I don't own Harry Potter
Please Read and Review

Adria buried her face in the pillow. She was exhausted from the day's revelations. She had a child, with Hermione. It was not something she had anticipated. Hell, their relationship had never been very physical, It was staggering bad luck that she ended up getting pregnant.

Adria instantly felt guilty thinking about her daughter that way. Rose, It was a nice name. Hermione chose well. Hermione had had to raise her alone. Hermione was probably a good mother but Rose deserved to have both her mothers in her life.

She needed to get her shit together, By merlin! She wasn't going to let them suffer. The thought of settling down back home was disconcerting. She knew she would face scrutiny from the media and the public but even worse, she couldn't bear to see how her family would react.

Harry had been flummoxed and Ginny took it very well. Those were the best reactions she could have hoped for, she was dead terrified of her parent's reaction. She didn't have high for her other siblings either. How would Rose react? That was not something she had planned for at all. She had an inkling about her parents and siblings but she never had to think about coming out to her own daughter.

It took Adria a few hours to get off her bed. She had cried a lot. She fixed her hair and cleaned up a bit before heading to see Hermione again. All she wanted to do was crawl back into her bed and get some sleep but she was going to keep her word.

She stumbled out of the fireplace disgracefully and then slipped and fell hard onto the floor. She got off the floor to the sound of Hermione laughing.

"I would have appreciated a helping hand." She grumbled.

"A clumsy bounty hunter, How did you survive this long ?" Hermione asked as she helped her up.

"I honestly don't know." She answered

Hermione stared daggers at her "Very reassuring."

Adria shrugged, " I'm still here" Hermione squeezed her hand gently.

"Yes, you are," Hermione said before falling silent.

" Are we ordering in?" Adria asked trying to break the tension.

" Obviously."

"Is Rose.." Adria asked

"No, I thought it best that she stayed with Aunt Ginny for the day."

She nodded, Adria felt a mixture of disappointment and relief. She wasn't ready to meet her yet.

They made more small talk as they set the table. Hermione was tense, She knew Hermione was anxious to question her. She was impressed by the restraint she had shown.

"Out with it." She said

"What?" Hermione raised her eyebrows.

"I know you are dying to interrogate me, Just ask them."

She paused and stared at her for a moment. As if assessing her for a moment.

"How long have you known?" She asked

"3 years. I started treatment about 2 years ago."

Hermione nodded, "Was it painful?"

"It was worth it." She answered while digging into the food.

Hermione sighed, " This is pointless, I don't want to uncover your past. It will not help us at all. I would still be angry that you left us. It has been hard, on both of us."

"Hermione, if I had known about Rose, I would have come back. I would have stayed here, No matter how difficult it has been. I'm sorry I could not be there for our daughter."

"Wait a minute," Hermione whispered as she got up and walked into her bedroom.

Adria was confused, She did have the propensity to put her foot in her mouth but surely she hadn't stuffed this one up, did she? She could hear Hermione rummaging through her room, did she misplace her wand?

Hermione returned with a large book in her hand. Hermione dusted off the book and placed it on the table.

"It is an album, Mostly pictures of Rose."

Adria's heart beat faster as she opened the album. She couldn't bear it, The first photo was of Hermione holding baby Rose in the hospital. She had to compose herself before she turned the page. It seemed as if Hermione had captured millions of moments. She wanted to sink into those pictures. She flipped toward the last pages.

"She looks like you," Adria whispered while wiping away the tears on her cheeks.

"She does," Hermione whispered. " I wanted to record as much as I could. I knew you would come back and I wanted you to know her."

"Photos aren't the same thing as being there for her." She said as she looked at Hermione.

"Thank you, Hermione."

Hermione smiled. " More wine?" Hermione asked.

"Lot more wine." She responded

Adria and Hermione were wine drunk. They had somehow ended up on the couch. Hermione was leaning on her and they had been reminiscing about their misadventures in Hogwarts.

Adria also remembered the last time Hermione had gotten drunk.

"Hermione, At the bar, Were you hitting on me?" She asked

Hermione blushed but nodded.

"I thought you were my ex." She said while covering her face.

"Wait, your ex was a redhead?" She asked between laughs. It was somewhat funny

"Technically, I was right, you are an ex. Not the right ex but I was right." Hermione waved the question away. " I don't want to talk about her."

"We don't have to talk about her."

Her, She had tiny embers of hope from their chance meeting at the pub but It was very possible that Hermione had just been drunk and she had misread the situation. Hermione dated women, she was into women.

She had to catch herself before she spiraled into hope, even if Hermione was interested in women, She may not be interested in dating the deadbeat mother of her child.

"Our relationship makes so much sense now," Hermione mumbled.

"I don't think we should try again," She said " Not that I don't want to but we need to sort things out and get a good co-parenting setup going. I don't want us to wait but if things are going well…"

Adira nodded, " That makes sense and it is not like there is a line of witches waiting to date me."

"Lucky me," Hermione mumbled

" What are you planning to do career-wise?" She asked

Adria groaned. "Hermione, let's not talk about it." She begged. " I don't know, I am thinking something less dangerous. I do have some money saved up so I am not worried for the moment but I have to figure it out."

Hermione nodded, Hermione certainly had an idea but she seemed reluctant to suggest it. Adria let the matter rest for now. She was sure that she would bring it up later. For now, all she wanted to do was spend time with her best friend and get drunk.
