.
"Whoops, I guess I had my earpiece on the entire time."
"Don't send that out, Jiro! it's embarrassing-" Kyoka turned off the earpiece.
"Anyways, it was pretty annoying to get here without making any noise."
Round 5: Rikido Sato & Tsuyu Asui vs. Fumikage Tokoyami & Eijiro Kirishima
Tsuyu Asui gets knocked aside from a swing by Fumikage's Dark Shadow. It had been a few minutes of dodging with Tsuyu trying to bypass him and reach the weapon.
"Surrender, Tsu. You are a worthy opponent but it is not enough to combat the darkness." Tsuyu accepts her defeat and rests on the floor, a sharp pain that reached her body from the fight.
Fumikage cuffs Tsuyu while she stood still on the floor. "Sato should be still in Sugar Rush, he can't think much other than fight. I need to help Kirishima just in case."
Fumikage runs to the stairs and reached the floor below where Rikido had been fighting the entire time with Eijiro
"Kirishima! I'm here, where are you..." he sees both Rikido and Eijiro exhausted on the ground.
"Dude, you're so manly. No way can you fight with me for that long, still, we ended up knocking each other to the floor. You're the first to fight on par with my hardening. I respect you for that."
Eijiro hears no response. "You okay?" he turns his head upward to see Rikido asleep on the cold hard ground below. "He's asleep?"
"Sato told me his Quirk this morning, it makes him very sleepy afterward. Do I assume he is unable to fight?"
Eijiro nods while closing his eyes. "Yeah... to be honest, I wanna sleep too."
"The Villain team wins!"
The lesson ended with the final round of battle training. All Might gathered the students and made a casual farewell.
"Class is over! You all did great despite this being your first lesson. Everyone is fine except for Bakugo, Kamisato, and Midoriya. I need to give them feedback soon."
Ochaco raised her hand and asked, "So many were sent to Recovery Girl on the first day, will they be okay?"
"Haha! Don't worry! Recovery Girl is amazing at her job, you can be confident that the three would be safe in her hands. Aizawa will look over your results so be prepared!"
Some of the others in the class looked shocked at the news. 'Be prepared indeed.' All Might thought to himself.
"Change into your uniforms and head back to class! For now, I must go!"
*BOOM!*
Toshinori's sprint was so fast that it broke the sound barrier just because he rushed to the room. 'I hope I didn't make them push themselves so much. Young Bakugo is there but I have 2 hours left in me, there's no risk in me getting seen in my skinny form.'
Izuku was carried over to the nurse's office for the second time in the day. The moment he arrived he was berated for being so irresponsible to his own body.
"If you keep breaking yourself over and over, I can't always rely on my Quirk to heal you, boy. Remember, my Quirk only accelerates healing - if you sustain too much damage you could die from exhaustion."
Izuku looked down at the sheets as he apologized. "I'm sorry Recovery Girl, it's just that I needed to win. I can't guarantee that I will come back unscathed but I'll try my best to limit the damage."
Recovery Girl stood from her seat as she swayed her head. "You better do. Thankfully, it looks like your arm and your left leg had received less damage than I thought."
Izuku was confused, he didn't know exactly what it meant since he still had both his legs broken. "Less?"
"Let me explain in simpler terms to you. Your old injuries made you have jelly for arms and legs; while your recent injuries made you have a chain of sausages for arms and legs."
Izuku somehow understood. "What does that mean for my body?"
"You need to ask yourself that question. Maybe you did something else different this time, you can always go to you-know-who to ask."
'She must mean All Might. Since Kacchan is here, it'd be safer to not mention him as if I knew him personally. But what did I do differently?'
Izuku looks over his injuries. 'My right leg is still the same level of damage, that was the one I used to get Kacchan but the second time I did so I used both my arm and leg simultaneously... I'll talk to All Might about this.'
"I will. Thank you, Recover Girl."
"Now, I have already taken care of Bakugo and Kamisato. I'll leave you alone for a while since I have an errand to take care of."
Recovery Girl scoffs as she exits the room. "I'll have to give an earful to All Might again for letting you kids fight to the death. I'll never understand that man."
