After school
"hey sis, I heard they caught the identity thief, that means you can model again" says Tori consoling her sister
"the modelling company dropped me, I may be a model but because of the reputation hit no one will hire me, catching the thief only means my credit score won't keep dropping like a rock, I was in the seven hundreds, after this ordeal my credit score is two-fifty, might as well be zero" says Maddie
"you're still dating Beck though right, I haven't seen you as happy as you are with him" asks Tori
"I need him now more than ever but we agreed to me living with him part time, I'm here for the next few days" says Maddie as David walks in
"Mads, I told the state police that the agency dropped you because of the damage to your reputation because of the identity thief, they're going to talk to the agency today, to explain the situation, also as a sign of cooperation the bank here in LA that we use is giving you a credit card and they're talking to the credit people to see if there is any way it can me fixed, even if only by a hundred points" says David
"my career is over dad, nobody would stick their neck out that far for me" says Maddie
"you think I'm the one that convinced the bank to do that, no it was Beck, I think you underestimate just how much he cares, your reputation isn't as damaged as you think, Beck said the bank didn't need that much convincing, your ex girlfriend exploited you, she stole from you, that doesn't mean that nobody cares about you Madeleine, don't dive head first believing you're a failure, because you're not" says David as Beck bursts in
"come on Maddie, we don't have all day" says Beck believing Maddie got his text
"no, whatever it is can wait, we had a deal Beckster, part time with you and part time with my family" says Maddie
"I texted you, I've been waiting in the driveway for ten minutes, did you not get the text" says Beck
"no, my phone's upstairs, I wanted to talk to Tori without distractions" says Maddie
"the credit scoring company, the debt company handing 'your' debt, the bank and the modelling agency came up with a compromise after learning that all that spending while you were doing fashion shows wasn't you, for once the state police actually made the right decision and told all three that they had to make things right, your credit will me scored less harshly than most people until it returns to where it was before it happened, the only thing you have to do is do a fashion show for them, I've picked out several dresses, skirts and even one ball gown, I made it clear to them that if you are brought back in, I must be comfortable with what you're wearing, that they've made you uncomfortable at least a dozen times and that while I'm your boyfriend I will not let you feel uncomfortable, they agreed" says Beck
"Can Tori come with me" asks Maddie
"only if she feels comfortable doing so, while her memories are coming back better than they have been, she still gets jumpy, she has to wear a blindfold in math class because the class is too crowded, she eats her lunch in the black box theatre because the asphalt café is too crowded" says Beck
"I'm going Beck, I have to support her, besides she's only here for three days, today is my day with her, tomorrow is Trina's day and the third day dad took off the spend with her, I'd be foolish not to spend as much time with her as possible, my question is who could make clothes you'd approve of" says Tori as they get up and follow Beck to his car
"Cat, she's trying to be monetarily independent from her aunt, mostly for Lucy's sake, she self drafted some, the modelling agency took notice and said they looked amazing, they've been altered to fit Mads" says Beck as they get in and he starts his car
"there's a fashion show in Vegas next month, would I be going there, would my family be allowed to come" asks Maddie
"you'd be debuting Cat's creations if all goes well so yes and yes we'd all get to come, Cat's excited and is already making a Christmas line in case the agency is impressed with her self drafted designs" says Beck
"in your opinion are her designs good" asks Maddie
"the design is more adult than her usual self drafted designs that she makes for herself but the quality is outstanding, I actually didn't believe she made them but she showed me pictures she took during the process" says Beck
3 hours later back at Tori's as Cat walks in
"I can't tell if they liked the designs or not, did they tell you anything Maddie" says Cat
"they weren't sure about the colors you chose but there loved the overall designs, they want more color options and designs ready for the fashion show in Las Vegas next month" says Maddie
"I was hoping they'd give me a loan to make more, I can't afford to pay Jade back for all the money I've borrowed to get this far" says Cat as Jade walks over with a check
"you do realize Cat that that modelling agency doesn't just do what they did today, I brought you to their attention, in return they're paying me to pay you, you don't owe me anything" says Jade handing Cat the check for a quarter million dollars
"I don't understand, how can you just give me a quarter of a million dollars to buy fabric and stuff to make clothes" asks Cat in complete shock
"because I heard from Andre's dads boss that they'd officially filed charges against Logan and that his court appearance was being fast tracked, that check isn't technically the whole nut as it were, that's just the advance, that's solely for clothing creation, the big LA bank CEO that was in that room watching, he told me that he would foot the bill personally for you to open your own clothing company, he doesn't care about your struggles, he sees an amazing innovative mind and he wants to show the world just how creative you are" says Jade
