"well Tori, how is your first day back, people missed you, I know I certainly do" says Rosie
"is today the first day you're wearing a dress at school or is it just me people are staring at" asks Tori
"a little bit of both, it's spooky season, nearing Halloween so I can claim I'm in costume, it's allowed me to see how people would react, anyway let's get some lunch, to work at your best you need food" says Rosie
"where's Jade" asks Tori slightly disoriented from all the attention she's gotten today
"talking to Lane, explaining my new outfit in the confidential manner" says Rosie
"you know I don't understand why you have to hide it" says Tori as they wait in line at the food truck
"I have a reason to hide who I am just like you have the innate fear that just because you don't look like the girls in magazines that you can't possibly be the prettiest girl at this school, Beck hasn't said a word, I may hate his guts for how he treated Jade before you got together with Jade but that doesn't mean his opinion doesn't matter" says Rosie as they move to the front of the line
"hello Robbie, Tori, what can I get for you today" asks Festus as Tori becomes exceedingly nervous
"I'll have ravioli and Tori will have the salad, extra lettuce and dressing on the side please" says Robbie
"what the music princess can't order for herself, that would be new" asks Festus unintentionally insulting Tori
"Festus, this is her first day back since the memory thing, she's overwhelmed, also don't you dare insult her" says Rosie
"I in no way meant to insult Tori, I just thought she should order herself, is she no longer queen of this school, she tamed the tyrant" says Festus defensively as he writes down the orders
"ok fine then, unless you whip that food up in the next few minutes Tori needs to sit down" says Rosie
"I bring to regular table, go, sit, don't exhaust Queen's energy" says Festus shooing Rosie and Tori to their table
"Tori you don't know how glad I am that you're back, it hasn't been the same" says Andre
"it's been weird, I barely remember anyone, there are still things I don't remember, Girlie here has been helping me, along with Cutie" says Tori as Andre nods
"speaking of that, Robbie how would you like us to refer to you as, Robbie or Rosie" asks Andre hugging both Cat and Paige
"until I'm ready Robbie is fine, especially at school, in private situations you can call me Rosie, when did Paige start going here, I thought she was restarted at PCA as a remote student" says Rosie
"she is still enrolled as a remote learning student, unfortunately she gets bored easily, today is her first day of what Dean Rivers calls interactive remote learning, Lucy has begun a similar program, she should be here soon to spend the afternoon tailing Cat to classes while working on her own work" says Andre as Lucy walks over with Beck
"sorry I'm late mom, I got lost" says Lucy
"Beck I told you to stay away from her" says Cat walking over and sitting Lucy down beside Paige
"I didn't have a choice, she ran into Lane and wouldn't leave his side, he didn't have time to bring her out here, he begged me to bring her to you, she's your little sister, I'm confused as to why she calls you mom" says Beck
"after our family died in a car crash we were on our own, I was six and she was one at the time of the car crash, child protective services gave us a home for a year while they attempted to find family that would take us, after that year with no responses saying 'yes we'll take them' Child protective services taught me at seven years old how to bottle feed Lucy, then sent us on our way with nothing but the clothes we had on us, a bag with several containers of formula, a baby bottle and my mom's phone, of which I barely knew how to use, they released us in Malibu and I headed in the direction of where I thought LA was as that's where we were moving from, anyway for several years it was just Lucy and I, no mom, no dad, no brother, I begged for money to keep her alive, never having more than enough to buy me more than junk food after paying for her formula and then later baby food, as far as Lucy was concerned I was her mom, I did more than any kid should have done or would have done in my position, when my aunt finally found us and took us in Lucy was terrified of her, as of right now Aunt Valerie is still unwilling to compromise so that Lucy can feel safe around her, as a result I AM the mother figure in her life again" says Cat as Lucy hugs her tightly as Tori suddenly remembers something as she sees someone that looks like her walking towards them
"ok so this might be awkward but my sister is coming to visit and I guess she decided to stop by at school" says Tori
"the only sister we know of is Trina and she already goes here, though we never found out how she got in" says Rosie
"Ros…. Robbie, remember I told you about Maddie, or maybe I called her Maddellie, she's my twin sister, there were complications when she was born and our mom just told the doctors 'I don't want no sick baby, find somewhere to send her when she's better, I don't want her', our dad apparently found someone to take her where she'd be safe, Beck, she's free real estate, oh and she's a model" says Tori
