"Thank you, officer. I apologize for the trouble." Hatiro said kindly as he grabbed hold of Trinka and pulled her inside, firm but careful to not hurt his daughter more than she already was.
"It's no problem sir!" The man said while bowing respectfully at him. "I'm just glad nothing else serious happened" He said before stepping down the stairs and looking back one last time and nodded his head leaning towards Trinka.
"You all have a nice night and stay out of trouble, miss." Head hanging low, Trinka stifled a smile in response before slipping behind Hatiro in a desperate attempt to escape from the noises around her which made her head throb worse, only to be met with a firm grip on her forearm from her usually more laid back uncle Hazashi.
She could even tell he was more upset then she saw him. As the door closed Hatiro turned around before walking towards Trinka whose mind was going through a million scenarios that could play out. To her surprise, however, instead of a yelling match (though she never expected her father to do that) he reached over and pulled her into a tight hug. A rather soothing hug. Trinka thought it was to sooth her, but if she was being honest with herself, it was for the both of them.
As Hazashi ran in with their first aid kit and ice pack, Hatio let her go gently and led her to the kitchen table and sat her down. The questions started as Hazashi and Shouta started sorting through the kit. "Are you ok? Where does it hurt most?" Trinka pointed to her head, it was no doubt she had a concussion seeing how the lights made the excruciating pain in her head start to pound like a jackhammer and having to stand up while the officer explained everything didn't help.
"God, I'm so glad it was just a fall and not a villain attack, Trin! Please, never stay out that late again. You made us all worry!" He held her hand which she squeezed over and over when the throbbing continued to get worse as Shouta used a napkin to get the dirt and grime from the sidewalk out of the wound.
"I told you crime has been growing rapidly. You were lucky it was just you and that Bakugo kid continuing this childish rivalry." She nodded and leaned on her arm that was propping her up for her uncles/dads to start patching her head up.
She knew he would bring up the rivalry her and Bakugo had, especially since the police did say this whole thing was caused by them not getting along. "It was not my fault, dad," she defended herself,"I may have contributed to it, but I swear he ran after me!" Her voice raised as the hydrogen peroxide touched the flesh wound which made Hazashi take it off immediately. She always called him an empath because he was just a wimp when it came to pain; it didn't matter if it was his own or someone else's.
"Why don't you calm down and tell us everything that happened, eh?" Shouta said as he sat in the chair next to hers before handing a bottle of Ibuprofen to soothe the pain so she would be able to sleep once she was in the clear.
As she took two pills, she continued to explain everything as Hazashi patched up the wound before joining his friends sitting around the teen.
"Well, I would say running past him probably was not the best idea. He probably thought you challenged him since he seems like a kid to do that." Hazashi explained. Trinka groaned and looked away before he could finish his monologue, not liking where this was going. "But!" He continued, holding up a hand, "He was in the wrong for thinking that and chasing you. Honestly, you both were in the wrong." He finished.
She nodded while scratching at the bandage. She never liked admitting to being wrong if she felt like she didn't do anything wrong. Which, she felt in this case, she didn't. "For now, I want you to recover from a possible concussion. One of us will watch you for the next four hours while you try to get some sleep." Hatiro looked at his friends to see who would volunteer to stay with her for the night. Before they could even raise their hand, Kai stood up supporting his youngest cousin who was wrapped around him like a baby koala sound asleep. "I'll stay with her! I overheard you guys saying you had busy days tomorrow so you guys get sleep and I'll stay up." Hatiro looked at his nephew with a small sliver of hesitation before nodding remembering how good he had been the past day with Akihiko. "Alright that will do, thank you Kai you are a lifesaver." He said as he cleaned up the rest of the kit before giving his daughter a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder as she was starting to drift off into a fitful sleep desperate to try to keep her eyes open but to no surprise a concussion makes anyone tired. "Oh, no, you have to stay awake for a few more hours, Trinka. Watch a movie with Kai before bed. How about that?" Trinka groogly looked up at her father, pouting softly. All she wanted to do from a long hour or two of running is to just drift off to sleep on her soft mattress. "I think she will be okay, Uncle. I'll be watching her and waking her up every couple of hours." Kai said. He adjusted Akihiko to be on his hip while wiping drool off of his shirt before walking more towards his groggy cousin, who nodded agreeably.
Hatiro sighed, "Alright. Just at least let me come in every once in a while to check on both of you, yeah?"
Kai chuckled before nodding. "Yeah yeah that's fair! Just don't be too loud."
Hatiro nodded as Shouta walked back into the room, turning off his phone. "I got Trinka a day off of school. They all agreed it wouldn't be safe for her to do any training with a concussion." Trinka softly smiled, hearing this, putting an arm up and signaling she was perfectly alright staying at home for a day. To be honest, she was already tired of school. Hazashi sighed rubbing Trinka's back before standing up. "Let's get you to bed before we leave. How's that?"