"but people call me irresponsible, space cadet Cat, I don't think it would be responsible to start a company for my clothing line, nobody will buy them, what's the point, besides no bank would ever let me cash a cheque this big, they'd have the cops come and arrest me before I could even say a word about why I have such a cheque" says Cat visibly nervous without Andre or Paige
"I've already contacted your bank, they're expecting you tomorrow after school, they're opening a business account for you, Andre's dad is building a three room 'guest' house where you can put everything, all of this was set in motion the moment the agency wanted more, calls were made, favors asked, it's happening whether the public thinks you should run a clothing company or not, it doesn't matter what they think, Andre said this is the direction you want to go right now so that's what's happening" says Jade
"how would it work" asks Cat feeling a little safer knowing that Andre was involved in the planning
"Zoey and the other girls, minus Dana are willing to help, turns out you're not the only one who is having trouble keeping fear at arms length when it comes to Logan's possible trial outcome, Lola, despite her antics actually knows how to use a sewing machine, as does Zoey, Nicole knows how to sew" says Beck
"what's with Dana not wanting to help" asks Jade
"she doesn't see helping as a productive use of her time, she's probably the most worried about Logan's trial as technically for a few weeks they were dating in eighth grade, she's afraid his lawyer will spin her pictures as willingly sent not extorted out of her, she's worried she's misremembered things, she's kinda fashioned herself as Lucy's big protective sister, she's worried that misremembering one thing will doom the entire trial to acquit Logan and Lucy won't get justice" says Cat
"what's Dana's significance in the events, she didn't lead him to anyone did she" asks Tori
"she did actually but she couldn't have known at the time, she'd described Lucy's emerald green eyes as being 'as beautiful as diamonds', the ruse Logan used was 'who do you see as the most intelligent on campus, Dana went straight to Lucy, describing how smart she is, it wasn't until Lucy stopped showing up to classes that she realized what happened, she threatened to tell Dean Rivers, he countered that he'd tell Dean Rivers she made him do what he was doing to Lucy if she didn't send him pictures of her naked, she caved, she can be intimidating but he had essentially threatened to implicate her in his crime, he then forced her to give him names of other girls he can exploit, she had little choice, he essentially did everything but hold her at gunpoint, three days had passed before he'd asked for names, by that point he had pictures of her as bargaining chips, it was either give up names or he'd show guys on campus that she can be used and manipulated, Dana's a sports girl, from skateboarding to basketball, sports statistics were her thing, if she'd resisted and Logan released the pictures, her future career would burn to the ground before it started, Logan doesn't like smart girls, he believes 'if you're not a stay at home mom you're never going to find any man treat you right', Dana's grades plummeted, Lola's grades plummeted, Nicole's grades plummeted, Zoë's grades are the only ones that stayed relatively stable even if they were on the decline, Dustin's grades also fell, though not sharply until Lucy disappeared from campus" says Cat
"Lucy didn't seem willing to participate, though she said she supported your choice to make clothes, why is that" asks Jade
"Lucy's not good with her hands, not anymore, her doctor says it's a lingering affect from the repeated body overloads by Logan, there is a very real disconnect between her brain and her arms and legs when noise gets to a certain level, if someone raises their voice even a little there is a very real chance you'd find her on the floor, out cold, you have to understand what that chemical salt did to her, it gave Logan complete control over most body functions, something you'd think wouldn't be possible in real life, that you'd only see it in corn actresses on corn videos online, Quinn accidentally created the real deal, when Logan was raping her he could keep her at climax for hours, imagine what that would do to your body then triple it for her body, he completely ruined her for Dustin, unless someone can find or create something to reverse the damage her relationship with Dustin will never be as cute and adorable she wants it to be, Trisha should have similar issues with noise" says Cat
"Trisha does seem to faint at loud noises but she recovers pretty quickly, aside from being in the living room for online school learning they're usually in their room cuddling, I know this because I have the rule that they must check in with, Trina, Tori, Jade or me every hour, Kei being the only person ever consistently at home she is allowed to do random inspections, they have been caught changing and cuddling half naked but never anything explicitly in adult territory" says David as Trina comes down the stairs
"dad, Kei, Rebecca and Trisha aren't here, I'm worried" says Trina
"they're out getting new clothes, Kei did a load of laundry this morning and the washer died, same as the last one, it destroyed their underwear, they'll be back in a few hours, Kei's having a new washer delivered as well as one specifically for delicates, Kei was very specific about having a separate washer for delicates" says David