Recovery Girl left the room with Izuku only awake. The other two are still being left to rest in separate beds. Izuku decided to sleep as well, hoping to wait for them to wake up.
He hears shuffling on the other side. 'Hmm?'
Izuku looks to the source of the noise to see Ayaka clutching her arm. She was still in her Hero costume just like Izuku and Katsuki.
Ayaka's face contorted to a distressed expression, not of pain but of fright. 'Why is she desperately grabbing her arm?' Izuku thought.
'...Is she having a nightmare?'
He reaches over to check before he felt Kamisato's frigid hand grabbing onto his own hand. 'Gah! Cold!'
"No... please..." Ayaka muttered.
Izuku had never seen Ayaka so distraught over something. He constantly saw her as the perfect figure she always shows, now she seemed powerless and weak - unlike how she usually is.
He turns his hand over and saw something glowing underneath the arm guard of Ayaka, tucked in between the material that made up the armor. 'What's that?'
Izuku got his face closer to her arm as he tried to make out what the glowing object looked like. 'It's green... No, it has blue in it too... I think. What is this?'
Izuku starts to carry Ayaka's arm up to look closer.
"Deku, what the hell are you doing?"
He froze in place, as he creaked his head to a recently awoken Katsuki. The image presented was Izuku suspiciously dragging Ayaka's arm to his eyes.
"Nothing!" Izuku said as he gently placed back Ayaka's arm to the bedside.
Katsuki knew something was going on, Deku was a twitchy mess when it came to talking but Katsuki knew that Izuku was being secretive about something again.
"Deku, you grabbing someone else's arm and sticking your eyes into it as if it were a new All Might sticker book isn't nothing."
Izuku was surprised at Katsuki not immediately insulting him or speaking harshly. "Kacchan, I was just... worried at Kamisato's condition!"
Katsuki was perceptive and can tell something was up. "Bullshit, tell me or I swear I'm going to tell your mom personally that I saw you being creepy."
"Ok! Look, she was having a nightmare, I think. Her arm had something glowing on it and I tried to take a look. I only saw something green, maybe a bit of blue - I'm not sure."
Katsuki was even more confused. "Whatever, I'm heading straight home. Don't forget about what I said, Deku."
"O-of course! Wait, can't you wait for Kamisato to wake up? We can all head to the classroom together."
"Screw that, deal with the others yourself. I don't care if Frosty wakes up or not. I'm leaving-"
*SLAM!*
"I am here!" All Might shows up with his muscular form still intact and forces the door open. "To tell you your results!" he continued.
"All Might!" Izuku exclaims. "Are you already done with the others?"
"Yes! I need to give you my thoughts on the entire fight. Along with words from your classmates, I will paraphrase especially since most came from Yaoyorozu."
All Might approached Katsuki. "Ahem, young Bakugo. It would be fitting to start with you first."
Katsuki pursed his lips with disappointment, mostly at himself and his actions.
"First, I'd like to tell you about the problems you had. You were too self-serving, you didn't correctly assess the situation, ignored suggestions by teammates, foolish in unleashing those large-scale attacks, and overall did the worst in perspective."
Katsuki didn't know how to reply, everything was right. His idol for most of his life and the person who he looked up to and modeled himself as was talking about how bad he was at being a hero.
He wanted to lie in a ditch and cry his heart out, he wanted to punch the wall for how bad he was. 'I'm such... a... fucking idiot.' he told himself.
"But!" All Might announced. "This is a learning experience. Remember what I told you? It is you who can only judge yourself for your mistake, make sure this is not one of them. So young Bakugo, do you think this was a mistake?"
"It... is."
"No!"
"...What?"
"The mistake I refer to is not the fact you have done those horrible things. The mistake I wanted you to avoid was not judging yourself afterward."
All Might kneeled as he placed his hands on Katsuki's shoulders. "I heard what you said during the battle training, you already judged yourself enough. It was a mistake after all but you can always keep moving forward."
Katsuki finally steeled his heart. "I will! I'll be the best damn hero, All Might!" he was almost in tears, at least to himself. All Might and Izuku had already seen tears coalescing near his eyes as he spoke.
All Might turned to Izuku next. "Midoriya, I can't say you were perfect out there. Some mistakes for sure but your intentions were on the right side. I'm proud of you, all of you."