"why would you describe her like that" asks Beck
"because she's currently unattached and is the only one of us Vega siblings that will date boys, think fast" says Tori turning to her food as Maddie arrives
"hey sis, is the flowing hair kid taken" asks Maddie
"nope" says Tori quickly responding and returning to her lunch
"I take the time to travel all the way from Paradise up north and you only give me one syllable, come on its been three years, can't you forgive me, it was a joke" says Maddie
"last time I checked calling me miss poopy pants is not a joke, I didn't trust public toilets, you try driving from LA to New York city not using a single public bathroom next time, see how you like it" says Tori
"ok ok I'm sorry, you can be very secretive, anyway there's a big fashion show in LA this week and I need a plus one, is flowy available" says Maddie
"why don't you ask him" says Tori again paying attention to her food
"flowy, would you attend the fashion show with me" asks Maddie awkwardly
"what's the catch" asks Beck
"a pretty model on your arm and cuddling with me in my hotel room every night this week, why does nobody trust me" says Maddie
"your sister doesn't seem to trust you, if I've learned anything from her it's that if she doesn't trust someone then there's a reason" says Beck as Maddie backs away slightly
"oh give it a break Beck, if I didn't trust her I'd have said so, if she's asking its because she's interested in more than just a week with you, there's a reason she's single, despite being the most well known between Trina, Maddie and I, she happens to be the most nervous when it comes to crushes, if you thought Trina was bad, Maddie will more often than not talk to her crush but the moment they communicate back her jaw drops and she remains speechless, she's trying to prevent that by going through me instead of talking to you directly" says Tori
"do you do anything other than modelling Maddie" asks Beck
"I'm pretty good with a bow and arrow but the modelling agency doesn't want people to know, I'm also pretty flexible, I considered joining the circus when I was little because of my various talents" says Maddie
"Tori, she's your sister, is it ok to accept her offer" asks Beck clearly showing he respects her opinion
"I honestly don't care what you chose, as long as you don't get her killed like you almost got Jade killed during that police confrontation, remember that situation and learn from it" says Tori
"fair enough, so Maddie, when does the fun start" says Beck
"after you leave school, it's a high class event, basically the first two days are fundraising, you need a suit and tie, if you don't have one I will get you one" says Maddie
"does it have to be a well fitting suit" asks Beck
"that would be preferable, if you already have one we can always get it altered real quick, it's important" says Maddie
"it's only a little tight, meet me here after school" says Beck
"oh I'm not leaving, I had to enter the city under an assumed name, the paparazzi found me in Malibu, I had to lose them, they'll find me, I talked to a councillor Lane and I'm staying in his office till the end of the day, I'll have to leave in your car" says Maddie
"my car is a classic, it's probably not any less flashy than your car" says Beck
"is it less noticeable than a Porsche nine-eleven Carerra" asks Maddison
"that's an expensive car, mine was expensive but nowhere close to that expensive, though it could use a new paint job so it might run you under the radar as long as you're ok with sitting in seats that need replacing" says Beck as the bell rings
"it is acceptable now go, don't miss class, I don't need my fashion show date missing out because he got detention" says Maddie
Later that night in Maddie's hotel room with Beck
"you were very beautiful on that runway Maddie, you owned it" flatters Beck
"thank you, however something's been bugging me since the words left my sister's mouth, how did you almost get her girlfriend killed" says Maddie as Beck sighs
"why did I know that would come back around, at the time Jade was my girlfriend, had been for two years, she'd been diagnosed with PTSD, the usual medication did not work without nasty side effects for Jade, she was prescribed medicinal pot, at the time my parents did not believe that pot could be used to help people, even if legally prescribed, they'd called the police on her, when the police arrived her and I were arguing, I'd said some things I shouldn't have, setting the police off and they aimed the guns at her head, ready to fire, I suddenly reversed my wording and at the same time my parents came out, they ordered the police to put their guns down, that they don't want Jade dead, they wanted Jade to explain the pot use to the police, Jade showed them her medicinal pot card and the cops calmed down, looked at the card and left, Jade broke up with me stating that no amount of love was worth nearly being killed by police, a week later Tori arrived, Jade tried to intimidate her but it didn't work, Tori wasn't intimidated, Tori bit Jades nose, the rest is history between them, my mistake was the worst mistake I'd ever made sure but I've never seen Jade happier than she is with Tori" says Beck