"ahh she was talking about that last week, I agree, she said it was especially important that girls Rebecca and Trisha's age have the best chance for the cleanest underwear because it would stop boys from trashing them" says Trina
"hey Cat, I hate to ask but we're you a cheerleader at PCA" asks Jade
"no, why would you ask such a thing" asks Cat, her face looking like she was slapped
"Andre said he found a box labeled 'cheerleader outfit' in the stuff your aunt delivered today"" says Jade as a frown appears on Cat's face
"oh, THAT thing, no I was never an official cheerleader, I failed the game knowledge test, I was a backup cheerleader in case Nicole ever got sick, I've only worn it twice, once the day I got it and once the day Nicole nearly quit after Logan got to her, Nicole managed to pull herself together, if there's anything Lola should be known for its understanding metaphors, I'd passed the cheer routine test therefore I was a cheerleader, for about a week, anyway Lola had asked what I wanted my cheer uniform to be made of, Paige said 'Cat likes hugs', the metaphorical meaning completely flew over my head, Lola had made the inside of it fuzzy so it felt like a hug, then game day came and I completely choked, I forgot where I'd put my uniform, showed up to the game, attempted to cheer anyway and completely screwed everything up, I got to keep the uniform thanks to Logan pressing Lola to let me keep it, I think you know what happened next" says Cat
"wait that's how he got you" asks Tori
"I went to thank him for standing up for me, he locked the door and asked me to show him the outfit on me, I said ok but I needed to change somewhere he wasn't, he said he'd close his eyes and I trusted him, he watched me as I changed, by the time I'd noticed I was already in my cheer outfit and he'd sneakily taken my clothes, I ran out of there, I needed my clothes back, he told me he'd give me my clothes back only if I sent him a picture of me naked, the clothes he had were limited run Unicorn, a full set, a full set went for half a million dollars online at the time because they only made about a hundred sets per age group, auntie Val spent two months pay to get them for me because I love unicorns, I didn't feel like I had a choice, he did give me them back but he then tricked me into sending more, he'd said 'if you don't keep sending me these pictures I'll show your aunt, you'll be expelled but not before I send that first picture to all my friends and they have their way with you, you'll regret ever crossing me', I told him I wouldn't do it, he responded with 'ok then, if you don't comply I'll kidnap you and sell you to the highest bidder as property, you will no longer be a free girl', that's when I caved" says Cat
"does Zoey know that part" asks Beck
"I don't know if she knows the whole story but it will be told at the trial so if she didn't know she will" says Cat
"is there a big deal about trauma secrecy or do you simply not tell Zoey, she seems to care" says Jade
"there's tension between her and I, sexual tension but I draw the line at triad, I do not cross the four person line, Zoey and I cuddle and watch movies but that's as far as that goes" says Cat
"Zoey shows tones of regret when she mentions you, does she have feelings for you and do you have feelings for her" asks Jade
"I did say there was sexual tension didn't I, I knew quite a few girls at PCA that had feelings for Zoë, we were lucky just to know her, Nicole and Dana always won the outing war with her, none of us ever stood a chance to get to eat sushi with Zoë, we always looked from afar, wishing to be a part of the popular group Zoë spent her time around, I had my chance when I almost became a cheerleader, had I not so stupidly choked and forgot my outfit I WOULD have been part of her friend group" says Cat
"but I thought you often talked to Nicole" asks Tori
"about school work, Nicole and I were often paired by the teachers to be project buddies because Nicole often got distracted and I was focus central, we were seven hours into what was supposed to be a two hour project, Nicole came out to me as gay and said that how she felt about Zoë was destroying their friendship, that her parents were making a decision soon to send her to an all girls school, when I asked her what was destroying their friendship Nicole responded 'I keep making decisions and saying things I think Zoey would find cute but all she does is roll her eyes at me', two days later Chase told me Zoey had similar feelings for Nicole, after that I told my Zoey loving friend group that Zoey was officially off limits to us" says Cat
"Cat, in an alternate universe would you have dated Zoey if she'd given you a chance" asks Jade
"oh that's funny, NO, in an alternate universe I'm dead because Nicole and Chase murdered me for trying to date Zoey, Nicole's really happy with Zoey and Quinn, Zoë's floated that hypothetical universe many times recently, Nicole always bursts into tears hearing Zoey suggest that scenario, I was the first person Nicole had ever told about her feelings for Zoë, that's a trust you simply don't break, no matter how much I sometimes wish I was Nicole, you simply won't ever see me putting my feelings ahead of Nicole's, yes I have dreams about being Zoë's wife but I had the same dreams about me and Paige from the start of my relationship with her, last night I told Zoey to her face that Nicole told me about her feelings long before Zoey even seemed to notice, that admitting I would enjoy a solo relationship with her would be betraying that trust in ways I could never live with, that she'd have to live with cuddles during movie night when Andre and Paige spend some alone time together and that all she'll get from me is cuddles but Nicole and Quinn must also cuddle up if they are also watching said movie, did it hurt her feelings, maybe a little but I have rules, Nicole is easily hurt, I refuse to have it look like I'm pulling Zoey away from her or Quinn, given what Quinn can make by accident I never want to know what she can make on purpose, Nicole gets sad, Quinn gets jealous, murder-y jealous, like how you get when someone insults or attempts to get between you and Tori, even if I did want to be with Zoey I'd kill myself before I cross Quinn, I've been where they feel they are, both think that Zoey's getting bored with them and that's why she's repeatedly asking about the alternate universe where her and I would have a chance" says Cat
