Through the portal Knuckles, Tails and Bunnie entered the inside of Casino Nights which was quite busy with all the patrons gambling and the waiters serving them. They walked past a table where there was a disgruntled green crocodile and a purple chameleon. "I am going to be on a hot streak starting now; I just know it Espio!" the crocodile told the chameleon who sighed.
"I hope so chief; because if we don't then we might not be able to pay rent on the office this month." the chameleon said with his arms folded.
"Tails; you think that I can talk to you please... About what happened before you went off..." Bunnie whispered to Tails who sighed sadly.
"I am really sorry for what happened Bunnie..." Tails replied with a face full of regret but Bunnie shook her head.
"No Tails; I should be sorry..." Bunnie said but Knuckles stopped them as he then pointed to where through a door there were scavengers taking containers filled with Rings.
"That could lead to where they keep all the rest of the treasures of the casino; including the Chaos Emerald. We need a plan to make our way in stealthily..." Tails stated but Knuckles looked confident as he started walking in the direction. "Knuckles wait; stealth is the best course of action and we can't just barge in without a plan..." Tails said said with Bunnie putting a hand on Knuckles's shoulder to stop him.
He then took Bunnie's hand off saying "no need to worry; we are going to be so quiet and stealthy not even we will know that we are there! We will be in and out without even being glanced at..."
"I think that someone more than glanced at us!" Bunnie sarcastically told Knuckles as Scavengers were dragging the 3 of them to the main office where inside sitted at his desk like it was a throne was an aged green furred opossum in a white suit and black pants. His hands both holding onto his cane as they were dragged to his desk.
"Knuckles; the last of the Echidnas... Been a while and you brought friends with you..." the opossum greeted as he sighed. "I let you go after you beat my Champion, paid you your winnings and let you hire out some of my Scavengers and yet you return to break into my property... So disappointing..." the opossum stated.
"Clutch; that Emerald that you recently got... It was part of the Master Emerald and Rava the Destroyer is after it! As long as it's here; your casino is at risk!" Bunnie said as Clutch took a grin as he leaned in closer.
"I thought that there was something special with that rock... You really think that you can talk me out of handing over something so powerful? Plus what is some ancient legend going to do against the empire that I have here?" Clutch asked nonplussed.
"The power of your empire is nothing compared to the magic of Rava even without the Emeralds that he already has! Trust me; you won't stand a chance if he gets here!" Tails pleaded and Cluctch just laughed making them frustrated.
"You want to talk about power kid? I am the richest in the galaxy; the resources that I have are beyond compare! I'm the house here and the house always wins!" Clutch told them but he thought it over. "You know what? How about this... In the arena I am hosting an open to all comers battle royal and the winner will get the chance to face me in cards for the ultimate jackpot... What do you say?" Clutch asked as Knuckles grinned.
"You are on! You might as well cough up the Emerald right now! Knuckles grinned as Clutch had them showed them out as Tails and Bunnie looked at him exasperated.
"What were you thinking Knuckles? Playing by his rules when he is sneaky enough to build an empire like this?" Tails asked him but Knuckles shook his head.
"We beat our opponents without mercy and then we will beat him with the cards; we can worry about the plan later!" Knuckles replied causing them both to sigh.
"Commander Walters sir? This is Agent Handel of Sigma-Alpha 2; I am with Sonic, my in-laws and an alien princess in Green Hill... Robotnik is attacking and requesting backup..." Randall said to his communication device as he went through the portal to the Wachowski's neighbourhood with Sonic, Sally and the Wachowskis.
Sonic saw Sally take out two light blue clear wristbands from her vest pockets as she put them on. Sonic's eyes widened as from them sprang 2 light blue clear blades; "Ancient weapons passed down the royal family." Sally explained as she jumped up and began slashing through Badniks with them as Tom and Maddie began helping leading the people to safety.
"That is so cool..." Sonic muttered in awe but shook it off looking confident. "I mean... Big deal... Let me show you how a real hero fights..." Sonic said as he began jumping and fighting the Badniks.