Hatiro smiled, grateful for his friends, wondering what he did to deserve them being with him for the 17 crazy years of their lives. Hazashi gently grabbed Trinka's arm as she pushed herself up before fully leaning onto him as the room started to spin. Lights were going in and out of her vision, making her stop completely in her tracks.
Hazashi turned to face her before picking her up uncomfortably since she didn't make any effort to move herself to make it easier for them both. Once they were finally adjusted and he was carrying her bridal style, they were sent on their way to her room.
"Alright, is that comfortable for you?" Hazashi said as he tucked his "niece" into bed that was overrun with pillows and two blankets. She giggled tiredly as she stretched, causing the dizziness to worsen and making her groan in annoyance. "Yeah, it's just fine. Thank you, Hazashi." He smiled before giving her a contented bow. As Hazashi walked to her door she spoke softly.
"Hazashi, can I talk to you?"
As he turned to face her, he could see the tired, puzzled look on her face. She was deep in thought and it concerned Hazashi as he walked closer and knelt beside her bed before putting his hand on her forehead. "Yeah, of course, Trin! You never have to ask. I'm always here to listen." Trinka nodded while turning on her side. The lump of annoyance and anger had not left her throat since she got back home. In all honesty, she didn't know how she was feeling nor did she know how to say it into words. Tears stung the back of her eyes as she desperately wiped her face, overcome with emotions she couldn't understand. Hazashi's face dropped. He hated the thought of his family being hurt in any way - physically, mentally, emotionally. "Hey, hey. It's okay, there's no need to cry. What's wrong? Did something else happen today? You can tell me anything, kid." Trinka nodded as she sat up with Hizashi's help before her mouth opened with everything she thought she didn't know how to explain.
"It's only been three days and I'm tired of this!" she exclaimed. Her uncle sat up and shifted his way onto her bed before facing her. Wiping the escaping tears cascading down her cheeks, he asked, "Tired of what? School? Because you are not obligated to go if you can't handle or do the work. We wouldn't be disappointed or upset with you." He soothed. She shook her head while moving his hands from her face before scratching at her bandage once more.
"I'm tired of him!" She exclaimed suddenly, her arms coming in contact with her bed as she flailed them in exasperation,"I am tired of Bakugo! I can't handle him! I don't want to go to school and possibly have to work together if he isn't going to change! I can't handle people who hate me!" she continued, growing more upset as she released the rant she didn't know she had been holding back.
"I know that seems stupid, or is stupid and I might be letting him get to me, but I can't do this, Hazashi. I can't!" As the tears fell, Hazsashi pulled her into a hug, whispering words of comfort as an attempt to calm the upset teen as she leaned on him, staining his shirt with her tears.
He could honestly relate and understand how Trinka felt since he dealt with people like this in high school, but never this bad. To chase and scare the living shit out of someone was a whole other level in his book. They sat there, Trinka whispering her feelings into the air between them, and her Uncle holding her, gently rocking as he did so. He let her talk for as long as she needed and only chimed in when prompted. After a while of calming down and the continued back and forth talk between the two, Trinka finally felt level minded enough to get some sleep to recover from her very eventful day.
Hazashi couldn't finish his speech of encouragement, to tell her everything between her and Bakugou would be alright, as small breaths and snores from the person leaning up against him filled his ears. He chuckled softly before sliding his way back off the bed without stirring her awake; knowing it would take her forever to just fall back asleep again.
Tucking her in, Hizashi kissed her head before standing. He inched around the room to her door, turning the light off and walking out. As he closed the door, he came face to face with Kai, who was carrying a semi awake seven-year-old over his shoulder. The two had never really talked, but they had a mutual respect for each other; Kai looked up to Hizashi, and the latter knew Kai was a good kid.
"Thank you for bringing her up." Kai said, before asking, "Is she feeling okay?"
Hizashi nodded while putting a hand on his other shoulder. "Just had a rough night." he explained."I am sure she will wake up feeling better. And thank you for being with her Kai. It means alot to Hatiro."
Kai bowed his head softly, trying his hardest not to stir Akihiko awake before making his way to Trinka's room. "Good night, ." was what he said before shutting the door and walking over to a bean bag chair that was planted in the corner in the teens room.
As much as he loved having his younger cousin on his shoulder, he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep with a kid on top of him as he was known to be a crazy sleeper. He gently set him at the end of Trinka's bed and covered him with a blanket before making his way to the bean bag. With an exaggerated groan he plopped onto his makeshift bed then set alarms to go off every two hours. He turned off her side table lamp and gently let himself sink into the chair as the darkness succumbed him into a restful sleep. The snores from both kids became more prominent as they all fell victim to the sandman.
