After blasting off, Jessie, James and Meowth landed in a forest region, more precisely on top of a tree. Night was already settling in the region.

A few seconds after the fall, they began to complain among themselves.

"Why did you do that, Meowth?" Jessie questioned, heading to Meowth.

"Excuse me, folks; I couldn't resist the temptation…" Meowth replied.

"Just when we were so close to beating them for the first time in a Pokémon fight, these two guys show up and destroy our chance!" complained James. "Besides, we hadn't done anything wrong and yet the twerps still treated us like villains."

"Unfortunately, this world is full of injustice." said Jessie, in a partially disappointed tone. "Even when we do something honest, we are doomed to failure."

After Jessie's last speech, the group started to go down the tree they were in.

Upon reaching the ground, they began to walk and did so for some time. They didn't notice that there was a Pokémon following them.

After some time walking, the group found a cave near a hill.

"Guys, look!" Said Meowth, pointing to the cave.

"That looks like a great place to spend the night." Said Jessie. "Let's go!"

One of Jessie's PokéBalls opened, revealing Wobbuffet, who said:

"Woo-buffet!"

Immediately, the group headed for the the cave.

Upon reaching the cave, they noticed some kind of lighting emanating from somewhere there.

"Why would there be light in a cave at night?" pondered James, in a slightly fearful tone.

"Probably someone lives here." Jessie replied. "Whoever it is, we need a place to sleep, so we're going into the cave."

Before entering the cave, they took a quick look at the interior: a wing with perfectly spherical rock walls, which connected with another illuminated path.

As they entered it, they heard a sound coming from behind them:

"Beee!"

When they looked back, they saw a Celebi at a distance of approximately three meters from them.

"What are you doing there?" questioned Jessie, in an angry tone.

"Beeee!" Said Celebi.

"He's saying we shouldn't enter this place." Translated Meowth.

"We are Team Rocket and we go wherever we want!" retorted Jessie. "Let's go, guys!"

As she said that, both she and Meowth started to run towards the interior of the cave.

However, James stood where he was, picking up two PokéBalls.

"Weezing and Victreebel, get out of your PokéBalls!" he said as he threw them forward.

"Weeze!" Weezing yelled as he got out of his Poké Ball.

Coming out of his Poké Ball, Victreebel didn't try to bite James' head.

"James, don't do this!" yelled Jessie.

"Let's go, Jim!" Said Meowth.

"Go ahead; I will distract him long enough for you to discover what is so special about this cave." replied James.

Hesitantly, Jessie and Meowth began to run into the cave, towards the mysterious light they had seen earlier.

After they were out of sight, James faced Celebi.

"If you want to go after my friends, you'll have to defeat us first!" He said. "Victreebel, use the vine whip attack! Weezing, use the mud attack!"

Immediately, the two Pokémon used their respective attacks, targeting the opposing Pokémon, which was able to dodge both attacks with ease.

•••••••••••

As they ran through the cave, they talked to each other.

"I'm worried about James." Said Meowth. "Should we go back and help him?"

"He can handle himself." Jessie replied, trying to sound confident. "Besides, we have to find out what secret this place hides."

"Right." Said Meowth, in a slight hesitation tone.

The two continued following the illuminated path until they reached a curve to the left.

As they rounded the curve, they stopped running, amazed at what they saw on the wing adjacent to the curve.

The rocky walls of the place were perfectly circular, similar to those in the first wing of the cave. In the center of the place, there were two benches, one with an artifact resembling a key and the other with a kind of large box that contained a lock.

Still stunned, Jessie and Meowth started talking again as they approached the stands.

"What are those things?" asked Meowth.

"No idea, but the lock and the artifact fit." Jessie reflected. "Let's put them together to find out what's going to happen."

As she said this, she took the artifact and, with a little bit of hesitation, fitted it into the lock of the box.

Upon doing so, the box soon opened on its own, revealing what was inside: a small-sized Pokémon, colored black underneath and white on top. At that moment, that Pokémon appeared to be sleeping, although both Jessie and Meowth were perplexed.

Moments after the box was opened, the cave they saw began to gradually disappear, releasing some sort of white particles.

"What's going on here?" Meowth asked in a distressed tone.

•••••••••••

By that time, Celebi had already defeated both of James' Pokémon, who soon returned to their Poké Balls.

Soon after, James faced the opposing Pokémon and had already started to open its mouth to speak when, suddenly, the cave began to disappear, releasing white particles that dissipated within seconds. This left him both amazed and distressed.

"What…?" he said, still distressed.

When the cave completely disappeared, he managed to see where his friends were and ran after them, shouting:

"Jessie, Meowth, are you okay?"

As he ran, Celebi followed close behind.

Hearing James' scream, Jessie and Meowth quickly turned around, seeing their partner approaching.

When they got together, they soon started talking to each other.

"James! Why did you do that?" questioned Jessie

"You left us worried." Said Meowth.

"I did what had to be done." replied James.

Although Jessie and Meowth were grateful to James, the two were unwilling to accept the idea of seeing him in danger.

"Thanks." Jessie said shyly.

After a few seconds of silence, they resumed their conversation.

"What happened to that Celebi we found earlier, Jim?" asked Meowth.

"When I saw the cave disappearing, I didn't pay attention to that Pokémon, I just ran to see if you guys were okay." replied James.

At that moment, he noticed an artifact in his friend's left hand.

"What is that in your hand?" he asked in a curious tone, pointing to the artifact.

"This is some sort of key Meowth and I use to open this box that-" Jessie replied, turning to the box. Upon noticing that the strange Pokémon was no longer there, she soon became visibly worried. "There was a Pokémon sleeping inside the box. Now, he is no longer in it!"

Before James and Meowth became distressed, the two saw a strange Pokémon floating towards the amulet.

"Jessie, behind you!" said James, distressed.

Before she could turn around, the Pokémon made her drop the amulet using a psychic move.

Moments later, she noticed that her left hand opened, releasing the mysterious object, which soon began to float towards the mysterious creature.

"How dare this creature steal our artifact?!" said Jessie, in an angry tone.

"That isn't yours!" Said James. "Give it back!"

At that moment, the three heard a strange voice.

"Fools! This is an extremely important and dangerous artifact for me." Said the voice, which seemed to come from the Pokémon.

"What do you mean with important and dangerous?" asked Meowth.

Though hesitant at first, the creature soon replied:

"A long time ago, I lived a painful life. Even if I helped other people or other Pokémon several times, for some reason, everyone distrusted me, to the point in which they even hated me.

"One day, a man, accompanied by a Pokémon, created an indestructible box that allowed him to trap me inside it, locking me with this key that, in the end, turns out to be very important to me and, at the same time, dangerous."

After hearing the story of that Pokémon, Jessie, James and Meowth were visibly saddened.

"In our history, there have also been several events where we did something not bad…" Jessie said.

"…and yet we were still treated like villains." completed James.

At that moment, the black and white Pokémon spoke again:

"Many humans and Pokémon have been cruel to me in the past, so I will take revenge on everyone, starting with you!"

Upon saying this, the Pokémon soon used its Psychic Attack to levitate Jessie, James, and Meowth.

"You do not have to do this!" Said James, just as he felt something gripping his back.

"We can be friends-" Before Meowth could finish his sentence, they were soon thrown into the sky.

"Not again!" they shouted in unison.