"Yes! Thank you, All Might!" Izuku proudly said.
"Hngg... All Might?" a voice came from the beds.
"Ah! Young Kamisato, just in time. I am about to give you your results. You don't need to get up to greet me, rest if you must."
Ayaka followed his suggestion and lay down instead of getting up. She adjusted herself from her sleep and listened.
"You have been the most impressive out of everyone here as judged by your classmates. The thought you put in to talk to Bakugo was impressive indeed. Keep your performance up Kamisato. You deserve the praise."
"All Might, I didn't do much, believe me. Midoriya and Bakugo were the ones to reconcile, I didn't do much myself."
All Might let out a massive laugh. "Haha! I told you to not downplay your achievements. Your humbleness is good but you need to learn to acknowledge what you have, okay?"
"I will. Thank you, All Might."
"Some of your classmates are all waiting for you back in the classroom. There's still time, go say goodbye to them if need be. For now, goodbye!"
*BOOM!*
Just like before, All Might leave with a huge cloud of dust in his wake. The three stared at each other as Izuku decided to break the ice.
"Umm... would you all like to go back with the others? We still have our injuries but I think it will be fine."
Katsuki went silent at the suggestion before frustratingly messing his hair. "Damnit, Deku," he says as he heads outside for the classroom.
Ayaka and Izuku head the same way while they talked about the battle.
"Midoriya! Kamisato! You two are fine!" Tenya started to hand chop in worry.
Ochaco rushes to Izuku's side. "How are your injuries? I can't believe you did the same thing again even though it looks so painful."
Denki offers his thoughts. "Dude, you a masochist or something- ow!"
A pair of earphone jacks pierce Denki's eardrums while he spoke. "Ignore this dunce, we were all worried about you."
Bakugo looked sour at the sight, he reaches for his bag and decides to leave early anyways.
"Sup man, you doing all right? Your legs got pretty messed up by Kamisato." Eijiro spoke from behind him.
"The hell do you want?"
"Nothing man, just checking up on ya. I can't let my buddy be all alone. Islands are not a man, right?"
"Dumbass, it's no man is an island," Bakugo replies. Surprisingly it didn't seem to faze Eijiro.
"Yeah! That's what it is. How's your ribcage? I saw you took that hit and still stood to fight."
"I'm strong, that's why."
"For sure, your explosions were nice. I want to have a match with you someday, I think my hardening is pretty good. I only need some training is all!"
"...Sure. Make it worth my time." Bakugo agreed without much argument.
Izuku stared at the normal conversation Katsuki was holding. He felt a weird sense of wonder from it. 'Kacchan...'
Strangely, Izuku looked around for Ayaka but saw she had already gotten her bag and left. He turns to the hall and saw Ayaka leaving.
"Kamisato? Are you leaving already?" he asked.
Ayaka turned her head to meet his eyes. "I have something I must do."
With that, she kept on walking with sadness inside. There was something wrong, she could feel it. The nightmare she experienced reminded her how vulnerable she was now.
Ayaka walked alone while looking through the time she had on the first day, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. More was revealed to her about her situation in Japan but more questions popped up.
Most important was the side effects she had been experiencing the whole time. Usually, Delusions vary in consequences.
She pieced together the side effect of the Anemo Delusion she had while she walked home. 'This Delusion... it takes advantage of the user's emotional state to force its use. What happens if it gets to a critical level, I wonder?'
Ayaka now knew half of the effects of the Anemo delusion, what remains of the outcome is still a mystery but Ayaka was not willing to find out by mistake lest she experiences a dire impact.
She entered the elevator to her apartment and waited as it went up.
Ayaka exited and headed for her room. The clack of her shoes echoed along the hall while a soft breeze wafted around the building.
She arrived at the front door and gripped the key in her hands as she reached over to the metallic door knob she always had.
Turning the key she felt the lock unlatch from the inside as she turned the door inwards.
*CLICK!*
An odd and unfamiliar audible clicking noise sounded as soon as she opened the door.
*PING!*
A metallic pin dropped afterward. She opened her eyes wide before jumping back in a panic.
"Senho!-"
*BOOM!*
