(Jarvan IV - PoV)

Standing with Garen, Katarina, and Shyvana, we watch the mages demolish various targets in front of the wary students.

It took a bit of time to get the event organized, but after that night I put a rush on it.

Old friend or not, it really highlighted how badly I need him and his insanity out of the country while I try to bring some semblance of order back. I would prefer the apocalypse not to start here, not while we are already in such a pitiful state. Well, not ever, really, but especially not now.

I do my best to ignore the sp- Soraka. I do my best to ignore Soraka standing not far away with Morgana, watching the proceedings as well. Lux's words have a damnable way of sticking in one's head.

Said girl throws down some sort of field of light over her latest target, before firing off another laser into the zone. The resulting blast not only demolishes the target but just so happens to throw rubble into the crowd of students, who duck and cover.

Completely an accident, I am sure.

I sigh.

"I don't suppose you or any of yours would know about the various crude and highly inappropriate drawings of Demacian Champions being sodomized by...everything, that have been appearing all over the city the last few days?" I ask Garen as the show continues.

"Crude? I will have you know we spent almost a minute or two on some of those," he replies.

...

He doesn't even pretend to deny it.

"I could legally arrest you for vandalism or something."

"You won't."

I sigh again.

He could at least pretend to care about the laws.

"I don't suppose you are responsible for the glitter too?"

He shakes his head.

"That is all Lux. Kat and I hate glitter, and won't let her use it in Noxus, but we figure here we can let her go wild since it's not our problem."

...

"Damnit man, I thought you forgave me? Why are you doing this to me?" I complain, slumping in defeat.

Shyvana pats my shoulder and glares at Garen, who shrugs.

"It's not directed at you, Jarvan. It is at Demacia."

"You are supposed to be leading the province, Prince. Stop micromanaging," Katarina tells me. "Ignore the petty stuff, and focus on the big picture."

...She has a point. I really shouldn't be worried about a little vandalism. My advisors have said similar repeatedly. It is just...hard. I feel responsible for everything. I am not the heir anymore, but the head of the country. Province. Whatever. I-

"Ahh! Oh god, please! Whyyyy!"

...

Annie has released Tibbers to tear apart and eat a handful of straw mannequins. Lux appears to be doing sound effects. Badly.

...

And some illusions of flailing arms added to the piteous wailing...why?

...

"And there we have it!" she announces cheerfully after the last target is consumed. "A small-scale reenactment of our battle against three shields of the Dauntless Vanguard, where they died like bitches, screaming and crying! Sorry, I can't really recreate the smell of burning flesh here, you will just have to imagine it."

...

Lux...Lux this was not part of the plan.

"Of course, afterward Vayne ambushed us and tried to kill me. If you can't tell, it didn't work. She is now in pieces, and I am still here. Well, now it's your turn! From what I understand, a few of you are in trrrooooubbbbblle! So today, you get to play with the Angel! The same Angle that ripped the Champion Vayne limb from limb! Have fuuuuunnnn!"

She happily skips off the field towards us, a smile on her face.

"Morgana! Your turn! Make sure they earn that forgiveness, ok?" she asks.

Sighing and lightly shaking her head, but still smiling, the Angel, Morgana, steps forward, brushing her wings against Lux as she passes.

The proctors hesitantly look towards me.

No backing out now, go on then. I signal them to send their charges out. Hopefully this Soraka can heal whatever Morgana does to them.

The troublesome students are prodded forth, stepping onto the parade grounds very, very hesitantly.

"That was fun!" Annie exclaims.

"Yeah, it was better than expected." Lux agrees. "Just have to figure out how to make it interesting I guess."

"Good job girls." Garen nods at them.

What? No! Garen!

I shake my head.

I am so glad they are leaving after this.

"Students, you have been very naughty," Morgana begins.

Morgana, why? You are going to give these boys a complex...

"We are going to start the game off simple, with the floor is lava."

She throws out several dozen patches of blackness, that they scramble to avoid, with quickly muffled cries coming from those not fast enough.

"Good, good. Now, who likes dodgeball?" she asks, forming a dozen violet spheres around her.

It only gets harder from there, as she begins throwing her proper Bindings out, as well as looping black chains and clouds of darkness.

All while whispering seductively.

It is...quite the show. One that I doubt the participants will ever want to repeat.

...

Hopefully.

With that demonstration done, we move on to the second one. Many of the Council's properties were seized in the wake of their arrests and after speaking to my advisors, we did select one for demolition, as a statement to the public that corruption will not be tolerated.

There is a fair gathering already as we arrive. Standing before them I can feel all eyes upon me as I look out over the crowd. Alas, I don't feel particularly inspired for some grand speech at the moment.

"The bastard that owned this manor committed grave crimes against the nation and its people. It is a symbol of everything wrong with the old system. Today, we will be bringing it down. As a reminder that such will no longer be tolerated."

I should mention that we will be using magic but, words fail me.

...

Whatever. On with the show.

Lux smiles at my signal to start and begins gathering her magic, lighting up like a beacon as the crowd murmurs and pulls away.

Hovering into the air, her arms and wings spread wide, before she extends one arm, and fires an absolutely massive beam of blinding light at the manor.

Even I have to blink several times, clearing my vision. When I can see again, almost nothing is left. A bit of floor and part of a wall remain to one side of where she aimed. Otherwise, she disintegrated the entire estate.

...

I do not want to get hit by that spell.

I turn back to the muttering crowd, as they recover their sight and notice the now missing building.

"The area will be cleared but left empty for the time being. Discussions are ongoing as to what it will be used for in the future. Thank you for coming."

We make our way back to the palace, where I have a small party planned. It is celebrating the successful demonstrations, of course. Not everyone leaving.

Lux and Annie throw handfuls of glitter into the crowds as we walk past, waving cheerfully/mockingly at the fearful civilians.

No, not that at all.