"I have severe anxiety, I'm also on medicinal pot, medication often only makes it worse for me, I'm not going to end up in the same situation am I" says Maddie
"my parents have changed their views since then, my dad works in the police industry, he's a manager of the company that makes the handcuffs that the LAPD use, after that incident Valerie, the undisputed hard on crime police chief told them to spend some time with Cat, who at the time was a PCA student on Christmas break, there was a pause on her edible delivery because of supply issues, they were terrified about how scared Cat was to talk to them, then during spring break there was another meeting, of which Cat was on her edible prescription, they noticed the major change in visible fear, Valerie explained to them how Cat's fear was basically wiped out by the edibles, that it was important for those that react badly to medications to find any way possible to help them medicate, even if it meant being prescribed edibles or as Cat calls the other option smokables, my parents realized just how wrongly they judged Jade, they issued a written apology and offered her a check of four hundred dollars, a check which she declined by the way, may I ask why three years ago you and Tori went from here to New York City" says Beck
"it was my first big modelling gig, I was allowed to invite three people, I chose my dad, Tori and Trina, I was excited, I said things I absolutely should not have, Tori doesn't understand just how important that was for me, I went from making ten dollars a day, seventy dollars a show here in LA, showing off clothes made by small upstart companies, it was always fun but my anxiety medication was far from affordable, every penny I made went to pay off the medication 'tab' the pharmacy let me have so I could take the medication, that show, I was being paid five figures every day, fifteen grand a day, for the first time in my life dad didn't have to borrow money to help pay for my medication, for the first time in my life I didn't have to worry about Tori and Trina being safe, dad could start paying his bills and pay off his debts" says Maddie
"why not take a plane, wouldn't that have been faster" asks Beck
"neither Tori nor I trusted planes, Tori didn't trust that the cabin was safe from decompression and I didn't trust the engines, I was provided with plane tickets but only Trina used it" says Maddie
"I must admit you didn't wear much on that runway, it didn't leave much to the imagination" says Beck
"the donor section is always a little risky when it comes to clothing, they push a new line of clothing, usually lingerie, it's a look but don't touch situation, the agency that I'm with, they have a zero tolerance for touching the younger range of models, the last time a donor tried, they were sued out of existence and served ten years in jail, which is why I agreed when they asked me to model for them, since then there has been a warning light that lights up when a young model is about to make her walk down the runway, it's a message that says 'we know her age, if you even attempt to romance them you will be sued', as a result most donors turn away when that light turns on, though the plus ones are encouraged to enjoy the show" says Maddie
"is that why you played with your top when you saw me looking" asks Beck
"a little but this was the first time I felt comfortable walking that runway in lingerie so me playing with it was also a bit of my anxiety showing, the lingerie I was wearing doesn't actually show as much as it looked like, while it did show my bottom lips in form, the lingerie me and the other minor models were wearing were altered to allow it to be less noticeable" says Maddie
"ok I have to ask, what's your full name" says Beck as Maddie chuckles
"you absolutely do not" jokes Maddie
"if you're serious about this being more than a one week dalliance then I absolutely do" says Beck as he nuzzles Maddie
"Madeleine Francesca Melody Vega, I prefer to be called Maddie though, people often make a point to mispronounce my first name when they find out how it's spelt, would you really willingly date me" says Maddie as her anxiety rises
"Maddie, you're easily a ten, I'm at best an eight, you could have chosen any guy, you chose me, I would be stupid not to at least give us a try, it wouldn't be right" says Beck
"I'd say you're a ten, not an eight" says Maddie
"I removed points for how I treated Jade during that incident, I should have seen what was going on" says Beck
"would you have dated Tori if she'd been open to it, Tori and I are identical twins, you can't have feelings for me and there not be some sort of crossover" asks Maddie
"IF she had been open to boys yes I'd have at least tried but it was obvious pretty quick that she was more interested in Jade, Jade has a tendency to be territorial, once she got a taste of Tori's affection she wanted to make sure nobody Tori from her, she had our principal declare Tori off limits to every other boy or girl, it made Tori feel safe, I'm not sure your dad realizes the sacrifice you're making, I don't think Tori does either" says Beck
