-Chapter One-
-Vegeta-
Vegeta woke slowly and groggily as if his rest had been interrupted for whatever reason or other. He still hadn't opened his eyes yet as he rolled over on his bed to get closer to his beautiful wife.
However, instead of Bulma's soft and fragile body he was met with a facefull of grass.
This woke him up fully as he spit out the grass and dirt that had accidentally gotten into his mouth.
"Wha-" He asked his wife but was cut off when he realized he was not in bed with Bulma. Instead, he was lying in the middle of a clearing surrounded on all sides by lush forests. It seemed to be late spring, or maybe early summer. He still hadn't gotten all of the meaningless Earth distinctions between holidays and seasons completely down. Not that it mattered much.
Unfortunately for the Saiyan prince, his head was aching profusely. Only now when he had fully awoken was he aware of the pain. It was mostly situated in the back of his head as if he had been lying his head on something sharp. Sitting up and looking around, it seemed that he was somewhere that was decidedly not close to his home at all. Then his eyes landed on something that sent a wave of anger down his spine.
"You didn't" He muttered to his wife Bulma as he realized just what he was looking at. It was the prototype time machine that he had helped her with building and now it was laying in four different twisted and scrapped chunks that lay haphazardly thrown into the grass and dirt. Getting up and looking abound, he came across the capsule box. These boxs were immensely durable and could survive almost anything other than an attack from one of the Saiyans.
Picking it up and opening it he read the note that came with the box.
As he read through the note his anger changed from mild to severe. Firstly anger at himself for not seeing this coming, and secondly anger at his wife for not even giving him a warning. However, the rage didn't last long, and was instead replaced by a feeling of helplessness. He could no longer help his wife without fixing the time machine, or getting the past version of his wife to do it.
Speaking of the past, he sent his Ki sense out across the planet and to his shock he found nobody that he was familiar with. Was this a parallel universe he arrived in due to the machine breaking?
It didn't take a super genius to figure that out but it shocked him all the same. He needed to fix the time machine as fast as possible and go to the past to put an end to the Android threat once and for all. But it was as easy as just saying so. After all this timeline may very well not have the technological capabilities of his own. Questions for later. Right now he needed to figure out his situation and see if there was anyone who could help him.
Besides, it wasn't like he couldn't force any of the pathetically low Ki signatures to do what he wanted. Hell, if he were to put Chaiotzu on this planet, he could likely conquer it through brute force alone in a week. As much as it pained him to give credit t the two bald humans Tenshinhan and Krillen would be far too strong for this world. It was a strange revelation to him. He had become accustomed to being weaker than his foes over the past few years, and now he was on a planet where the greatest powers could barely register on his sensory energy.
Putting that aside, he could sense none of the dinosaurs or beast people that planet Earth had. This meant that this version of Earth, or whatever other planet he was on was fundamentally different to the Earth he knew.
Thankfully, humanity and a strange equally weak race were mostly consolidated in large metropolis areas, and far less people lived out in the open countryside than on Earth.
"tch" Vegeta sucked his teeth and burst a white aura of Ki from his form and flew over to the time machine to search for anything else his wife left for him. Aside from another capsule box she left nothing else. Using one of the empty capsules, he placed as much of the time machine as he could find in it as fast as possible. Tucking those into his blue pockets and flying up high above the lands, he hovered a dozen or so meters above the treetops.
Further ahead a good quarter mile was a large cliff where a congregation of Kis were clustered. Then, one by one, the Kis where swiftly launched in his general direction. He tensed up, preparing for any ambush that may come his way, and sure enough, he soon heard what sounded like multiple rapid succession shotgun blasts and an excited girls whoops and cheers.
Shortly after, the girl came into his sight. It was a buxom blonde girl that seemed to be propelling herself rapidly with shotgun gauntlets, and she seemed to be coming directly towards him with a crazed look of glee. Only when she was within ten meters of Vegeta did she notice him but it was too late as they were on a direct collision course.
