Kim was awoken by Erin and Nadia. "Come on bride to be! Time to whisk you away!" They yelled as they woke her up. "Is it that time already? Okay let me get up." Kim complained as she started to sit up. "We have all your things set up at the house next door. We have a massage planned for you, then lunch, hair and make up before you get married!" Erin was so excited she couldn't contain herself. "And we will get the girls closer to the wedding so they can dress with you." Nadia explained as they got her out of bed. "Alright I'm up. Where's Adam?" Kim questioned. "We pushed him out if here before we woke you. We couldn't separate you two last night but we can now. So let's get a move on, we have an appointment." The girls laughed as Kim tried to get moving though half asleep still.
They got a little breakfast before taking a quick shower. Kim dressed quickly and they headed to their massage appointments. All the ladies were going including Adams sister Kate. They got to the spa with minutes to spare. They changed into the robes offered and relaxed till they were taken back for their massage. It was exactly what Kim needed to relax before the wedding. The nerves were getting the best of her and she really needed the knots worked out. Over the next hour Kim relaxed and felt all the tension melt from her body. When finished she headed into the sauna for a bit before the manicure and pedicure appointments.
"Ladies! This is amazing! Just what I needed. Thank you for this!" Kim stated as she watched her feet being worked on. "Well you deserve this. And every bride should be pampered properly before walking down the aisle." Nadia was gushing as she spoke. She was beyond excited for today. "Well this is only happening twice technically so I guess it's appropriate to be pampered today!" Kim laughed knowing this would happen again in a week. "So how is that working exactly? Are you doing the wedding again or is a just a reception?" Kate asked. Adam didn't keep her in the loop.
"Well it's just a reception. But the wedding video will be played and when the minister announces us as man and wife we will walk into the reception. Adams teammates will be standing there with their bats arched over our heads and then the bats will cross behind us when we pass them. This way his team is involved and those not here today can see the wedding. We also have a few special moments planned for during the reception." Kim answered Kate as she felt her feet getting massaged again. "That sounds lovely. I'm sure Adam was thrilled to have his team involved." Kate commented. "Yeah he was thrilled I wanted to include them. We didn't invite them here because he doesn't have the same relationship with all of them like I do with my team. And we didn't want to hurt feelings. I'm just excited to finally have it all come together. It's been a long time in the making." Kim explained to the group.
"Sounds like a lot of thought went into all of this to make it personal and intimate." Kate wasn't completely surprised by this. She had gotten to know Kim well enough to know she would do anything to make Adam happy. "I know weddings are normally all about the bride but I wanted him involved and happy with all the decisions. I want him happy with today too. Because after today we can officially start to adopt Emma and Adam can start the adoption process on Jackson. Our family will finally be whole and official. I can't wait." Kim beamed thinking about what was ahead today.
"That's amazing Kim! We are so proud of you both! You both deserve this." Erin squeezed Kim's hand before allowing her nails to be worked on. Almost 4 hours after they arrived at the spa they headed back to the house for lunch and to start getting ready. "We will go get the girls now. I'm sure Lily needs to be fed and we want to paint the girls nails to match ours." Nadia and Erin headed next door to get the three girls. They saw Adam as they walked in. "How's it going Adam?" Erin asked. "Good. We went golfing and now it's time to relax and get ready. How's my bride?" Adam asked loving how it sounded. "She's good. She's relaxed and ready to start getting her hair done. She's determined to look perfect." Nadia joked. "She already does and I haven't seen her yet." The ladies swooned at Adams comment.
"Well we will let you boys do your thing. We just came to take the girls to get ready with Kim next door. See you soon!" Erin took Lily and led Emma and Grace our the door with Nadia behind them. They made it back to Kim quick. Kim was watching the water like she seemed to do anytime she had a free moment. The glow was back on her face. She literally needed no make up with how radiant she looked watching the water. "We are back." Nadia says as the girls run over to see Kim. "Hey girly girls! Are you excited to dress up today?" Kim asked as both girls nodded. "Well I think you need to get your nails done first so let's get that started." Kim started to head inside with the girls but was stopped by Kate. "We got this. Enjoy this moment. Cause your glowing right now. Take it all in." Kate patted her shoulder as she left. Kim relaxed back into the chair. The sound of the ocean the only sound she heard.