"Jade, Cat's not crazy, if you love someone enough you let them go, that's what Cat's applying here, she let Rosie go even though she loves her very much, Zoey must learn to do the same" says Tori
"I still don't like the pressure it's putting on them, Cat you'd still let them help with the clothing creation process for the fashion show in Vegas right, also what would the business be called" asks Jade
"the pressure you see isn't because of me, it's because the teachers told them on day one of their time at Hollywood arts that if their grades slipped they'd get a visit from you to encourage them to spend more time doing homework and less time having fun, which is based on the misconception that because they come from PCA that they're snobs, they've spent every waking moment pouring over their notes, the movie night thing is my attempt to let them calm down a little, Lola's trying to impress Tori because they don't get along, the rest are trying to show their teachers that they're anything but snobs, they wake up at six in the morning to go over their notes, have breakfast at seven then get ready for school, the moment they're back from school it's right back to pouring over their notes from the day, they don't stop until supper time, they rest for half an hour after then right back to their notes, they don't stop till bath time, which is half an hour before bed, which for them is ten or eleven at night, after the bath they worry themselves to sleep" asks Cat
"but they're not worried about you" asks David
"not even close Mr. Vega, they're worried they're doing all this studying for nothing and so far they have a reason to be afraid, Nicole's grades are basically F's, she's too worried about people making fun of her to let the information flow in her head, on test days she panics, almost always spelling her name wrong which makes her panic even more meaning she's liable to get maybe five questions right on the tests which average thirty to forty questions, Zoey and Quinn are spending time trying to help Nicole, Dana's considered telling Nicole to cheat, Lola's afraid that if Nicole flunks out that they'll all be expelled based on the idea that they're all snobs from PCA looking to tank the averages of Hollywood arts" says Cat
"isn't Nicole allowed to have accommodations, I'm pretty sure a panic disorder gives her certain rights to accommodations at Hollywood arts" says David
"you would be correct dad, however the teachers won't play ball because they think the other students will see it as favoritism so neither Nicole or Lola get accommodations" says Tori
"what disorder does Lola have, she seems pretty normal to me" asks Rosie
"petrifying anxiety, it wouldn't have shown at PCA because the dynamics of the school allowed her to work through it, Hollywood arts doesn't allow her to take extra time, she usually uses an audio recording device to record the lessons, the teachers at Hollywood arts don't allow that" says Cat
"that's not right, I need to talk to Principal Eichner about this" says David
"dad it's not his decision, it's the super-Intendants decision, Eichner doesn't have the same pull that Rivers does, Rivers threw his weight around last week, he was going to be fired for mishandling the situation, every boy at PCA that had credible claims of extortion or rape held against them by a female student was expelled and the FBI put the information into a file, meaning every boy that got expelled will have the claims of rape and extortion following them for the rest of their lives, Eichner doesn't have that kind of pull" says Jade
"it doesn't matter Jade, they're victims being victimized by teachers based on a stereotype, I won't have it, neither would Andre's dad, mainly because it will impact his trial against Logan, Logans trial outcome will determine how life at boarding schools like PCA will be going forward, it could end PCA as a private school and could come under the direct control of the state meaning the security wouldn't be law enforcement like me but likely state or federal police, the ruling could have an affect on Hollywood arts as well because how restrictions work at Hollywood arts" says David
"what would that mean for us" asks Trina
"if a majority of teachers at Hollywood arts are found to be aggressive towards PCA transferred students Hollywood arts could be shut down, and students moved to other schools, you would be sent to PCA, as of right now there are few boys enrolled at PCA as a result of the purge, for all intents and purposes it is an all girl school with the exception of Chase, Michael and Dustin, and only because Zoey, Lucy and Trisha gave the ok, it will remain an all girl campus for the next few years, any boys that get the ok will only be allowed to attend remotely, it will be a swift transfer if it comes to it" says David
"Cat can Beck drive you back to Andre's or is he picking you up" asks Tori as Kei, Rebecca and Trisha return with four bags each
"he's busy, Beck can take me home if he is ok to" says Cat
