Marshall was in his cave floating around trying to process what happened after the concert.

He and Fionna didn't get a chance to talk since right after he confirmed he knew about the breakup and that he had feelings for her, both of them were pushed away by their fans.

Once people realized Fionna was there too she unfortunately had her own fanbase to deal with. Of course this only made them more irritated at Kyle.

They need a plan.

A glorious prank to teach him a lesson.

BUT that would mean talking with her and he has no idea on how she's processing any of this.

He floats up to the cave ceiling and starts kicking the stalactites a few fall and he hears a startled noice.

"Hey dead for brains watch where you're kicking those!"

Another started to fall but he caught it in time, "Sorry Bun I didn't see you down there!"

He floats down...then doesn't do anything. He's just there. In front of her. Saying nothing. Doing nothing...Holding a stalactite.

With the wonderfully awkward atmosphere now Fionna doesn't know how to start.

She came over to check on him cause while her fans were a pain they were usually respectful...whereas Marshall's got a bit, well, handsy...

She held her arm and rocked on her feet, "Sooo you ok?"

He nods.

Amazing dude. Really holding the conversation here.

"Ummm, do you want to talk about-" She saw the panic rise in him and quickly diverted, "-about Kyle? You know we definitely need to get him back.

He visibly relaxed and softened his expression, "Yeah he needs a good lesson. Did you have any ideas?"

"Well, I'm thinking somewhere in between putting all his belongings in jello and dragging his bed into the ocean."

"Ok, ok how about we give it some layers?"

"Like?" She raised her eyebrow and leaned in.

He didn't shy away, "What if we...gift wrap everything, put that in jello, AND instead on the ocean we put glasses of water leading up to, surrounding, and ON his bed."

"Hmmm sounds like a lot of work. Think we can get the other boys in on it?"

He grinned, "Oh for sure."

She smiled, "Your bringing the pointy rock with you?"

"His name is Bob, we have grown quite close, I'll have you know." He joked.

The prank went perfectly. The boys made the jello and just so Kyle couldn't eat his way out of it, they made it a horrible mix of black licorice, blue raspberry, banana, and salt...a lot of salt.

He also decided to leave Bob as a present blocking the front door.

Kyle did spam everyone asking what the hell he did. They just put him on mute and carried on with their days. Leaving Fionna and Marshall Lee on their own walking back to the cave.

She really wants to talk about it. She doesn't know how.

Marshall takes a deep breath, "So..."

"So?"

"I know you want to talk. I can practically hear you thinking."

"Oh, yeah." She rubbed one of her bunny ears and laughed very nervously. "But I don't want to push it if you, well, if you're not ready to talk about it."

He couldn't help the shy smile from appearing, "That's sweet Fi, but if we wait till I'm ready we might as well wait for the death of the universe."

"Oh" She sounded disappointed

"Not that- I just-ugh." He put his hand over his face in a poor attempt of hiding, "I meant I'm just extremely anxious and don't want to loose you. So I may never actually bring it up on my own cause I am terrified."

"The great King of the Nightosphere is 'terrified' over what some silly human girl will say?" She attempted humor.

Marshall knew it was supposed to be a joke but he needed her to know just how gone he is. He takes a glance at her then he looks up at the sky. As much as he wants to look her in the eyes and tell her he just can't. At least not right now.

"Fionna, you were never a silly human girl to me. You were always my bunny. I don't even know when it started, I was in the middle before I knew it began. Bun." He gently moves a stray hair from her eyes, "I don't want you to force yourself to date me. I don't even want you to give me a 'chance' because if you do you need to know I'm in for the long haul. And if we date and you realize I'm not it and want to leave me I'd let you."

He looks to her and sees her staring at him with the biggest eyes, she's trying hard not to cry.

A stray tear slips and he wipes it away with his thumb, "But I don't think I'd be able to be around you after knowing your touch only to never have it again."

He moves back only for her to grab his hand.

"No you do not get to say all of that and just leave! You're making up hypotheticals that no one can guarantee. If you're worried on me pitying you I won't! I'm not!"

"Fion-"

"And another thing what makes you think I wouldn't be in it for the long run. Who are you to have audacity to say such lovely things to me only for you to shoot down any development before we give it a chance!?"

He cups her face and leans in very slightly.

"It's still way too soon, Ba-Bun. You have a lot of stuff to think about and take in."

She refused to look at him and huffed.

"Please give it time. I'd like for you to be careful with my heart."

That's when she noticed. She looked and studied him. She heard the rawness in his voice. When she looked in his eyes she allowed herself the smallest gasp. They're glassy. He is doing his damnedest not to cry.

Instead of more insisting and such on her end she simply held his hand and let her free hand rise to his shoulder, then just under his chin. She went up on her tiptoes and pressed a whisper of a kiss to his cheek.

He's not sure if she meant to do that. He feels like his heart is going to explode from the rigorous beating in his chest.

Then she says something that makes him loose his breath and made time still.

"I will be. I promise."