When they came to get Kim to start her hair and get her dressed she was still in the same spot. "Kim. It's time to get you ready. We have to get moving." Erin says as she comes up behind Kim. "I know. I'm just enjoying this view. Let's go before I can't leave the view." Kim smiled as she sat up to leave the deck. "Okay so I will do Graces hair, Nadia will do yours, Kate is going to do Emma's hair. Then time to get dressed." Erin says as they led Kim to the bedroom that was set up for them. Kim sat very still as her hair was done. She went with a half up half down since it's fall and a slight chill in the air. They did a slight amount of makeup just to make her shine even more.
The girls were getting dressed while Kim's make up was being done. The little ones looked absolutely adorable. Erin helped Kim get dressed before putting her own dress on. Kim needed help getting the corset secure in the back. The dress itself was easy enough to get zipped so she finished dressing along so Erin could get her dress done. Her shoes and jewelry were the finial component to the look. As Kim buckled her shoes she heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" Kim called out. "Hey Kim. I knew you needed sometime borrowed so I brought you a jewelry set that has been passed down in my family." Trudy handed Kim the set before helping her with the necklace. "Thank you Trudy! So what do you think?" Kim asked as she twirled around. "You look absolutely stunning! By the way. The getaway house is all set up, the reception is set up and the wedding location is all set. The photographer is here to take some photos of you girls before you walk out." Trudy had been super helpful with every thing. "Thank you for everything! I know you probably don't want to hear this but you have been like a mom to me. I appreciate everything you have done for us. I can never repay you for it all." Kim hugged Trudy while she tried not to cry. "You are right I don't but I couldn't be more honored to be your mother figure. Let's stop all this before you ruin your make up!" Trudy was not an emotional person at all. This was out of her comfort zone. Kim nodded before allowing the photographer and the girls in.
"Omg Kim! You look stunning! My brother is going to faint when he sees you!" Kate squealed when she entered the room. "Thank you! How is he by the way?" Kim asked realizing she had no idea what he was up to. "They are watching sports. He's fine! Not nervous at all. He's ready to get started. I actually think he's driving the rest crazy because he wants to start already." Kate laughed knowing his child like energy was exploding out of him. "Great well let's get the photos going so we can do this! I'm ready!" Kim cheered as the girls started to pose.
As the girls finished posing the boys started to head to the wedding site. Nadia, Kate and Trudy headed over as well. The wedding party was small and that was on purpose. "Let's start walking. The boys are there and ready." Erin whispered. Kim nodded with a huge smile. Kim looked out the window to see Adam with Kevin and Jackson. She could see Adam fidgeting. Adam was rocking on his heels, his palms were sweating. Now he was nervous. "Dude you got to calm down. She's on her way. It's going to be great." Kevin tried to calm him down but knew it wouldn't work. "I'm trying man but I'm now nervous. But more excited then anything." Adam wiped his palms on his legs trying to get calm his nerves.
The music started, which caused Adam to look up. His breath hitched as he realized it was starting. He was beaming when he saw Grace walking down the aisle dropping flowers along the way. She went over to Jay afterwards to snuggle in his arms. Emma was next and Adam could help but smile as she walked down with flowers in her hand. As soon as she saw him she ran the rest of the way into the waiting arms of Adam. He hugged tight and kissed her cheek before setting her down and letting her go to the other side. Erin was next holding Lily as she walked. His daughter looked adorable in her tiny blue dress. He loved seeing his daughters so happy and adorable. Jackson was rocking his suit and definitely showed some confidence and sass with the photo shoot earlier.
The music changed. It was really starting. He saw Kim walk towards him. His eyes filled with tears as he watched her walk towards him. Her smile matching his, wide and shinning! As she got closer Adam noticed the tears in Kim's eyes. When she reached him she reached up to wipe the tears off his cheek. "You look stunning darling!" Adam gushed as he stared into her eyes. "Well thank you and you look pretty handsome as well. So do you little man!" Kim leaned down to hug her son before standing to proceed with the wedding. The pastor spoke but neither Kim nor Adam truly heard him. They were lost in each other eyes.
