Chapter 43: Confession
Third Person POV:
Anthony was walking around the mall until he was stopped by a Cobra Kai student.
"Grand opening of our new location. You should come check it out." The student says before handing Anthony a Cobra Kai shirt. As soon as the student has his back turned, Anthony throws the shirt on the ground. When Anthony turns around, he is face to face with Kenny.
"Dropped something." Kenny says while shoving the shirt back in Anthony's chest. With Kenny were Kyler, Aaron, Brian, and a few more Cobras.
Later…
Brian watches in horror as the Cobras give Anthony a shit swirly. They had dragged Anthony all the way to the bathroom. Brian thought that Miyagi-Fang were supposed to be the bullies. After the Cobras are finished, Chase enters the bathrooms and is horrified by what he sees.
"What the hell did you guys do?" Chase asks. Aaron walks up to him and kicks him to the ground. The Cobras, except Brian, assault Chase for a bit until deciding to leave.
Later…
Detective Alfonso was going through the mall CCTV footage. He saw a Cobra dragging James into the storage room and saw James being thrown out, nude. However, there were no cameras in the storage room, meaning the actual stripping was off camera. Detective Alfonso already knew that some asshole lawyer would use that against James and argue that since the actual stripping was off camera, there was no way to prove that Cobra Kai actually stripped James. Detective Alfonso slams his fists down in anger. How was he gonna nail Steve this time? Detective Alfonso continues to go though the footage and sees the Cobras leaving the storage room while laughing. That's when he sees him. His own son, Brian, with the Cobras.
Later…
"I can't do this anymore." Emma says.
"Do what?" Chase asks.
"Be in Cobra Kai." Emma says. She had told Chase that she wanted to talk to him about something.
"Well, you could always just leave." Chase says.
"Then the whole point of joining Cobra Kai would be for nothing. I was thinking that I could try and find evidence on what the Cobras did to James." Emma reveals.
"What? How?" Chase asks.
"Maybe I can record someone confessing to the whole thing or something. I just don't want to quit Cobra Kai without gaining something from it." Emma says.
"You've gotten better at fighting though, haven't you?" Chase asks. Emma smiles before standing up. She shows Chase her front, side, roundhouse, and spinning back kicks.
"Wow. That's impressive." Chase says.
"I don't think I can take on Steve anytime soon." Emma says.
"Keep practicing, you may be able to take out one or two Cobras in a fight." Chase says.
Later…
Detective Alfonso returns home and immediately goes upstairs to Brian's room. He opens the door, surprising his son.
"Dad? What are you-" Brain begins to say. Detective Alfonso goes to his son's dresser and opens a drawer. Inside, was Cobra Kai merch.
"You joined Cobra Kai? Why didn't you tell me?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"Well…I was embarrassed about joining a karate dojo. I also didn't want you to stop me." Brian says.
"Brian, do you realize how dangerous Cobra Kai is?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"I…I…" Brian stutters.
"I saw the security footage at the mall. I know you're hanging out with Steve. Did you know that Steve bullied that kid James relentlessly for months?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"Really?" Brian asks.
"Yeah! And now you're hanging out with Steve and picking on James together!" Detective Alfonso exclaims.
"I…I was told that Steve was bullied by James." Brian says.
"That's a lie. James was the target of Steve's aggression. Steve assaulted James, stole his stuff, ruined his reputation, and broke his arm." Detective Alfonso says. Hearing this made Brian feel sick. He couldn't hide what he did at the mall anymore.
"I…I have a confession to make. I…I was the one who actually stripped James at the mall." Brain says.
"What? Why would you do such a thing?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"I was pressured by Steve. After James bullied me, I wanted revenge. I…I soon realized how far Cobra Kai was going." Brian says.
"Hold on, James bullied you?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"Yeah." Brian says.
"Tell me everything." Detective Alfonso says.
James's POV:
I was walking down the street when I bumped into Brian.
"Brian! I've been meaning to talk to you." I say.
"What do you want?" Brian asks.
"Look, I'm really sorry for everything I did. I'm not mad at you for stripping me, I deserved it. Is there anything else I can do to make it up to you?" I ask. Brian pauses before speaking.
"There are two things you can do. The first thing is apologize to the other Cobras you hurt." Brian says.
"Okay, I can do that." I say.
"The second is to confess what you did to my dad." Brian says.
"What? Why?" I ask.
"He's a police detective. You'd basically be turning yourself in." Brian says.
"I…I'll do it." I say. Brian nods before walking away.
Later…
I entered the Cobra Kai dojo. I made sure to do it towards the beginning of class. I look around and don't see Terry Silver anywhere. I approach the Cobras.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Kenny shouts before approaching me.
"I'm not here to fight. I came here to talk." I say.
"What is there to talk about?" Kenny asks.
"I came here to say sorry. I'm sorry for everything I did to you guys. I'm sorry for taking things too far during fights. Nothing I do can make up for the pain you guys went through. I deserved to get beat up and stripped naked for what I did." I say. That's when a Cobra approaches me. He has a cast on his hand. He was the Cobra I attacked on the street and who's hand I broke.
"You see this? This is what you did to me!" The Cobra says while holding up his hand.
"I know, and I'm sorry." I say.
"Sorry doesn't make up for what you did!" The Cobra shouts.
"I know. That's why I'm gonna turn myself in." I say.
"You think that's gonna save you? No, you deserve much worse." The Cobra says.