Dodging to the side, Vegeta watched the blonde girl zoom by him with mild amusement at her look of shock at seeing him clearly fly out of her way. Luckily for her, she didn't remind Vegeta of Android Eighteen, or else she would have most likely died immediately via a punch to the head.
Floating midair, Vegeta watched the kids fly by him, but quickly lost interest, intent on finding someone who could fix the machine.
His first stop would be the large metropolis not too far away. "Far away" was a relative term when it came to Vegeta who could circle the planet in less than a second, but he wasn't going to use that speed for something so simple. After all, he needed to think.
So, Prince Vegeta casually flew towards the nearby city.
-Yang Xiao Long-
When Yang had been thrown through the air by the pad, it was an enjoyable experience. However, what she did not expect was there to be a flying man relaxing in the air right in front of her. She almost doubted herself. However, as if the man had read her doubt, he floated to the side and they made eye contact as she flew by him. He had a slightly amused half smile, as if her pseudo flight were amusing.
Almost losing herself in her curiosity, she almost fell face first into a tree below before making a quick burst shot with her gauntlets that sent her soaring into the sky again.
Due to this course correction, she ended up landing a but short skidding through the dirt and using that momentum to punch a Ursa Grimm that had shown up in front of her and sending it flying a good five meters where it landed against a tree and bursting into a black smoky explosion of energy.
"Who was that?" She thought. Was that a new instructor that would be observing them? A school secret?
Whoever he was, she was instantly interested in finding out his identity. This was for a few reasons. First, He was extremely fast. She didn't even see him dodge. In one moment he was in front of her, and the next he was five or so meters to her left. The second reason was her earlier thought, if he was an instructor. Finally, her last question would be what he would be teaching if he was an instructor.
However, he looked a bit too...Aggressive. Yes that was the word she was looking for. Most of the professors and staff at Beacon were either mundane, mysterious, or quirky. However, that man was quite the opposite of mundane and he didn't seem quirky from her brief exchange of looks.
Regardless, that was for later. Now she would have to find a partner and pick up their pieces together.
"Focus Yang" She reprimanded herself as she ran off to find a partner.
-Ozpin-
It was only after a few switches of camera feeds when Ozpin saw Vegeta, and he only caught him flying into the air and...not coming down? That wasn't right. Flight was nigh impossible for anyone without some divine intervention or a very rare semblance. As such, he quickly switched through the channels. It was too late too recall his students as almost all off them were already flying through the sky from the launch pads.
Seeing the curious look that Ozpin was giving his tablet, Glynda asked him what was concerning him.
"Do you by perchance know anyone with a flight semblance?" Ozpin asked her, but she responded in the negative.
"Hmmm, it seems that we have an unannounced visitor. Though, it doesn't seem that he wants to interact with our students" Ozpin said, looking up and at the skyline.
Following the headmaster's gaze, Glynda saw the "visitor" flying at an incredible pace towards Vale.
"What should we do?" Glynda asked, however, it didn't seem that the students were in danger so she wasn't too astounded. Of course flight was a one in ten million semblance, but it wasn't impossible.
"Nothing yet, we have work to do. Besides, if he is making himself known to us, I don't doubt he will make himself known in the coming weeks" the headmaster replied casually, however a hint of curiosity was clear and evident in his otherwise blasé voice.
"What do you think of Mr Arc?" Ozpin changed the subject, interested in his coworker's opinions of the boy.
"What else is there to say other than he has certainly faked his admission papers? Why you continue to play his charade is beyond me" Glynda responded, stating her objection, but not in a nasty or demeaning way to the young man.
"Now now. It's not like I have no reason for this. Not only are his family a trustworthy sort, he also has untapped potential that even I am taken aback by. He just needs to realize it." Ozpin finished with a sip of whatever steaming drink that he had in his mug.
"Very well, but for his sake, I hope you are not wrong" Glynda replied with some skepticism. After all, her colleague was one who took flights of fancy and incorporated them into reality even if they were unfounded or foolish. However, his track record with important things like this spoke louder than his recent failures.
"Rest assure, I am not wrong on this one" Ozpin smiled as he watched the students from his scroll. This would be an exciting year for sure.