The sound of Trinka and her brother's favorite anime played in the background as Hatiro cleaned up the house the next day. The only thing to distract him was the sound of their new doorbell ringing throughout the house, making Trinka's ears ring in the process, but not as much as before.
Hatiro walked to the living room looking expectedly at Trinka who sadly but purposely didn't get the hint. "Trinka, it's for you!" She sat up curious before standing up and unsteadily walking to the front door. As it opened the only thing to be seen was the more confusing sight of Bakugo and another person, who she presumed to be his mother, standing on their doorstep. One hand was on her hip while the other was holding onto the young boy's ear rather tightly. Trinka was about to shut the door, not caring how rude the action would seem, but her father knew her all too well and stepped in at the last second to keep the door open.
"You must be Mrs. Bakugo and Young Bakugo! I'm Hatiro, Trinka's father!" The woman bowed her head softly while forcefully bowing Bakugo's as well. "It's lovely to meet you both!" she said before standing straight again, "I just wish it was under better circumstances. Thank you for calling me Mr. Sommoya. I hope we can move past this." She wasn't even finished speaking before Bakugo rolled his eyes and tried to wiggle free; He was met with a strong and hard squeeze of his ear causing him to groan in pain. This received a giggle from Trinka.
"He usually is more well behaved in public." Bakugo growled at his mother's remark, finally wiggling free and rubbing his, now sore, sensitive ear. Hatiro looked to Tinka, knowing a smart remark would come out of her mouth, but questioned as to when. He watched her carefully, waiting.
His answer came faster than a bullet train as her mouth opened and she effortlessly began to speak. "With all due respect, control your dog!" Bakugo's mouth gaped open as hers was pushed shut by her father's swift move of hand, clamping it across her mouth like caution tape on a crime scene. If Mrs. Bakugo seemed took any offense to Trinka's comment, she didn't let it show.
The brunette looked at her father as he bowed in apology. "Trinka is too, usually. I'm sorry for her smart mouth. "
Mrs. Bakugo nodded before letting out a sigh and chuckled nervously. "I really hope this doesn't cause any more problems with our families. It would really be a shame since Katsuki really doesn't have any friends." At that remark,Bakugo glared at his mother with distaste and embarrassment instead of the usual death glare.
"It's not MY fault she causes all the problems!" He objected. looked back at her son before grabbing his ear and murmuring. "Sit. Down. Now." Unwillingly, the teen boy complied with his mothers request and sat on the sidewalk in front of the door, adjusting the tape on his nose from the night before. Hatiro ushered Trinka to do the same. She followed her fathers request and gave her and her "Rival" breathing distance.
As the parents talked, glances and scoffs were shared in between the two teens. Subtle hand gestures only Americans used willingly were thrown the girl's way, and it was pretty shocking to see the blonde use them just as casually. Trinka turned away from the vile behavior.
Listening more closely to what the parents had to say as silence settled between them, the blood in their bodies ran cold at what they could overhear.
"Y'know what, why don't you and your family come over for dinner next weekend! Give the kids time to think of heartfelt apologies for each other."
They both shot up at the suggestion, which caused them both pain from the concussions and other injuries from that night. As they leaned on each other groaning in pain desperate to keep themselves up, Mrs. Bakugo nodded at Hatiro's request. "I think that will be an amazing idea! I will tell his father about this. He will be very pleased to meet his son's friend!"
Trinka and Bakugo looked at each other before scooting away instantly at the word Friend. Trinka rushed inside while Bakugo walked down the stairs to the sidewalk near the road. The parents exchanged numbers before Ms. Bakugo walked to meet with her son and waved goodbye to the pair, starting their short walk back down to their house. "Are you insane?! Inviting them into this house? Trinka frantically asked her dad as he walked in the door, clearly upset with him for what he'd just done."I'd rather be able to wake up in the morning!" She huffed. Hatiro put an arm around his daughter before hugging her tightly.
"Better start working on that apology, then. Next weekend will come a lot faster than it seems!" Trinka groaned before stomping her way up the stairs and looking out her, rather dusty, window only to see both Bakugo's bickerings on their way back. The blonde must have felt that he was being stared at because once he turned his head, he could see the green eyes looking at him contently.
They exchanged looks before giving the usual flip of the finger before he walked inside slamming the door shut. To be honest, she didn't think she and Bakugo would patch things up.
Oh how wrong she was…
WOAHHHH OK SO A ALOT HAPPENED, DINNER?! WITH THE BAKUGO FAMILY? Seems impossible right? Only one can hope Trinka and Bakugo patch things up and become friends since Katsuki has almost no friends
