Naruto liked to kill.

It was something written down in the deepest code of his DNA. Blood was beautiful. It was red and warm. It could become black and cold. It flowed and pooled, thickened and congealed . It could be sticky or slick. It was beautiful. He loved blood.

Pain was another thing he liked. A happy smiling face turned to one filled with fear made his heart race. It was the tension in the brows, the trembling lips, how a pupil could dilate into a little pin shaking like a bean in a rattle.

That's why he enjoyed being so nice. Making so many friends.

When he invited them over and brought them to his room. They'd play some videos games and drink some beer. And then he would lock the door.

And smile so big.

It was the best thing when he could flip the switch. He'd dig his hand into their chest and smile while the terror washed over them.

That's what he wanted to do to Sakura today. He wanted that stupid happy little face to be ruined. To smash it in and destroy it. He wanted to drag her to Hell and smile.

As the world stopped tumbling it began to fall back into place

Sasuke looked around curiously at the new surroundings. They were in front of a old decrepit merry-go-round, a small circus tent off to the far left and a dingy yellow gate a few meters off seemed to encase the perimeter of the area.

Before he could take in the rest of the small park Hinata crashed into his side and he haphazardly fumbled to grab her shoulders. She breathed deep and slow, her hand cradling her throbbing forehead.

"You good?"

"Yeah, I just used a lot of energy…"

With a huff he gathered the trembling girl into his arms and walked over to the merry-go-round, taking a seat on the cold metal contraption.

Hinata's head rested on his lap and he hesitated before placing his cool hand in replace of her on her forehead. She sighed, eyes fluttering momentarily before closing back shut.

Sasuke couldn't help but think about how he had wanted to kill her.

For months on end he had been planning to corner this girl and kill her. Cut her and drink her…

That desire had quickly fizzled out but that idea was still something he turned over and around in his head.

He wanted to pinpoint the time where he changed. When he started thinking he was capable enough to kill.

Killing Itachi was different. He felt like anybody who watched their parents die would feel the same way. But when did he decide that killing somebody like Hinata would be justified?

His fingers gently brushed her bangs to the side.

And that's when he noticed it

It was incredibly faint, and probably invisible to the normal eye, but his eyes weren't so normal anymore. A pale green symbol ghostlike in appearance staining her supple ivory skin. It seemed to shimmer. His finger traced along the swirling lines, studying its faint shape.

What was that?

He decided it would not be ok to kill Hinata. Why? He wasn't sure.

Letting his hand fall he looked up to the sky. He could kill Sakura though. He could kill her and not feel a thing. He could probably still kill Naruto if he really wanted too, might feel a little bitter over it but not much…

Was he like Sakura? Could he understand the darkness that was withheld? That darkness burning so deeply that no one would notice…

Maybe she shouldn't have used that teleportation spell. Usually something like that would be fine but that woman was eating at her, sucking away more than she thought.

Hinata's mind twisted and swirled into the black mist void.

I want him

Give me my king

My king

The hollowed voice echoed throughout the mist. Beaconing her deeper into its darkness.

My king

My king

My king

With each call Hinata fought to turn away. Her hand reached out, scratching at the void. She needed to get out. Now.

The murky black began to peel away at the edges. The voice slowly subsiding into a far off bell. Hinata clawed her way up, her pace quicking as the black squeezed and conformed to her body. There was her break through.

With one last burst of energy her hand shot up grabbing at the light

"Ow you bitch! Let go!"

With a fist full of blonde hair Hinata's eyes finally began to focus.

Naruto angrily grabbed her hands trying to wrench them from her tight clasp on his hair.

"Oh! S-sorry Naruto kun!" Releasing her death grip Hinata pulled herself up using Sasuke's thighs as a boost.

Naruto angrily glared at her but didn't say a word.

"Sakura will be here soon." Sasuke sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "I can smell her."

Bringing herself to her feet Hinata stretched side to side, cracking her neck and shoulders.

"Alright. Lets get ready." Turning to the dark haired boy she offered out her hand. "You're coming with me Sasuke."

Before they could make their way to the hiding spot Naruto marched in front of her, grabbing Hinata by the neck, lifting her feet from the ground from the force of his rage.

"This better work Witch, or it'll be you i'm ripping apart tonight." Naruto spat with a glare.

Hinata felt her eyes gloss over as Naruto squeezed tighter, his growing claws dug into her skin and eyes glowed red with anger. Blood began to pool and drip down the blond's fingers

She couldn't even sputter out a word before Sasuke grabbed Naruto's forearm , retching it from her neck.

With a strangled gasp Hinata stumbled to her feet, nearly collapsing.

"Aww come on Sasuke gimme a break!" Naruto laughed, pulling his arm away. Naruto smirked, licking his slightly chapped lips. "I was only teasing"

Sauske just rolled his eyes, turning to face the girl with a now bloodied neck. He expected her to look at least angry but she had a cheek splitting smile and a dangerous tomato red blush consuming her face.

"Don't tempt me N-Naruto kun" She whispered, running her fingers over her lips.

Naruto seemed to shudder like a startled cat before glaring at the girl.

"Your no fucking fun." With a huff Naruto turned his back to the pair, making his way towards the decrepit circus tent. "That crazy bitch is all you man!" Naruto called over his shoulder, throwing up the peace sign.

Sasuke felt like hopping off a cliff. What had he gotten himself into.

Hinata pouted as Naruto disappeared into the tent.

"He must've been mad I grabbed his hair."

Sasuke snorted. "I'm pretty sure you gave him a bald spot somewhere."

With a dejected sigh Hinata reached out and grabbed Sasuke's hand. "Lets go hide you. Sakura will show up any minute now."