When it came time for the vows Kevin had to nudge Adam to speak. The crowd laughed as did Adam and Kim. "Sorry I'm lost in how stunning Kim looks." Adam laughed before starting his vows. "Kim from the moment I met you in that cafe in Philly I knew you were special. There was something about you that I was drawn to. The more I got to know about you the more I was attracted to you. Your heart and soul and just as beautiful as your face. You believed in me in ways no one ever has. You helped me achieve my dreams and help my strive for more. You have made me a better version of myself. All you do for me and continue to do for me is something I never expected to find in anyone. You are beyond my wildest dreams and I definitely can't wait for the rest of lives. It's been a wild adventure and it can only get better. Thank you for everything and for our children, the greatest gift ever. You made my life whole. I love you more than life itself!" Adam wipes his tears as he continued to stare into Kim's eyes. The smiles never leaving their faces.
"Oh Adam. That day you spoke to me in that cafe I thought oh lord what does this guy want! I was shocked by how handsome you were. I knew I had to play it cool and not let on that I was interested. I truly was afraid to open up to you because I had a ton of baggage but you saw past it all. You supported me in ways I didn't know I needed. You allow me to be a better version of myself. You accepted my son, our son, no questions asked. You stood up to be the father Jackson never had, that you never had. I'm so proud to be in this journey called life with you. And I can't wait to see where we go from here. It's been a wild ride, I agree, but there is no one else I want to be on this adventure with but you. You are the love of my life." Kim cried as she finished her speech.
Adam wiped her tears as she wiped his tears. They were a mess! The rest of the ceremony went by fast. It was a blur but they smiled the whole time. When they were announced as husband and wife Adam couldn't wait any longer to kiss his wife. "Finally!" Adam exclaimed as he kissed his wife for the very first time. It was not short and sweet but they didn't care. Every emotion was poured into the kiss as the crowd clapped and hooted. They broke apart laughing. They walked up the aisle smiling wide, so happy to be here in this moment. The guest filed out and headed to a bus to take them to the reception. Kim and Adam stayed behind to have photos done with the kids. "We should post a selfie of just us." Adam suggested. "Let's do it!" Kim cheered. They took a cute photo of the two beaming before posting "Mr and Mrs Ruzek".
They stayed in the sand posing for pictures as a couple and as a family. Some serious poses were taken but they also allowed their playful sides to show. Adam carried Kim in some photos and some of Adam giving Kim a piggy back ride. They also posed for picture with the kids. Holding them and chasing them. Their smiles were blinding and infectious. The laughter was also infectious as they played with the kids on the beach. The candid photos were definitely their favorites. They couldn't wait to get the family portrait framed for on the wall in the living room.
When they joined the reception an hour later the group was cheering as they walked in. They took lots of pictures with group. Tons of photos with Kim's team and the team with the kids. Adam did photos with his sister and her son before added Kim and the kids for a family portrait. Adam also made sure Kevin wasn't left out. They had lots of fun photos together. Kim watching and laughing as they acted like kids. When dinner was served Kim was thrilled. She was starving and who could turn down fresh seafood. No speeches were given as they agreed to wait till the larger reception. They danced for hours before serving the cake. Adam and Kim feeding bites of cake to each other. All of it caught on camera. They couldn't wait to see those photos.
They danced long into the night before Adam decided to make a small speech catching Kim off guard. "Hey guys! Just a small speech, nothing too major. Can't prevent the wife from dancing! I like that by the way!" He laughed before he continued. "Okay so first I want to thank you all for coming down here with us. We appreciate it more than we can say. Now the real reason I paused this music. Kim, love if my life, I had no idea what to get you for a wedding present and the other day I figured it out. Everyone here, including us are going to the World Series to see your favorite team the Philadelphia Phillies play! I rented out a suite, all food included, private restroom, so it allows you to enjoy the game but also have the privacy we want with the kids!" Adam watched Kim as she lost it crying and running towards Adam for a kiss. "OMG Baby! Thank you so much! I can't wait to get there. You are amazing!" Kim couldn't stop jumping up and down cheering.