"Listen-" I begin to say.
"No, you listen! Get out of here before we kick your ass, nudist!" The Cobra shouts.
"I'm sorry." I say before walking out of the dojo.
Third Person POV:
Steve was sitting inside his house. It was boring now that Matthew was gone. Where could his brother have run off to? That's when the doorbell rings. Steve answers it and is surprised to see a group of Cobras outside.
"Can I help you?" Steve asks.
"We want your help getting revenge on James." The Cobra with the broken hand says.
"Do the others know about this?" Steve asks.
"No. We don't care if you're not in Cobra Kai, we need your help. We are all the people who got beat up by James." The Cobra with the cast says. The group consisted of him, the other street Cobra, the arcade Cobras, and the basketball teammates.
"Why do you want my help?" Steve asks.
"You're the only one who knows how to truly break James. Come on man." The Cobra with the cast begs.
"Fine. I've been meaning to check in on that nudist anyway." Steve says with a smirk.
"So, what's the plan?" The Cobra asks.
"I have one idea. However, I don't know if you guys have the stomach for it." Steve says.
"Trust me, we do." The Cobra says. Steve smiles.
"Do any of you have a dog?" Steve asks.
James's POV:
I arrive at Violet and Brian's house, ready to turn myself in. I knock on the door and Brian's dad answers. I'm shocked by who I see.
"Detective Alfonso?! You're Brian's dad?!" I ask in shock.
"Yes, I am. Come in." Detective Alfonso says before letting me into the house. I enter and sit on the couch.
"Detective, I'm here to turn myself in." I say.
"For what?" Detective Alfonso asks.
"I…I've been bullying your son. I assaulted him, tried to break his arm, and locked him in a dumpster for two hours." I say.
"James, why would you do those things?" Detective Alfonso asks in a calm voice.
"You're not mad?" I ask.
"Oh, I'm pissed, but I already know everything you did." Detective Alfonso reveals.
"You knew?" I ask.
"Yes, Brian told me everything. We were waiting to see if you would actually turn yourself in or not." Detective Alfonso reveals.
"So, am I getting arrested?" James asks.
"No. Brian asked me not to do anything to you. You were already beat up and stripped naked by him, so he said you guys were even." Detective Alfonso says.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't even realize what I was doing half the time." I confess.
"Just promise me one thing." Detective Alfonso says.
"What?" I ask.
"Get Brian out of Cobra Kai." Detective Alfonso says.
"What?" I ask.
"If you get my son out of that hell, then I'll forgive you." Detective Alfonso says.
Third Person POV:
Brian got a text from the Cobras to meet a few houses from James's place. Brian feared the worst. Brain sees the Cobras, including Steve, and approaches them.
"What do you guys need?" Brian asks.
"We're gonna ambush James when he comes home." Steve says. Steve is wearing a backpack.
"Why? We already got revenge twice!" Brian points out.
"Because he deserves it!" Steve says.
"Why are you always hesitant to do anything?" The Cobra with the cast asks.
"Because this is stupid and immoral!" Brian shouts.
"Are you defying us?" Steve asks.
"You know what? Yes, I am! I'm so sick of your guy's bullshit! I'm quitting Cobra Kai!" Brian shouts. Brain begins to walk away but is pulled back by Steve.
"Where do you think you're going?" Steve says before punching Brain in the face. Steve then sweeps his legs.
"Stop!" Brian shouts.
"You know what happens to people who betray Cobra Kai?" Steve asks.
James's POV:
I'm walking back home and I see Steve beating up Brian. I immediately panic. Seeing Brian like that makes me think of myself. I'm not gonna let Brian get hurt anymore. I breathe and run up to Steve. I push him to the ground.
"Go! Get out of here!" I shout. Brian nods and runs away. Steve kicks me in the chest and punches me in the face. Two cobras run up to me and throw me to the ground. They restrain my arms while two more cobras restrain my legs. I'm stuck to the ground. Steve removes the backpack from his shoulders.
"What are you gonna do?" I ask in fear. Steve opens the backpack and takes out a jar. One of the cobras begins recording me. Inside this jar was dog shit.
"When you got me locked in juvie, you made me feel like shit. You made the cobras feel like shit when you beat them up. Now, you're gonna see how it feels." Steve says. Steve removes the lid from the jar. The next words he says makes me terrified.
"Open his mouth." Steve says with a smirk. One of the basketball teammates gets on his knees and forces my mouth open. At this point, I'm screaming. I'm screaming as loud as I can. However, nobody else hears me. Steve dumps the dog shit straight into my mouth. That's when the Cobras let me go. I immediately vomit everywhere.
"Oh my god, look at this pussy!" The Cobra filming me says. After I vomit some more, I begin crying.
"Are you seriously crying, pussy?" Steve asks. The Cobras all begin laughing at me.
"See you around, shit eater!" The Cobra with the cast shouts.
"What a pussy!" A basketball teammate says.
"That nudist got what he deserved." An arcade Cobra says.
"After all these months, you're still a pussy." Steve says before grabbing me by the neck. "If you tell anyone about this, we'll post that video all over YouTube." Steve says before throwing me on the ground. I'm left on the ground crying. I wanted to die. At this moment, I wanted to drop dead.
Author's Note: James needs to do something if he wants to escape Steve's wrath. What will he do? Brian has finally left Cobra Kai! What will he do now that he is free? Will Emma be able to collect evidence without being caught?