Sonic smashed through them and saw some coming towards the Wachowski house so he focused on them and went inside; he went out holding both Ozzie and the Master Emerald. "The Master Emerald right here! Ozzie was keeping it safe in his bed; whose a good boy temporary guardian?" Sonic asked as he then began playing with Ozzie's ears.
"Are you saying the most powerful relic in the known galaxy was being kept in an animal's bed?" Sally asked incredulously as Sonic gave a cheesy smile as she just sighed.
Some Badniks were firing at Tom and Maddie as they ran but then there was Wade firing at it with his handgun while shielding them. "Don't worry Donut Lord, Pretzel Lady... Game Master is here!" Wade said striking a pose with them looking incredulous. "Sorry; wanted a codename and to be part of the adventure for once... I am starting to feel a bit left out..." Wade explained as they sighed.
"Just help get people to safety Wade!" Tom told his deputy who gave a salute as they went to do just that.
Soon GUN trucks and helicopters arrived and armed agents came out to join the fight; "Here is discount SHIELD finally... Plus look who else is here..." Sonic said as Robotnik came down on his pod with Stone by his side.
"Just like a bad rash; you always come back Robotnik! Are you tired of getting beat by our blue hedgehog friend?" Commander Walters asked coming closer with armed GUN agents as he was wearing a bulletproof vest. Sonic thought that 'friend' seemed strong for how he was treated back in Hawaii.
"So you are the famous Robotnik? The one who is now serving as Rava the Destroyer's lackey?" Sally shouted at him as Robotnik shook his head.
"Some more annoying friends to add to the list hedgehog? Rava is just a means to an end; I will do away with him when I no longer need him." Robotnik retorted.
"Really Robotnik? Here I thought that you wanted to be the snivelling servant of lizard Thanos..." Sonic sarcastically quipped.
"You think that Rava will let you betray him? Arrogance will be your undoing..." Sally said as Robotnik shook his head and summoned more Badniks to fight and the fighting continued.
Back at the casino the battle royal was underway with Knuckles and Bunnie using their shear strength to push the opponents away and Tails was using his gadgets in order to fire at them and his Miles Electric to confuse them with holograms.
"Now punches Knuckles; your reputation is well warranted..." Bunnie said as Knuckles grinned.
"I trained all my life and tracked down ancient artefacts that my people used to forge the Master Emerald... Chaos strength is within me! Knuckles said striking a pose as they done away with the last of the opponents.
"Impressive showing everyone..." Clutch clapped from his seat and the packed audience cheered.
"Now to the card game Clutch?" Bunnie asked and the trio grew concerned as Clutch laughed.
"Getting ahead of yourself madam... The battle royal is not over yet; I said the WINNER as in non-plural would get to face me. There are 3 finalists left in this contest." Clutch retorted and the trio allowed what he meant to sank in.
"Friends; I apologise for the pain I must inflict on you..." Knuckles stated.
Back in Green Hill; they were continuing to take on the Badniks and Sonic was making sure to keep the Master Emerald safe. "You really live up to the stories Sonic." Sally complimented Sonic as he was smiling red faced.
"Wow really... I mean... Off course since I'm way past cool!" Sonic said putting on a confident bravado making Sally laugh behind her hand.
"I think it's time to bring Metal in for a test drive Doctor." Stone said and Robotnik then pressed something on his gauntlet.

From behind Sonic was charged at by the Project: Metal robot that was remade to be slimmer and with plates turned dark blue and a turbine giving him speed. "Project: Metal..." Walters muttered as he noticed the robot.
Sonic pushed the robot back and turned into a ball to charge at him but the robot replicated the move. "You made a Metal Sonic? I have to say that I am flattered Robotnik..." Sonic snarked as he charged back at the robot.
"I can't take all the credit; Project: Metal was GUN;s and I just improved everything about it." Robotnik grinned as everyone nearby glanced at the nervous looking Walters.
"So you built MechaGodzilla for me?" Sonic asked he turned his attention back to fighting Metal Sonic.