The group of friends and family was in shock. They had no idea this was coming and knew it wasn't cheap for the whole group to go but they were thankful. Each coming up to thank Adam for this amazing gift. Most having never been to a World Series game before. It's also surprising since Adam played for the Cubs so to go to see another team play was strange but he would support her passion for her team. She never held her love for another team to get in the way of their relationship so he could go to a game for her. Especially a World Series game, that's a huge thing for people. The energy is always insane and he knew Philly was insanity on a whole new level. He was actually excited to experience it with his wife and kids.
The kids were headed back to the house after that. They were falling asleep sitting at the tables. Voight, Platt and Mouch headed back to the house with the kids so they could sleep and the rest could continue to party. The group lasted till midnight before calling it a night. The bus took them back to the houses but Kim pulled Adam into a car as the group entered the homes. "Where are we going?" Adam asked confused as hell. "A little getaway for two nights. Just the two of us. And yes everyone is well aware including the kids." Kim winked as they drove away from the house.
They pulled up to a small house, Kim was nervous. She had a rather large surprise for Adam waiting in the house. "We are here. Come on!" Kim pulled him in to the house. Adam could tell she was nervous and he didn't know why. Kim opened the front door and Adam scooped her up to carry her inside the home. "You are nuts but I love you!" Kim giggled as he carried her over the threshold. "I love you too darling!" Adam kissed her and placed her down. "Okay so there is food and drinks in the kitchen and a surprise for you." Kim walked him towards the kitchen. There was a small bakery box with the words open me written on top. Adam looked at Kim confused as hell. "Okay so I need to open the box Okay. I'm so confused Kim." Adam slowly opened it and was even more confused.
"Welcome home? I don't get it." Adam just stared at her before she handed the keys. "We are home. This is our home away from home. Our home to make more vacation memories as a family together. Does that make sense now?" Kim asked as she walked closer and put her arms around his neck. "You bought us a vacation home? You are crazy but I love it! And I love you!" Adam kisses her hard. "Bedroom now, cake later!" Kim whispered. "Hell ya! Let's go!" Adam picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. Kim laughed the whole way there. He found the bedroom easily since it was lite up. Trudy had turned on a light and set up the room with alcohol free champagne, strawberries and rose petals on the bed.
"This is perfect for our family Kim. I love this." Adam placed her down holding her waist so she was steady. "I'm glad you like it. But you still have one present to unwrap." Kim winked as she started to remove Adams jacket. "Well I love unwrapping presents. But have at it." Adam allowed Kim to undress him slowly. After Adam was down to just boxers he took over unwrapping his gift. He started by taking off her jewelry that he knew was borrowed from Trudy. He wanted to make sure it wasn't damaged. After the jewelry was gently placed on the dresser he knelt down to take her shoes off. He loved those shoes since they had his name on the bottom. The shoes were placed to the side gently knowing they were expensive and would be worn again next weekend.
He returned to face her before turning her to unzip the dress. She heard his breath hitch when the zipper was fully open. Knowing he saw the back of the corset. "Damn darling! I haven't even seen the full show and I'm already completely turned on!" He dropped the dress and helped her step out of it. Taking in the full view of the outfit that was hidden under the dress. He hung up the dress before coming back to twirl her around. "I love this! It's so hot! You and Erin did an amazing job on this one." Adam kissed her hard. "There's more? Well damn!" Adam wanted to rush but knew he couldn't. She did all this for him so he needed to take it slow and show how much he appreciate the work. He moved behind her to start untying the corset. It was a lot of work to open the back and remove it but it was worth the wait. Once it fell Adam came back to face her and saw the other present. "I love you too Adam! And you are right here is pretty damn perfect. Except we are out if strawberries and our glasses are empty." Kim laughed when Adam splashed her. He really thought something was wrong for a second. "Well I can fix one of those things." He grabbed the bottle and filled both glasses solving one problem at least. Kim turned in his arms to lay her back on his chest melting into his embrace. They stayed like that till the drinks were gone and the water turned cool. Adam helped her out of the tub before helping to dry her off. They headed back into the bedroom to carry out several more rounds before falling asleep in each other's arms. Married life was off to a good start to say the least.
