Author's Note: I couldn't leave this how I ended it, so here is a bonus chapter...

15 years later...

It was hard to stand there and watch as he suffered. This wasn't the ending Isolde had hoped for him but over the years waiting for him she had seen him grow darker than ever before her demise. How she wished she could of reassured him, watching his grief in the beginning was difficult but she knew in the end she knew she had made the right choice in waiting for him.

Isolde hid out of view from all of his brothers as she watched him join them on the fireplace. She wanted nothing more than to be reunited with him but she had waited this long, what would be a few more moments?

Now the time had come, she was at a lost of how to approach him. Isolde had thought about this moment for years, playing out the different scenarios in her head but now she found herself scared. What if he didn't care for her anymore? She had waited all these years to move onto the other side with him but what if he didn't want her? As she watched his heart grow colder over the time without her, had it also grown cold towards the memory of her too?

And then he spotted her. Too late for any more doubts, too late for to turn and run away through fear of rejection.

"Isolde? Is it really you?" He whispered as he slowly approached her with his brothers muttering to each other as they looked on.

Isolde eyes filled with tears as she could only bring herself to nod. Septimus reached towards her own ghostly figure still marked with thorns. He stroked her cheek as the tears feel onto his already damp hand.

"I told you I would wait for you" she whispered as she looked into his piercing eyes, even this side of death they still had their power over her as she felt her stomach knot.

"Isolde, you are even more perfect than I remembered" he mumbled as he gently touched her curls "I can't believe you are here"

"The new King of Stormhold, it's you Tristan" they heard behind them.

They both turned to look at the young boy who had made the stone turn to ruby and the rest of his brothers jaw dropped at the realisation that the land had a new King and they could move on.

"Are you ready?" Isolde asked him as she squeezed his hand.

"I feel like this was the moment I was truly waiting for, to be at your side once more. Now forever and always" he replied. It was like he felt truly free now they were at last reunited.

Isolde and Septimus smiled at each other and linked arms as they walked together into the shimmering light ahead of them.