"I don't understand what you mean, what sacrifice" says Maddie
"you got a big modelling gig so that your dad didn't have to dive into debt, you send Tori money so that she can buy lunches every day, she used to say "my sister sent me money for lunch", we assumed she meant Trina, Trina doesn't have the cash flow, it's clear to me now that she meant you" says Beck
"lately it HAS been Trina, I'm the victim of identity theft, people are spending money in my name, a lawyer controls my income flow, I only get a hundred dollars a week, most of that goes to gas, on state police advice I'm finally moving back to LA so they can get a better view of what's me and what isn't" says Maddie
"so based on that the state police noticed a pattern" asks Beck
"yes, while I was on tour doing a butt ton of fashion shows last year, a credit card was being used in my name, spending money I don't have, tanking the credit score I've been building up since I was thirteen , yes I had a credit card at thirteen, as a model It is essentially required to have a good credit rating, whoever it is, is ruining my career" says Maddie
"that's very early" says Beck
"maybe but because of my age when I started modelling they want to keep track of my spending patterns, basically to make sure I don't fall into any scam or financial trap, by keeping an eye on my spending they're keeping my money secure" says Maddie
"would you move in with me, I mean you need a place to stay" asks Beck
"not like I really have a choice, the moving van should arrive tomorrow, during the time I'll be on the catwalk, they're stopping by the fashion show hoping they can catch me to ask where to send it but chances are I'll be too busy, which is the major reason I wanted a plus one, the place knows there will be someone asking for me to ask where to send my stuff, if it's ok with you I'll tell them to send you out" says Maddie feeling slightly more comfortable and safe
"how much stuff is there, it might not all be able to go to my house if there's a lot, my uncle gave me a trailer to live in because my parents were a little strict on how long I can be awake for at night during the week" says Beck
"it could have fit in my car, I don't actually have a lot of property, our grandma was living with me, the pillow Tori absolutely guards against anyone messing up, that was the last pillow she ever made, the last thing I ever got was a five by five inch blanket, she never got to finish it, she was cremated, in the moving boxes labeled grandma are four urns, one for Tori, one for Trina, one me and one for dad, she's been gone two years and I've been too scared to bring them anywhere because I'm an extremely anxious person and could never have brought them myself, it would have taken me weeks and I'd be a crying mess by the time i get here… are you sure your parents will be ok with me living with you" says Maddie, showing that she is just as insecure as Tori, if not more
"they'll be flattered believe me, I have to ask, what are your expectations for the relationship between us" says Beck
"the people I date tend to get tired of me, that's from four examples, two of them were models themselves, two girls two guys, the girls remained interested the longest, all four relationships lasted less than half a year each, I don't have expectations, outside my modelling, society has proven to me that expectations never work, I never get treated fairly, the only person that ever exceeded my expectations was granny Victoria Rodriguez-Diaz, she was a unit, she was maybe the most open minded, supportive person I've ever had the honor to know, she was ninety-three when she died and she died of old age, she was awarded with several awards for being the healthiest person in Paradise, California, one award per year for seven years, the young like me basically worshipped her, she wasn't just fit but she listened to people, she considered people's opinion, she gave amazing advice, her death completely shocked Paradise, it hasn't been the same since" says Maddie
"ok let's cuddle, tomorrow is an early day, donors in the morning and public show after lunch, you need sleep" says Beck getting closer to Maddie in the bed they're sharing
"I need to know if you get bored of people you have feelings for….. I just realized I can't just stay in your RV all day every day, am I allowed to visit my family" asks Maddie
"why ask like that….. Have the people you dated before treated you like property" asks Beck
"I mean if I'm being honest, outside of our houses, me and my sisters were treated like property by white people, people like Andre almost always treated us as equals, if you weren't one of Tori's friends I'd have never EVER approached you without checking with Tori, Cat, Andre or Jade first" says Maddie
"but you did ask Tori" says Beck
"no, I simply asked if you were taken, I'd have been extremely guilty asking you to essentially chaperone me for the week if you had made a commitment to someone else romantic wise, that kind of thing is important to me, I never ask favors of guys or girls that are already dating, I see it as criminal like behaviour, as if I was asking you or any romantically committed person to cheat on their significant other, I did that once by accident and I was so embarrassed I had a mask on the entire week" says Maddie
