Chapter 13 A Special Dinner

Lucas woke up in time to make it to his staff meeting he rolled over kissing her on the forehead. "Elizabeth, I have a staff meeting this morning. Feel free to stay here and sleep. I will be back just as soon as it is over. I have breakfast coming for you."

She moaned and rolled over pulling him closer. "Stay." She teased.

"I will be back shortly. Don't worry we have the rest of our lives together." He said kissing her hand.

"Is this how it is going to be for us? You are working all the time. We just got married."

"Of course not. That is not fair, Elizabeth. You had no idea we were going to get married on this trip, yet you chose to come knowing I had to evaluate our Club here. You are welcome to come with me and sit in, but I promise you, you will be bored. I'll come right back and later tonight you can play hostess while I go over the books." He said massaging her thighs.

"I'm sorry, darling. I will just miss you." She pulled him down for a deep enthusiastic kiss.

"You are making this difficult my beautiful wife." He said taking a breath while she pulled him in again.

He pulled himself away and headed to the club. Elizabeth lay there deep in thought about what was in store for their future. Lucas was always so busy, and she didn't want that for them or their future children. Would he be willing to cut back for the sake of family.

Elizabeth was already dressed when Lucas returned several hours later. He walked in and gave her a passionate kiss. "I must say you were on my mind the whole time I was away. It is going to be hard to leave you every day." He wrapped her in his arms and gave her a passionate kiss.

"How was your meeting?

"It was fine. I can't wait until I get to show you off tonight. I must say I am extremely happy and last night was unforgettable if you know what I mean." He teased pulling her closer and with more passion.

"Lucas? Are you sure you are going to be able to slow down now that we are married?"

"Of course. Elizabeth, I have been thinking about this for a while. It's not as if I am acting on impulse."

"What are we going to tell people when we get back. Are we supposed to keep it a secret until the ceremony or what?"

"You can tell people whatever you want them to know. I will stand by you no matter what you decide."

"I think we should keep it under wraps for now. If my parents found out that I eloped, they would probably disown me." She said emotionally.

"Elizabeth, I didn't want to upset you. If you had told me no, I would still love you. You are the one for me. Why don't you change into your bathing suit, and we can spend the afternoon at the beach before going to the club later." He said rubbing her arms trying to distract her from the fact that they had indeed got married without their parents present.

"Alright, why don't you help me? She winked.

"Oh, well I would love too." He said playfully. He helped her out of her clothes and to the bed where the beach was all but forgotten. "I could stay like this all-day love."

"You, Mr. Bouchard, are very distracting." She pulled him down for another kiss.

"Is that so?" He was now kissing her neck causing her body to ache with need and they were once again lost in each other. Consumed by each other's touch, and kiss. They lay there for several hours just holding each other, comforting each other, talking about their future, the kind of ceremony they wanted. Lucas was determined to give Elizabeth the wedding she always dreamed of. They decided to have the ceremony at Bouchard Mansion since it would make travel arrangements easier for everyone.

"Elizabeth, we should get dressed and head to the club. Are you going to play host for me while I go over the books?" He asked sincerely while kissing her hand.

"I suppose I can. What do I do?"

"Just seat people and take their drink orders and give them to the bartender. Be your already welcoming, sweet self. This club is yours too now, you should learn the lay of the land."

"Lucas, this club is so far away. Have you considered selling it?"

"Selling? He questioned. "Why would I want to sell it?"

"I'm just curious, that's all. It is so far away from home."

"I don't spend that much time here, and it brings a significant profit. We should go." He said, changing the subject.

They left headed for the club where they went directly to Lucas's office in the back. "Elizabeth, I need to go over the books. Why don't you go play hostess while I do this. It could take me a bit and you would be very bored."

"Alright. I love you, darling. ยด She said grabbing his lapels and kissing him.

"I will never get tired of this." Lucas winked returning her kiss. "Elizabeth, be careful out there. You are a very beautiful woman. If you run into any trouble, come and get me."

"What do you mean?" She asked curiously.

"This is Miami. Miami is a party town. Men love to hit on beautiful women. You are that. Just be assured, you Mrs. Bouchard belong to me and any man that wishes to hit on my woman will answer to me." He teased pulling her in for a deep, passionate kiss.

"You are adorable Mr. Bouchard." She returned his kiss and headed out front to play host.

Elizabeth opened the doors and began seating people the way she had watched Lucas do many times. Except without all the fancy magic tricks. She loved that about her new husband. He was full of magic and always surprising her. If that was an indication of how the rest of their lives were going to be, she could not wait.

She escorted this refined woman and her friend to a table. "Welcome to Bouchard's over Miami. I am Elizabeth Bouchard and will be your host this evening. Can I get you ladies something to drink?"

"Did you say Bouchard? That is an uncommon name. Any relation to the owner?"

"Yes, Lucas is my husband." Elizabeth explained.

The lady covered her mouth in shock. "Where is Lucas? You get him right now." The lady demanded.

"He is very busy going over the books and would not appreciate the interruption." Elizabeth remarked.

"Elizabeth Bouchard. You tell my son his mother is out here and needs to talk to him right now."

Elizabeth froze where she stood. "You are Lucas's mother?"

"Yes, and apparently he has been keeping secrets from me."

Elizabeth knocked on the office door. "Come in!" He yelled.

"Lucas's darling, you are wanted out front."

"Elizabeth, I am in the middle of this, and it is hard to stop in the middle. Is this not something you can manage?"

"I don't think so, it's your mother."

"Wait what? My Mother? What did you tell her?"

"I kind of spilled the beans when I introduced myself." She informed him.

"Oh no this is going to be bad." He said grabbing her by the hand and taking her back out with him.

"Mother!" He said as he pulled out a rose and kissed her cheek.

"Lucas, my dear it would appear you have been keeping secrets from me. Please explain how you could get married without inviting your family. You are my only son. I have waited for years for this moment, and I don't even get to share it with you. Lucas did you get her pregnant?" She lectured.

"Mother, of course not. Let me get Tessa to make us a special dinner and we can catch up."

"I can not believe you came all the way to Miami and weren't even going to see your father and I."

"Mother, let's have dinner and then I will explain everything."

He took them to the back to his office and asked Tessa to send in a special meal. "Lucas, I will wait outside. Let me know when you are done." Elizabeth said not wanting to intrude on a mother and son moment.

"Elizabeth, you need to be here too. Stay." Lucas demanded.

"Mother how about some champagne while I explain." Lucas poured them all a glass.

"I suppose. Apparently, we need to celebrate your marriage." She said bitterly.

"Mother, Elizabeth and I met almost seven months ago. I fell hard and fast for her. We are not getting any younger and I am busy. I decided I didn't want to leave her anymore. So, I asked her to marry me. We got married yesterday. I love her beyond measure. We are going to have a ceremony back in San Francisco when we get back tomorrow and invite all our friends and family. If you and father would be on the first flight out to the mansion, we will be having a ceremony in a few weeks, and you can help Elizabeth's parents with the planning. In fact, if you can get on our flight we are leaving in the morning. We have an 8:00 am flight to San Francisco."

"Your father will not be able to get away so soon. We will be out as soon as we can. Welcome to the family Elizabeth. You are very beautiful. Son, you have chosen well."