"you know you and your sisters are of a different class, few would be bold enough to ask Tori out and few are tolerant enough to ask Trina out, few would be confident enough to talk to you, last question, how much do you actually know about your sisters friends" says Beck
"Trina has friends, yeah right, the only one bold enough for that is Kei, as for Tori I had general descriptions of her friends but never anything identifying like names, that's why I called you flowey, Andre was 'music man genius', Cat was 'sweet, adorable redhead', for a bit Jade was 'sweet upset girl', only to quickly learn her name as they got together, Tori has a thing about protecting her friends identities" says Maddie snuggling closer to Beck
"what are the chances you and Tori are autistic, both you and Tori do similar things when you get nervous" asks Beck
"Tori is absolutely autistic, she was diagnosed when we were eight years old, the doctor I had wouldn't even consider it, I was diagnosed with Bipolar two, severe anxiety and mimicry disorder" says Maddie
"what's mimicry disorder" asks Beck
"basically autism without having to administer the autism screening, having 'mimicry disorder' doesn't mean girls mimic people, it's a way of saying 'you stim and it's gross so I'll diagnosis you with something that will stop you from getting the help you actually need', there's a notion among therapists that girls can't be autistic, that it's somehow impossible and it has to be something else, they'll call you Bipolar before they'll even remotely consider diagnosing a girl with autism especially if you don't get the diagnosis as a kid, I'm now on file with the same doctor Tori has and has had since she was eight and will have till we come of age so hopefully she'll get me in for a screening before I turn eighteen because that's when the nonesense starts, Doctors will suddenly out and out refuse to diagnose girls as autistic… do you think I'm autistic" says Maddie
"you said Tori was diagnosed right, yeah you definitely share quite a few autistic traits, the only reason I'm interested is because my little cousin is definitely showing signs of high support needs and her parents aren't doing anything about it, mom and dad want to save her from serious neglect but don't want to take her out of that situation unless they're sure she's autistic, they want to get an autistic girls opinion" says Beck
"ask Tori, explain the situation, she'll most likely tell you to get your cousin out of that situation immediately" says Maddie
"mom and dad won't do anything with her advice unless she confirms she's autistic" says Beck
"getting a diagnosis as a girl is a double edged sword Beck, the positive side of it is that you get extra support from school, the downside is people tend to think you're broken and undesirable, Tori won't admit it, she wants to be a pop star the world over, she's afraid that if people find out she's autistic then her dreams will always be just dreams and will never be a reality, it's always been quite obvious that she's liked girls and wanted to be a star, her two constant fixations were singing and looking at girls in magazines, for a few years growing up she wouldn't speak when you'd ask a question, she'd sing in response, she's always sang, she had a nasty habit of singing Trina to sleep so she could lay on top of her and nap with Trina, it was quite cute actually but Trina eventually got annoyed by it and banned Tori from ever entering her room, Tori didn't take it that well, she'd stopped communicating with anyone but me, she'd take cereal to her room and eat it there, every Friday she'd lock her door so dad couldn't take her to school, same on Monday's, that lasted for almost a year after that, eventually Tori got over it but she came out of it less trusting of people and very insecure, she'd stopped singing, she'd muse about running away, she was never bold enough to actually do it though" says Maddie
"but you didn't live with them, how did you hear all this" asks Beck
"I visited every weekend, grandma made sure of that, I only stopped visiting that often when I got the big modelling gig three years ago but Tori and I still text and video chat" says Maddie
"she didn't seem all that happy to see you when you arrived" says Beck
"that's because I showed up at her school, that wasn't the original plan, the original plan was to head to the house and video call her to ask about asking you to come with me to the fashion show this week, the paparazzi ambush in Malibu changed that plan, I don't know if you noticed but she's pretty on edge right now because of the memory thing, she's more rigid when it comes to plans than she usually is, it's hard adapting to altered plans when you have memory gaps, I'm what she calls a camera magnet and the majority of the time she likes to stay out of the news, anyway it really is getting late, we can talk more tomorrow night" says Maddie
